So in my ramblings across the internet, I've come across a number of things that have caught my interest. Most recently, I have been struck by the story of Joseph Carey Merrick (better known to the world as The Elephant Man. He was apparently quite intelligent for all his grotesque appearance, and very kind as well. Tragically, he died at age 27 of a dislocated neck. It is thought that this occurred when Merrick, who usually slept in a sitting position due to his swollen skull, attempted to sleep while lying down--so he could "be like other people."

The wikipedia page has way more detail than this. I highly recommend reading the article about this man. He was quite extraordinary.

But anyway, I was just curious to see if anyone might be interested in participating in a one-on-one involving this character. Perhaps something involving romance (Merrick was a lonely fellow, I'm sure)? I don't even know if anyone would be interested, but I thought I'd ask. ^^
