No problem at all! Completely understand that it's not something you're interested in - I've been in the same situation so it's really no biggie :) The last RP I tried with this my partner bailed so I'm trying to find someone else - not many people interested in HP though! lol
And just to clarify, I wasn't talking about a Professor that was like, 40-50s - my idea of Severus was mid-20s, only in his first 6 or so years of teaching - wasn't sure if that was the impression you were getting so wanted to clarify xD;

Glad to see you're up and running again, Mageling! I completely agree... if my hard drive went out I'd be completely lost. x_x
I only watched the first two seasons, myself but I should say that I tend to be a bigger fan of creating original characters to fit into the world mechanics rather than take over canon characters. I could try using canon characters if you'd prefer it, however.

Mythos, you are totally speaking my language. I have no problems at all creating OCs to throw into the universe. What age are you figuring for the characters?

Please pardon the break, I had a bit of a crunch in my schoolwork but I'm over that now.
I've added this thread to my subscriptions so it shouldn't happen again-- not without warning, at least. : )
Keeping to the series would have us building young teens but I think later teens could also work out well. I'm imagining characters that are old enough to take care of themselves (more-or-less) but not old enough to be completely logical about their situation... not that there is much logical about their situation so perhaps the early twenties would be a possible choice.
In all either 10-14, 15-19 or 20-24.

I think between fifteen and nineteen is a good age range. They're old enough to be able to look after themselves without wanting to run to an authority figure about everything, but still young enough to be able to handle all of the strange things without freaking out too much.

Sounds perfect to me!
I think I need to buff up on a few episodes of the first series before we start, but that shouldn't take too long.

Two each and their digimon would be fine to start out with. There is always the option of adding more ala Kari in the series.
I'm not sure about a plot just yet... I'll work on a few tomorrow and see which you'd prefer out of them-- or if you'd like to merge/edit them in anyways, I'm cool with that. : )

YOU WILL NOT RUE THIS DAY!
Now that I have followed your first request for roleplaying with you, I would like to mention my time table to see if it is acceptable to you. I have been known to reply to roleplays within the same day, but sometimes my brain shuts down. So if you would have me, I would do my best to respond within two or three days. If I need more time, I generally ask for it. If my roleplaying partner has a tendency to not respond more than once a week, then I return the favor after a few replies. Still, more often than once a week would definitely be nice.
The genre I prefer the most is fantasy, so to have seen it on your list is something I am definitely excited about. Beyond that, I have no plot idea or characters currently in mind. I tend to prefer roleplaying with people so that each of us has two characters: a male and a female. That way neither partner is faced with playing just one or the other. What do you think?

I think you and I will be a good match. Did you have any sort of craving in mind by way of fantasy?

Awesome, then I have my characters ready to go whenever you're ready. Just let me know when you're set to start hashing out a plot.

I would like to have a mage character, but I have strict rules with mages so I can guarantee there won't be a Mary Sue problem there. I also would love to have an archer that has no magical ability. Beyond those thoughts, I can't think of anything in particular. Fighting, action, and a little comedy are all good elements...
Is there anything you would like to have or do?

I am horrible at explaining. I can only give an example. There was a roleplay with a mage who was an elf. She could use a little fire magic. Then suddenly there was a magical pet that could raise people to life. Then there was the ability to see anywhere she wanted and then to teleport there... then she had amazing archery skills, martial arts skills, and was then able to use a lot of other magic too. It destroyed the conflict that the other characters were going against and stopped the roleplay for proceeding since the whole point of that roleplay was saving the world after the bad guy stole a treasure. Saving the world before the treasure was stolen ended everything.

Interesting... If I'm understanding it right, your character just kept accumulating powers until she was perfect? That's not really going to work in any roleplay with me. I really feel like characters need to have limits and major flaws and other things like that to make them interesting and bearable and fun to work with. Maybe I'm not reading it right or something.

No, not my character. The Mary Sue character that I hated and now fear someone putting into a roleplay.
You asked me about the Mary Sue problem that I like to avoid. That is the problem right there, characters who ruin roleplays by taking away conflict.
Which is why I said my mage would have limits. That way I would not have a character that becomes a Mary Sue.

Alright, that's what I wasn't quite getting. Now we're on the same page again. I'm glad someone else has a violent allergic reaction to Sues, too, it's hard to find people like that sometimes.

Sadly that is true. It seems that the more often I come across them, the reaction intensifies. So I fear what would happen if it occurred again. Okay so I have a general idea of my characters, but haven't worked out bios, appearances, strengths or weaknesses yet. Do you have an suggestions on the type of world we are dropping our poor characters into?

Yuck, even with another day to figure out plots I'm rather robbed of anything to get us really going.
So far everything pretty much mimics the first season in that the characters are sent to the world without knowing anything about it or how to function while they are there.
As for starters I've considered:
- People who vaguely know one another from the same company... one which does a lot of work with computers (game design, media, etc.) drawn into a calm location because of an error.
- Strangers from different parts of the world/countries of origin (if we're limiting it) drawn into a desolate and wrecked world because of dire necessity to put it straight.
- A 'veteran' group within the digital world is altering how the world works and triggered new heroes to be called in without their knowing.
There are definitely a lot more things that could start us out and sadly I don't have more for what comes next just yet... : \
Definitely should sit myself down and watch more to refresh.

Mythos: What if a pair of veterans stumbles across a pair of newbies in the digital world and has to help them? My two are a set of twins, and I think it would be great if one was a digital world veteran without the other knowing, and then stumbles across their twin suddenly.

That'd work nicely! I'll work on my characters/create some bios and we can go from there.
Do we want to figure out a crisis now or later?

I think we should work on a crisis now, so we're not floundering for one. Maybe the digital world had some sort of self-destruct code that was accidentally tripped, and they have to find a way to stop it from finishing and deleting everything?

Very neat!
Perhaps, to add to the drama, if somethings get too close to 'missing files' they start to malfunction but can still move around. That way the characters can interact with these without being in immediate danger of ending up in a void or something similar to that.
