Lucy glanced over to Dawn as they watched the snow fall from beneath the large branches of the willow tree in central park. "Having fun, Dawn?" she asked with a smile emerging from her black and red striped scarf.
|
"Since when was it fun to watch snow drop off of trees?" Dawn punched Lucy slightly in the arm. Laughing to himself, he laid back, only to be hit by snow falling from the branches above them.
|
Lucy giggled. "It's not like there is anything better to do here!" She boomed with cheer.
|
[[I just noticed this was in 1x1 requests. XD I thought this would be considered a private rp? o3o]] Picking out snow from around his neck left his hands frozen with cold, so instead, Dawn tried to get the snow to just fall off. He popped his shirt, but the snow only fell in, giving him a more iced feeling. "And what makes you so happy today?" Dawn asked, bring his knees in to melt any remaining pieces of ice. |
((well at least you found it! :D ))
"I guess just this moment. I know... it sounds stupid but in this place, well, this is best time ever for me!" she announced. A moment of silence then overcame them both. "Dawn..." she began, ending the silence "Would you like to leave this place with me?" |
Dawn looked at her. He stared for a few moments before he finally said anything. When he did, it was a whisper in Lucy's ear.
"But how are we going to do it?" His voice cracked even though he was beyong puberty years. |
Lucy began to ponder. "No idea... None! Whatsoever" She then stood up and began to brush the snow off of her jacket. "Do you have any ideas?" she asked.
((I'm having writers block right now! sorry)) |
[[Haha, it's okay. XP]] "Okay then...well first..." Dawn grabbed Lucy's hand. "We run!" He dragged her up but stopped. "To our house and pack a few things." He smiled a little at the shocked expression Lucy had when he pulled her up. |
Lucy then punched his arm in a playful manor and laughed. "We'll meet right back here, at this tree, after packing?" she asked.
|
"Haha, sure," he started in the other direction, looking back once in a while to see her growing smaller and smaller as the distance between them widened.
Finally reaching his house, Dawn knocked on the sturdy maple door. When no one answered, he turned the doorknob. Not expecting it to open, Dawn fell right through and hit the floor. The sound of pain left his mouth as an inhaling of air through clenched teeth. Crawling to his knees and eventually standing back up, he noticed that nobody was home. This was not unusual, but the door wasn't usually left open. The silver key under the plant pot was used in cases such as this. A glance back outside found the key still there. Despite this, it would still make it a heck alot easier to pack. Dawn run up the stairs into his room, grabbing his backpack off the door's handle. He filled it halfway with extra clothes and camping tools. Seeing as how he was already wearing a heavy jacket, he ran back down to fill up on a bit of food. A jar of extra crunchy peanut butter and a full loaf of bread went in first, followed by an unopened carton of milk and a large bottle of water. This was all that the pack could fit. Dawn hoisted it onto his back and secured the straps to make travel easier. As he was walking towards the door, he purposley smacked his own head. How could he be so stupid? Running back upstairs and into his "guardian's" room, he opened a clothing drawer. $500 of a small secret stash laid there and $500 did Dawn take. After stuffing the money into his own pocket, now he was ready to go. Not even bothering to close the door behind him as he exited his house, he headed back to the park. The empty streets made it useless to hurry about with a full backpack. [[That was pretty long 0.0]] |
Lucy watched as Dawn left and did the same in the opposite direction. Her house was small but homey. She walked in to see her family was gone, again. It was obvious that they would be gone since no one wanted to be in that stupid town anyways.
"Alright, what to pack what to pack," she mummbled to herself as she began packing her things into a small case that looked like a briefcase that was no bigger than a pillow. She placed her clothes and hygene supplies along with her pencils and paper so she could write down her music that played in her head. "Okay then! I think I have everything!" she announced as she calmly walked out of her room and home. Outside of her home, after closing the door behind her, she dug her hand deep into her pocket to find $478 which she saved for emergency. "Okay, I didn't forget my money!" she muttered to herself. Now walking to the tree, she watched the empty town lined with empty faces, knowing that they didn't care for her or anyone else. Only for the small little town they called home. |
Dawn found Lucy looking somewhat at the town, but somewhat above and beyond it. Her back faced him, so he tried to sneak up to her, but a clinking noise from one of the zippers gave him away.
"Soo...where to now?" he asked as they began walking out of the town and down a snowy hill. Squirrels chattered amongst themselves as the two ducked beneath low trees, heading northeast. |
"Any where but here sounds nice!" She exclaimed. "There's a small town just north of here that we could stay at to make a more detailed plan!"
|
"Alright." Dawn led the way as they trudged through the fallen snow. The sun, though shining, glared at them through the reflections of the white, hard powder.
The sounds of following feet was muffled by the pure sound of nature. |
