I thought it might be interesting to try for once. What I'm thinking is a literate 1x1 RP, preferably something with at least a little bit of sci-fi/fantasy in it... with pictures (drawn by the RPers, NOT found on the Internet!). Not every post, but every few pages or so, one or both RPers could make a picture to illustrate a character or scene in the RP as the story goes along.
The art doesn't have to be fabulous; I know mine isn't most of the time. Just something to get the idea across and add a little spark to the RP. Visuals can also be really helpful sometimes, though if you are RPing with me, I do absolutely expect you to use description in your writing and not rely on images!
Of course this would mean needing to have some sort of drawing program, scanner, or digital camera in order to get the pictures into the posts, though if it turns out that this gets no replies because of that, I'll be happy with a non-illustrated RP, too.
Having an OOC thread to discuss the story and determine the when and what of adding images would be a must.
As for the RP itself, I don't expect a certain number of lines per post, but I do expect effort and detail to be put in wherever necessary. Some scenes do call for shorter replies, but others may require a good bit of writing, so be prepared for either, depending on how things go.
I don't care what type of character(s) you have, as long as they fit with the story. That is the most important thing!
Also, if you do decide to write with me and then feel that you want or need to quit or take a long break, please let me know before doing so; I don't like being abandoned outright.

What type of pairing do you prefer to play? And do you mind if a character isn't human?

I tend to like non-human characters; they tend to make things interesting--as long as it's not overboard.
As far as pairings go, I guess that would just depend on the nature of the RP. If you mean romantic pairings, that's just an "If it happens, it happens" kind of thing, so it's all up to whether or not the characters who fit the story end up being compatible.
Basically, I'm not that picky as long as it works!

I love the idea of it being Illustrated! I know you mentioned sci-fi/fantasy, but did you have any particular plots in mind? I would be certainly open to this regardless. :)

Although.... If you've heard of The Dragonriders of Pern series... I might be interested in trying something similar to that. Just with the dragonriders and all that... not necessarily with the Pern setting or plot.

Can't say I've heard of it, though you could give me a general idea of the parts that interest you.
As for plots, I don't have anything specific in mind right now; I've been hunting for some new ideas lately. What kinds of things interest you most?

Hmmm.... I haven't been exactly 'craving' anything lately... But a lot of times I find myself winging things and then coming up with more development later in the story..... I have a habit of writing an Introduction out of the blue after figuring out a basic sketch of the plot.

But I do enjoy fantasy a lot... mermaids, vampires, elves, etc. Actually... something with elves sounds rather awesome right now, heh. I'm currently doing a mermaid and a vampire rp right now.

But for the dragonriders of pern... It's about people who ride dragons, basically. The dragons and the humans have a telepathic link and the humans are chosen to ride the dragons from their birth. It's a pretty nifty book series if you want to look it up.

I know one thing I've been wanting to use lately is a character that's some sort of animal (be it mostly humanoid or more animal, wouldn't matter). I think that would be pretty easy to work into almost any kind of story, though.
I haven't worked much with elves, but I imagine they could be very versatile. How do you usually go about them?

And that does sound pretty neat; it reminds me of a few different things I read in the past.

An anthro? Anthros could be interesting... I've done something like that before... It came as a result from watching 'Avatar'... It just wasn't... blue aliens that look like cats... lol. But I wouldn't mind doing an Anthro type RP. Haven't done many of those. :)

Well... it usually involves some kind of quest... gods and goddesses are often involved... magic and battling evil and whatnot. It's not generally as cliche as it sounds... but that's about the only way I can describe it.

With all these ideas put together, I'm starting to get the feel of an "old school" RP like the ones I started off with. Some motley crew of characters embarking on some fantastic quest... I do like how versatile those tend to be.

I remember those!! That's where my namesake Xera came from, lol. :P

But yeah... Anthros.. Quests... Magic and Mayhem... lol... Any kind of plot structure coming to mind? I'm at least starting to think of character designs.. heh. :3

~__~ One of my biggest issues has always been plots. I get so worked up about a character or a vague idea, then can't figure out what kind of story to put it into. But maybe we can work one around them instead of the other way around.

The drawing I'm doing right now is a cat-like chick, lol. Alright, good then. I've already started a sketch of a cat girl. More cat in the face, too. :) When I'm done sketching I'll scan and post up a link for ya.

Hmm... I think a more moden/scifi ish setting would be better... With flying cars and that sort of thing... but.... there's still magic? Maybe magic powers the technology?

Modern/sci-fi setting would definitely be something out of the ordinary for me. I like the sound of it.

I would assume so.. unless we set it to way way back to where it's just them and it's all tribally or something, lol. Although I'm doodling.. and I seemed to have made Jean into something like a superhero.. lol. :P
