"Before is always better to strike a social mood," Shaym said quickly, smiling and stepping toward the kitchen. "And any excuse to be speaking with you is worth it." With a small smile, the elf sat at the table taking the wine and glasses to set them in their proper places. "How much?" he asked, pouring himself half a glass. No use in getting tipsy on the first cup.
It was a fairly useless effort to keep his white eyes away from Sess . . . she was just too . . . too beautiful. It was like sitting outside as the sun set and trying not to stare at it. Clearing his throat, the elf moved to pull out the chair for Sess, ushering her to sit down.

**Vampire_Mistress_Jill** 05-02-2010 01:26 AM

Sess sat down, pouring herself a half glass as-well. Sess blushed and smiled at shaym "Why, I feel the same way" She said to him, looking directly into his eyes. His beautiful eyes....his lips...she looked down at her glass and took a sip.."Hope you like the wine...although I bet your used to much..richer brands.." Sess said and took another sip..she liked it.

Esmme 05-04-2010 04:36 AM

"I assure you," Shaym said with a chuckle, "I don't usually drink wine. It's reserved for . . . special occasions amongst my people." He let his white eyes rest on her face, and the elf smiled slightly. Rather special. Marriage, usually. And courting. And . . . well, the opposite gender in general.
Sipping his drink, he smiled again. "I like it," he said, leaning forward against the table. His silver hair slipped over one shoulder as he watched Sess intently. "Thank you for the company."
Blinking slowly, the slender male forced his gaze to his glass for a moment before letting it move back up to her eyes. Dazed.
"Are you hungry?" Shaym stuttered, pushing his glasses up onto his face once again. A nervous habit, it seemed. "It is my turn, after all."

((They should go to Shaym's house soon. *wiggles eyebrows*))

**Vampire_Mistress_Jill** 05-06-2010 10:58 PM

[[ Haha ok =p ]]

"Why, Um yes...and I thought that this was a special...well..not as special as what is special to you and your people I guess.." She blushed....wow Sess..good going..."um shall we? I am looking forward to eating your kind of food" She said with a playful smile.

God he is handsome... Sess had to force herself not to stare at him.

Esmme 05-07-2010 06:28 AM

"Finish first," Shaym said quietly, smiling as he finally turned his gaze to the wine before him. Sipping at it, he chuckled. "I wouldn't want to waste this perfectly good wine. The food isn't going anywhere."
White eyes drifting back to Sess, the elf blushed again . . . and finally finished off his wine. Faster than he should have, but luckily elven immune systems were different from human ones. Stronger, usually.
When he'd finished, the tall elf waited for the woman to do the same before standing. Formally placing one hand tucked behind his back, Shaym offered his second hand to Sess. "Shall we then?" he asked, smiling through a lock of silver hair. Breaking the formal posture to push his glasses back up, the pale man blinked slowly.
She's like an angel.

**Vampire_Mistress_Jill** 05-07-2010 08:02 PM

"why yes, we shall" Sess said not looking away from Shayms intense eyes..she blushed and looked away for only a second..Sess grabbed her coat and the shayms and handed it to him "Its supposed to be..chilly tonight" Sess said her eyes staring into his...Her heart of pounding so hard it was almost hard to breath but in a very good way...

Esmme 05-07-2010 11:24 PM

"Then we'll have to keep each other warm," the elf chuckled. He didn't mean it in a crude way, merely a polite way of saying that he'd take care of her. "I'll be sure to turn the heater on this time."
Smiling at the girl, he took his coat from her, helping Sess into her own before opening the door for her. "To my house then. Dinner is waiting." After all, he'd prepared it ahead of time.
The car ride was full of shy glances and sheepish smiles, embarrassed laughs, and small talk about the weather. By the time they walked into Shaym's small home, the elf chuckled. "Please don't pay attention to the papers everywhere," the tall male said with an embarrassed smile. The living room was full of dark wood and scattered maps, books, scrolls, homework from his students .. . everything. The only clean rooms were the kitchen and dining room, sadly. "I was too busy with the meal to remember the rest of my home."
The house smelled of books, spices, and the soft scent of an elven life. It was wilderness mixed with the musty smell of books. That was Shaym's life.
The food was quickly brought out after the host made sure that Sess was seated, her coat in the closet beside his own. He forced his eyes off of her in order to concentrate on getting things ready . . . which was done in five minutes flat. Setting a glass full of golden liquid in front of Sess, he chuckled. "A drink from my homeland," Shaym explained, setting another glass in front of his own place setting. "Similar to the cider that you've tasted here with your kin, but a bit more spiced."

((Food-wise, everything is spiced and full of different herbs . . . I'm sure there's meat, vegetables, a few fruit dishes, extremely smooth sweet bread, and a few other things that you might want to add in. Whatever you feel like eating, he's bound to have it.))

**Vampire_Mistress_Jill** 05-08-2010 11:41 PM

Sess instantly fell in love with shayms home, his race..everything about this home and the elven race was beautiful...."Wow.." Sh whispered...touching a few books skimming some of them even....she sat down at the table ready to eat.."This..this.." Sess couldn't even speak...."Wow.." Came out again in a soft whisper....She looked at shaym.."you..you really shouldn't have...." He eyes wet with tears of happiness. She blinked them away hoping he didnt see them.

Sess sipped his wine.."Wow..this is amazing..everything you have done is amazing....I.." She looked away blushing...could it be she was falling in love? Or maybe it was the effect of the wine that made her feel this way..." I.." She tried again..." I cant believe this,,,this..is so amazing everything...your home...you..." She stopped herself..she didnt want to scare shaym away after all..sess blushed and sipped some more wine..

Esmme 05-10-2010 07:15 AM

"I'm glad you enjoy it," Shaym said quietly, a soft expression on his face as he watched Sess stutter over her words. "You're the first person in my home in a long while." The elf smiled again, his white eyes lingering on her warm face. She then said something that made his head tilt a bit in consideration. Her stuttering words spoke of her enjoyment, but . . . perhaps something more.
"All of it is meant for an amazing person," he said, letting his gaze move to some of the food as he spoke. Serving himself a bit, he then pointed out a few things that he thought she would like. A few sweet foods, and a couple spiced ones . . . a smooth bread that went well with one of the dishes. Anything to change the subject and keep it from getting too awkward.
Despite the change of topic, Shaym's pale gaze kept flickering up to Sess' features, a light blush responding to hers spreading across his face every time he laid eyes on her. The tall male sipped at his own wine, trying in vain to force his attention elsewhere. He failed drastically . . . and ended up watching the woman's every move with a keen interest. "So," Shaym cleared his throat, blinking rapidly. "When did you become interested in teaching at the school here?" There. Something a bit off of what they usually spoke about. Something to help them each forget about the blushing, the awkwardness, and the embarrassment - not that those were bad signs. Usually they were good ones. . . .

**Vampire_Mistress_Jill** 05-11-2010 03:10 AM

"Oh, Well, I wanted to help..people I guess..." Sess said while filling her plate with all kinds of food "I love to learn, and to teach." Sess laughed.." A friend of mine said this was a great school to start out teaching" She shrugged " And its close to home..so its perfect" Sess sipped at the wine, took a bite of bread "MMMM" She said "Also, I love kids, and I am a writer, so English is...amazing, along with History." Sess smiled at the elf...She was either getting drunk Or falling head over heals for this man. Taking another bite of food she asked "What about you? Why do you teach?"

Esmme 05-11-2010 04:37 AM

"I have always been the sort to study," Shaym said quietly, taking a bite of his own food. "It seemed natural that I would teach." There were a few moments of silence before he spoke again. "After our people began to . . . dislike one another, I chose the human side of things." He smiled grimly. "As much as I love my people, I believe that they are wrong in this case. And if I live here, I live in peace." It had been long ago when the war started. Over three human generations, and one elven, had passed.
Taking yet another bite, the elf let his white eyes trail over Sess' face, blushing a bit when their eyes met. She was so beautiful, so delicate. And absolutely adorable . . . someone he found himself thinking about more often than not.
"I teach both elven and human histories at once," Shaym said, breaking the trance that came over him. "I wish to show them that neither side is at fault in the long run."
His gaze passed over Sess once again, and he cleared his throat before bringing his drink to his lips. Talk about having a hard time focusing . . . on anything other than her.
"Both of our people are interested in one another, but they also have a hatred forced upon them. If we were raised to think that the other side was our friend, then we would be much better off." It was then that his words seemed to leave him, and the slender elf paused for many moments. Blinking rapidly, he stuttered over his next sentence. "I-. . . well, I mean . . . have you . . .? H-have you . . ." Shaym trailed off, suddenly seeming a bit captivated. "Do you dance?"

((<--- has to go back in the thread and find out what I've written about the elven/human history. :XD))

**Vampire_Mistress_Jill** 05-12-2010 08:16 PM

[[ haha omgsh he is so cute! ]]

Sess ate most of her food while listing to Shaym talk Nodding in agreement. "Wow, Yes I agree with you, this war....its just a waste,I too wish we could get along, I am with you on this" Sess looked into his eyes, then looked away, eating.
dance? what what??? Sess blushed "Well, I have to warn you I um..." Sess blushed again.."Haven't danced..um since I was 16..." Sess sipped her wine.."Why do you ask?" Sess tilted her head in wonder.

Esmme 05-12-2010 08:29 PM

((:squee: I know!! LOL, he's so adorable. :glomp:))

Clearing his throat, Shaym lowered his gaze for a brief moment before gathering the sense to look Sess in the eyes once again. "I ask out of sheer curiosity," the elf said quietly, an embarrassed smile making its way onto his pale face. "And because I would be honored if you would join me."
Slowly standing, the tall male extended a slender hand to Sess, pushing his glasses back nervously. Yet another elven tradition: dance. Though Shaym knew that Sess wouldn't catch it, it was another traditional style of courting. It showed that they could become one, that their thoughts and movements would live together. With a dark blush, the elf glanced toward the opposite side of the room before letting his silver eyes move back to Sess.

**Vampire_Mistress_Jill** 05-12-2010 08:41 PM

"Oh" Sesses face turned dark red "Well, Id love to" Standing, she joined Shaym she laughed " I am not sure..how to do this..will you lead?" She was So nervous.

Esmme 05-13-2010 12:25 AM

"I will," Shaym said quietly, a strange sort of calm settling over him. The elf gently took Sess' hand, carefully leading her away from the table. Despite the living room being rather cluttered, the middle of the floor was clear enough for some movement. The dance started slowly, Shaym leading Sess into a slow adaptation of a waltz. From there, once she caught on a bit more, he slowly moved them on to a careful spin, and then from there, the human style of dance started to fade. Elven dancing was more . . . personal. Instead of keeping one hand in hers, as traditional for human waltzes, Shaym's hands moved from her hands to her waist, where they were traditionally kept with the elven styles.
Slowly speeding up the dance, they moved as one, Shaym leading the woman along after and with him in a series of graceful, flowing movements that seemed to have no beginning or end. It was many minutes later when the elf realized he was getting quite a bit carried away, and withdrew his hands, pulling them back into hers again.
"When we dance, we become one," Shaym said in a low voice, trying to regain a sense of normality in his mindset. "That is the thinking of the elves, anyway."

**Vampire_Mistress_Jill** 05-13-2010 12:47 AM

[[ Oh MY...*BLUSH*]

Dancing with shaym was the most intement thing she has ever done with any man. Blushing, she went with it, there bodys close, moving at a fast pace. This was indeed much different then the human way of dancing.
"We become one" She whispered softly to herself. She liked that.
"So, this is meant for such special occasions?"

Esmme 05-13-2010 02:13 AM

((:squee: OHmygosh.))

"This dance," Shaym whispered, clearing his throat and pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose once again, "is meant for young couples. Usually for-" The elf cut himself off, his blush darkening once again. Courting. "F-for two people who are interested i-in one another," he finished, stuttering over his words. "Y-you should hear my people sing. It is so beautiful . . . it isn't hard to dance when you're being called by their voices. Usually this dance is performed in the Summer or Spring time, when the ground is soft enough for such quick movements." Quite a few had fallen in the snow because of their dancing, though that wasn't necessarily something that Shaym wanted to bring up.
"Are you . . . uncomfortable?" the tall male asked, noticing Sess' blush, which made his own darken once again. "I-I didn't mean to- . . . I hope that I . . . I'm so sorry." Letting a few inches come between them, the elf frowned slightly. "I should have kept myself in check. I didn't mean to offend you in any way."

**Vampire_Mistress_Jill** 05-15-2010 11:29 PM

[[ ahhhh!!! "

"Me? Offended? Why would I?" SHe blushed " I mean...if what you say is true, then.." Her blush darkened "Perhaps were interested in one another...? Please correct me If I am wrong..I--" She pulled away, hoping she was right, she would feel so stupid if he had no interest in her...why would he?

Esmme 05-16-2010 09:51 PM

"Interested?" More like completely smitten. Shaym slowly relaxed a bit, his hands keeping their hold on hers. "I suppose so," he finished quietly, pulling her toward him once again. "You aren't wrong, Sess." Not if you don't want to be.
The tall elf met her gaze for many long moments, the two of them standing still in the middle of the room. "Is there anything else that you would like to know?" Shaym asked, referring to . . . anything, really. His people, himself, the house . . . he would answer whatever she asked wholeheartedly. "Anything you want to see?"

**Vampire_Mistress_Jill** 05-16-2010 10:29 PM

Sess blushed "You..you really like a simple boring human..like myself?" She looked down and smiled " I want to know everything, your past, your people, you" She smiled wider. "and in return, Ill tell you whatever you would like to know"
She smiled moving closer to him...

Esmme 05-16-2010 11:20 PM

"Who told you that you were boring?" Shaym asked in a quiet voice, and then he couldn't help but allow his arms to wrap around Sess' waist. The tall elf drew a slow breath, letting it out in equal speed. "My past is rather . . ." he paused, smiling a bit, "convoluted. But if you wish to hear it, then I won't deny you my history."
Slowly rocking Sess back and forth to an invisible tune, Shaym started with his birth. He was born in a time when war was only spoken of in whispered tones and rumors. His mother died in childbirth, and he was raised by his elven father. Since his father was a historian, Shaym himself naturally seemed to take after the man. Throughout his childhood, he was rather small . . . not the bravest individual when it came to outdoor activities. As soon as teen years hit, he met a few other boys in his city that took it as their personal vendetta to make Shaym a real boy. The scheme worked far better than it should have, and drew the boy out of his melancholy home and thoughts. Into his younger adult life, Shaym grew fascinated with the humans and their own histories, much to his father's disdain. As soon as he reached his older twenties (which, Shaym explained to Sess, was barely nearing the end of childhood in his own culture) the silver-haired elf made his first visit to the human lands. Around that time was when the Fae began to sap energy from the human dwelling places - and the humans blamed the elves. The elves thought it was just a way to bring war to their previously peaceful country, and reacted with violence. Considering elven-kind was previously good friends with the Faeries, it seemed like a reasonable thing to do. But while staying with the other race, Shaym saw that the humans were just as innocent as his own people. When he returned home, no one would believe him - so he chose to leave. He had grown accustomed to the human life, and didn't want to return to his studies with the elves, despite what he would be missing. There was more for him with the other race.
Shaym spoke for many minutes uninterrupted, and then let his white eyes lock on Sess once again. "My people aren't . . . like yours," he said in a quiet tone. "They are far more physical with their touch, but we have so many more rules than you do. You can't sneeze without breaking one of them." The "young" (considering he was in his forties in human years, but merely his older teens in elven sight) male slowly drew his hands away from Sess's waist - he blushed furiously. He hadn't even realized that they had ended up there. "And it will take a long while to explain my own kin." Myself included. "I pray you don't want to go home anytime soon?" Pale eyes lingering over the woman's features, the elf found his arms winding their way around her waist once again, enjoying having her so close to him.

((Pssha, sorry for the book. LOL))

**Vampire_Mistress_Jill** 05-18-2010 11:28 PM

Sess was amazed and dazed with Shayms story, she hardly even blinked while he talked. She blushed when He said There touch was more physical...."Well, I have all night" Sess smiled, her eyes locked with Shayms, he may be older than she, but she didnt not care, what she felt for him was strong, stronger than any war, race, or hate. Maybe even Stronger then Love If it were possible.

Esmme 05-19-2010 09:36 PM

((Just to clarify, age really doesn't matter for elves. Once they reach adulthood, they're pretty much all the same age - caught in their later twenties, perhaps younger thirties. ^_^ Just wanted to get that statement out of the way.))

"All night," Shaym repeated, keeping their gazes locked for many moments. "How does one describe oneself in an evening?" It wasn't easy, telling someone about all of your innermost workings. Slowly drawing Sess over toward the couch, where he cleared open books and loose papers out of the way, Shaym allowed the woman to sit before him. Keeping a comfortable human distance from her, the slender elf cleared his throat.
"I've heard that I study too much for my own good," he began, his white eyes drifting over the evidence of his work that remained scattered all about the room. "That my thoughts about my own people are cruel. I've seen that I am drawn to human histories and-" he paused. People. "Teaching younglings." There were a few moments of silence before he continued. When he did, Shaym seemed not to notice that he'd shifted closer to Sess, sitting less than a few inches from her as they resided on the couch.
"As you've seen, I can dance. And with my people," he grinned, "I sing. I can read and write both English and Elven languages, translate them into writing from both people." The pale elf frowned, his hand moving subconsciously toward Sess'. "I enjoy swimming and reading." Shaym thought for a few moments, his shoulder resting against his friend's. "But I really don't have time for hobbies. Or friends." How many times had the school janitor told him to get out more often? His life was lived at the school.
"But that's already changing," he muttered to himself, and the male pushed his glasses up his nose nervously. "A-and you, Sess? Enough about me." He blushed immensely, realizing he'd been speaking for well over ten minutes. "What about yourself?"

**Vampire_Mistress_Jill** 06-03-2010 01:32 AM

"Well..." Sess begin "I am boring...even more so put up agents you" She blushed. "Ok, here is MY life story..." She turned and looked at him. "So, when I was 16 my mother left....dad..got cancer...when I was 17...I got into college...I majored in writing and art, painting, sculptures...all that..." She paused...looking into his eyes with tears.."Ive never told anyone about....my dad..or my mom...."...pausing..." well I still take care of my dad...on weekends I visit him in his group home...he is also a skizo..."

Sess....wiped her eyes "well anyways...after college I can here." She smiled "Oh and I am not good at antying special..not like you..."

Esmme 06-03-2010 02:04 AM

"I'm sorry," Shaym whispered, slowly pulling Sess to him. Shifting so she could lean against him, the elf frowned. "And what's this about not being special? You teach others, just as I do. You have people that care about you, and you have a life that you can speak of." He was honored that she'd told him about her father, and he showed it in his expression. "You're only as special as you allow yourself to be, Sess."
A pale hand moved to wipe away a few of her tears, and the slender elf cupped Sess' face gently, a frown of concern on his face. "I don't see anything that isn't special." His white eyes lingered on her gaze for a few moments before he leaned forward and pressed his lips to hers, pulling away to wipe more of her tears. "You're special to me. Is that enough?"
