Throughout the entire history of the world, people have been born with abilities a cut above the ordinary. At times, these people were respected, holding offices in their society as healers, advisors, or even soldiers. Unfortunately, this has not been the case the majority of the time. Usually, these gifted individuals are ostracized and detested, if not outright killed. In recent times, this has been the case. Children who are not yet able to control their gift are abused or abandoned for it. Sometimes, these children are slain by mobs in a public setting. Over the decades, however, a school has been built to take in these children and teach them to control their gifts, with a heavy emphasis on using them to do good in society. The school is a haven to those who have a gift, as it is set outside of any country's realm of jurisdiction and thus free from all laws regarding children with superpowers. For whatever reason, this is where you end up, struggling to keep your power under control in a world that doesn't understand and doesn't care. Will you step up to the challenge and prove them wrong?
Sorry if that was a little lackluster; I lack an affinity for the dramatic. ;) The basic premise behind this will be somewhat similar to X-men, at least in terms of children with powers. The primary source of the conflict will most likely be the government wanting control of the school, or the outside world wanting the kids inside gone. The plot is definitely something that I believe should be worked on by all of the members of the roleplay, so it's not concrete or all that thought out yet. I'm actually really eager to see what kind of ideas you guys will have to offer. :3
In regards to powers, there are only a few things that won't be allowed. Any Omni- power is prohibited, no exceptions. If a power encompasses all of a set of any abilities, it's classified as an Omni- power. For example, being able to use every psychic power is an Omni- power. Really, just try and balance out your character's strengths and weaknesses. This is a casual roleplay, so I trust you guys can judge that fairly well.
As for expectations, I do expect fairly regular posts. Once a day would be wonderful, definitely, but I'm happy with three or four a week if life gets hectic. :D Quality is far more important than quantity after all. I really, really don't want to see any one-liners. At all. Nothing kills the drive to write for me more than having nothing to respond to. Hopefully that won't be too much of a problem.
I think that's all for now, but if I forgot anything, feel free to ask! Character skeletons will be up in the OOC after I get a couple of response here saying that they're interested! :D
