Heresy: A History
Death and Rebirth

Earth, 4075 AD

Earth suffered serious damage due to a planetary collision with another planet that was apparently on the other side of the sun since the dawn of time, how the planet managed to collide with earth so quickly was unknown, as was how the other planet escaped the damage they suffered. The event, which later became known as Impact heralded Earth’s first documented encounter with a small lagomorphic race of rabbit creatures with humanoid bodies, including opposable thumbs which the humans dubbed Kumoire due to the fact that their name had sounds which the humans could not emulate in their own tongue appeared. The Kumoire were skilled mechanists, as such, things such as hover vehicles and energy-harnessing devices were soon incorporated into human technology. It became a golden age With the Kumoire came the Alioth, a race of large, muscular reptilian creatures with scales matching the toughest nonmetal armors in resilience, regenerative properties and two sets of eyes; both races inhabited the thick jungle vales of Alioth, which was named after the Lizard folk who first colonized it. Due to the jungles being so thick and filled with so many predators, they colonized the beaches and formed underground networks of tunnels and caves. They towered over humans at over seven feet tall when hunched over, and roughly about nine feet when fully erect. They seemed cruel in appearance, though not unintelligent, many were excellent marksmen, with their less complicated engineering (at least in comparison to the Kumoire) the Alioth introduced a twenty five-foot tall walking mechanized war-machines which the humans called PASSes (Power Armored Slave Suits), a boon to mankind, who had finally overcome their differences, they began to construct PASS armors specifically to handle construction work, as well as suits modified for working in hostile conditions. Humankind now lived in its golden age.

Mars, 118 AI (After Impact)

With the coming of the Kumoire and Alioth, a fourth race was soon introduced. A race of long-lived humanoids known as the Urukniir made their presence known. They hailed from Mars, which due to Impact brought closer to the sun, since Jupiter’s mass became smaller due to a bombardment of debris. It almost collapsed on itself, causing a weakness in centrifugal force, which made Mars come closer to the sun, and therefore unfreezing the Urukniir from their cryogenic stasis. The Urukniir were almost exactly like humans save for glowing green or blue eyes, rarer still were hues of purple, yellow and red and being tightly muscled, as well as having vestigial claws. They were considered slightly primitive by the new Human standards and were harder to integrate into their culture due to the Urukniir being asleep for so long and not having any common languages. To combat this problem, Humans made an effort to learn their language, then translate and develop a universal Human language for all cultures on earth to speak, thus overcoming a language barrier between all the races, since they were all able to make the human vocal noises without much difficulty.

The Urukniir possessed a rather interesting capability. Unlike humans, they relied on an inborn trait that they called “Waera,” which was like the human concept of magic as well as “Ruiku” which allowed them to control things telekinetically. Because they could not teach the ability, they merely used their capabilities to assist humans with scientific principles to artificially simulate the effect, but the attempts failed. The Urukniir then looked back at their lore. They had a solution.

Nastrazsan, 286 AI

The Urukniir were able to ascertain the identities of their ‘Gods,’ known as the Ephon. A bold mission was taken, to travel to their Homeworld of Nastrazsan and ask for their aid in building the ultimate society. Negotiations failed, and the Ephon sent the diplomats home in various states of dismemberment. The Alliance, angered by this initiated a full on assault on the Ephon Homeworld, destroying who they could, kidnapping as many small children and infants as they could, and terminating what they couldn’t. After, they succeeded in stealing all the technology they were able to as well as instruction on how to build it, and then found the ultimate tool of war: instructions on building a cloning facility.

Earth. 523 AI

The Ephon raised on Earth eventually began to use their natural knack for genetic experiments and creation to develop massive cloning facilities, artificially create planets and develop “Force Gauntlets.” They matured and grew to be far taller than average humans, averaging at about seven feet tall with tapered ears, fair skin, almost devoid of body hair and tightly muscled. Force Gauntlets enabled a user to manifest magic of a specific element, and allowed slight telekinesis. They also created a race of slight, shorter replicas of the Ephon race called the Envis. The Envis were unable to use Ruiku or Waera, but were more athletically inclined than the Urukniir and were able to leap higher and farther than what should be possible with their height, they also had a little less stamina and were weaker. They were primarily trained for the sake of being Sharpshooters.

The Ephon began to notice movement on the edge of their radars. After informing the Humans and Kumoire, they prepared to mobilize a small scouting group in order to investigate. The Alioth began to produce scouting PASS armors in order to maintain stealth, since fighters were light and fast, but could not stop in space. With Commander Mjyrn of the Alioth, Commander “Steve” of the Kumoire, Sergeant Kulimbor Elphin of the Ephon, Lieutenant Commander Xain Salthis of the Urukniir and Commander Juliek Straatman and Captain Revanys Sorrowborn of the Humans; the scouting party had several armies at their back ready to pounce if anything failed. The scouting party was attacked, the armies moved in, over one million went in on their side alone, one hundred and twelve came back, and they still didn’t do much to the enemy.

Captain Sorrowborn became a military legend. The few survivors were due to his excellent strategies, inflicting damage to their fleet for every casualty inflicted in a ten to one ratio. He soon assumed the late Commander Straatman’s position as Space Commander, and was used as a template for the clone army newly established Earth Allied Federation. Cloned en masse, Revanys became the baseline of standards. All of the clones spent their first five years in a training center with special chemicals regularly administered to quadruple the aging process, speed growing thousands upon thousands of clones.

Xixecal Diplomacy

Terra III, 508 AI

Terra III was one of the first artificial planets made to accommodate the population explosion of the races. The Envis made up sixty percent of the populace, their low birth rate was counteracted by an extremely long life span, though they somehow remained the dominant species. A new threat became apparent with Terra III’s destruction, a race of insectoids known as the Xixecal appeared in space, a large battleship signaled the death of peace, and the EAF clone army was deployed. Landsknecht 806, a cloned Lieutenant of Revanys succeeded in launching a counter attack which broke through their fleet and destroyed their capital ship, sustaining three injuries from inside the cockpit of a PASS armor known only as Black Heart, one lost arm, a lost leg and a missing eye, all of which were replaced by cybernetics. He was awarded with a Purple Heart, as well as a promotion to Field Commander. Revanys made it a point to personally give him a name “Revan.”

Revan was soon deployed again to infiltrate and steal the schematics for their battleships, it was easy, since they had an ace up their sleeve: they managed to find a traitor in their ranks. Deployed with over a hundred Dark Commandos, special clones trained specifically for espionage, assassination and collateral damage. The mission went smoothly, the traitor managed to teach Revan the language, walked him through the downloading process and secured backups, letting the Commandos do their work by taking out secondary power, killing off every guard they could, destroying engines, sending out false distress calls and causing explosions in the hangar.

From there, Revanys took to the field, alongside his clone and the traitor, they escaped and did a large service to the Federation.

Luna XI, 2112 AI

It has been over two and a half millennia and war still rages on, neither side shows any side of relenting. The clones have long since died, a few taking on lives outside of duty, many settled down and had children. On a quiet, out of the way replica of Earth, a descendant of Revan named Cecil Riley, a small town Gearhead who bears a striking resemblance to the original spends all of his time at the local military base. He spends his days making repairs to damaged battle armors, as well as PASS armors as volunteer work… at least not until that fateful day… the day he got to see actual combat.

Heresy: Races

Not all of the races of Heresy are playable, for two reasons.

1) In the story I'm writing, there's over 62 races.

2) I'm keeping it to Good Guys ONLY until I manage to get far enough with the Inquisition's storyline in order to explain them, I also need a purely subjective history to incorporate a faction known as "The Rim."

Heresy Case File TKXY-1201

For quicker navigation through the Racial Case File, Vanguard 118 has allowed the editors to insert Quick-Nav codes in order to skip through to the most important parts of the document. They will be displayed by the name in brackets. For those of you new to technology, the shortcut to bring up the Find tool is the same as it has been for centuries: CTRL+F.

Earth Allied Federation
  • Humans {EAF00}
    Kumoire {{EAF01}}
    Urukniir {{EAF02}}
    Ephon {{EAF03}}
    Envis {{EAF04}}

    Humans{{EAF00}}: Humans basically dominate the space stations, artificial planets and Earth itself. As a whole, they are a bold, audacious, curious race, and the Heroes (Not actual Heroes, but just the PCs) are perceived the most bold, audacious and curious of their race. Humans are about average in all forms, though some specialize in certain fields. A bulk of the Earth Allied Federation consists of Humans.
    Because their life spans are so short compared to the other races, Humans evolve quickly as a society, growing constantly and seem rather rash and impatient to the other races, especially the Ephon.
