Did you ever wonder what the wizarding world on the other side of the ocean is like. The School of the Americas? Is it the same? Or is there another way they choose to play the game? Where is it located? Rose academy is a school shrouded in secrets that not even those who attend are able to discern as fully known. A school where students from all over the United States and Canada come together to learn magic of all types and sorts. A school where magic runs rampant and the unexpected and unexplained are common occurrances.

Therefore as the Headmistress Demontra I bid those whose veins run deep with the magical spirit welcome to my school. If you have what it takes to be amongst the others remember this, everyone in these halls are your equals, together we will run with dignity. The friendship you create amongst each other will be the mile stone that keeps you going and keeps you running and will be the will that saves you someday. Without friends we are with nothing.

Information About our School:

Rose Academy is the most well known wizarding establishment in the western Hemisphere. Have originated 300 years ago we are known far and wide for our diverse class schedule. Including many of the things that many other schools find to be a waste of time such as drama, music, and artwork.

Our students are as diverse as our classes and each one is treated with dignity. It is our policy to not turn out any student no matter race, gender, preference or the like. We will be accepting to all students, as is the way of our school and the way of our part of the world.

Our school derives its name from the roses which surround the school. The roses, black or midnight roses, have a magical quality which have guarded our secret for 300 years. Planted by the founded of the school Arianna Morthinagar the roses and Arianna made a pact with one another. The roses would forever bloom under the care of the inhabitants of the castle. In return the roses would forever protect the castle and its secrets. Therefore we have an extensive herbology department which derives to care for our precious roses.

The Rules of Rose Academy:

1) The Headmistress makes the rules, she has the right to change them at anytime
2) Be kind and curtious to your fellow RPers
3) Romance is ok but keep it PG guys
4) You must be literate, if you can not keep up with in the bare minimum 5 sentences per post then this RP is not for you. Remember the more attention to detail the better.
5) All newcomer students will have to take a small questionair to decide which house suits them best.
6) All Profiles are to be PMed to Cora, the Acting Headmistress.
7) All people are allowed two teachers and two students. A total of four characters. You must be able to keep up with all of them. They must all be active characters. If you choose to play more then one character the post must be separated by colors each character with a specific color.

About the Houses:

Athenal (Current House Point Standing: 0)

Named after the Goddess Athena Athenal house favors those students who are both intelligent and proud. The symbol of the Athenal house is the well known symbol of wisdom the owl. The colors of the Athenal house are aqua green and teal.

Heron (Current House Point Standing: 0)

Named after the goddess Hera Heron house favors students of loyalty and fearlessness. The swan is the symbol most suited to the Heron house. The colors of which represent Heron are bright and deep red.

Anditi (Current House Point Standing: 0)

Named after the goddess Aphrodite, Anditi house favors students who are both driven and filled with endless love. The symbol of the Anditi house is the Dove. The colors most representative of Anditi house are Deep Purple and Lavander.

Common Room Set-Up:

The three houses share a large common common-room between the three of them. However they do each have there own smaller common-rooms which lead off into the dorms. Each student has there own magical signature which allows them, through a touch, to get access into there seprate quieter common rooms and dorms.

Personal Description: Despite the fact that she is almost 300 she does not look a day over 16. She is very youthful in appearance due to a gift, or a curse to her she is not sure. She is beautiful by most standards with long silvery blond hair that is almost white. Her hair falls about waist length and is poker straight though she often styles it in elegant knots or braids. Her eyes are soft crystal blue in appearance and are the only part of her appearance and actions that give clue to how much she truly knows. She is fairly short standing at about 5'1" and is rather thin.

History: Before a certain age she does not have much recollection of who she was. One day she woke up in a hospital with no recollection of who she was or where she came from. She came to the conclusion that she was either a loner or else hated by the fact that she had no one show up to claim her from the hospital and decided she didn't want to know. She does not know her true age but due to her knowledge that she found she still retained she found she must be truly old. Over time she also came to realize that she could not age. She for many years traveled from one villege to the next until the people began to realize that she didn't change. This continued until the day she met Dori who would find out her secret and yet not fear her. Dori Demontra was only 18 at that time and the two of them attended a school together. Later after Dori became headmistress Kira came to the school seeking employment and has been at Rose Academy ever since.

Other important information: She can not age and has the gift of eternal youth. She has always been a ditz by nature and acts goofy and childish at times but is really more knowledgeable then she lets on. She has a great attention to detail and knows much more then she lets on. If you pay close enough attention you'll be able to see that her airy statements are not far off from the truth. She has always been in love with Antoine and watched as he fell in love with his would be wife. She never found the heart to tell him she loved him, knowing he was happy with the woman he had chosen she walked away. She even now loves him but can not tell him.

Personal Description: Antoine is a very beautiful man, perfect in appearances and without flaw, and yet there is an air to him that makes people afraid of him. He is tall and yet thin. His long white fingers can often be found placed together under his chin while his students speak to him. His hair is black and long and pulled neatly into a pony. His skin is pale in complection almost to the point of being white. His lips seem almost red without him having to try. His eyes however are probably what cause people to fear him. He has peircing green eyes that often seem as if he is staring right through you when he fixes you with one of his contemplating stares.

History: Antoine was once a member of a very distinguished family of noblemen. His father was a high ranked wizard and his mother a muggle. He grew up a life of many comforts when he was kidnapped from this family and sold to the vampire who would make him one of them. He was only eight when he was kidnapped and spent a majority of his time with the vampire he called father. He went to school as a child but he did not attend Rose Academy. After his father was killed by the village where they lived, he set out on the path of finding a new home away from the memories of the past. Along the way he of course drank blood as is the curse of his race. This caused him to be amongst the hated. Eventually he found he could live off of the blood of other animals and no longer fed on humans nor had contact with them. For many years he lived alone. It was only when he was discovered and fell in love that he chose to come out of hiding again. She was a student at the time at rose academy. Which led Antoine to seek a teaching career. He married this woman and left rose academy for a number of years but could never find the will in himself to cause her to suffer the same curse he felt his condition was and in turn she died. After her death he went to the only place that reminded him of the good days Rose Academy. He has been there teaching ever since.

Other important information: Being that Antoine is a vampire he has a heightened sense of the life flowing within someone. He can tell just how healthy or not someone is by the way which the life flows within them.

Other important information: Has a husband, but no children yet. They are trying for a child. Also, even though she is a pureblood she has a great respect for NASA and all astronomers, muggle or not.

History: He is a half-blood, both of his parents being such as well. He was in heron house when he went to rose academy. His parent, both being half-muggle, insisted that he get a well-rounded education and learn advanced math and science. Almost immediately after he went into the muggle world and got a computer science and physics degree, as well as a PHD. After this, he went back to rose academy to teach his passion - muggle studies, though he spend more time inventing than teaching.

Other important information: Is currently working on a way to make magic work as electricity. Acts like arthur around muggle technology, only he actually knows what everything is..

She has been teaching for 10 years after earning her potions mastery in record time. She was hired almost immediately due to her skills.

History: She grew up in a very poor neighborhood. She has a large loving muggle family and is the youngest and last and only to be able to go to rose academy. She finds herself very lucky.

Personal Description: Millie is about 5'5" and weighs somewhere around 125 lbs. Being Caucasian, her skin is peachy colored. Her hair is chestnut colored and is cut right under her jaw, slightly longer than a bobbed hairstyle. Her hair has the tendency to become very frizzy in humid weather, and she employs several beauty products to keep it in line. Her eyes are greenish-brown, and are very friendly. Millie's favorite colors are blues, greens, purples, and grays, and her clothes and accessories reflect this.

History: Millie grew up in the southern United States. Both her parents were wizards, but her mother was muggle born and her father's mother was muggle. She has a younger brother who is ten and shows signs of magical ability. Her parents both attended Rose Academy, and overall Millie had a relatively uneventful childhood.

Other important information: Millie is smart and also very artsy but doesn't focus on her schoolwork as much as she ought to. She loves things like theater, and generally being on stage and this takes priority over her schoolwork most of the time, except for a few classes she loves. She also has this sort of aloofness about her, and is always day dreaming about one thing or another. She is excited about being able to take divination and flying because she thinks that seeing the future and being able to soar high above the ground is the neatest thing in the world. Oh, and she also loves period fashions, especially the Victorian, Edwardian, and Roaring Twenties styles. She is also very proud of her Southern heritage.

Sample Post: Millie rolled over onto her back and sighed. It was already some indecent hour at night and she wasn't anywhere near the completion of her Defence Against the Dark Arts essay. Lord, she didn't really care what the difference between a regular wolf and a werewolf was. She was in the middle of a very important show in the theatre department, and simply didn't have time for something like this. Millie rolled over back onto her stomach and grimaced at her parchment and textbook. Thinking all sorts of rude thoughts towards her professor, she began writing again. Maybe if she could just finish this second page, she could call it a night. Yes, that's what she'll do. Humming one of the songs from chorus class, she wrote the last half of the second page and then closed her book. She quickly reread her essay and decided that even though it basically stated the same information over and over for two pages (something about the difference in their noses) it was good enough for her. Yawning, she grabbed her things and headed up to bed.

History: Haiti comes from a small family. She tends to attract trouble, having gotten into more adventures in her past then she can count (often dragging her twin and friends into them as well). Her father is a pureblood wizard, wheras her mother is a muggle- born witch. She went to elementary school before rose academy to learn basic skills such as reading and arithmatic, and has known how to fly a broom since before she could walk.
Other important information: Haiti has a twin sister named Crystal and they tend to get along as well as one could expect. She is fairly well rounded as far as her inteligence goes but tends to favor maths and arts. She has an uncanny knack for being brutally honest which tends to make people believe she is evil but she really means the best by it.

Other important information: Can't stand when anyone tries to act superior to him, and often has an attitude that can come off as arrogant.

She went to elementary school before rose academy to learn basic skills such as reading and arithmatic, and has known how to fly a broom since before she could walk.

Other important information: She has one twin sister, who is attending rose academy with her. They get along well for twins, and have always done so. She also has an uncanny talent in both astronomy and potions.

Plot Summary:

I will be updating this as much as possible to fill people in as to what has been happening in the RP. Hopefully this will help eliminate the confusion many people feel when they join an RP late in the game.

OFFICIALLY OPENED!!!!

Haiti looked at the note in her hands with both excitement and shock. She had always wanted this more then anything in the entire world and yet she never really thought that she was quite magical enough. Granted it was true she had managed to turn her twin sister into something hairy which luckily her father had managed to sort out....and she had managed to make her broccoli spew a crossed the room when she hadn't wanted to eat it but she never really seemed to think her accedental magics where strong enough. She sighed happily after a moment and raced out of the room to find her sister.


Mollie looked at the letter sitting on the desk and gently pet the owl on the desk, "Thank You" she whispered. She took the letter and opened it to read the traditional words that where written on the page but another surprise fell onto the floor at her feet. She stared in disbelief at the bright badge that lay at her feet. A hall monitor....really a hall monitor.....she had never in a million years thought she would be a hall monitor.

Antoine looked at the office that had been his for so many years now. The same old place, the place where he had introduced himself to her. He smiled softly at the memory, it was a rarity on his face a smile. Not that he was an unkind person even though he did instill fear in many people. He placed his suitcase on the desk and once again began to unpack his belongings. The same picture, the only sign of his humanity was placed on his desk, his picture of her, his favorite one.

Kira walked around her office in a tizzy. Her office was also the same but it was filled now with many artworks that she both did herself and that she had bought. She smiled to herself at them. She walked here to there without really attempting to finish unpacking any of her bags each of them about half unpacked, after all she could always unpack them later. She decided to go say hello to Dori Demontra one of her best friends through all the years and the reason she was here at Rose Academy as a teacher. She raced down the in a flurry till she reached the headmistresses office. Just as she opened the door her feet slipped from beneath her and she fell flat on her face in front of the headmistress.

Dori was seated at her desk finishing the last minute adjustments to the schedules for the year when the door opened and in flew Kira. "Kira?" she said with a soft giggle. She stood up from behind her desk her long turquoise robes flowing behind her gracefully as she walked over to offer Kira her hand. When she was sure Kira was back on her feet she said, "you never do change a bit do you"

Millie arrived at the bus station about an hour before the bus was due to leave for the Academy. "Great, now I'll have to kill time at this dreary place." She moaned. Her mother gave her a Look, to try and get her to behave.

Millie couldn't wait to get back to school, and sitting around for an hour at the bus station wasn't her idea of fun. Sighing loudly, she went ahead and put her bags on board and found a seat. She dumped her purse and book at her seat and then went back outside to tell her parents goodbye. After giving them both hugs, promises to write weekly, and an affectionate hair tousle to her brother, she went back on board and waved as they walked back to the car. As expected, her mother was teary eyed again. "I don't know what she'll do when Charles starts next year," Millie muttered to herself.

Mollie walked up to the bus station with the same smile she always wore this time of year. As much as she loved her family and loved her home she still felt like the school was more of a home to her then her house. She shifted the cage with the small screech owl slightly under her arm and headed over to board the bus. Her mother as always was being fussy and asking if she remembered everything from underwear and toothbrushes to her uniform and books. She looked at her mother with a look of malcontent and rolled her eyes, "Yes mother" she said for what seemed like the millionth time. When the bus came into view she smiled even brighter and hurried toward the bus to get away from her mother. She boarded the bus with her luggage followed by her father who was helping her to load the luggage into the bus. She sighed very happily and looked at her watch about 30 minutes to go.

She spotted a fellow 5th year Athenal and despite the fact that she looked alittle annoyed and not to mention bored made her way towards the girl. "Well I'll be, is this seat taken?" She motioned towards the seat next to Millie.

She'd sworn she was going to be late. It hadn't helped that her father insisted on taking pictures of her in her school kit before she'd left, or that he'd made her re-pack about ten times. Then of course there was Dom telling her all about the 'terrifying' things about Rose Acadamy. Truthfully, if she was late, it would have been all their fault. So it came as a surprise to her when she'd arrived Early.
"Now Tori, remember to behave, be the child prodigy I never had!" Her father embraced her in a tight hug, briefly cutting off her air supply.
"Hey! What about me?" Dom demanded from behind her father. Dom was eighteen now and had finally left Rose Acadamy. Their father looked skeptically behind him before breaking out in a teasing grin.
"I'm going now, bye Dad, won't miss you Dom." The eleven year old waved a hand in good bye before tugging her luggage onto the bus, taking a seat by the window. Tori wasn't far away from the others, but she didn't go to talk to them, not yet anyway.

Millie looked up. "Oh hey!" She scooted over a bit to make room for the girl. "Yeah, no one's sitting here so go ahead." Millie smiled at the girl, trying to place her name. She was pretty sure the girl was a fifth year and from Athenal, but well, Millie had never been very good with names.

"So what classes are you taking this year?" she asked. Mollie! That was the girl's name! Should be easy to remember, it's like Millie only with an "o."

Crystal Salphrone jumped up and down on her bed, holding the long-awaited letter to rose academy in her hands. She had made the cut and she was going to the most prestegious magical shool in the americas! "Haiti" she yelled, running out of the room in search of her twin sister. They were going to rose academy!

Jake Dorian looked at the letter in his hands which had been delivered (much to his shock) by an owl during breakfeast that morning, earning many stares from his seven siblings. "It says...i've been acepted as a student to someplace called Rose Academy..." He started, not sure how to explain that the letter said he was a wizard, or even if it was real or not. But then again, many strange things has happened around him throughout his life. Like the time he had been about to be attacked by a bear and had ended up suddenly out of the woods. Or the time that he had managed to turn everything in his room a dark green, even his computer.

Katie stockwell had a scowl on her face as she looked around the potions clasroom for the fifth time in the past hour. The desks still weren't arranged right after the house-elves had moved them during the summer to clean better. The desks had to be a certain distance apart to avoid any cross-contamination and get the most potent affect. Not that the students appreciated her thoughful planning or even cared that many of their potions were sub-standard. She sighed, rolling up her sleeves and pushing the nearest desk to a better position.

Sue Glin put her suitcase down in her chambers, looking around at the room that reflected her interest in astronomy more than anyhting else. There were charts and maps of the sky and pictures of distant galexies lining the walls. She smiled as she though of ways to make her lesson plans more interesting for the students. Perhaps she could talk about NASA... She was lost in lesson planning as she put away the rest of her clothes.

John Bisson had stayed at rose academy for the summer, and thus had no unpacking to do. He was, in fact, sitting in his workromm fiddling with a white box, which his sources informed him was called a "wii" and that muggles used to entertain themselves. As he picked apart the device to learn nore, he dilegently took notes on it's parts and their functionality, hoping that this would interest his students during the school year.

Mollie smiled and sat next to Millie the girl from her house. "Oh the usual, you know Care of Magical Creatures and Ancient Runes...I desided to take on chorus with my typical Art this year as well" she looked at the girl with a smile and gently fiddled with the Hall Monitor Badge on her chest, "how about you, you taking any interesting classes this year?"

As she talked with Millie she looked around her, she noticed the hustle and bustle of students including a couple of first years. She smiled at one as they passed by her. "Hello" she said in a kind way.


Haiti was racing down the hall with her letter in hand in search of her sister who it turns out had skirted out of her room to do the same. Only the problem was that her sister had chosen the exact moment haiti was outside her door to do this which resulted in the two of them ramming into each other head on.

Haiti Landed on the floor with an umph and impulsively her hand went to her head where she had run head first into Crystal. "owwww....you know sis you truely do have a hard head" she looked up at her sister but the moment she saw the letter in her sisters hand she at once forgot the throbbing spot on her head and squealed with delight. "You got Accepted too!!!!!"

Antoine decided once he was done with his unpacking to take a walk through the halls of Rose Academy. Along the way he passed the office where John was fiddling with some white box, past where Sue was happily unpacking, most likely thinking about some space program, and also past Katie fretting over the placement of the desks. He wondered for a brief moment whether he should offer assistance but figured she probably wouldn't be happy with his placement either. "Thing never do change do they," he said to himself as he continued to walk the halls. Finally he decided to situate himself outside under the trees until the students would arrive.

((Remaro I dont really mention you by name but I remembered you had been on the bus so I tried to interact with you the best I could ^.^))

"Divination and Flying myself," Millie replied. "And history as well. I think that learning how to see into the future would be just fascinating!"

Noticing several first years getting on board, Millie couldn't help but laugh. They reminded her of eager puppies, running from place to place and getting excited about everything. Especially the Muggle borns.

"Is it me, or do the first years seem to get smaller and smaller every year?" she asked Mollie.

Mollie smiled with a soft giggle, "I had the hardest time choosing classes, I mean I too always thought Divination always seemed like fun but then in the end I thought Ancient Runes always sounded fascinating as well....it won over in the end. As for flying....well.....I have enough troubles with two feet on the ground....I certainly don't need to add a broomstick."

She looked around at the comment about the first years getting smaller, "Hmmmm....I dont actually remember being that small." She smiled again, "they look so cute and innocent....they'll soon be another bunch of trouble to contend with I'm sure"

Crystal, after recovering from running into her sister, exclaimed "Looks like we're both going to rose academy! Let's see if we can get mom to take us for supplies." She smiled, happy that they were both finally going to the school they had been told about since they were little.

Jake sighed, looking at the directions in his hand and the shops full of magical school supplies he had to visit. After several hours convincing his parents that magical was real, he was a wizard, and he had to get school supplies, here he stood. He had no idea where to go, but decided to head into the first shop that he saw. Perhaps he would meet someone his age going to this rose academy and make some friends.

Professor Stockwell gave a rare smile as she looked around her classroom, finally perfect and stocked to the brim with only the best potions supplies. Her colleagues often teased her for being a perfectionist, but with potions you couldn't afford not to be. That's why she was one of the best brewers in America; She paid attention to detail. She swept from the room in search of the headmistress to report that she was all ready for the new school year and to take her leave for the rest of the day until the students arrived.

Professor Glin lay on hr matress, listening to music and staring up at the ceiling, which was painted to look like the night sky. Finally deciding to get some more work done, she got up and went to her classroom, grabbing a notebook along the way. Once she had made it to the observatory, she sat down next to the telescope and started charting when each unique phenomena would be most visible, and planned her lessons accordingly.

Professor Bisson let out a shout of delight as the wii started to make a light wirring sound. Finally, he had found out what made the controller work with the device! Charting his discovery in his notes, he got up and decided to get something to eat. After all, he had been working for the past 6 hours without a break.

Millie giggled again. "Here's hoping none of the really big troublemakers land in our house. I certainly don't want to lose House Points all year."

Mollie was right though, they were cute and innocent looking. The Muggle born kids look like they'd been dropped in some dream, or fairy-tale. Which I suppose isn't too far off. None of these kids knew wizards and magic existed before they got their letter.

Millie turned to Mollie, and said, "I wonder how many will get sorted into our house?"
