Deltora High


Deltora high is a highschool for humans and magical beings alike. The classes are for those who want to expand on their talents and classes are manely made up of the arts from painting and drawing to the art of swords play and hunting. Classes are scattered about the day and the last hour of school is a free hour for students to do what they will but they must stay on the grounds for a half hour. Here everyone is incoraged to be what they want to be. There are very few rules restricting what you do unless it's against another student. So come and see how well you can excelle, make friends, and make discovers about yourself and the world.

short bio: River's from a chinese-american family and even has dual citizenship. Her parents were both lawyers- until her father died. One of the criminals he persecuted didn't want to go to jail, so he first shot River's father, and then a few members of the jury. River is slightly scarred by this, but she's determined to make the best of her life.
race: Human, with a few... quirks I should say?
personalitiy: Determined, kind, a cry-baby, REALLY low self-esteem, and a habit of bottling her emotions. Can't stand to see a sad face, and can be rather nasty when she's mad. River also has a spite-streak a mile wide if she doesn't like someone.
powers: COMPLETELY accidental, but things.... happen around her. She can't harness it to good effect, but her luck is incredibly strange. And at random intervals she'll have super-human capabilities like super strength or super speed. There have been times when she could swear she flew.
weapons: None! Good grief, she isn't a superhero!
likes: Cake, strawberries, sketchbooks, sour candy, cats and kittens, medicine, and cartoons.
dislikes: Horror films, bullies, bitter foods (including coffee) and math.

Short Bio: Yes well... There's not much to remember... I remember watching my parents die in a fire and waking up changed. And for years I traveled looking for answers.... And soon I began to find them here at Deltora High but this school can do only so much for me.... What I really need is someone to be with and learn how to comunicate with others... But I'm not much of a people person...
Race: I'm an element shifter. Which means I touch an element and my body takes on the elements characturisrics. And if you are stupid enough to remove my blind fold or sun glasses you will be blown to pieces... Quiet litureally... I personally prefferr darkness as my main element.
Powers: can take on any element. And if he removes his e
ye wear before the sun goes down laser type beems come from his eyes and blow up everything in their path.
Weapons: All I need us my powers really, but I prefferr to use my massive black blade I forged myself.
Personality: I am generally quiet with my mind on many things surrounding my life. But when spoken too I'm really conversation novice and don't talk if I can help it. To me actions speak louder than words. I also flirt unconiously I'm told so don't take everything I do dead seriously. When I'm serious youll know, trust me.
Likes: rock/metal music, drawing, nature, and playing his guitar.
Dislikes: jocks who think that the world revolves around them, clingy girls that are always in your face, rap, and listening to lectures.
Other: I am often referred to as the blind junior but that is completely false. I can see but durning the day I have to keep my eyes shaded or closed. Because i can't open my eyes before the sun goes down or kaboom!! So I just have

Short Bio: Jeremy was born in seclusion and had always been taught that the outside world was full of evil people and that he would become one too if he ever ventured outside. This of course made him even more curious to see the outside world. So when he turned 16 he managed to sneak out of the forest and explore the world.

Personality: Jeremy is very curious. He is always asking questions about technology and is constantly writing everything down to prove to his family that the outside world isn't evil.

Short Bio: Sebastian comes from a line of well known magic users. Nothing really exciting has happened in his family until recently when they found his first cousin, whom was presumed dead. Now she's attending the same school he has been and he's determined to help her out, whether she likes it or not.

personalitiy: He's a real gentleman, but he also has a stubborn streak. And while he's a patient guy, push him hard enough and he'll crack. He's very protective of his cousin, Astelle.

Dislikes: Rude people, when Astelle gets pestered, green vegetables.
Other: He wears a ring that was passed through his family. He also has a birthmark, that looks like a hawk on a cross, as proof that he's part of the Cross family.

short bio: Astelle was born into a good family of magic users, but something happened. When she was 5 years old, she went missing right in front of her parents' eyes. Turned out she was kidnapped by an evil sorceress who was rebuked by her father and to do revenge, Astelle was kidnapped. Astelle was brainwashed. While growing up, she was made to work pretty much as a slave, along side other slaves. One of them was a witch, who was basically her caretaker. Astelle was taught magic in secret. But when the evil sorceress found out, she killed the witch in front of Astelle. Astelle, who still hadn't learn control yet of her abilities, got so angry that she literally shined and turned the sorceress into ash. By destroying the evil sorceress, the spell on her was also broken. Deeply hurt and ashamed for using her powers for bad, Astelle survived in the wilderness for a year before finding some peace. Than she sought out her family. Seeing her birthmark, her family welcomed her back and sent her to Deltora where she could learn to control her powers.

personalitiy: Very withdrawn, she hasn't really talk that much since her caretaker was killed in front of her. However, she still has trouble with her anger if she sees injustice in any form. She's still struggling to find a way to 'fit in with her family'. She does get annoyed on how her cousin Sebastian 'hovers' over her simply because she's not use to anyone sticking up for her.

likes: Nature, has found she loves art, Sebastian (at times).
dislikes: Large crowds, Sebastian (at times hehe), cruelty, injustice.

Thomas walked threw the now familiar halls of Deltora high. He enjoyed comming here and learning about not only his powers and how others around him acted. He observed people more than he interracked with them. As he walked threw the hall he noticed the freshmen girls gauking at him and he flashed them a smile and glanced at them from behind his shades. L he tried to do was be nice but he knew that it was going to be another interesting year. And he was going to savor every moment.

Vaneria wandered around holding a peice of paper that was the school map and she trying to figure out where to go, just then the wind took her paper out of her hands and now it was lost forever. "Well not like I could read it anyways" she spoke to herself out loud and spoke again "I could read latin better than maps" sighs and looks around.

Thomas went towards the Senior hall knowing his locker already. He had pulled a few strings with teachers and had gotten his locker exactly where he wanted it. Away from everyone else's lockers. He refused to be put through the hell of those girls that would hang on him all day. After he had made sure no student had mistaken his locker for their own he turned and walked outside. He saw a girl lose her paper and being the guy he was he manipulated the wind threw his body and brought the paper to his hands. He walked over to her and flashd her a smile. "Here you are. Be careful the wind is very tricky. Are you new?" he asked never seeing her here before. His trench coat tail snapped in the wind but he didn't feel the cold bite of the wind on his bare chest.

Rayne looked up from her drawing when a few people started to talk.She recognized the boy.He was Thomas?She shook her head not really remembering his name fully.Rayne shrugged and looked down at her drawing.

Seeing the girl's stunned look at the sight of him he sighed and caught movement from the corner of his eye. Is that Rayne? Maybe... But I have never really associated with her... Maybe I should just go... This girl seems a little lost... And I pray she won't tell her little friends about me... Thomas thought and waited for the girl to speak so he could make up an excuse to leave. He really was uncomfortable around people, no matter how hard he tried.

Rayne looked up and watched the two for a second.She decided to go practice her power so she they wouldn't think she was eavesdropping.Rayne grabbed her pencil and papers.She stood up and walked a few feet away.She could still see the two but couldn't hear them anymore.Rayne sat down and set her things beside her.She took in a deep breath and put her hands together.A small ball of air appeared.She smiled and started to move the ball of air around.

Not being able to take standing here like this Thomas smiled and said,"Well good luck... I hope you like the school..." he said ocworldy and swore at himself under his breath as he walked away from the girl.This is the reason I can never get to talk to a desent girl... Because I hate that ackword silence... And talking... he thought and walked towards the door and spotted Rayne making a ball of air. He smiled and walked over admirering her good control. "Thats good." he said and touched the ball and his hand turned to swirrling air and then looked at it curiously threw his sunglasses. His hand turned back to normal and he liked at her again. "Its Rayne isn't it?"

Rayne turned around and looked up."Yes that's correct."She said.Rayne let the small ball of air disappear.She stood up and looked back at Thomas,at least she thought anyway.Rayne shrugged at her thought."Your Thomas right?"She asked.

Vaneria walked around until she found a nice place to sit under a tree and then she pulled out her labtop looking up anime. She was also in the process of her own romance animation and then looked up at the sun and all around her.

"Yes." he said and smiled. He looked at her and nodded slightly. "How long have you been working on your powers?" he asked curiously.

Rayne nodded."Um I've been training with them for about 4 years even before I came to this school."She said.Rayne wondered why he was being so social today.Usually when she saw him he was walking by himself or trying to get away from a mob of girls.She laughed at the thought and shrugged.

Thomas smiled at her cute laugh and seemed to be able to read her mind. "Well you're very good at it.... And I think I'll see you around... Here comes my favorite people.." he said sarcastically as a group of four girls walked outside. He he quickly turned his back to them and threw Rayne a 'save me' look and walked quickly away. But not quickly enough because they had noticed him and were running after him.

Natasha Valentine took a deep breathe as she looked up at the school, her stomach fluttering with butterflies. "Calm yourself," she whispered, her voice heavily accented. She nodded once and began to walk forward, deciding to wander the school.
Her messenger bag bounced against her leg lightly, her pencils making a little bit of nose as she went. She didn't mind; it was otherwise a nice, quiet day, the sun warm on her skin.

Vaneria starts to stare more at the very small clouds as more come to form to create a bigger one and before you know it, the rain comes pouring down freezing cold and it felt like watered ice. Vaneria quickly put her labtop away in her messenger bag and stays under the tree for a place to get out of the rain. the tree was ten tiems bigger than any other tree around and it was the only one like it.

Val looked up as it began to rain, a small gasp escaping her lips. She scooped up her bag and pressed it to her chest, using her body to attempt to shield it from the rain. It came down like ice water, chilling her to the bone as it fell. She ran for the nearest tree- a very large one that stood out from the others.

Thomas seased the moment of the rain and walked outside knowing those stupid girls wouldn't follow. He happily stepped out into the rain and walked around the grounds, getting drenched in a matter of seconds. But he couldn't feel the icy chill and the rain just felt like warm little droplets on his skin. Water dripped from his hair and rolled off his bare chest. He then spotted two girls under the schools biggest and oldest tree. He debated about going to if but decided better of it. He had really had enough of girls today.

Rayne smiled when she saw felt the cold drops of rain in her face.She laid down in the grass grabbing her papers and pencil.She quickly hid them under her back as the rain came pouring down.She didn't know why but she always felt the rain soothing to her.She smiled and closed her eyes.

Val huddled under the tree, shivering as she clutched her bag to her chest. She didn't have a jacket on- she hadn't been expecting it to rain, and therefore had gone out in a thin t-shirt and jeans.
She saw movement to her left and turned,spotting a boy walking in the rain. Was he crazy? He acted like the rain wasn't ice cold, like it was a summer shower. He was even bare chested. She watched him for a moment, then looked down at her feet, wishing she hadn't been stupid and had brought a jacket along.

Vaneria started to try and clear the weather but it wouldn't work as lighting struck the sky and made her jump a little bit. She usually wasn't afraid of storms but this one might get bad soon. She slung her bag over her shoulder and climbed to sit on a tree branch which was kind of low to the ground. She looked around and saw one girl hiding soemthing it looked like, a boy standing out in the rain and a girl lying on her stuff in the rain. She shrugged and thought people must love the rain.

When Rayne heard the thunder she stood up and chuckled.She quickly put her papers in hr shirt.Rayne quickly stood up and ran into the building and watched as the rain came pouring down.She was soaking wet since she laid out in the rain.She shivered and looked up at the sky.

ThOmas smiled slightly as thunder crashed and lightning flashed. He was rather enjoying the works of natural and more so releaved that those girls where gone. He smiled as the lightning flashed again and he turned into metal just to attract the bolt. It hit him and his body turned into the bright white electricity. He grinned enjoying the power of the engery from the lightning bolt. But he soon lost intrest in this little display of power and his body slowly turned back to normal. He then decided to offer the girls under the tree help because he thought he saw one trembling.

Rayne watched as Thomas and chuckled."He really must enjoy the rain."She said to herself.Rayne smiled and looked down at her saoking wet body.She took in a deep breath."Let's try this Rayne.."She whispered. Rayne pulled her hands together and as she did water came flowing out of her clothes and hair.She stopped and looked down at herself.She wasn't as wet as before but still a bit damp.She frowned."I think I need to practice that."She said to herself.Rayne looked down at her wet paper shook her head."Great.."She whispered.Rayne crumpled up the paper and threw it outside in the pouring rain.

before Thomas headed towards the tree he noticed a paper being thrown out into the rain. He quickly picked it up and saw Rayne walk away. He stepped inside and as he did the rain disssappeared as quickly as it had came freeing the girls from the tree. He smiled and his body began to heat up and suck the water out of the paper. He uncrinckled the paper and walked down a different hall and cut Rayne off. "You droped this..." he said and handed the perfectly fine drawing to her.
