It's totally up to you whether it's a same-sex or a hetero couple. I don't mind either way. I do know that I am waaayy more comfortable playing boys than girls--I rarely use my female characters for anything, at all. I'd probably be more comfortable playing the merperson, as well--more experience playing that role in such a pairing than playing a human.

Well, I'd probably be better with hetero, and being female/human. And as for the plot, I was thinking somewhere along the lines of a rich business man of some sort buys the merman as a sort of entertainment factor for his guests, but his daughter doesn't like the idea. Short summery, but I was thinking the plot could be along that type of idea. However, I'm open to ideas ^^
