Rayan gave a hesitant smile, not quite sure that feeling other people's emotions, invading their privacy, was 'cool' or 'awesome'. Then again, neither was forging ice shards with her hands that could pierce steel. Rayan could almost feel Cain's decission to try and keep his moods in check around her. "That's sweet..." she whispered softly to herself, hoping that neither of the other two heard her, not wanting to explain herself.

Cain's silence was unnverving in itself, as he was a genuinely happy and talkative person and he hadn't seemed bothered by wither her power or Millie's, what was it about his power that made him so afraid to say it? Surely it couldn't be as bad as hers? She knew a demon when she saw one, their emotions had a rawer edge to them that hurt like a bitch... Cain's mind started wandering in a way that made her feel like someone had just jabbed a hot poker through her ribs.

She gasped for air, grabbing her pendant, her eyes glowing like twin suns as she fought to shove his feelings out. This wasn't fair, invading his mind, she could see the blurry lines of Cain's memories and it felt like she was drowning in them. The one image that stood out, long after Cain's own mind had burst free from the memories and her hold, was that of fire engulfing some hideous fabric.

Her eyes snapped back into focus and the hold on her lungs was released and she took in a deep breath, reaching out blindly for something to hold onto, to steady herself with. One word made sense in her mind, ripped through the madness as she tried to regain her composure, still clinging to her pendant. One word. Fire.

((^^ Indeed, happy new year!))

((Nuuu, Rayan! ; ___; ))

Cain's smile vanished not too long after it came. Something didn't seem right. His head quickly snapped towards Rayan as he heard her gasp. And it wasn't a 'Oh! Oh, you silly thing!' sort of gasp, it was more like 'Oh my god, I think I'm going to die because an elephant just stepped on me'. He watched helplessly as his eyes frantically observed her. Oh shit! Cain had a hunch what was making Rayan this way, and if his hunch was right then she was being hurt because of him. As she reached blindly for something, the young man grabbed her as gently as he could, afraid once again that she would shatter into a million pieces. And he had already decided that that would be troublesome.

"HAPPY THOUGHTS!" Cain shouted into the air, hoping that whoever could hear that shout would trigger some sort of happy moment. Think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts. For a split second, he realized that phrase had a whole new meaning to him. Cain began to think about when he went to the candy store with his little sister, and how they glanced at all the marvelous colors around them. He thought of how wonderful it was to have the whole family around the table for dinner, the warm light and atmosphere that surrounded them was pure bliss to him.

Cain began to think behind the thoughts, trying to make them small and unnoticeable, because it bothered him that he was probably 99.99% the cause of her fit. Horrid thoughts began to enter his mind as he struggled to suppress them. A flicker of a thought surfaced to his mind. What if by having a fire power, I'm unconsciously hurting her? Because generally, fire would melt ice. Cain closed his eyes.

The young man let go of Rayan and tried to pass her to Millie. "I think I have to go. I have too many thoughts in my head that I think it'd be best if I be alone for a little while." He explained to Millie. "For now, just think happy thoughts!" A quick smile escaped his lips before he hurried off towards the boy's dormitories.

Something warm took hold of Rayan, steadying her as she wavered. Inside she was grateful for that fact, she only wished that she could think straight enough to thank the anonymous source of the warmth. Her thoughts were scrambled, her little trip into Cain's mind had opened up the floodgates to everyone else and suddenly everything was swarming inside her head: from the pure bliss of romance to the crippling emotions of someone drifting over the edge of sanity...

Warmth filled her mind, like the warmth that held her steady, this was blissful, innocent and close. Rayan grabbed hold of the warmth with all of her mind and pulled herself towards it, her mind and body craving to feel the warmth and to block out everything else. The other thoughts drifted away, leaving nothing but the warmth which was suddenly alive with bright colours and warmth. "Beautiful..." she murmured softly as her vision started to clear

She felt the warmth pulling away from her, physically and mentally and she protested softly, mewling quietly, she reached for the warmth again, even her tail inched towards the warmth, craving it. Her vision cleared furthur and she saw a deep inky blackness, a blackness that was trying to get away. Cain. That one word sliced through everything and the world suddenly roared back into life.

The sound of the students walking by was suddenly a deafening roar, now all she wanted to hear and to see was Cain, but he was leaving, he wouldn't stay... Why wouldn't he stay? "Cain! Cain! Caiiin!" she called, racing after him now that her legs had steadied. "Please, come back... What's wrong?" she asked, her eyes dim, she didn't understand why he was leaving her. "What have I done? Did I do something wrong? Something to upset you?"

((Yee gads, sorry for ditching you guys! I'm on vacation right now and my laptop works about half the time, so I'll try to check in every day or so until Sunday))

Millie smiled, and ran her hand through her brown hair again. Finally, it was so nice to be in a place where people weren't freaked out by her magic. Nay, they expected her to have some sort of power that normal people would say was freakish.

Hearing the girl (who's name she still didn't know) talk about feeling emtions, Millie couldn't help but feel a little bit bad. How awful would it feel to be surrounded by people in sucky moods? Ugh, I don't think I could do that.

IN response to Cain, Millie had to laugh again. "No, I don't think anyone's stalking me." Expectantly, she waited to hear what his power was. However, when he grew silent Millie felt bad. Uh oh, maybe he doesn't want to share his power. Stupid stupid Millie!

But once he revelaed he was a fire mage (which Millie thought was totally awesome) Millie forgot her self-scolding and instantly thought of a million questions to ask. But before she could open her mouth the girl suddenly gasped like she was dying. At Cain's shout, Millie started thinking hard, about her friends back home, her times on stage, all of the inappropriate inside jokes she had shared with them.

Suddenly, Cain announced he had to leave, and the girl followed after him after recovering from...well whatever it was. "Okay, then...I'll uh, just see you later then," she shout half-heartedly after the two. I should probably leave them alone, she thought to herself. Obviously they have some sort of issue to work out.

She grabbed her suitcase once more, scanned her green eyes over the creased map, and headed off for the girls' dorms.

Cain's thoughts flew through his mind as he began to walk away. Little slivers of thoughts about whether or not he was involuntarily hurting her flashed before his eyes. Millie would be able to take care of Rayan for an hour or two while he got himself straightened out. Right now, all these thoughts were driving him nuts. But something made him stop a few meters away. Someone was calling for him, and he knew exactly who it was. Cain contemplated for a moment, deciding whether or not to just walk away. But he came to the conclusion that he'd be a jerk if he did, so the young man just stayed rooted to the spot.

"No, you did nothing wrong." Cain mumbled, not sure of what to say next. "It's just- it's just that I don't want to cause any trouble for you." He thought about how he would be the sun, and how anything chucked his way would melt. Or burn. Either one. That would be fine if he burned those velvet curtains, but Rayan? No way, Jose. He wouldn't want to hurt her, even if it meant he had to stay away. He already saw the way she emitted a slightly cool atmosphere, and he didn't know if the differences in their body temperatures would be too much. He stood there, not knowing what to do with himself. In the corner of his eye, he could see Millie scuttle off towards the Girl's dormitories.

As Cain stopped moving away from her Rayan stopped running too, lingering behind him at a safe distance, just in case he was mad at her. She didn't want to feel his rage, it would break her heart. She looked up at his back from behind her hair, panting softly, her soft silver eyes fading to a dismal grey.

He assured her that she hadn't done anything wrong but she refused to believe it. Surely he was angry at her for invading his mind, stealing access to his memories. "I'm sorry..." she whispered, hanging her head "I didn't mean to-I can't help it, it just happens sometimes. I didn't mean to invade your privacy like that" He didn't want to cause her any trouble, well, she should extend him the same courtesy.

"If it makes it any easier I'll stay away from you. If it's too hard for me to block your thoughts out I'll just stay away... then I won't have to betray your trust like that again" she said, her little bead of enlightment causing her words to trip over each other as she hurried to say them before she went about in fulfilling the promise her words had made. She pulled her bag closer up her shoulder and made a move to leave before she felt a strange emotion brush at the back of her mind.

It felt like-like how she had felt when she'd seen an injured bird fall from a tree and some of the other children at the orphanage had kicked it. She had picked up the bird and kept it in a small shoe box, nursing it back to health, keeping it away from the other children and the stray cats that frequented their garden. It felt like an urge to protect... but where was it coming from? The only person close enough for her to feel was-was Cain, but what would he want to protect? Not her surely... himself, maybe? That settled it, she would stay away from him, despite how much it would pain her to stay away from the warmth of his personality and his body.

((Oooh, London. :0 That sounds pretty awesome. Too bad I couldn't stow away with you > _> <_< Although you probably would've been like: "WTH?! WHO ARE YOU?" Anyways...onto the post!))

Cain listened in horror as the girl thought it was her fault he had walked away.
"No, it's not like that!" The young man shouted suddenly. He had never felt bothered by the fact that she knew, in a sense, what he was thinking. In fact, he found it amusing, if anything. To hear her say such things made his heart undergo sharp pains. Then he heard her talk about keeping away from him.

"I don't want that!" He quickly spun around to face her, shock in his eyes. It was a little bit funny how he intended to stay away, but now she says she wants to keep her distance. Just a little. Cain sighed and walked towards his friend after he cooled his thoughts down.

"It's just that I thought I was hurting you." Wow, this feels kind of awkward. The young man scratched the back of his head. "You know, how fire melts ice. So that triggered a lot of frustrating thoughts, so I didn't want to do you harm even more. Since you know, that would suck." Cain cleared his throat after speaking. "So, er, yeah. It's not you, it was me." He let himself smile.

Rayan sighed softlyas Cain insisted that her ability to feel his emotions wasn't the problem. Then what was? She ran a hand through her hair as she wracked her brain, surely something had happened that had made him want to leave. What had she done wrong? Clearly her social skills still had much to be desired for, but she hadn't done anything too bad, had she?

As Cain turned to face her she was wrenched out of her thoughts, not believing that he would want her too near him, but also knowing that she wouldn't want to be apart from him. As he walked closer to her she felt the blissfull warmth of his skin as he approached and she longed to reach out to him and have his arms around her like before. 'I thought I was hurting you...'

"That's all!" Rayan laughed, amazed that he had left over something so trivial. "Blimey, are all humans this silly about that?" she asked herself quietly. "I'm not made of ice, I'm just naturally cold because that's the way I am... It's not like I don't like heat. Far from it, actually" Her eyes were glittering a little now that she was sure that Cain hadn't left because of something she had done.

"Fire may melt ice, but if you freeze the sun it's dead. Personaly, this little icicle rather likes the heat. I'm a little more durable than ice anyway... I'm from the part of Hell that's frozen over" she joked, amazed how at home she felt around Cain. She stepped forward and took Cain's hand. "Look, I'm not melting am I?" she teased "You're warm to me, no one else feels warm to me... and I like it" she whispered, brining his hand up to her cheek and resting her face against it, enjoying the warmth that washed over her face, her face darkening slightly from embarassment as she realised just what she was doing...

After consulting her schedule a final time, Millie opened a door that she was pretty sure led to her dorm room. She gave the room a cursory glance, noting that it appeared her roommate-if she had one-had not shown up yet.

She left the door open to air out the room a bit and settled her suitcase on one of the beds. Millie sat on the bed, still trying to absorb all that she had seen that morning. Her thoughts drifted back to Cain and the girl, hoping they were both okay. She never learned that girl's name either, Millie realized.

However, she still needed to unpack her clothes, and then try and get to know more people. Through the open door, she could hear the excited chatter of girls as old friends met up and shared stories from over the summer. Millie couldn't wait until she made some new friends. It had been so long since she had been the "new girl" that it felt weird to not recognize anyone.

"Oh." Was all Cain said for a while. To be truthful, the young lad was in a bit of a shock. He had made such a big scene, when all this could have been avoided. He blinked a few times. So, that means I really can't melt her. Wait, wasn't that a bit of an absurd thought in the first place? Of course I wasn't melting her! I was just running away with childish thoughts. Though, of course, that's a relief to hear, but I think I just made a complete fool of myself.

Cain scratched the back of his head, feeling slightly embarrassed. He felt a cool hand slip into his and he stared at it for a while, not knowing what to do with it until she spoke. "I can see that your hand hasn't turned into a puddle." The young man chuckled but it subsided as he felt his hand raise and touch the girl's cheeks. Now Cain really didn't know what to do, especially since he didn't have plenty of experience with the opposite sex. Sure, he has female friends, but quite frankly none of them had done this to him before.

Not knowing how he should handle the situation, he smiled awkwardly and outstretched his free hand. "Now that that's been settled, friendship hug?" Though when he thought of friendship, he began to wonder where the girl Millie had wandered off to. Hopefully, they hadn't made her feel uncomfortable.

Cain's stunned reaction made Rayan chuckle softly to herself. True, he had made a bit of a fuss over nothing... but how was he to know that he wouldn't turn her into a puddle on contact? He didn't know that Ice Demons were made of sturdy stuff, and she didn't plan on telling anyone that if she could help it.

Rayan felt their joint embarasment like a hand around her throat. She let Cain's hand fall from her grip, instantly missing the warmth of his touch as the temperature of her hand cooled back down to it's 'standard' temperature. She could feel Cain's indecision, his uncertainty and her own emotions mirrored his. She had no idea why she had brought his hand up to her face like that... It'd just felt right.

He was still close enough that she could feel the heat from his skin and the slight nervousness he felt after her little 'display'. She smiled as she saw that they both shared the little nervous 'tick' of mussing up their hair when they were uncertain about what was going on. Just noticing that fact made her own hand stretch up, unbidden to mess up her hair, a nervous smile playing at the corners of her lips.

'Friendship hug?' She smiled softly, nodding, before launching herself, none too gently into Cain's open arms. "Mmm. Settled. You don't melt me, I don't freeze you. We can sing and dance in the streets... but other than that it'd settled" Ugh, she was rambling. She hated it when she rambled, because that meant that she was nervous. She hated being nervous of her own accord, it made her seem so... helpless.

((Eep! Sorry about my late reply too x _x I got distracted by another avatar site ahhhh~))

Cain couldn't help but feel strange when her hand left his cheek. It was as if he missed it. Well that's a weird feeling. The young man thought to himself as he unconsciously brought his hand up to his chest, as if trying to steady his heart. Cain decided to brush the awkward feeling away, and thought it'd be best to stay focused on the girl's launch into his arms.

"Oof!" He was a bit taken aback, although he was the one who came up with the idea of the 'friendship hug' in the first place. Cain chuckled and hugged her back. "Sounds good, sounds good. Actually, prancing on the streets doesn't sound half bad." He said, trying to lighten up the mood. It was then that he realized his arms were still around her. Rayan did feel a bit cool, but it was refreshing. Nice.

She'd come in handy during the hot summers... He thought to himself, chuckling in his head as the image of her being like his own personal air conditioner popped up. All I'd have to do is carry her on my back. Which now that the young man thought about it, Rayan didn't seem very heavy. It was possible that he really could just carry her all day in the warm summers. Cain looked up, thinking his strange thoughts.

Once Rayan got over her helpless rambling moment she felt Cain's emotions rush to meet hers and she was taken aback by some of the things she felt. The tumbling of emotions was confusing and as she tried to make sense of them she noticed the way Cain's hands shifted to cover his heart. She eyed his hands curiously, wondering why he was holding them like that. Then as she admired his soft hands her heart fluttered softly and she grasped just why his hands were like that.

A gentle smile spread over her face, her eyes twinkling with glee and her face tinting that slightly deeper 'blue blush' which only intensified as she felt the warmth rushing through her body as she felt Cain hugging her back. Her tail was swishing from side to side like she was a contented puppy. She wondered whether the warmth she felt was caused by Cain's proximity to her or whether it was the warmth of her own feelings towards the cheery pyro... She shook off those thoughts just as they both realised that Cain was still holding her.

She laughed softly as he let her go, rumpling up her hair, as ever, as though in those few moments since she'd last touched it it had lost it's defiance of gravity. The warmth she'd felt before still filled her tiny frame despite the fact that Cain had let go of her, this was a confusing sign... She liked it though.

"I'd rather not sing and dance in the streets if you don't mind... people are staring enough as it is" she mumbled. To be honest people could stare at her all they wanted, she just wanted to take Cain's hand and never let it go. "Not that I care... but you'd think they'd never seen a demon before" she laughed, before what she'd just said caught up to her. "Shit... I didn't-I-shit" She wanted to run but her feet were glued to the floor. She was finally able to awaken her body enough to turn away, hiding her head in her hands, her tail dragging behind her, finally lifeless.

"Don't look at me..." she whispered.

((*sweatdrop* I'm so sorry for dropping off the face of this RP. *glares at mountain of schoolwork* ))

Millie opened the window to air out the room and started unpacking her stuff. Once she was done, she smoothed down her hair and debated whether or not to go looking for Cain and the girl. She had never been particularly outgoing and she would rather hang out with them instead of go back out into the crowd of unfamiliar students...but then she didn't want to intrude on anything.

She decided to go around and find her classroom locations and maybe run into them while exploring the school. Yes, that is what she'll do.

Millie grabbed her now crumpled schedule and decided to find her English class first, seeing as that would be her first class of the day tomorrow.

((Lol, don't worry about it xD I understand, school work can be troublesome at times. -stares at her own pile- ... I should really get to doing that. lol ))

The young man smiled as he saw Rayan ruffle up her hair and his grin grew ever more when he saw some hair sticking out. He reached out to put the silver strand back in place. Completely unconscious of what he had just done, he focused again on the conversation.

"A demon?" Cain slightly frowned as she began to stutter. Was that what she thought she was? He pursed his lips tightly together, like what his mother would do whenever she found out he tracked mud into the house. He stayed like that for a while, carefully chewing over his words before he spat them out.

"Aren't demons usually scary and molest small children?" He raised a brow, a bit amused. "You don't molest children, now do you?" Cain chuckled. He seemed to be doing a lot of chuckling. Though then again, Cain was a pretty cheery fellow. "Nah, you aren't a demon." He frowned a bit again when she turned away.

"Now see here, young woman." The young man rested one hand on her shoulder and tried to get a good look at her face. "If you don't look this way, the sly and manly Cain just might come out." He grinned mischievously, putting a finger under her cool chin. "Now cheer up, I will look at you all I want. Unless that is, if you really don't want me to?"

Cain thought that if he made use of his male pheromones, it might keep Rayan's mind off of thinking she was a demon. He quickly glanced up at a clock nearby. Their first class seemed to be starting soon.

((Rayan has silver hair, right? XD;;; ))

As Cain readjusted her hair she smiled lightly to herself, he was so sweet and caring. But then she made her little slip and the world disappeared from underneath her. She wasn't sure what was worse, just blurting it out in the middle of a corridor where anyone could hear, or the fact that Cain was denying it.

She chanced the smallest glance back to him, he look like a reprimanding parent. No, worse, he looked like the carers at the orphanage used to look every time she did something 'weird'. She looked away, hiding her fading grey eyes behind her hair as best she could.

'Aren't demons supposed to be scary and molest small children?' Rayan bit back a sob. But he was laughing, how could he laugh after knowing that she was a demon? How could he deny it? Why else would she look... like she did? As his warm hand touched her shoulder she flinched away from his touch. "Please... don't" she whispered, starting to move away.

His finger under her chin stopped her. "Please, Cain." she begged "I can't do this... I don't want to hurt you" She closed her eyes and sighed softly. "I am a Demon. I was born in Hell and everything. My mother was a Demon, my Father was a Demon, my brother is a Demon... I. Am. A Demon. An Ice Demon"

She chanced a look back at him, her eyes no longer aglow, all their light faded away as she looked at him. She couldn't even bring herself to hope that their friendship could still be intact. Maybe not now, but soon he would realise what she was capable of, she'd do something dangerous, loose control or hurt someone... and then he'd never want to be with her.

Her heart, that had previously been doing somersaults at his touch, sank like a lead balloon.

((Rayan's hair is silver/white, so I'll let you have silver. ^^

And classes don't begin until tomorrow, silly. It's still Sunday and I doubt they've taken all day to have this conversation, they'd have noticed it getting dark... ^^))

((Oh WHOOPS lol. Then let's just ignore Cain's last thought/glance at the clock. XD;; ))

"Hurt me?" Cain couldn't help but laugh, for he had bitter thoughts of the past. Having his own parents be afraid of him and disowning him at the age of eleven wasn't easy. Even though they were pompous and always put their status first, every child wants to be close to their parents. Because they were afraid of being hurt by his fire, they kept him away. Why, just why in the world would he keep his distance like that with someone else? Cain tried to look her in the eyes.

"Do you really think I'm that weak?" He said, a bit hurt to be honest. "You might be really strong. No, wait, I'm sure you're really strong. But don't think I'm like a defenseless little puppy who doesn't know how to protect itself. You aren't the only one in the world with a power." Cain lifted his hand off her shoulder and released his finger from her chin. But he realized he might've been a bit harsh and sighed, placing the palm of his hand on his forehead.

"Sorry, I got a little worked up." He began to wonder where Millie was, sure that if she was there, things might've been less awkward.

His laughter confused her, she turned her head looked at him, her eyes were still a dull grey instead of the sparkling silver they had been before. At his astonishment that she thought she could hurt him it was her turn to laugh, it was a bitter, hollow laugh that held no real joyous emotion. "You think I couldn't?" she sneered, turning to face him, her eyes a bright shining light, almost sightless.

"I haven't even been trying. I could freeze your body to the core before you even realised I had bad intentions. Don't you get it? I. Am. Dangerous." Her hands were enveloped in ice that shimmered and danced, itching to just wrap itself around something, or someone. The temperature in the corridor dipped below freezing and the floor around Rayan's feet froze over and the ice that covered it began spreading out towards the walls.

Rayan was suddenly standing up to her fullest height, glaring into the pyro's eyes, her previous feelings forgotten, as though her 'Inner Demon' had finally stepped to the surface. "And if I tried... you could be a defenceless puppy" Her tail was twitching eagerly behind her as she reached her hand out towards the pyro's chest, where his hands had been just minutes ago...

As his hand left her shoulder her eyes lost their glow and regained their focus. She swayed slightly, clutching her head and trying to steady herself. "Woah... What just happened?" she whispered, looking up at Cain. "Shit. I lost it again, didn't I?" This wasn't the first time her more Demonic side had stepped up to a 'challenge'. Rayan groaned softly, burying her head in her hands.

"Shit. Sorry" she mumbled, releasing her face to ruffle up her hair, her eyes shimmering softly as she looked up at Cain, wondering how her little 'display' had affected him. "When I don't let her run she gets cranky. That must have been-" she chanced a look around her, the frozen path she had left. A few students that had previously been giving her a look like she was an unexploded bomb, scattered from the scene, leaving her alone with Cain.

"Bad..." she finished. She let go of her hold on the ice around her and it melted. The temperature climbing rapidly back towards the norm. "Oh, god, I am so sorry" she whispered.

Now Cain was thoroughly pissed. He is a generally happy go-lucky guy. But he was still a guy, and guys have a lot of pride. His felt like it was trampled on like grass under a fat elephant's foot.

"You honestly think I care if you could hurt me?" He scoffed, his voice beginning to rise. "If I cared about people hurting me, I wouldn't leave my room. Ever. This place is full of dangerous people with powers that could probably blow up New York. I'm a freaking pyromaniac for Christ's sake! I live for danger. I'll die before I ever think about deserting one of my friends just because I'm afraid of pain. Not all humans are afraid of 'demons' like you think we are. Give us some credit. Jesus...if I wasn't so worked up right now, I'd make a joke about how you almost turned the place into an ice rink. Damn, how I like to skate in the winter..." Cain mumbled off, his last sentence making no sense what-so-ever. When Rayan let go of the ice, he stared at the puddle of water.

The young man took a deep breath. For a moment, he crouched down and scooped some water in his hands to splash it on his face. Today is proving to be quite interesting, all right. He stayed in that position for a few minutes, water droplets fell from the tip of his nose and his chin. "Look," Cain spoke. "I'm going to be here no matter what. Not only because I have no other place to go, but because I self-established myself to be your friend. So whether you like it or not, I'm always going to be here. Hurt me all you want, freeze me or molest little children, whatever, I don't care. But I'll still be by you. You know why? Cause that's what friends do. I'm not going to disown you because you're different."

Cain stood up. "I've said all I wanted to say, even if what I said doesn't really make sense." He sighed again before scratching his head awkwardly.

Rayan could feel the anger bubbling under Cain's skin and it worried her. She stepped backwards, not wanting his anger to set her off again, she wasn't ready for another dizzying display of demonism just yet. She listened to Cain's little rant and through it all one thing hit her:

He doesn't care.

That fact alone was like a physical blow. No one had ever just 'not cared' upon finding out that they had been talking to a genuine demon from the not so fiery area of the pits of hell. Yet here was Cain, rambling on about other people with powers as bad as hers... and friendship. Rayan smiled softly, her eyes glinting and shimmering as she realised that she'd finally found someone who cared about her and not what she was.

She watched as Cain splashed his face with water in an attempt to calm himself down and she laughed in amazement that he could do that so easily. She wasn't so comfortable with his blatant disregard for his safety or that of innocent children, not matter how much she wished he'd let that stupid stereotype go...

But then he said something that made her heart soar. 'I'm not going to disown you because you're different'. Suddenly Rayan didn't care. She didn't care how many people may have been staring at the pair of them, she didn't care what people thought of her, she didn't even care about what she was any more. She enveloped Cain in a tight hug before kissing him firmly on the lips. "Please stop talking" she whispered against his sunshine-warm lips. "You've said plenty..."

A kiss? Did I die and go to heaven? This thought was coming from a guy who didn't have much experience with girls. They always thought his 'Yay, life is great! Let's joke around!' attitude quite annoying at times. But wait, I shouldn't take this too seriously, should I? I mean, girls kiss other people as greeting or thanks all the time right? Girls... The young man stood there like a stone for a little moment, his man-mind going crazy at all the hormones the kiss had set off. Right, we're just friends. Psh, not a big deal. I've kissed lots of girls before casually. Well, not really...

As his thoughts ran through him, trying to calm himself down so he didn't seem like an overly excited 13-year-old, Cain patted Rayan on the head.

"Right then, now that we got that all settled with, is there anything on your schedule you need help with?" He grinned. "I have been here for most of my life, afterall. I know almost all the nooks and crannies in this place by now. Well, it's essential to know them if you're skipping class or running away from teachers." Cain laughed, recalling his past memories at the school when he would fool around.

Millie was starting to believe she was hopelessly lost until she saw that she had indeed found her classroom. She made a note of some peculiar landmarks nearby (like the statue spraying water from its finger) so that she could find it tomorrow.

She was about to head to the cafeteria-after all, she had been too nervous to eat any breakfast and surely that was hours ago-when she heard voices. Well, specifically, once voice. It was loud and it was also familiar.

Millie followed it and came upon Cain and the blue girl who seemed to be in some sort of argument or something. If Millie hadn't known better, it would have almost looked liked a couple in the midst of a lover's spat.

She hated seeing people upset, and they both looked fairly upset, and so Millie decided to go over and see if she could help at all. She was almost over there when the blue girl suddenly reached up to hug Cain, and then kissed him. Feeling suddenly like it would be very awkward to intrude at this particular moment, Millie veered and busied herself with looking at a copy of the school brochure that was on a table nearby, deciding that it would probably be best to leave them alone for the moment.

Rayan stepped down from the hug, licking her metallic blue lips softly, savouring Cain's taste. Her face was flushed so dark that her eyes looked like twin stars shining out in the night sky. She felt like she was on top of the world, and somewhere at the back of her mind was a soft buzz that let her know that she wasn't the only one flying high after such a little kiss.

She'd never kissed a boy before and meant it as more than just a 'thank you' and she didn't know it could feel so good. She was dying to get back into his arms and kiss him once more...

As Cain patted her on the head she giggled softly, she felt like a giddy little school girl, her emotions going haywire. For once she was glad that she was only a one-way empath, she didn't want everyone everyone else knowing how happy a simple kiss could make her.

The solid wave of emotions rolling off Cain was comforting, she was glad to know that the kiss had meant something to him as well as it had to her. A little twitch of foreign emotions in the back of her brain made her tear her shining silver eyes away from Cain for a moment to see the form of Millie looking at something, looking but not really seeing. "Uh, Cain... we have an audience" she muttered softly.

Heaving a resigned sigh and running a now shaking hand through her hair, her three fingers gripping the hair for support Rayan wondered what to do. "Well, we sure could use a secret passage way right now..." she whispered, more to herself than anyone else. Whether she wanted to hide from the awkwardness of her current situation or whether she just wanted somewhere that she and Cain could be togther, alone and undisturbed... who knows?

((-got distracted- MUST POST xD ))

Cain cleared his throat, obviously still feeling awkward from that kiss and the rush of hormones. Damn chemicals in my body. He thought, thinking about his past biology classes.

"Oh, I love audiences! Oh, wait what?" An audience now? Sure, he liked drama classes and being up on the stage, but having an audience at this moment meant that someone might have saw them kiss. Cain swiveled his head around and Millie caught his eye. He thought he had heard Rayan murmur something, but dismissed it and walked towards the other girl.

"Hey!" Cain greeted her. He looked at what she held in her hands and noticed that she was looking at the school's brochure. "Yeah, that isn't going to tell you anything other than boring stuff." He smiled at her. "So what've you been up to?"

"Not much,"Millie said, blushing a bit at being caught spying. "Just finding my room and classrooms and such."

She tossed the brochure on the table and turned to face Cain again. "So what have you been doing. Is..." Millie struggled to find a word to call the blue girl, having never learned her name. "Is everything okay over here?"
