Hiyas there. I am getting more and more into Steampunk with every waking second. Does anyone share my obsession?

I am thinking about setting up a rp based on Steampunk.

I am thinking the setting is going to be dark, with an occult flare...like witches, vampires, the like.

Hmm, I have never really tried a steam punk before but I am wanting to try it now after reading a little bit on it.

Personally I was first introduced to steampunk through Dr.Steel. But Steampunk is like a world of culture so what exactly is it that you want to do? Also what kind of genre? I might be interested, after all I had a steampunk phaze myself a while back.

@ Jack Friday - Dr. Steel? Is that a user? Or a program of some sort? I am thinking dark occult, romance, horror kind of scenario...intrigue...along those same lines.

Doctor Steel is a musician whose primary genre is Steampunk, focusing mainly on a combination of 20's-50's era styles with modern ones. (Which is about the most 'modern' steampunk can get.) I'm more into the fashion than the music (although I'm not steampunk, I'm ethergoth by nature) but I'd suggest checking him out! His music is fairly good, especially if you're into Steampunk.

Also, I would be proud to try something out with you. We would have to clarify a few details on what you want and would be willing to do, but I imagine it would be great fun! Together we can make something beautiful!

I'm up for it. It sounds like an interesting idea. And I haven't ever really given steam punk a try. Have a characters that might work with it too.

@ Atlanshia - I am here now, back to Mene. I did not really think a lot would be interested in this genre here, and this has me excited so...I think instead of a private, I am going to have it semi private, if there is such a thing. Not private in the sense it's going to be just you and me, but semi private in the sense of...well, whoever has expressed an interest in joining it, and who has somewhat of an understanding what Steampunk is.

@ OhMahGawz - I did not hear his music yet, I just saw him and met him in person because he had a booth at the comic con. I am more curious than ever about him now. Since more people are interested in this little idea of mine on Mene, I am thinking about making it semi private. I am leaning on something dark and supernatural, but almost anything goes with common sense you know? IE, I really don't want a Sailor Moon knock-off in this rp...but my character is going to be a techno-time mage.

@ Limbo - You're more than willing to join us hun. I bookmark my threads that I am involved in on Mene, it makes it easier for me to keep tabs with them. I do not know how many you are involved with, but I'd suggest giving it a go. And of course when it starts, I will drop you a PM.

The first time I got introduced to Steampunk was a Japanese animation movie called Steam Boy...while I'm not obsessed with Steampunk, it is certainly interesting. And I like interesting stuff like that ;D

Just wondering; if we don't get enough people to take up all the posts in the roleplay thread, are they going to become NPCs? And is there a plotline?

@ Fading Existence - In a day or so I will officially open up the roleplay and get us started and if the roles are not filled they will be random NPCs with no names until they are filled. As for the plot line, it's just going to be a slice of life type of thing, character and personal storyline driven. There is no great menace or anything, not yet. Hope this helps!
