Ben grinned at what he thought was an exceptance. "So now we're all heroes," He mused happily. "So what are we supposed to do now? Wait it out?"

"Probably." Damien replied absent-mindedly, watching the rest of the sorting and clasping his ears closed every time Boomer's mouth opened a little too wide or drew a breath too deep. "What interests me more are the classes; what exactly are they going to teach us here that will make us 'Heroes'?" The old teacher had been very vague about it all. He suspected that she might have been a bit senile. To him, what he saw in the city or on the news when he passed by the appliances stores, the heroes didn't do much but fight amongst themselves. Heroes verses Villains...and most villains were from the Heroes class at Sky High in the first place. The Villains destroy the city and cause mayhem, and the Heroes go about stopping them and being worshipped. It didn't seem to cost them much knowledge to do all that, except maybe learn how to make giant cyborgs to help destroy/protect the city, etc.

Thorn had to agree. She needed to know what classes were here, she might have to take special classes to control her power. she instinctively looked down, and seeing no swirling balls of black power, she let herself relax a tad. What would happen if she just couldn't control them? you'd be sent to the loony bin, and that's why you listen to me. the voice said. She knew that she shouldn't listen to the voice, it did some bad things in her time, but she did it anyway.

"Hmm... I've always wondered about that," Ben mused, "Seeing's my mom's not a super, I couldn't ask her about stuff like that..."
Ben entertained himself for a while by watching Boomer boom at the new heroes and sidekicks alike, and seeing what their powers were.

Ivan nodded "i just hope that they can help control my powers" he said softly as he remembered how his water power went out of control. He had almost killed everyone at school when someone tryed to bully him. When the bully was going to hit him water had started to seep from the walls and soon all the hallways where filled with water and the water was riseing. He was the only one who wasn't in the water, it seemes to keep away from him. That was the day that Sky high had found him.

Still watching what he seemed to think was a show, Ben put in his two cents yet again (he really liked talking, though he knew that when you first met someone you should keep your trap shut once in a while). "I think I'm pretty good with my powers, I just want to learn how to use it as a weapon, and to my advantage..."

"My control over my power is pretty much perfect...I'm going to be very disappointed if 'control' is all they're gonna be teaching us." Damien smirked, "Only thing I haven't mastered so far is to get my poison to become gas...but I can learn how just by practicing myself, no need for classes, because as far as I can tell, all our powers are different, how do they know what's best for us to learn?"

Thorn didn't like talking out loud about her powers. She watched a kid with a perfectly good power get put in a sidekick. She sighed, this was gonna be hard.

((just so you guys know, tomorrow I'm going on a week-long vacation, so don't leave me in the dust, Just pretend I'm still here!))

Clair sat in the back of the gym not wanting to get picked at all. The principle had siad it was time for her to go to school but she was still scared. Scared that they would hate her and that she would kill someone. She held a little teddy bear that was all sticked up in her hands. The principle had given it to her to comfort her if she was scared. She was scared and gently chewing the ear of the teddy bear for comfort as she waited to hear The coach call her up.

Boomer, being the horrible person he was, picked out his next victim: a small girl holding a teddy-bear. A classic, he thought with an evil grin. He barked out her description: "Girl eating the bear, up front."

Clair nearly jumped out of her skin when Boomer called her up. Everyone turned to her and she started to chew on the bears ear more. She carefully took one step and everyone seemed to make a path for her to the stage. They could feel that she held a power that was different and deadly. She walked very slowly to the stage and made no sound as she did. That was one thing that scared people about her. She made no sound as she walked and was very agile. When she got to the stage she looked at Boomer and squeezed the bear even more. "s-sorry, B-But I-I d-don't know w-what my p-power is?" she managed to say though her scared lips. She waited to hear the booming voice that she had heared over her four years of being with the principle and the anger in his voice.

Boomer cocked an eyebrow. "I'm sorry? I think I misheard. Did you just say that you don't have a power?"

The girl in front of Boomer nodded shakily, looking more terrified by the second. Boomer could feel the anger surging through him; there'd only been one kid who'd come to Sky High who said he hadn't had a power - he really didn't want to think of the kid he'd accidently beaten up while trying to find his "hidden" power.
"In that case," Boomer started silkily, "Then I think I'd be right as making you a SIDEKICK!!!"

Thorn felt bad for the girl. She looked like a younger her, only with a teddy bear. She didn't like teddy bears, they provided a false sense of comfort that wasn't really there. Her grandmother tried to give her one, it was golden-brown with a red bow around it's neck, but thorn had refused it and had went back to sitting in the corner.

Clair jumped when he boomed sidekick and ran off the stage on all fours like a cat. She stoped running when she got to the back of the gym and turned around slowly. Her eyes where all black and she let out a hiss that made the other sidekicks back away form her. But then her eyes turned back to normal and she looked at the frighten people around her. She didn't know that she just hissed and wondered why they looked at her like that. She sat down and hugged her bear tighter, then buired her face into it.

Damien scoffed when he saw the girl clutching the bear looking as though she was about to have a panic attack. Whatever her power might be, since he knew for a fact that people who didn't have powers do not go to Sky High no matter what, it would probably be pretty useless when it came up against her cowardly nature. She looked like a squirrel; twitchy and constantly nervous, chewing on her plushie for comfort. Even if she did have some kind of impressive ability, he doubted she would be able to use it to its full potential. Except maybe running away. That thought had him send a loud snort through his mask.

By the time Boomer made the girl a Sidekick, most of the students were already done and waiting. He hoped it would end soon; he was getting quite bored and couldn't wait for lunch.

Her loud hiss and the later confused look did not escape his eyes, however bad his current sight was thanks to the blurred film of the mask, and he wondered about it for a few moments. An uncontrolled power, perhaps? So maybe her power wouldn't be only useful for running away then, he thought. Not that it helped much. Psycotic powers were usually the worst kind and most tend to end up as Villains after they graduate...if they graduate.

Ben blinked in surprise after the girl hissed. She looked almost scary... but then she sat back down and hugged her teddy tighter. He felt sorry for the kid: it was obvious she was terrified out of her mind. He wondered for a moment whether she might actually have a power... but he pushed the thought aside.
The next person up, who had the ability to open his jaws so wide that he could have swallowed the whole school whole if he'd felt like it, got punted into Sidekick. Ben thought the power could be useful as a hero somehow... but it wasn't his place to judge. He didn't want his ears blasted away by Boomer's Boom.

Boomer glanced around at the groups of students, his eye skimming over the girl hugging the bear, the knot of students he'd first sorted and all the others. He couldn't spot any new faces. The sorting was over.
"You're excused," Boomer growled. "Follow the hall until you reach the cafeteria; it's time for lunch. After lunch, Sidekicks will go to room 7, while Heroes will go to room 29 for their first lessons. If you have any questions, keep them to yourselves, and if you get lost, try not to fall off the school at any point or time."
With that, the platform on which Boomer stood sank abruptly back into the ground, the floor closing over the top like the trap of some modernised Cursed Temple.

lunch? Am I sitting with these people? she wondered, looking at Ivan and Ben. She knew she shouldn't, things could get hectic and the Voice in her head could start telling her to use her powers.

"About time..." Damien grumbled. He ignored Boomer's last act of attempt to impress them by exiting through the floor instead of walking out the door like everyone else. It was long walk to the cafeteria down the hallway and he wanted to get there quickly so he could find a seat before all the good ones were taken. And before all the good food, most importantly, were taken.

Clair jumped when the dtage dissappeared and shot out of the gym. She was letter her fear of everyone get to her and now she was hissing at anyone who came close to her. When she got to the hallway her eyes where now completely black and you could see fangs. Some older kids looked at her and started to make fun of her since she looked so scared before. But that was a mistake. She slowly started to turn into her armored sabertooth tiger form. The older kids slowly started to back away but that wouldn't help them. When she was in her full animal form she roared out and started to lash out at everything and everyone she layed her eyes on.

Ivan smiled and started to leave the gym when he saw a huge cat thing and froze in his tracks. It was not like a normal animal but something that looked ancent and very powerfull.

Ah...crap. Were the first words that came to Damien's mind when the huge feline appeared where Ms. Don't-Talk-to-Me-I'm-Shy had been standing.

Can't believe my second guess was right, of all things... Was his second thought, a moment later, as he ran as fast as his legs would carry him down the corridor away from the giant monster.

He was now very glad that all his days out living in the streets had gave him very fast legs; he had by far out-stripped all his fellow-screaming-future-classmates, except for the ones that had super-speed or could fly. Well, at least he wouldn't have to worry about being the first to get eaten by the creature...yet. The thing was insanely agile, though given the animal she turned into (some sort of cat, but he didn't know what kind, since he'd never seen any feline that had fangs that long), it was reasonable. Not that that did him any good.
