AT THE MOMENT GEISHABERRY IS: Busy finishing up college!!

Allow me to introduce myself! My username is geishaberry, but typically on the tubes, people call me maji or keytar (depending on what gender I am masquerading as :sarcasm:). I am a female 20-something soon-to-be college graduate with a major in Linguistics and a minor in Japanese. Outside of writing my interests include gaming (I'm more of an FPS/American gamer than a J-RPGer, though), folklore and mythology, being overly judgmental, kitties and food (I love food so much ;3; ). Now that you know a bit about me, allow me to get to the serious details.

I am looking for: Solo or group RP!
Content-wise, I prefer:
+ Narrative writing with really good spelling and grammar. I find third person past tense much easier to do in a group or one-on-one, but am not opposed to present tense (as a note, I find first person to be a bit creepy :sweat:)
+ An original setting, although I am totally open to non-crossover series stuff.
+ A plot that does not revolve completely around characters' romantic relationships.
+ If a romantic relationship does seem to be developing, I would rather work toward it slowly. I am put off by people throwing themselves at my character and even more so if I am expected to throw my character at someone else's.

Genres I Like:
+ Sci-Fi: In general, I really dig sci-fi. From invading aliens on earth to piloting spacecraft in the delta quadrant.
+ Horror: I love zombies. Holy crap.
+ Dystopian Future: I love zombies in the future. Holy crap.
+ Fantasy: Within moderation, I enjoy fantasy.
+ Historical Period: In particular, I enjoy 1900 - 1959, which would basically be Industrialization era through World War II.
+ Spy: ROFL 8D;;;
+ Kung-Fu: Also ROFL 8D;;;
+ Mythology: Greek, Norse, Japanese, Chinese and American Tall Tales interest me.
+ Magical Girl: Is my dirty pleasure. I love love love magical girl settings. 83
+ Supers: Similar to magical girl, but with less super perky Japanese teens and more AMERICA WOO. Or something.
Series/Settings I Like to RP In: Any well developed original setting, Sailor Moon, Final Fantasy Tactics, FF IX, Bioshock, Soul Calibur, Silent Hill

Genres and Settings I am not interested in:
+ Harry Potter. I'm currently involved in at least one HP game and am kind of burnt out.
+ Heroes, most movie-based canons for superhero stuff.
+ Sexyhottiegothy Vampires.
+ Most newer anime J-RPG stuff, as I don't really watch or play it.
+ Square-Enix, aside from what I mentioned, or an original, Final Fantasy-esque setting.
+ Furry. ROFL. Oh god. It hurts to even type.

I play:
+ Male or female! I am open to both!
+ Males that are typically very socially awkward (geeks and dweebs).
+ Females that are typically somewhat more masculine. Not bitchy. I don't do mean characters very well.
+ Pretty much any sexuality, although, as I mentioned, romance tends to take a back seat for me when I write. I typically feel very awkward in those situations. XD; I do not write sex scenes.

OKAY SO. Now that I have scared away like everyone with my stupid thread title and lengthy lists, I'm going to devote just a bit more space to some elaboration. :sweat:

I love writing in groups and have a little experience writing one-on-one, but am open to either. I assure you, though, that I am a competent writer with the occasional good idea. ;) As mentioned, I am looking for creative writing with good spelling and grammar - extremely literate, I guess is the term people like to use now.

I am not against RPing a love story, but I would like some plot or character development outside of the mookie eyes and the kisses and cuddles and drama. I am open to f/m, m/m and f/f, but I do not go into writing thinking "Alright! I am looking for some homo/hetero lovin!" My character's sexuality is almost never determined before I start writing them.

I tend to be flaky and randomly very busy, so don't get worried if I disappear for a while. I'm assuming I will have exchanged AIM/email/journal URLs with you/the mod of the RP group, and you can contact me any number of ways and I will reply as soon as I get a chance. If I do not think that a RP is going to work out for me, I will probably PM you or the person in charge to let you know; I won't leave you hanging.
