I went ahead and started the thread. Also, I like to keep track of my side character's and their appearances, so I usually do my own section to fill those out in xD
Libra - I'm in a similar boat as you! I'm also in my 20s and very busy with life so I know how it goes with having to work around schedules. I go to college full time and so I know how it is to have to put a pin in RPs for a bit until things slow down. I'm also trying to get back into roleplaying while I have a bit of downtime this summer between semesters, and I was wondering what your ideas were for the Sailor Moon roleplay? I also like the Jack/Elsa pairing, but depending on what you're looking at for Sailor Moon I'd prefer that one because I've been dying for that theme - primarily the Early Moon Kingdom period pre-Beryl-becoming-evil - kind of going through the initial romance period that we miss in the original story. Let me know what you're thinking! :)
Thankfully I have 4 days off a week (I just started my new schedule at work), so I feel like I have a great deal more time for RPing now than I ever did.
A sailor moon RP sounds good! I love the idea of making a back-story for the series. Would we be able to do a couple scenes while they're younger? Like, a few between the ages of 8-12, then the majority of the RP be when they are a bit older? Does the series specify at what age they met?
Yeah, I really didn't have too much of a vision for what to RP right now, just as long as it sparks my interest.
Haha! I actually was just creating my own search thread and happened to see yours at the top and figured I'd take a look at other people's threads and see if we have anything in common! Those two scenarios popped out at me so I figured I'd take a shot, especially since we're in the same boat schedule-wise so we can ease into it and get back into the swing! :D
Oh wow - I bet that's a nice change! How many days did you previously have off? I finally have a break after 4 years straight of going to college every semester (including summers) so I don't know what to do with myself yet! On one hand I'm glad I can take the next few months easy, but on the other hand I'm still trying to find something to keep me from going stir crazy! At least I have a few trips planned this summer though, so that should break it up a bit. Then the craziness returns! (New degree starting)
In the original anime, which I grew up on, Serenity and Endymion (who I grew up knowing as Darien) didn't meet until Serenity was around 15/16 and Darien was around 18/19 - from what I gather based on the new anime, which is a bit more close to the original manga story, that's correct as well. However, I've always liked the idea of them meeting at a younger age when their parents were doing political alliances etc. and meeting occasionally as children throughout the years, but not really knowing each other until their later teen years into young adulthood.
My thought for their initial meeting would be at her birth when she's presented to the court and the inner senshi princesses were introduced to the princess of the moon (they're kindergarten-age when Serenity is born), so that way Darien (or Endymion - whichever you want to go with) is acquainted with her existence and the inner princesses and then when Serenity is a little older at their next meeting the inner princesses can kind of break the ice after the introductions from their parents. Then we can go from there and explore the development of their relationship and perhaps go into the Beryl plot line towards the end and explore the battle between Queen Metalia and Queen Serenity and the deaths of the Prince and Princess. If everything goes well we can skip ahead to Crystal Tokyo and pick up from there! There's a lot of possibility since we're going where the anime and manga haven't gone :3
I did have 2 days off a week. I went from 40 hours to 36 hours, so I'm losing some money since I'm not working that 4 extra hours a week, but I think the 2 extra days off a week is worth it.
Nice! Did you just finish your Bachelors? After I finished my Associates I was all "Meh, no school for a while." Besides, I don't need a Bachelors for my field unless I am gunning for management. Which, I got a taste of that at one of my last jobs, I'm pretty good for right now. My Bachelors will probably end up being a career change, and it would be full time for another 2 years. So I'm putting it off for a while and making some money right now.
That sounds good so far! You can keep calling him Darien, it's just easier to pronounce in my head, and I grew up on the English dubbed version anyway. So I just looked up the wiki on Queen Metalia and I think I have a better understanding of her and Beryl fit in to the story. That sounds awesome! Definitely sounds like a good start to the story. I'm not very well acquainted with crystal Tokyo too much, as the story goes on though I'll undoubtably look up more information on it as well. I didn't realize the inner senshi princesses were so much older than Serenity! Probably as the story progresses I will hash out some other ideas I have along the way.
Who did you want to play between Darien and Serenity?
Did I mention it's nice that someone else wants to take a front seat in developing a story-line to work off of? I like having a general flow set up to a scene I'm writing before I start writing it. If there's anything I write that you feel like should've gone in a different direction, just let me know. I'm all about making the story flow rather than being bent out about you not liking my post :P
Oh I agree - 4 hours isn't too much of a cut back when you're talking about gaining 2 days a week off. Plus since you're now under 40 hours a week there's opportunity for you to pick up those extra 4 hours as a fill-in without going into overtime, which employers always love!
Yes! I majored in Health Care Management, which was a 4 year degree, so I finally finished with that and graduate officially on Saturday - but now I'm waiting on my acceptance into the Nursing program and that starts in August :3 I can't get officially accepted until I've graduated with my current degree, but I don't think it'll be an issue because I'm graduating with Highest Honors (only one other person is doing that) so I should hopefully be an easy acceptance lol! Unfortunately that adds an extra 2 years for an Associates until I get my RN, then another 2 years for the Bachelor's, but since I did Management first, I've actually cut a year out of the Bachelor's program so it should only take 1 year. If it weren't for Management taking care of courses in both the Associates and the Bachelor's, and the fact that I'm continuing at my current college, I'd be taking a break myself - but I figure, since it's taking courses off of the Nursing degree, and I did my degrees backwards, I might as well take the plunge and get it all in before I move and before they change the programs around! I don't mind that I did them backwards though - I think I have more of an understanding and background to go through the Nursing program doing it this way than if I had reversed it! I guess mistakes always work out in the end, right? Lol!
When I think about my Master's I think I'm going to do the same thing you're doing - wait until I want to make a career change and I have enough saved up to focus on the new degree instead of having to both work full time and do a full time degree. :3 Since I'll have the double Bachelor's, I'll have a few options as to a career change so it'll be nice to have the option later on!
Yay! Someone else who grew up on the English dubbed version!! I always meet people who love Sailor Moon but hate the English version lol I'm honestly obsessed with that version! I hate the re-dubbed version though - which is funny because I feel like I'm the opposite of every other fan that I've met because they love the re-dub more than the original dub!
Yeah, Crystal Tokyo is really a mystery in the anime - the only time it's mentioned is in the R arc after the Doom Tree arc when Rini (Chibiusa) comes into the picture from the future, so I know how Crystal Tokyo came to be and I know a brief history before the Black Moon group and the Wise Man comes into play, but other than that everything is a mystery and everything after is a mystery because after Rini leaves, she comes back to the past to train under her mother when she was still Sailor Moon, so we never really hear about Crystal Tokyo again because for seasons S - SuperS Rini is in the past. I can't remember if she's in Stars at all or not as I only watched a pirated version once (bought it off eBay and didn't realize it was a bootleg until I got it in), but once we get to that point or get closer and decide we want to continue into that storyline with Rini and Pegasus then I can re-watch those seasons and see what I can dig up for an overall guideline - plus the new anime is just finishing up the first Rini arc so a lot of the original manga info can be gathered from there as well. :3
Right? I was shocked to see that as well! When I double checked Serenity and Darien's age for the Moon Kingdom, it talked about how in the manga the inner princesses were gathered around the newborn Serenity and looked to be between the ages of 5-8. In the anime they put the girls closer together in age, and then in the new anime they put Darien closer in age as well and made him a high schooler instead of a college student lol But I like the idea that they're a little older, and not her age or a year or two older, because that gives them more of a close age with Darien and they have a bit more knowledge of royal life etc. as they guide and protect Serenity. :3
I would love to be able to play Serenity if that's okay! My thought was that for the original Moon Kingdom arc I could play Serenity and you Darien, then as we bring in the inner princesses (Amy - Mercury, Rei - Mars, Lita - Jupiter, Mina - Venus) and Darien's protectors as well from the Golden Kingdom of Elysion (the Shitennou - Zoisite, Jadeite, Nephrite, and Kunzite), we can split them up so that we're each playing the opposite's love interest and we can split it up 2 guys and 2 girls for each - since they're not constant and they go in and out of the picture as it relates to the Prince and Princess, it wouldn't be too hard to keep up with everything. I have no real preference with the inner senshi or the Shitennou other than perhaps Amy, but other than that I'm pretty flexible on those ones! :)
Haha! I'm the same way! I love working with someone who doesn't mind talking about plot points and direction of the storyline because I too like having an idea of where we're going and what we're aiming for, so if something seems to go off that track we can talk about it and adjust it as we go along, or change things up if we feel like it's getting a little stagnant! And the same goes for me as well - if for some reason my post seems a little off (like I mixed up personalities on certain parts or something), I don't mind fixing things or redoing things to get it right! The only thing that I don't like are a million pings, but I don't mind private messages or something - we could also create a thread to talk about everything so it's all in one place? If I remember correctly Mene used to have a forum specifically for that - not sure if they still do but that's something to look into if you're interested in that. :3

Anyway! Ah, I don't think I've seen S or Super S then, I guess I stopped watching after Rini goes back to the future. By the new anime you mean Crystal right? Since I stopped watching after like 4 episodes I don't know about as much that's going on in it xD I recently got access to Crunchyroll, so I'll probably be able to watch most of the episodes on it now. Also since I just got a TV in my room, I will be more willing to watch things by myself again.
Yeah, I agree on keeping them all the further ages apart, at least in the beginning. That way the inner princesses can be her friends, but also like her older sisters. I definitely like Rei and Sara (the one called Makoto, I don't seem to remember her name being Sara, maybe I found the wrong information lol), so I think it would be enjoyable playing their characters. Other than that, we can surely split the rest up as we go.

That would be at the end of R then! So there's S, SuperS, and Stars after that. :3 And yes - the new anime is called Sailor Moon Crystal - it's basically a sped up version of the original. They're only taking 24 or 26 episodes to complete Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon R, bypassing the Ali & Ann / Doom Tree arc completely. Both the original and the new anime are on Crunchyroll as far as I know! If they removed the original anime then I think Hulu has both the dubbed and the subbed version. :3
Haha! No no - there is no Sara in the show! Makoto would be Sailor Jupiter, so her English name is Lita. :3 List of Sailor Moon characters - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - This is a good reference to brush up on who's who! Curious now where Sara came from though lol - their info is a bit off!
If you want Rei and Lita, I can take Amy and Mina - then you would have Zoisite and Kunzite as the guys, and I'll have Jadeite and Nephrite! Zoisite is paired with Amy, Jadeite is paired with Rei, Nephrite is paired with Lita, and Kunzite is paired with Mina :3 I've always had a liking for Nephrite so I don't mind this being the split for these characters. :)
How about you take the OOC thread and I'll take the RP thread? I'll work on setting that up tonight or tomorrow! I'm thinking I should do a the main post, then my characters (Serenity/Mina/Amy/Jadeite/Nephrite), then you post your characters (Rei/Lita/Zoisite/Kunzite/Darien), then we can set those up with a brief introduction of each character and we can go from there. I'll post a link in just a bit!
Although I grew up on the dubbed version, I only watch the subbed versions of anime when I can. I've found too many dubbed anime that have awful voice acting, so I prefer to watch the subbed version so I have no problems with it xD
I'll have to check the rest of the series out. I might also have to look up the manga to get more information as well... Hehehe.
Lita definitely sounds more recognizable. I just googled Sailor Moon and went with the first wiki that popped up. Guess I'll stick with the Wikipedia articles instead now xD

I know what you mean - for most anime I prefer the subbed, but for some I just love the dubbed - Ranma 1/2, Sailor Moon, Inuyasha - I used to love the dubbed Card Captors because it's what I grew up on, but after hearing the subbed I'm in love with that version too! (A bit more to be honest lol) With Sailor Moon I love the original dub but I hatee the new dub. I wish they had just re-released it with an updated quality versus new voice acting as well!
Haha! Sailor Moon Crystal has a lot of great info on the original Moon Kingdom - it's a bit more elaborate than the original Anime's focus but that has some good info as well. I'm not sure on the managa as I haven't had the opportunity to read it (I prefer physical reading versus online reading) but since it's the original source I bet it has more info than the animes! And if you have any questions I might be able to help as well - it's my favorite anime so I unfortunately, or fortunately rather in this case since we're roleplaying it, know quite a bit about everything XD;

Sure! A Fairy Tail RP sounds good. No, I don't have any ideas really floating around in my head at the moment. For Fairy Tail, I'd prefer to play a recycled OC (from a RP that never really kicked off), though you're welcome to do a canon character or an OC. Would you like their to be a possibility of romance in it? Or we could always do a sibling element to it, and have romance be with side characters to the story.

If we both do OCs, we could have a small guild that's based in the same universe as Fairy Tail. Or, our characters can be from 2 separate guilds, or however we want to do the whole story. As you can tell, I'm open for whatever ideas interest you.
Most things Disney, magical girl, wizard/witch/fairy oriented. I also like a few games like Legend of Zelda, legend of mana, and Crono trigger. Pretty much any of those things with a different setting and maybe a more tragic situation (or a tragic situation arises).
I haven't gotten very far in Madoka Magica, but I am loving it so far. Maybe a dark magical girl twist on some Disney? Some of my favorites are Aladdin, sleeping Beauty, pretty much anything. I'm down for mixing and matching characters too.

That sounds perfect! Have you seen Ever After High? That seems like it would be a great place for the magical girls to try to change everyone's fates... Except, unlike in the animated series, everyone is on track for following their parent's destinies.
Libra: It happens that I have watched it, the first season (unsure if there's more?) You're right that'd be the perfect setting! So I guess the other characters would be the canon ones, but different in beliefs and personality-wise etc. And the magical girls would be OCs?

Did you want us to have a OOC thread and an RP? Or would you just rather write on eachother's profiles/PM eachother any storyline info? I'm open to both. Another thread just means more gold for us to earn with the story.
Was there anything else you wanted to role-play? I do like the idea of worlds with magic in them but I don't know Winx lore well enough to feel confident doing a role-play with that.
I had found what I was originally looking for. However, while I was looking through my old RPS, I came across one that I did a a "random adventure" where there was no pre-planning, just make it up as we go, and change it up when we want. Would you be interested in that? If not, it's all good.
