not really, but I think I'd want to avoid anything too cliched. It's the kind of idea that lends itself to that after all.

Maybe the two friends meet again while on vacation, but they both live far from each other and when they go back home, they do what they can to keep in contact.

I don't know anything about cruises myself. Beach, camping, tourist city like Paris. I don't know.
