What You Should Know About Me:

I'm a pretty optimistic person. I'd rather not stick with a role-play where there's nothing but angst and drama. I have enough drama in real life, thanks.
I'm not into posts that look like essays, at least not consistently. I'm fine if you need to describe something in explicit detail and it takes a few paragraphs, but if that's what every post is like, then, frankly, I'll probably get bored and zone out. I've been taught to be concise and exact with my words: I'll say what needs to be said in as few words as possible, most of the time. My posts generally fall somewhere between semi-literate and literate, usually a few sentences to a paragraph or so, depending on the situation. If you ever need more to go on, feel free to ask me: I won't be offended, and will oblige if I can.
If something you do bothers me too much, I probably will bring it up. Don't be offended; I do it to my best friend from time to time, so it's not a sign that I dislike you. And, as is fair, you're more than welcome to do the same to me. I have this tick where I'm constantly worrying if I annoy other people, so if you tell me what I'm doing wrong, I'll usually be happy to oblige.
I do need to know your limits; I have a few of my own (just things that squick me too badly), and just as I expect you not to cross mine, I'd like to not cross yours.
I have an AIM, an MSN, and a Yahoo account. If you'd rather RP there, then feel free to PM me and I'll give you the appropriate names. I'll also rp on a forum thread, or over PMs.
Role-playing is not my life. If I feel bad or something, I might not want to RP. It's not you, usually, it's me. Additionally, sometimes I just get busy and don't have the time for it. I don't like being made to feel guilty for not role-playing; it makes me want to do it even less.
Character development is one of favorite things to do. Don't be surprised if I get all psychological on my characters.
I'll do crossovers, if I know all of the fandoms involved and it sounds good.
Want to see my general writing ability? My LJ is a good spot to look, but be careful there: I type out the warnings for a reason, you know.
I'm open to straight, yaoi, or yuri, as long as the pairing works.

Notes: I'm not big on Nick/Maya, Nick/Iris, Miles/Franziska, Apollo/Trucy, or Klavier/Apollo. Any others, ask me on and I'll consider it. I'm biggest on Nick/Miles, Gumshoe/Franziska, and Klavier/Ema, but I also admit a thing for Miles/Kay.

Sherlock Holmes
Notes: I can't stand Holmes/Irene. I'll do Holmes/OFC, Watson/Mary, Holmes/Mary, or Watson/OFC gladly, and I'll tolerate Holmes/Watson if you insist (I've written it, but I'm not a large fan). I'll do book!Holmes, Granada!Holmes, and movie!Holmes, but I can't do BBC!Holmes quite yet, as I haven't seen it.

Star Trek
Notes: I'm mostly tolerant here. Ask, and I'll let you know. I'm into TOS, movie-verse, and TNG.

Pokemon
Notes: No anime characters. Sorry, don't watch it enough to know. I'll take ideas from the anime, if you can get me a decent synopsis.

Angels, Demons
Notes: Sure, why not? I'll even do romance, if you're okay with the angel "falling" a bit. This is where, however, I will get religious with my roleplaying. If you object to that, then I'm not the girl to do this rp with you.

Superpowers
Notes: Yes. I'll even be okay if you rip off a comic book heroes' powers. Talk it over with me, I'll likely say yes.

Vampires, Werewolves, Fae
Notes: Vampires do not sparkle. I will not do Twilight-style vampires, under any circumstances. I'm okay with vamps being able to reproduce and love and all, but overall, I like my vampires dangerous and scary and not sparkly. Werewolves... I'm not as big on them, so I will not personally play one, but if you want to, go ahead. Fae are dark and creepy to me, I don't particularly care for the Disney "happy" fae.

Regular Humans
Notes: Sure. I'm not a fan of playing little kids, but older teens to young adults are fine.

Limits and Notes:

I'm sure I have others that I can't think of right now, but here's what pops into my mind, in general:

Soft Limits (I'll Negotiate)

Character Death: I like it to serve a purpose, other than just to be a tearjerker, since in most role-plays, it's not reversible.
Hopeless Situations: Like I said, I'm a fairly optimistic person. I like to see some hope for my characters.

Hard Limits (No Negotiating)

Invincible Characters: Hate 'em. No one is perfect. (Exception: In fandoms, characters that are canonically invincible (eg; Q in Star Trek: TNG)
Pairings: I'll tell you if I dislike a certain pairing too much to do it: if I say that, then I'm going to ask you to please not push the issue.

Notes

I'll play males or females as needed, though naturally I lean towards playing girls.
I'll tolerate "script-style" role-playing, but I don't by any means prefer it. If you can do proper writing, then I'd rather we do it that way.
I do get tired, and I do make typos. Feel free to tease me about it.
If you need a visual aid of a character, ask and you might receive: I'm trying to get better at drawing, so if you mention it, I might try to whip something up. No promises, though.
Plots? If you have one, throw it at me. If you want one, let me know. If you'd rather freestyle, that's fine too. I've done all sorts of rp, from a total freestyle, to a premise, to collaborating on the plot the entire way through, and enjoyed all of it.
