Welcome to The Lab.

Plot
For some years now people in the local, secluded town of Tor have been experiencing disappearances of some of their towns folk, of all ages. These people have never been sighted again. Only recently has a research center, called Ukip, located about two miles of the town into the Forest of Tor come under suspicion of abducting these people.

It was a young journalist student who discovered the seedy interior of The Lab and the secrets its hiding. He found out that some of the abducted people have been used in genetics experiments, resulting in distortion and mutations. It was revealed as well as medical experiments going on scientists were also injecting and combining animal genetics with human.

You can play the role of any of the scientists or any of the kidnapped people or any of the towns people. *bear in mind that this has been going on for in excess of 40 years so some children will have been born in The Lab, so you can be a character born there.*

~SETTING~
The setting of this RP is the town of Tor, the surrounding forest and the Lab itself.
Inside the lab are various rooms, tanks and cages.

Age: 16 1/4
History: Merrow's mother previously worked as a scientist, when her baby was born she was made a test subject. Exactly how this came about is she is unsure of, weather her mother had no choice in the matter or weather she gave her freely. Before she was born she was injected with genes from an unknown species of sea creature. This caused her to become severely mutated. She now lives in one of the test rooms with several other 'beings' whilst relatively minor tests and studies are carried out on her.
Personality: Merrow is kind at heart, and has no real hatred for the scientists, she knows they are just doing their job and this view is help by the fact she has never known anything else. Dispite this she often comes across as sarcastic or disgruntled. She describes herself as a happy pessimist. Despite this she is quite a humorous person behind closed doors.

Age: 19
History: Wes was one of the very first people to be kidnapped and taken into the lab however he didn't come from the town of Tor. His relations to world mafia leader Isazu Jimanez caused for him to be constantly moved around the world. His father feared from his safety and frankly his mother didn't care. It was one night that he was being brought through the area that he was snatched from his hotel room. He had been 11 at the time and had been being followed by one of the scientists for his rare blood type and compatibility to many experiments.
Personality: Hard as a stone. Heart like a rock. Wes has lost his emotions and feelings of guilt over the years and keeps to himself. He prefers silence over noise and only speaks the necessary. He can be vague or descriptive but his choice of vocabulary is always elaborate. When he wants to he'll speak in riddles.

Other: He was the only experiment under the influence of a genetic altering serum created by one scientist. It's affects caused for him to become generally faster, stronger, better then the average human. He had heightened senses of awareness and was trained as a high profile killer. He does the companies bidding because he is forced to.

RP Name: His cage is labeled WHT, what the acronym stands for is still unknown him. Ever since seeing the label's name reflected in a mirror, he has referred to himself as White.
Gender: Male
Age: 13, although he doesn't know it.
History: When White was a small child, around five, his parents died in a car crash while he was staying at a friend's house. He was sent to child services and adopted by a foster family. Less than a week later, White, still distraught by his family's death, used his uniquely creative mind to escape his foster family's house. He ran into the woods, and was soon abducted by the scientists.

White has grown up in the Lab.

After being abducted, several experiments were performed on him. The first experiment allowed him to use more of his brain capacity at once than the average human. He was allowed to recover from the experiment for around a week, and during this time, his mind matured rapidly. White began to understand things most children around him would never understand. Now that he's live a majority of his life like this, he's smarter and more inventive than most adults, and thus, he's given a special cage that can only be accessed through the front.

Personality: White is quiet and reclusive. He can talk, but it is superstition among scientists that he is mute because he almost never verbally communicates. When he does talk, it's a deep growly voice. He keeps a secret desire to escape his 'prison' and find a place where others will accept him.

Appearance: White has the body type of an average male human his ages, but a unique trait about him is his long fingers. His eyes are a deep blue.

White was also injected with a Kermode bear's DNA, and gained the recessive trait that turns their hair a milky white. He's gained several of a bear's physical traits, like dark, intelligent eyes, sharp nails, and pads on his feet and hands. His senses have increased far past the average human.

Several injections he's gotten has sped up his metabolism greatly and almost stopped his growth rate. He will never be the same size as the average male human, but he still have a strength that reveals itself when he is desperate that can easily conquer most prey.

Despite the experiments, White still attempts to make himself look normal. He combs his hair neatly every day, washes himself at night, and wear clothing. The clothing given to him by the Lab's employees is a plain white uniform. White has tried to customize it as much as he could, but ripping pieces of fabric off the legs, making them similar to capris and tying the fabric to his arm to make things similar to arm warmers. He's ripped the first few buttons off his shirt as well.

Username: Flaming-Scorpion
RP Name: Pyralis
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown. Appears to be 16-18 years.
History: Pyralis was only 4 when his parents willingly gave him up to the lab. He was dieing of a horrible virus that caused the body to become paralyzed. The virus not only affected the muscles and joints but also the organs and they were beginning to shut down. He was submitted to the 'clinic' and his parents were told that he did not survive, and that his remains were already disposed of. The Lab temporarily stopped the virus and his condition began to improve. When he was well enough he was subjected to numerous tests. Ones that tested the human stamina, strength, and immune system. He doesn't know much about his history or where he came from. He has been told he has a severe sickness that causes dangerous side affects and mutations (The claws, supernatural strength and agility, seizures). But this -obviously- is only because of the experimentation. He has been injected with so many different medications and the like that his body can no longer function properly without them and if he does not get his usual dose his bodily functions will slow and his body will be paralyzed before his organs will cease working, but before this he will loose strength, have migranes and fevers, followed up by seizures. Also his mutations will go out of control and corrupt his mind without his 'medication'. He is also an insomniac and usually keeps one eye closed and has a very exhausted expression. He only gets sleep if his body forces him to fall unconscious or he goes into a dazed state. His mutations are his claws, pale skin, and pointed ears (along with the numerous symptoms already mentioned). He was used to lure and kidnap some of the experimental subjects and to guard the area around the Lab and the Lab itself (along with the subjects). He can not eat much either because his stomach has problems processing food, and his nutrients are usually received through IVs
Personality: Usually emotionless or perplexed. He hardly ever expresses what he is feeling and doesn't understand emotions too much. He is very devoted to what ever purpose he is given and his goal is to fulfill his purpose (he is constantly searching for one). He'll protect his 'brothers' (fellow experiments) at any costs. He considers them a 'family' even if he does not know much about the subject.

Gender: Male
Age: He appears about seven.
History: Trent was born into the lab, and due to that, he was grown up believing that he had done something wrong, and he was just being punished. He never refuses, and a lot of the scientists use him as a manipulative because he's older than he appears, and shy. He'll do anything someone asks him except cause his own death, but unknown to him that's what's happening with the experiments being done on him. When he was first born, he was a clone. Each one had been injected with rabbit DNA, the triplets ranked from one to three. One with the least DNA, and three with the most. Lucky him, Trent was born with the most DNA-- the others died because there had not been enough in the others to keep them living, as their bodies had depended on that and once it had depleted enough, it was like a bomb and blew up their organs.
Personality: Shy like a young schoolboy, he succumbs to anyone's request but is still good at offering a smile to anything that makes him want to. Although he appears young, he has a high maturity level. His growth has been stunted by the injected DNA, but he doesn't really care, as this was what is expected... right?

Other: Due to the experiments, he has internal damage. Sometimes he has random fits of coughing that send blood out his mouth. He also wears a dark cap over his ears.

RP Name: Goes by the nickname 'Kit' given to her by various employees of the lab
Gender: Female
Age: 14
History: Kit has been at the lab for 10 years. She received numerous injections of fox and albino rabbit genetic material; the rabbit giving her her white hair, the fox her ears and tails. When she was small, she had been taken from her front yard in Tor by scientists who promised her a special place of fun and toys and candy all day. When she arrived, she realized that she had been lied to, and cried and begged and screamed for her mother to no avail as the scientists immediately began the painful injections.
The trauma forced her to erase, or at least repress, her own memories of the incident, and only knows life at the lab.
Personality: Cheerful and childlike, Kit knows nothing else but her life at the lab, and so doesn't ever complain about it, believing it to be totally normal and average.

Other: Kit has an improved sense of smell and hearing, although her eyes are strong too. She has elongated fingers and long, strong, sharp nails. She has the mental age of about a 8 year old.

RP Name: Real name is unknown, she's called "Sugar"
Gender: Female
Age: 24
History: She was found lying in the forest surrounding the village half dead just over a year ago. She has not been in the lab for very long and as such her physical mutations are still minor; she's grown cat ears and a tail. Besides these she's got the reflexes of a cat. She's great at stalking her prey and always lands on her feet. She doesn't really remember anything from before she woke up in the lab with all of her wounds bandaged. There is no idea whether her amnesia is permanent or just temporary, only time will tell.
Personality: Always seems a bit distant. Never really seems to know what's going on. She has difficulty remembering minor things. She normally says no more than a few words at a time.

Other: She likes sweet things and that's why they call her Sugar. She's pretty calm and well behaved considering they are experimenting on her. Though she has a cage there's almost no need for one.

History: He's not for sure how long he has been in the lab, but it has been a while. He was injected with some DNA of a cat, and now has a black tail, and ears. When he moves no matter where he goes, or how far he goes, he is as silent as the wind. Because of this, the scientists put a bell around his neck.
Personality: Shy, and hasn't seen anyone for about a year, besides the scientists.

Age: 18
History: Anya has lived in The Lab her whole life, and several experiments over the first few years of her life involving the DNA of a snow leopard have cursed her with silver hair, and the ears and tail of a snow leopard, along with dark leopard spotting across her shoulders and down her spine. She is also gifted with the ability to be nearly silent on her feet. Unfortunately the experiments for reasons unknown have rendered Anya mute, though she can communicate perfectly well if given a sheet of paper and a writing utensil.
Personality: Anya is very level headed, and placid. She is also very observant, and extremely intelligent.

Other: Completely at odds with her snow leopard DNA, Anya will always refuse to eat meat. If asked why, she will always shrug as she can't explain it herself.


~SCIENTISTS~

Gender: Female
Age: 26
History: Laveris has been in The Lab for only a year as a junior scientist straight out of education, her duties being no grander than feeding and maintaining the care of the subjects, as well as occasionally sitting in on the experiments. Before this she led a normal and ordinary life with little strife but for the shadow of her elder siblings, each one of them talented in their own fields. Being so young to the project she, like some of the other juniors, still holds some care and attention for the subjects. However she has no concerns about the morality of the work - it is for the greater good...right? At any rate she is currently gunning for a promotion and so, no matter how difficult the tasks, must show she can perform them competently and emotionless.
Personality: Laveris is competitive - with three older brothers and sisters in the family she has always had something to prove of herself, and this has not disappeared in her time at the lab. She demands of herself the highest accuracy, speed and ability even when it is against no one but herself. Otherwise she is quiet, single minded and kind, something that frustrates her as she fears her desire to treat the subjects fairly may interfere with her ability to do the job.

Gender: Female
Age: 23
History: Mel has been working in the lab for a couple of years now to help develop new genetic mutations and keep track of the progress of the experiments. She particularly enjoys spending time with the test specimens and getting to know them. When they first started out Mel was very dedicated to her teachers and the elder lab workers, but then as she became more experienced and became one of the more experienced scientists she began to question their motives and her own ethics. Could what they were doing there really be right? What about the negative affects these experiments have been having? She is also one of the very few who are trusted with the top secret date; the truth behind the experiments, whats actually happening the creatures that were once called humans. Can what they are doing really be moral? Every day she asks herself this. She lives within the lab because she is forbidden to ever leave with the top secret knowledge she has kept in her head. She wonders how this will effect her; will the only way she can get out of this place be with her death? And what kind of effects are these creatures going to have on her? She both loves and fears her experiments. She loves them as if they were her own children, but fears what powers they might obtain. And what they may do to her...
Personality: Mel is extremely smart and kind. She loves children but doubts she will ever have any herself, yet in a way all her experiments are her children. She is put in charge of observing and teaching the experiments because she is very well qualified. Before going into the medical experimentation field she worked in a nursery school. She enjoys experimenting and coming to new conclusions, hence her job choice. One of her dreams is to make a new discovery that will be accepted as scientific fact, but now she fears what her discovery may be...

Age: 33
History: Cam grew up as the only child in a middle-class American family, worked hard through high school, and was top of his class at his state college. He eventually graduated from John's Hopkins Medical School. He's always had an extensive interest in genetic engineering, and an opening in the lab ten years ago helped him extend his interest. He started out as a junior worker, as most who come to the lab do, and just recently made his way into a senior scientist position.
Personality: Calm, gentle, dependable, and completely logical. Despite his senior position in the lab, Cam still enjoys actually interacting with the experiments and tries to show some affection to them.
Apperance: Tall, standing about 5'11'' and rather lean in build. He has dark brown hair, hazel green/brown eyes, a friendly smile for most, and a bit of a raffish rogue appearance overall.

Age: 31
History: Alex was always one of the top students in her medical classes and loved working with genetics. She came to the lab not too long ago and enjoyed working with genetic mutation. She started as a simple assistant to one of the Doctors and soon enough Alex went from being told what to do to having people of her own to boss around.
Personality: Alex is a very relaxed person, but she has a very twisted, sarcastic and cynical side of her. She often doesn't act this way, but she finds it hard to act proffessional all the time.
Appearance: Alex stands at around 5'6" and has dark brown hair that is always up in a ponytail. She has pale blue eyes and a small scar over her left one that you can never see since she always have black eye shadow to give her that cat eye like appearance. Alex is slightly chubby, but her weight is well proportioned on her body so she has some nice curves here and there.

Age: 34

History: After winning awards for scientific experiments he'd conducted, newspapers labeled him as genius and discussed the likelihood that he would be the next big thing in the scientific world. Soon after, he was offered a job as a lab technician at Ukip. After having been at the lab for 16 years Keir was now one of the top scientists, only after the founder and original scientists [of course]. He had out smarted several and simply outlasted the rest of the applicants that could have possibly gotten the position before him. He rarely leaves the lab, only when going out in search of new humans to experiment on. The lab is his life [how sad].
Personality: Not easy to get a long with, stubborn, sometimes a bit demanding, and almost impossible to please.
Apperance: Keir
Other: No one has seen him smile in over 6 years, but he seems to enjoy his work otherwise. Normally engrossed in new ideas or reading current experiment data. Also, he's the person that found Sugar and took care of her until she awoke.

Gender: Male
Age: 41
History: Daniel (though he prefers the name Faust) has been in The Lab for 10 years as one of the leading scientists and entered after perhaps 10 years as a basic medical doctor. He was known to have an almost uncanny ability to heal back in those days till one day a girl in his care died on him and he exiled himself from the world of medicine for one year before entering The Lab. He tends to be a vet like keeper to the experiments. In charge of their health and if needed at times their death. He dislikes the second so severely that he will take even the most terminal ones to the point of most unnecessary procedures if it can help it live just a bit, and so once more his record is spotless as when he began in medicine. He also tends to do experiments but is criticised for his thought of the health of the creatures rather than the power of the mutations, and yet much like before his luck usually gives them quite a deep mutated power with a distinct mental status that is always within sanity and human nature. Though this also keeps him from the level of morals some of the others may have. He has been offered promotion and information but he has no real care for it at all. He never came here to become powerful, but just to heal like he did before. Another part of his past is that one year out of medicine that he never speaks of with anyone that he believes to be his darkest time...
Personality: Faust is eccentric to an almost maddening aspect. He will do anything he can to save someone from death and perhaps even make them better than they were before. this unusual aspect of him also has given a partial god complex to his work. But he is generally kind and only means good in any action he gives regardless of how horrific. He is also known to be very empathetic in most any regard, and said if he had not entered his branch of medicine he would have entered psychology.

Other: Ever since he reentered the world of medicine he has worn a brown bag on his head. Many people found this to be good proof to his insanity but he generally sounds quite positive behind it and fairly sane, but refuses to remove the bag at any given time at all. He tends to sneak to the experiments at times as well just to talk though he has been told time and again he isn't supposed to. His most staggering feature though is his height that usually keeps most people on his good side.

Age: 42
History: He started out with a simple country life. The town he resided in had no more then 200 people in it. They weren't used to violence or dangers and everyone got along well. When he turned 20 he moved to a city. Deryk had always held a unique talent for chemistry and physics. He attended university in New York New York before marrying his wife Alesia Hendez. The woman was truly the love of his life. She worked on the elite SWAT task force for the city. Deryk then had three daughters, Suki, Lulu in Aleks. They were a loving family. Deryk had, all along, been researching the human anatomy. He was severely interested in creating a human that was superior to their current race. His studies brought him across the world but he and his family settled in a town just outside of New York. It was when their middle child, Aleks, turned 14 that everything turned upside down. Alesia and Deryk had been fighting for months because he had wanted to leave and move to Germany for a nine month research project. The woman had stamped her foot down and Deryk had gone crazy knowing that he was missing the opening that would end his research, he would finally have an experiment worth performing.
Alesia went missing on the morning of Aleks' birthday and Deryk went into a depression of grief. It was then that his colleague grabbed him and put him on a plane to Germany where he was forced to continue his studies. His personality rapidly changed. He went from a flower to a rock in persona. Deryk also lost contact with his three daughters having no idea that Lulu and Suki had been killed. He came to the facility with a warranted project. His equations had been extremely precise and fit to only one person. His daughter Aleks or, Wes Jimanez.
Personality: Hard as a rock, cold as a stone. Deryk shows no mercy if some one is in pain. One might call him a man of no emotions.
Appearance: Tall, muscular build, with medium dark skin. His eyes are a mellow blue and often look grey. His hair is short and jet black. He doesn't look at all Asian though. He wears black scrubs often and his lab coat.
Other: He knows that his middle child Aleks is alive.
:arrow: Character Name: Milly Tudball
Employment: Lead Laboratory Technologist
Age: 28
Physical Description: A little short and a little plump, Milly has black long bangs that cover her forehead down to her thick black rimmed glasses, and a shaggy bob that goes down to the nape of her neck. Dressed normally in a white lab coat as is part of the uniform, Milly tends to wear black or dark colored clothing because it doesn't show blood as much as lighter clothing does. Milly has dark blue eyes that only show an intensity when she desires to learn the scientific truth about something, otherwise they're a little listless looking.
Personality: Milly is very strong willed to the point where she just out right refuses people, their ideas, objects, or anything that doesn't agree with what she believes in or what she wants. Extremely scientific in everything, analyzes things down to the smallest particle. Will do anything for science, even cross a few ethical or moral lines to get the answers she needs. Milly isn't very friendly either, she keeps to herself and talks only to other people to find out information, give orders, or get something. She can be cordial enough when she tries but she rarely does.
History: Milly sprung to the head of her class when she was in highschool, having an aptitude for the sciences at an early age. She just drank in all the information she could get, especially when it came to biology. She loved finding out how the body worked like a complex machine. In theory you could fix anything, which Milly really liked the idea of. Coming from an average lower middle class background, Milly worked hard in highschool to get into a top university where she had a full scholarship for the duration of her bachelors. Quickly getting in with the right people, Milly finished her bachelors in record time and immediately started her post graduate. During this time she found she had a particular interest in neuropsychology. The brain was amazing and she believes that one day she'll be able to unlock all its secrets... she just has to do enough experiments first.

She's great at stalking her prey and always lands on her feet. She doesn't really remember anything from before she woke up in the lab with all of her wounds bandaged. There is no idea whether her amnesia is permanent or just temporary, only time will tell.
  
  Personality: Always seems a bit distant. Never really seems to know what's going on. She has difficulty remembering minor things. She normally says no more than a few words at a time.

History: Mel has been working in the lab for a couple of years now to help develop new genetic mutations and keep track of the progress of the experiments. She particularly enjoys spending time with the test specimens and getting to know them. When they first started out Mel was very dedicated to her teachers and the elder lab workers, but then as she became more experienced and became one of the more experienced scientists she began to question their motives and her own ethics. Could what they were doing there really be right? What about the negative affects these experiments have been having? She is also one of the very few who are trusted with the top secret date; the truth behind the experiments, whats actually happening the creatures that were once called humans. Can what they are doing really be moral? Every day she asks herself this. She lives within the lab because she is forbiden to ever leave with the top secret knowledge she has kept in her head. She wonders how this will effect her; will the only way she can get out of this place be with her death? And what kind of effects are these creatures going to have on her? She both loves and fears her experiments. She loves them as if they were her own children, but fears what powers they might obtain. And what they may do to her...
Personality: Mel is extremely smart and kind. She loves children but doubts she will ever have any herself, yet in a way all her experiments are her children. She is put in charge of observing and teaching the experiments because she is very well qualified. Before going into the medical experimentation field she worked in a nursery school. She enjoys experimenting and coming to new conclusions, hence her job choice. One of her dreams is to make a new discovery that will be accepted as scientific fact, but now she fears what her discovery may be...
