Safia sat at her usual corner in the far right side of the tables. She quickly piled eggs, waffles, pancakes, and toast on her plate and began to eat hungrily. When she was almost done the headmistress rose for announcements. She was a tall stirct women but had a sweet calm voice. " I would like to announce that the Fall Formal will be held in two weeks time. Everybody needs a date and you have plenty of time to find one". She sat down and continued her meal as an excited chatter of girls arose. Safia thought of Flyboy it was really impossible the whole thing could have been a joke. Her inbox spent three years of nothing but spam and school notes.

[You know, Im not sure, but I think I want Christopher to fall for Safia. Is that okay with you?]

Christopher heard the headmistress's announcement. This could be fun, he thought. Maybe he would ask Safia to meet him there. It would be so romantic for their first meeting. But he couldn't meet her until he had studied and fully understood everything in Engine 87. He could not go there and look stupid. He picked at his food, not used to going without blood for so long. He hadn't thought of it before he left, and he didn't want to start a war with Sky Tech...yet. He would just have to do with ordering his hamburger rare and eating that.

OOC: Yeah sure I would like to fall for you too.

Safia picked up her books and rushed to the elevator. To her horror a sign read "Out of Order". She would have to climb who knows what flights to her sector. Fifteen minutes later she was there. The class was half full and a sign on the board read "Sit down and study will be back soon".

Christopher spent the day in his room reading Engine 87. He figured he knew enough to be in class the next day by the time he had finished reading the book three times and searching things on the internet. He finally had time to message Safia again.

Dear Safia,

I'm sorry I wasn't in class today. I had things to do. I was wondering...would you like to go to the dance with me?

He could almost taste the blood.

When Safia returned from Engine 87 a new e-mail message awaited her. She quickly skimmed trough the e-mail and noticed a few interesting points. He wasn't in class but he was at breakfast because he knew about the Fall Formal. But that did not matter he wanted to go to the Formal with her. With none other than nerdy space wiz engineer Safia. She bgan to type back, slowly, for her hands cramped:

Dear T.M.,

It's OK Ms. Buringtion was not there. I believe she was out fixing those vampire detectors that broke so we had to spend all class studying. I woul be glad to go to the Formal with you. See you in class tommorrow.

Your future (girlfriend? :))

She pressed the send button then lied down on her bed. She, Safia, had a friend for the first time. NAd his name was something with a T.M.

Topher sat up on his bed. Oooh, he had a new message. He read it and laughed. His plan was working all too well. Broken vampire detectors? What ludicrous. he typed out a new message with one finger, poking each key sharply, like a stacatto. It added punctuality.

Dear Safia,

(And he stopped, for he could not think of anything to say.)

I was thinking I could...meet you at the dance.

T. M.

He hit send.

[Crap I forgot what the M stood for.]

Safia heard the beep and as if by insticnt rushed o her computer,skimmed through the message, and started her reply:

Well see you there and if you are not busy T.M send me anytime to study together. See you oon.

Topher smiled. Yes, see you there, Safia. And prepare your blood. he did not reply to this message. Instead, he closed his eyes. He did not sleep, he could not, but he dreamt in his waking state. He dreamt of warm, red blood and the taste of iron. Maybe she would say something funny before he killed her. Or better yet, maybe he would turn her. Tomorrow, he would have himself a look at this Safia.

Safia waited a while for his reply but it never came. Se looked at the clock 10:54. She better get some sleep. She shanged to her PJs and thistim decided that she would sleep on the top bunk. She slept and dreamt of strangely blood. It was weird but she saw blood re in everything she drem of.

The next morning, Topher got to the lunch room earlier than everyone else. Her blood called to him, he should be able to notice her as soon as she walked in. He studied each girl, none of them registering in his mind.

When Safia woke up that morning she did her usual schedule: shower, dress, sit on the same spot, and eat. This time she noticed a guy with blue eyes scanning the Dinning Hall. Headmistress better not spot him. She thinks looking is unaccrptable in her school. But oh well its his business why should I care.

Topher was startled when it turned out to be the mousy girl from his fist day. Her blood sang to him, drawing him nearer, but he had to resist. Not until the dance. He would have to restrain himself. He pusred his lips. She was a bit messy, and timid, but still pretty. Or at least, she had potential, if she would maybe put a little make-up on, and let her hair down. Maybe some new clothes, a little less baggy. Oh, and if she smiled. Topher relished the thought. After seeing Safia, Topher got up and walked out of the hall, fully aware that the headmistress was very strict and would probably have his head. He headed ot his dorm, grabbing his books and getting ready for class.

Safia finished her breakfast hurriedly as she watched the blue-eyed guy look at her then exit the Hall. Oh well she thought. She quickly went back to her dorm took her books and headed for Engine 87. Luckily the elevator worked and she was there in no time. A note on the board read " Find a partner and work in pairs on part of te engine. Tables labeled pick a label and work on it.". Great she thought partners nobody would pick her.

Topher showed up a little late because he had to find his class. Class hadn't started, but everyone esle was there. He read the note about partners and looked around. Safia was there he noticed, but he didn't think he should ask her right off. It would be too obvious. He decidedf to let someone pick him.

Safia sat there at table three waiting for a partner. While she waited she looked at her project. It was the backup booster for an engine. It was really difficult you needed to be an expert space engineer to figure it out. The wires, pipes and exahusts hooked to the bacup battery. When she looked up there stood the blue-eyed guy. She thought he was looking st her but he turned his head when she saw him.

Topher walked up to the teacher's desk and waited for the teacher to get there, so he could give him his transfer papers. He tried not to look directly at Safia, knowing how humans could sense things, whether they had powers or not. He took a seat at the table closest the teacher's desk, so he could be ready when the teacher got there.

Safia waited then finally gave up. The blue eyed boy was sitting i front the the classroom. He and her were the only ones without partners. Is he waiting for the teacher she thought she won't be in here for quite a while. They are trying to stop the vampires. Suddenly, Safia's body began to change her eyes began to turn blood red and memories came back. Oh no she thought the disguise potion its failing me. She got up and quickly rushed o the bathroom.

[Oh wow, is Safia gonna be a vampire?]

Topher heard someone rush out of the room. He turned around and the only one missing was Safia. What had happened? His little toy was having trouble? She ran out of there much too fast for it to be just a random thing. She must be sick or something. No one seemed to be doing anything. They must not care that someone is sick. Christopher was disgusted. He may be a demon, but at least he knew when someone needed help. Stupid, ignorant humans. He left his note on the teacher's desk and ran out of the room, trying to find Safia. He searched the bathrooms first. "Hello?" he called into the girl's side.

Safia heard somebody say "Hello". She looked at herself. Her eyes were th color of deep redish brown blood. Oh no I can not let anyone see me like this she thought. She quickly covered her bangs so that most of her eyes were no visible. And in her best acting voice she uttered out a "I am perfectly OK" reply. "Who's there?" she said.

Christopher walked into the girl's bathroom. There was only one girl in there, he could hear her. And by the sound of her voice, she was certainly not okay. He tried not to breathe in the bathroom, his nose would pick up more smells than he wanted, but a few smells did get in there. And one of them was certainly not human. He wasn't sure if he was smelling himself, or there was another vampire there. vampires could be undetecable by other vampires if they wanted to be. In his most calming voice, he asked, "Safia?"

"Yes" she replied. Something in the back of her head told her it was OK to pull back her bangs but she did not obey. "What do you want, who are you ?" she asked in a menacing tone that she did not intend. She looked up. It was the blue-eyed guy who was in class. She had only seen him in the Dinning Hall and in class she had no idea who he was.

Christopher smiled gently. Although her bangs covered her eyes, something told him she wasn't exactly human. He didn't like contacts. They hampered his vision a bit. If only there was a way he could take them out to get a good look at her. Christopher suspected something. Without warning, he flashed out, grabbing her by the wrist and bringing it to his mouth. He bit into her, and she most definately tasted like vampire. He frowned. What a odd, and somewhat disappointing turn to his plot. He would not be drinking delicious human blood tomorrow night. He released her hand and stood there, staring at her without a word.

"Vampires can't bite vampires, silly" Safia said. For a moment there she thought he was going to kiss her. "Can you help me, go to my dorm room in the third drawer you will see a flask labeled 'Disguise' can you grab that for me really quick.

Christopher narrowed his eyes. "Why should I help you?" he asked her, not really sure if he wanted to help her. Her being a vampire definately changed their relationship. He wasn't even sure if he liked her anymroe.

"Because vampires always help vampires" Safia replied. She could not believe this guy he did not know anything. "You can trust me please I am a vampire, I am your own kin.". She looked over the boy he seemed weak and hungry. He probably thought he could get my blood if I weren't a vampire.
