        I am looking for a Severus Snape / OC roleplay.
        My OC will be posted in the following post. I MAY EVEN BE WILLING TO PLAY SNAPE.<3
        
        Some things you should know before continuing;
        o1. I love literacy. I don't mean novel sized posts or anything of that nature. Two paragraphs will do- or even one if it's a healthy size. Correct spelling is a must. Nearly every internet browser/computer has spell check these days...there is no excuse. Of course, everyone makes mistakes and I will overlook. <3
        
        o2. I'm new to this site..so I'm not sure how one on ones go down on here. I'd assume it'd be like any other site like this. PM, thread, yahoo messenger...those are all acceptable means of roleplaying for me.
        
        o3. Yes, Severus isn't one for all those cuddly romantics but I would like bonding between the characters. I have a few plots in mind, so just ask! I would like for Snape to stay as true to character as possible.
        
        o4. This roleplay would take place in the sixth book setting. It would also be student/teacher. My character is eighteen...so this is legal, haha. If this bothers you somehow I'm sorry. <3 I like student/teacher fandoms.

Althea was born on September 7th seventeen years ago to the happy couple of Vincent Mirna and Ghita Mellis. Vincent was a of a pure magical decent and his wife was without a stitch of magic in her blood. They met at the young age of twenty on a sandy beach in Greece while Vincent was on vacation for London. He fell in love the with woman instantly despite the fact she was a pure muggle. Ghita, being a mix of understanding / young / and in love, accepted his lifestyle of wizardry finding it exciting and exotic rather than terrifying and different. A year later they were married on the same beach in Greece- despite the disapproval from both parentage. A year after that their first child, a healthy baby girl, was born into the world of muggles and magic.

Growing up the Mirna's could tell that their child was going to be different. To Vincent's pleasure he discovered at a young age that his daughter inherited his magical abilities. Ghita was also thrilled, she was entranced by the ways of witches and wizards and was pleased that her child was going to get to experience a life different than her own upbringing. The Mellis' weren't as accepting of their granddaughter's "disorder", as they called it. They had high hopes that she would be grow to be a doctor / secretary / waitress / anything muggle. A letter on her tenth birthday disposed of all such hopes for Alcine and Acantha Mellis.

Unfortunately, Althea had another set of grandparent's to win approval of; the Mirna's. Claude and Janice Mirna were a lot like the witch and wizard version of Alcine and Acantha. They were hateful, stuck-up and viewed themselves superior to Vincent and Ghita because of their choice of marriage. This also meant that they felt superior to Althea would wasn't at all of pure decent. With the Mirna's Althea did have a chance of winning some approval and this was to make the family house. The Mirna was a long, long line of Slytherin before Althea's father- who had been Ravenclaw. Still, Ravenclaw was better than Gryffindor. Before that everyone in both Claude's family and Janice's had been Slytherin.

Janice even gave Althea a family ring- it was a silver snake that coiled it's way around the index finger with an emerald jewel encrusted on his flat, serpent head. Janice had hopes that the sorting hat would recognize the ring and recognize that Althea was a Slytherin by blood. At age ten Althea had already succeeded in crushing both of her grandparent's expectations. At the sorting ceremony her first year she was called out close to the middle and the sorting hat was placed on her head and it whispered merrily;

Ah, another Mirna; always
a pleasure. Let's see...
you are smart, like your
father, but you are by no
means a Ravenclaw.
Hufflepuff would be glad to have
you in their house but that isn't

Gryffindor was indeed where Althea belonged. Vincent and Ghita were thrilled, though Ghita didn't really understand the importance of houses. Her paternal grandparents didn't congratulate her or really ever acknowledge much after that. Janice never asked for the ring back- maybe it had lost it's meaning to her after a Gryffindor wore it. Though Althea had really grown to despise her grandparents she kept the ring on and never once took it off.

At age Eighteen Althea is your typical girl. Sometimes she shows signs of her Slytherin blood which now seems was probably a hard decision for the sorting hat seeing that she sometimes has a bitter attitude. When it boils down to it- Althea would take a curse for a friend in a heartbeat. She is smart where it counts but hasn't taken up the ability of her father in potions or her mother's amazing cooking abilities. This is most likely because of how easily distracted she becomes in most situations. It is hard for her to put her needs before others and that often lands her into trouble.
