Yes, I have an expansive and ever-widening vocabulary. The only problem with it right now is that, since I'm learning Japanese, I often find myself stuck between the two languages. :)
So, what would you like to roleplay? |
Well, we could either do a Star Wars kind of theme. I, too, have only watched the movies. We could always make up some scenario. Sith X is out to destroy the world, but the young heroes A and B need to race against time to save a planet from the brink of destruction. Utter chaos will ensue and lives will be terminated.
Or we could do something Yozakura Quartet-like. The supernatural creatures guarding a city when a group of criminals stumble into their peaceful village. They (the baddies) disrupt the balance and really cause a bunch of mayhem. It's up to a small band of heroes to put an end to their sinister plots. There is always the option of making something up, too. If you have any setting, plot, genre, etc. ideas, share them. I'm usually pretty good at coming up with story lines. I've been a GM for 25+ games. A decent amount have been original ideas. I rarely borrow ideas from another (TV, movie, etc.). |
GM? I feel embarrassed to admit I don't know what that is, but I'm going to assume it has something to do with (and feel free to shoot me if I'm wrong) Dungeons and Dragons? *ducks*
In any case, as I haven't yet seen Yozakura Quartet, let's go with Star Wars. I'd like to flesh out the world before Anakin Skywalker messed it all up. Maybe a young Yoda as the only familiar character, and everything else a fairly free palette of interconnected worlds and the Jedi Knights as one order of justice among them. I haven't designed a character in a long time, so I'm welcome to input. I work really well within a set world, though, I think. Edit: That is, I haven't seen Yozakura Quartet apart from the single episode of the OVA that I translated, but I liked it enough to get the whole show. |
A GM, game master, is usually associated with D&D, but lately, it has been a term used on role playing sites. It's pretty much the term used to describe the narrator, creator, and developer of a story. :)
All right, Star Wars it is! Now are we thinking the second movie or the first half of the third movie? Also, for the record, I try to avoid canon characters as I feel I do a terrible job staying true to the character. If you're okay with having the canon characters be NPCs, non playable characters, it would be easier for me. Before we can start, what planet shall we start on? And do we, at any point, want a romantic relationship to form? If so, who will be male and who will be th female? |
Ah, so I was kind of right -- I spent a single year involved with AD&D, thanks to one disastrous boyfriend, and that was, er, too many years ago to admit to... Anyway
I'm thinking before the movies, actually. In a "Golden Age" of Jedi Knights about 100 years before the movies start, so the only canon character to worry about is Yoda. Or maybe that makes the world far too open to play in? An alternate suggestion, then, would be contemporaneous with Luke Skywalker's childhood, filling in the time between movies 3 and 4. (Y'know, every time I think about A New Hope I think of that Family Guy parody... "Let's start with Part Four." LOL) Ahem. So there would be the familiar cast of figures in power on the Dark Side, and the older characters from the Rebels, but none of the characters from movies 4-6 would be active, so to speak. Romance is always titillating, but it's not necessary for me to enjoy a story. I'm heading to bed now, actually (I'm in Japan, so it's GMT+9, I believe), and I'll think some more about the setup overnight. |
:O I like that. Baby Yoda years. LMAO. And by baby I mean he'll still be old as dirt. XD
If we did that then, obviously, there wouldn't be any stormtroopers. But that would be okay. It would just mean real people were dying rather than clones. Maybe life would have a different meaning and sense of respect? ^^; I've actually only seen three Family Guy episodes so I have no idea what you were talking about. Family Guy doesn't really interest me. ^^; Gah, you had to go and bring up a future SW idea. I like this one, too. If it were 20 years after the end of VI, then we could have the older characters, plus newer ones. And then we could come up with a new source of evil! Could be fun. >< I'm torn between them both. So how many characters would we be playing? One and one at the start? And then we can acquire more? And would we be young Jedi studying under someone? Or would we be the teacher? Sorry for the questions. I just like hashing some things out before diving into something. |
Hm, after VI? That might be interesting. Rebuilding the world, reincorporating the stormtrooper clones?
Questions are good; hashing things out is great. I would think the best way is to set up a fixed place, like a Jedi school, and each have one character... OOOHOOOHOOOH if we go with the post-VI: Stormtrooper clone dealing with identity crisis while trying to become a Jedi. Remember that training starts really young... Maybe someone who didn't realize he was a clone until he went out into the world? |
I'm thinking Padawans for the both of us. A clone that became a Jedi Apprentice would be awesome! The other could be... well, anything. Actually, either could be anything. Don't want to lock out options. So is there a race and gender you would like to be? I'm feeling a male for myself with maybe some animal-like qualities. Maybe from a distant planet? Or maybe a planet that was recently discovered?

Why don't we both take on one student character and one teacher character for now? The action would be on... oh, gawd, what was that planet's name? ... Coruscant. I'm going to take the liberty of creating an RP thread and an OOC thread, so we can unclutter your roleplay requests thread. ---------- Here's our RP thread: scholar x wavzik: Star Wars And here's the OOC thread: http://www.menewsha.com/forum/showth...post1770159383 |
I can make some fancy banner/title art, if you'd like. :D
|
Banner art is awesome. I can't draw!
|
Finally have time to roleplay.
Looking for partners. :) |
ZOMG HAI!!!
Great to know you're back. Anyways, I'd be interested in doing a roleplay with you. I'm not exactly sure as to what I want to do, but I can probably think of a pairing and plot idea sometime soon. I can usually do 2+ paragraphs depending on my mood and what I have to work with. I try my best to have correct punctuation and grammar, and I try my best to make intriguing characters for a roleplay. In saying all this, I hope you will accept me as a roleplay partner. ~ Sincerely, electric rain. |
Ha ha. All right. Whatcha into? And which gender do you prefer to play?
|
I prefer to play female, but I can hardly care which I play. Though I'm still developing my skills with males. =\ And i'm into a lot of different things though mostly I do supernatural, fantasy, and mythology.
|
Awesome! I prefer playing male. :D And fanatasy / supernatural sounds great. What kind of plots are you into?
|
I like the idea of having like, two complete rivals brought together by a tragedy that effect both of them. Like a roleplay I'm doing now has two furry rivals who attacked in a jungle and killed each other's hunting partners and then went back home to find their villages destroyed and nothing to give them clues as to who or what killed everything.
So like, something like that. And then me and my partner for that one are like, going through the story and adding on more characters and mor sub-plots as we go. =3 So thing like that whee there's a lot of fighting, a touch of comedy, and some romance are what get me into a roleplay the most. |
That works. :D Rivals that come together due to the fact that they are A) alone and B) need to survive and can't do it without the other.
So rather than doing a jungle, would a city setting work? Not that I wanna do zombies, but I feel like zombies go best with the city setting. Post-apocalyptic and all. Would that work? |
Still looking~

ZOMG, HI !
I see nothing wrong with a bit of structure in a role play... : ) do dark colors bother you? |
Nope, not at all. :) I just don't like the obnoxious neon or insanely bright colors. XD
|
Alright cool. (Same here. There are always alternative colors to the neon such as pastels, I suppose)
so what sort of rp are you looking to try and do with a mate? (ie. action, fantasy, mystery, everyday life with twists, super natural...) |
Yuppers. The only time I use colors in when I'm having my characters speak. XP
And I'm into everything you listed. It's just hard finding something original and epic. |
Still looking! I'm also interested in joining some awesome group roleplays. :)
|
ZOMG, HI!
I haven't been scared away, I feel so fearless. Hahaha. Anyways, I would love to role-play with you if you'll have me as a partner. On the list of things you liked i noticed some common ground: LOST, The Mentalist, D.Gray Man, Code Geass, and Death Note. Perhaps we could do something similar to one of these or even an original plot. I'm open to any ideas you may have. Well I hope you find my reply satisfactory and if so I look forward to writing with you. Have a nice day. :3 |
