Sena recognized the voice of the approaching woman as the same from earlier that made his ears ring. He shifted so he was completely covered behind Dole. His muzzle was definitely staying shut this time.

'I might go deaf if she gets loud this close,' the lycan thought as he tucked his head under his paws. 'Not hard to imagine my brain exploding if she's gonna be angry too..'

[Sorry for shortness. xD; No pressure on Caden and Legato? Haha.]

"It's probably a chem lab or something." said the mischievous vampire, a smile of interest appearing on his face. He picked up a powder filled test tube from a wire rack. The powder within was actually metal shavings. "Do you think we could make gold if we mixed some of these together?"
This was one of the reasons he wanted to take Alchemy, making precious metals or gems. Although David was skeptical about it himself, he still wanted to see if there really was anything else Alchemy could make. Hopefully something he could use for future business ventures or to help his car go faster. Without thinking, or caring, about what might happen, David grabbed a nearby beaker filled with something blue and began pouring the contents of the test tube into it. It soon started boiling violently and the teen quickly placed it on the table and backed off, expecting an explosion of some sort. To his relief and slight disappointment, the liquid within merely evaporated into a red haze that hovered over the beaker. "Well that was uneventful."
David picked up a pair of tongs and touched the scarlet cloud with it. To his surprise, the red haze fell down and turned into a sludgy red substance that caused a layer of frost to appear on whatever it touched. "Weird." he said, brushing some of the frost off his shirt. "Wanna see what else these things do?" He smiled at Suki before moving to another table. This time picking up a metal lighter and attempting to ignite what looked like a piece of wood in a metal pan.

Listening to the student's response, Ami nodded and faced her Sentinel and Caden. She had a stern look on her face which was quite rare since Ami was usually seen with her cheery smile.

"Is this true Legato?" Ampere asked, though it was more of a statement then a question. Caden could very well see that the Headmistress was in her 'Headmistress' mode since she was always there see it since Legato kept dragging her into his little escapades.

The albino dragon nodded with his usual sharky smile, his albinic red practically glowing with mirth and mischief. "Yes it is true, Ms. Dew. I'm just trying to introduce your potential Beasitary students to what your classes may be like in the future."
It was a smart answer and one that was sligthly of truth. Caden considered since she recieved a school newsletter, that Ms. Dew recently became a fully-qualified teacher in Beastiary since Ms. Dew had a soft spot for all creatures. Art and Beastiary were quite far but from her previous experiences with Ms. Dew's lessons, Caden knew that she was a good teacher to have. Caden juggled the possiblity of taking this class this year and changing her timetable.

Her smile coming back into place, Ampere was quite grateful that her Sentinel had been considerate but knowing the self-proclaimed eccentric, she kenw that was possibly not the case.

"Cadence, are there any other reasons for exploring?" Ampere knew that getting Caden to respond was more of a wise choice, since the narcoleptic/occasional insomniac was more honest out of the Staccato Rondo duo.

Gulping lightly, Caden went with the truth since that usually what the Headmistress wants. "Well since it'll take a while for the Welcome Feast to begin I thought that maybe we could observe the creatures there. And if possible get into some brawls with some of the more agressive ones." Exhaling loudly a breath that Caden didn't knew she was holding, she continued. "I know it is somewhat against the rules to explore the High Maze Forest without teacher supervision and a Sentinel nor is it advised to brawl with any of the creatures there. But if you know from previous experiences, Legato is capable of fending off the Category 8 creatures such as the Bile Flower."

Nodding at the response, Ampere sighed. "I'll have to accompany you though, since some of you may not be able to identify with some of the aptly hidden creatures here." Turning to the group of students before the infamous duo, Ampere asked them a question. "Would it be alright with all of you if accompany you to High Maze? I promise I'm quite capable of looking after myself and will not get in the way any of you to have fun exploring."

"We'd be honored if you would join us, Miss Dew." replied the young vampire without waiting for his companions' responses nor thinking about how they might feel. To him, Miss Dew accompanying them was the only important thing. His undead heart was already beating fast as he thought of how he would try to protect the lovely Ampere, should anything happen in the maze.

Dole could not believe her ears. Well, she could in a way, but still, Allen's reply made her roll her eyes. 'Of course he'd want her to come, but really? Why does it have to be during some potentially awesome time?' was what started running through the orange head's mind. She let out a short sigh but smiled afterwards. 'Well, love is love? Pshh, boys...' Dole looked towards her fire elemental friend and started having a one sided mental conversation with her even though Fee wouldn't really know what she was thinking. 'Well Fee, looks like we'll have to ditch the lovestruck guy. We should probably make it so that he and Ms. Dew ended up alone together, just like in some cheesy romance movie. What's that you say? We should leave a trail of bait leading towards them for the monsters to follow? Although that sounds like a tempting idea, we currently do not have bait. I just hope she doesn't turn this trip into a lecture. I just might fall asleep!' She continued her musings while waiting for the reactions of her other schoolmates and the teacher, not realizing she was still facing Fee with an absent-minded smile.

Ice looked at the headmistress and said "sure you can come." Ice then turned to the group and said "we better go or else we will have to fight the entire lake" turning to the lake she made a cupping motion with her hands and seemingly out of no where a boat was formed out of ice. after getting in Ice called back "all aboard who is going across."

A light cheerful laughter escaped from Ampere's lips as she board onto Legato's back. She always enjoyed the rather dangerous ways of travelling since, before she became a teacher and headmistress, she always travelled to places of both high levels of danger and safety to observe the creatures before her. Because really Ampere loved all creatures and truly believed that each one, even the most pesky, has a place in the ecosystem called Life.

Looking at the ice-specialist student, Ami clapped at the talent that the elven girl held, "Well done, Miss Darkheart. I'm impressed by your skill. And it is rather considerate of you since Legato can't really transport all of you on his back. So let's divide ourselves into groups. You guys can choose, I don't mind." Checking inside her blue jacket, she felt the engravings on the switchblade handle. Happy that it was still in there as it always was when she was travelling, Ampere left it in there, hoping to only use it in case of an emergency. Hopefully, her combat skills haven't gone rusty from the lack of practice since becoming a headmistress of Lucid Crest.

Caden hopped onto Legato's back, seating herself near the end of his tail since that is where his blind spot was in this form. Caden will be able to defend Legato, the Headmistress as well as any other riders that will be riding with them on Legato's back. Placing her gloved hand onto the handle of Legato's sheathed sword, Caden prepped herself ready when they boarded since she saw slight movement in the murky dark waters of Lake Mesa. Caden knew from previous experience, that the aquatic creatures in there were very touchy when it came to their territory when she, as a freshmen, placed her hand into the Lake only to have it be bitten by one of the creatures there, in which Ms. Dew identified as a Palm Shark. Caden's gloved hand, when the glove is taken off, one could see the scar marks of the creature's bite on the palm of her hand. Luckily for her, Legato managed to get the Palm Shark off before it could take her fingers off her left hand.

Somewhere in the distance, Legato could hear the ringing of the school clock signalling another hour has passed, thus making only four hours before the Welcome Feast began. Bellowing loudly as well as imaptiently, since he was itching for a dangerous adventure as well as the possiblity of a fight, Legato ordered the rest of the students to hop aboard their chosen vessels, threatening to incinerate them if the don't. This rash and bold behaviour was rewarded with a hard squeeze near one of his vital points, which made Legato freeze on the spot. Struggling to turn his head to face the smiling face of the Headmistress, Legato managed to only to feel massive pain in doing so. "Don't be so brazen Legato, the forest won't be going anywhere let's take our time, it'll be ways away before the Welcome Feast begins. Also do remember that I know the vital points of all creatures so I'm letting you off with a warning paralysis. Are we clear, Legato?" Letting go of her Sentinel, whom spluttered as he turned away from the psychotic Headmistress whom is also his boss. Seriously, there were times that Legato thought the Ms. Dew was hell scary, since she was able to smile even in the most threatening of times and the fact that she can smile through most things it was indeed a terrifying experience when her expression changes to that of a stern teacher or a serious headmistress.

ice looked back at the beach and said "Dole, Allen, Lee, are you coming?" as she waited she started singing in Elvish. she sang and the birds came and flew around the boat and Legato and so she kept singing. the birds stopped when she stopped because she saw a angel flying towards the group.

Chinatsu smiled, and landed near the boats. "Hi..... May I come?" she asked, anxious to meet new people.

Ampere smiled at the arrival of the new student, as the little angel (literally speaking) descended down from the Heavens.
"Of course I'm sure the group here doesn't mind. Afterall there is safety in numbers." Saying this from her spot of the albino dragon's back.
"By the way, I'm Ms. Dew, Headmistress of this establishment." A smiled could practically be seen from the cheerful tone that Ampere has always carried.

With a pained roar and loud splash, Caden pulled out what was Legato's brief source of pain. Skewered on the glinting blade of Legato's sword, was the ugliest (and perhaps the most weirdest) creature one could see. In all its glaring and green glory was a fish with rather exaggerated large fangs protruding from its bottom lip, looking like fish hooks with a pointed triganular tip. It's yellow eyes has clouded yellow from the lack of air as well as from the sword blow. What was interesting about the fish was it's shape, which looked quite similar to a small hunter's axe.
"Anyone know what this thing is? I think it bit some parts of Legato's tail" Caden asked throwing the question out in the open, hoping that anyone can identify it. She then went to assess the damage on Legato's tail which had bleeding bite wounds but nothing too fatal.

Growling in pain, Legato twitched his tail out Caden's grasp when she tried to take a few of the hooked tooth out. Caden struggling to get the damned things out shouted, "Anyone liked to help me? I also think we need a healer here." Turning to face the new arrival Caden introduced herself, "By the way, I'm Caden and this is Legato a friend of mine. Stop struggling!"

Ice looked at Caden and said "I'm a healer and a fighter. Here let me help." jumping from her boat she slowly walked toward Caden and Legato. as she approached she started singing slowly to Legato calming him down. she then nodded at Caden and continued singing as the teeth were pulled out and then with a short burst in elvish she healed the wound on his tail.

"Wow, nice job, Ice." Fiona complemented, watching as Legato's tail healed almost instantly. The best she could've done was cauterized the wound... and that probably would have hurt more than helped. She jerked her head up as she heard a howl coming from deeper in the woods. "Err... did anyone else hear that?"

[Sorry guys, I'm not going to be able to get on much during the holiday week or two :sweat: Happy Holidays by the way, and Merry Knishmas for anyone who watches Chowder :D I don't think the thread is dying, maybe people are just taking a little break and thinking of what to type next. I get the feeling some of you guys might also be off for the holidays so the thread will be slow until next year, lol. I'll probably be back after New Year's since I'm staying over with relatives who may or may not have internet :XP]

Dole decided to jump on the icy boat since she felt it was getting too crowded on the Sentinel's back. She carried her little cousin with her just to make sure she could keep an eye on him. She was surprised to see the newcomer since she had rarely seen an angel up close. "Welcome to our adventure crew!" she greeted.

The teen looked over at the crowd on Legato's scaly back. Even if they hadn't gone anywhere yet, it seems like they were already having fun. She laughed at the freaky fish that had bitten the Sentinel's tail and watched in awe as Ice healed the wound. Her ears picked up the howl from the forest around the same time as Fee. "Doesn't sound like a werewolf." she said in reply to her friend's question. "More like a cat's?" She definitely had never heard this kind of howl before.
