Kitsune smiled up at Holly and Shin, relieved. "Well, that's good," she said, beaming. A friend who's younger than you... Could she really mean it? Did Holly really consider her to be... Well, a friend?

She noticed that their little group had come to a big room that smelled like breakfast. She looked up at Shin. "Is this the cafeteria?" she asked him. She'd never eaten any meals at a school before; she'd only ever known the quiet, lonely life of a home-schooled kid growing up with her big brothers; until one by one they'd all gone away to boarding schools like this one. And now it's my turn, she thought excitedly.

Kitsune walked up to a counter with food on it, her nose just barely grazing the top of the counter. She spotted a cinnamon bun, but couldn't reach it - She was abnormally short for her age. ((And this is in Japan...)) She looked to her older friends. "Can you help me get that cinnamon roll, please?" she asked, still struggling to reach the treat.

"Thanks, Ash!" she exclaimed, grabbing the hot cinnamon roll from his hand. She walked over to the end of the counter and, punching in her number (she'd already been coached on this by her older brothers) and paying for her breakfast, which by the end of the buffet line had come to include a clementine orange and a carton of chocolate milk.

Holly laughed and picked up a tray. She to a plain bagle with butter, an apple, and a carton of chocolate milk. Holly followed behind Kitsune and put in her student ID number to pay then waited for Shin.

"Where are we going to sit?" Kitsune asked Holly, somewhat bewildered by all of the noisy kids occupying the cafeteria tables.

Shin grabbed his food, paying quickly. "Just find an open table." Shin said shrugging as he walked towards and empty table.

Kitsune sat down and immediately dug into her cinnamon roll, getting its gooey filling all over herself. "Morry?" she said, her mouth full of food. "Rerr are the mafkins?"

((She's saying "Holly, where are the napkins?" XD Just for clarification... Also, I love your new siggy, Broadway!))

Shin laughed watching Kitsune. It was funny, he couldn't help it. He stood up and gave her a napkin rather than Holly doing it because he wasn't sure if Holly knew where they were.

Holly laughed softly and was glad Shin got Kitsune a napkin. Honestly she had no clue where they were. "Kitsune are you a little hungry today?" She asked still laughing.

Kitsune smiled. "Maybe..." she took another monstrous chomp out of the cinnamon roll and immediately covered her face with a napkin.

Kitsune gulped down the last of the cinnamon roll and began peeling off the waxy skin of her clementine. "Holly?" she asked. "Isn't there a song about clementines?"

Holly swallowed her food not sure she had heard Kitsune right. "clementines? Um yeah I think. There's songs about everything else so mostlikely there is one about Clementines."

"Yeah," said Kitsune slowly, dropping the peelings onto her plate. "But, I mean... How does it go? I know there's something about being 'lost and gone forever,' but... I can't remember the rest!"

"In a cavern, in a canyon, Excavating for a mine, Dwelt a miner, forty-niner And his daughter Clementine. Oh my darling, oh my darling Oh my darling, Clementine Thou art lost and gone forever, Dreadful sorry, Clementine. Light she was and like a fairy, And her shoes were number nine, Herring boxes without topses Sandals were for Clementine." Shin sang laughing as he did. He could believe he still remembered that song, which just made him laugh more.

((......................................rofl.))

Kitsune laughed, plopping a slice of the sweet fruit into her mouth. "Yep, that was it!" she said, joining along with Shin in the song. Then -

"What a terrible song! I can't believe somebody wrote a song about a girl dying in a mine shaft!" Kitsune was joking, but she was a little mad - She was overly sympathetic to fictional characters. She remembered when she was little, and she hated when the bad guys were punished in fairy tales. Her mother had to make up new endings for them, involving diplomatic reasoning, fair trials, and reasonable punishments. What if the wicked witch had been lying?

Holly couldn't help but burst out laughing at both the fact Shin remembered the song and at Kitsunes reaction. "I'm not sure how you two remember that, I think I sang that in like kindergarden." She frowned slightly. "Why the heck to they teach kindergardeners a song about a girl dying in a mine shaft?!" Holly exclamed.
