In 2027, a program aired with a message from the Global Environmental Protection Agency (GEPA), stating that they had discovered a way to rid earth of pollutants once and for all. A satellite was to be launched and a laser directed and fired at the moon. In 2029, the mission was carried out, and the results were devastating. Earth started to change. Strange creatures began emerging. A power outage was recorded at record length, with several recurring outages reported for years afterward. War broke out across the globe, nations blaming each other for what had happened when no one party was responsible; it had been a mutual decision, hoping for the better. Millions of people died in battle, and only a handful of Earth’s population escaped. These few thousand survivors discovered a man named Jacob Briggs, a scientist and inventor who had created the ROVET, a time traveling chip implanted in a trigger of the user’s choosing—watch, ring, cell phone.
With this chip, those lucky few found their way into the future, one where the moon is still red, a glaring reminder of what went down, and the source of constant unnerve. Could it happen again? Everything seems so normal in the future while one isn’t looking up, but everyone is jumpy, untrusting of one another. Who is friend and who is foe? And why are those who went to Mr. Briggs slowly disappearing, dropping off, never heard from again? There’s talk of banding together, starting a rebellion and building an underground headquarters, away from the seemingly all-seeing eyes of androids associated with Briggs. Talk of going back in time and erasing the red moon from history.
