Mr. Booth rambled on about the saw dust cannon that he intended to prepare in class and the police held out their guns as he began to assemble said cannon. All the while Chris definitely noticed Mari staring holes into the back of his head. He looked back at her on occasion to mouth 'sorry' to her, though he didnt have a clue why she was glaring at her. He could deduce that it had something to do with Mick, but he had no specifics. Regardless he was worried about him. Perplexed by his distaste of being touched, especially by men, lumped together with his and Sal's disappearances he was really worried.
Brendon stumbled out of the bathroom after about twenty minuets. His eyes were puffy and bloodshot from crying and his hair was a mess. He didnt seem to care much though. As he walked down the halls he spotted Mr. Booths room again. He sighed. He really didnt feel like going back to class not since Chris was there. Being around him was the last thing he needed. Grumbling and whipping away a new flood of tears that came to his eyes.
He followed the hallway for a long time, walking by the band room and the choir room, barely even stopping to listen to the amazing music that came from them. He even passed a set of stairs with a shitty little sign labeled 'Gym' and an arrow pointing down. Brendon knew well enough that the school didnt have gym class. He assumed that it was gymnastics then. A smile almost came to his face and he chuckled.
"That must be where Luke's kingdom is..." he said with a sigh and kept on walking. Walking farther down he passed the guidance office and the principals office. The thought of going in crossed his mind for a moment. He could have easily gone in and gotten them to change his schedule, but he didnt feel like it right now. Sighing again, he reached the end of the hallway, the only two rooms between him and the tall glass wall was the intersection, one leading to the back door of Ron's class, and a smaller room that he didn't know of. Slightly curious as to what was inside, he took a few dreamlike steps to meet it. He was surprised to hear Latino music playing inside. Not even considering the class going on inside, he peeked his head inside the door.
Surprisingly it was not a class, instead it was a small dance room, with only two inhabitants, both well into a passionate looking dance. Curiously taking him over, Brendon walked inside to watch. He was not noticed. The two dancers swung each other around the room and swung their hips perfectly to the thick beat, both of them having perfect grace as they moved. Both of them were excellent at what they where dong. It was a wonderful display of the samba.
Brendon's eyes stuck to that of the male dancer instead. He wasnt at all surprised to see that it was Laurent. But he was surprised that he wasn't in tights and leaping around the room like the ballet dancer he really was. But he looked like he was immensely enjoying himself. His partner was a petite Asian girl with short hair and excessive eye liner. But the two of them were almost conversing as they danced, their expressions doing all the talking. It was so strange that a conversation seemed to be going on between them. Both of them almost teasing each other as they strutted around the hardwood floor.
Brendon felt a prang of jealousy towards the girl, though he barely acknowledged it he was so engrossed in watching. Then, out of the blue and still perfectly in line with the beat, Lorry held the girl up into the sky as she wrapped her legs and body around him. Brendon shivered.
Suddenly, the girls eyes fell on him and she gasped.
"Hey...Hey! What are you doing in here!?" She spat and Lorry lowered her to the gound confused. Brendon blushed and made a bee line for the door.
"Hey! Hey wait! Brendon!" Lorry called this time, running after him. Brendon stopped at his voice and turned to face him. Lorry stared at him through big confused brown eyes, and panted as he did, a bit tired from dancing and running over. Looking him up and down once Laurent took a step closer and furrowed his brows with concern.
"Hey...What are you doing here?...Dont you have class?" He asked, still watching him worriedly.
"Uh...yea but...i was going to get my schedule changed," He lied deadpan and tired.
"Ah," he said, nodding in understanding and turned to the girl, "Antonia this is Brendon. Brendon this is my partner Antonia"
"Hi," He said, his chest almost convulsing with anger as the word left his lips for no reason.
"Nice to meet you," She said uneasily, unsure of what to make of him.
"What are you guys doing in here alone?" Brendon asked his heart sinking a little bit as his partner spoke.
"OH! We were just uh, practicing some Latin dancing for the talent show and for Chicago, we were just about to start doing the tango. Listen, are you alright?" He said quickly and with sincere concern obviously noteing the sad look on his face and just how bloodshot his eyes were.
"...Yea, yea fine..." He lied.
"Uhuh..." Lorry said, obviously not believing him. Looking around, he stepped outside and crossed his arms, "Does Mari know where you are?"
"No...Shes not really my babysitter you know," He said forcing himself to smile a little. Lorry chuckled a little at that, but the look he had never once left his face.
"I know..." he said and looked him over yet again, "Do you want me to walk you over?"
"No...its fine. I'm a big boy," He said forcing another smile. Lorry didnt return it this time, Brendon's faded along with it.
"Ok...well..." He said and looked back at Antonia, who appeared to be creeped out out of her mind, "Wed better get back before the teacher comes in to check on us..."
"Yea..." Brendon said waiting for them to go back in, but Lorry still stared.
"...Are you
sure your ok?" He asked. Brendon considered telling him everything, spilling his heart out onto the floor and bawling on his shoulder. But he stopped himself.
"No..." He lied. Laurent sighed and nodded, the look still on his face. He held up his hands in defeat.
"Alright then," he said and flopped his arms back down to his side, "See you next period"
"See ya..." he said and watched Laurent take Antonia's hand and lead her back inside without a second glance. When they had left him and the door was firmly shut did Brendon even allow himself to breath. When he did it was a long broken gasp and in another moment afresh batch of tears were forming in his eyes, yet again, for no reason other than his frustration.
"I'm such a god damn baby," He said, clutching his forehead as the tears slid down his cheeks.
