Luna couldn't help but hear the boy who had sat beside her whisper "Mother" softly. She regarded him carefully out of the corner of her eye. The son of a faculty member... he seems almost surprised though... Most interesting indeed. Marcus whispered to her mind. I feel a most interesting aura radiating from him.... Keep and eye on this one Luna. I am not a child Marcus... I know what I must do. Luna turned her attention back to the boy's most interesting mother.

As the assembly ended Rei stood up immediately, the first one out of his seat. He knew his mother had seen him. Their eyes had made contact. Yet there she was, walking away. He wanted to call to her. To scream and get her attention. But it was just like before. How she always appeared in his life then just disappeared.
His legs almost turning to jelly, he fell back into his seat. The girl beside him continued to sit as well, watching him with almost curious eyes. Golden orbs followed his female parents back as she vanished through the door where the other teachers were. His father was in there somewhere too. Was he going to create a wall? Or would he at least try to make a little contact between them? Rei knew there wasn't much child-parent relationship between him and his biological mom and dad, but wouldn't the school be a good place to start creating one? Did they think he wanted to grow up a boy not raised by the people who created him?
He slouched in his chair. Disappointment welted up inside him. All his hopes, all his wants to see them... gone... There was no light at the end of the tunnel when it came to this subject. He would be stuck with his aunt for the rest of his life.
He closed his eyes and cradled his head in his hands. The students walking past him, letting loose into the school campus to get accustomed to everything, barely paid any attention to him. There were a ton of kids to get to know. Friendly ones who actually wanted to be social. Not Rei. Not now.

"You look like you've lost the battle of your life." Luna said plainly. She turned to face him. She stood and held her hand out to him. "Reaper-in-Training, Luna of the great house Demonia. And this," she held up her cat plushie, "is Marcus." Pleasure. Marcus' phantom voice rang in the boy's head. "I'm not going to make you talk to me like some quack docter, but I will offer to buy you lunch if it would help." Her face, for the most part, remained expressionless. She did however feel sympathy for the boy, she sensed some feeling of rejection radiating from him.

Lost the battle of your life... Luna's words echoed in Rei's mind. His gaze flickered between her and the little toy, Marcus. She must not ever get lonely. Not with Marcus with her. Strange that a stuffy spoke, but he didn't dwindled on the thought.
"Um..." His first reaction was to refuse. His spirit wasn't into it. He wanted to go to his dorm, make his bed, and crawl under the covers until tomorrow when school began.
But his mouth worked a little faster than his brain. "Sure, if you want. My name's Rei. Rei Robertson. It's a pleasure to meet you." His gold, slitted pupil, eyes flickered down to Marcus' large, matching ones. "As well as you, Marcus."

"Rei." She reached down and pulled him to his feet. She dragged her out of the assembly and out to the courtyard. She turned to him and addressed him in a manner Lady Demonia used on her when she was chastised, "It's not my place to ask questions. Your life is your own. But to sit and dwell thing that bring pain will not help you presently. Now what do you want to do about lunch?" She ended the statement with a small smile.

Leilah was huddled into ball in the corner of a hallway. She was currently waiting for someone, anyone, to walk down the hall so she could get into her room. When she had read her assignments earlier that week she was sure that she had gotten dorm 5. She didn't know if she had a roomate yet. She was also uncertain about her neighbors. She knew she had missed the assembly earlier that morning because she saw a hord of students exiting the gym. She wished she could open her door and go to sleep but her paws were preventing her, that and she couldn't reach the door. Her enire family could turn into feirce felines, like lions, tigers, panthers, and so much more. But no she was a common house cat. It was one her many weakness as a demon. Also whenever she turned into a full cat it took her a few hours to turn back to 'normal'. If her timing was correct she would be turning in a few more minutes. The scary thing is that she would be completely naked. But atleast he could finally open her door, hopefully noone would be around to see her in her birthday suit. Leilah heard approaching footsteps. Her ears twitched slightly, when they were close enough for her to hear them talking her head snapped up.
"FINALLY!" she hissed.

Rei glanced down to the ground. Luna was right. He was far too much a moper. It was a trait his aunt said neither of his parents had. If anything he had gotten it from his grandfather. Although, who that was he didn't quite know. His mother never said anything about her family. The only relatives Rei knew he was related to were his two aunts. Kelly, the younger sister of his father, and Kass, his mom's older sister. Not that you could tell she was older from first glance.
Rei looked at Luna. She didn't want to hear a 'you're right'. He could tell. She wasn't nosy and he was grateful for that. "Thanks." He said quietly. Then he smiled, the corners of his lips twitching upwards ever so slightly. "I hear the cafeteria has a good menu. Their wraps are spectacular."

Timothy Matthews paused in his step. There was a student in the hallway, touching and pawing at the knob of a door with their... paw? That's not a... humanoid... Tim thought to himself as he stared, eyes wide and surprised, at the white cat-like figure standing in the hall.
"Do you... need... assistance?" He asked slowly, unsure of whether or not he was being a bother. The shrill 'FINALLY' from the girl he got when he approached her made him think she had been waiting for him the whole time.

Luna smiled, "Sounds marvelous." She grabbed his hand and tugged him into motion before releasing him again. You're awfully chummy. Marcus whispered. Give me a break, he's the first person to talk to me outside of the court in years. Let me enjoys this. Fine. But when he betrays you don't come crying to me. Oh, believe me Marcus, you'd be the last person I would want to talk to.

She was so happy that she began moving like a bobble head.
"Thank You!" It came out as a soft purr. She rubbed her head gently against his leg and waited for him to open the door. But before anything could happen she got a weird feeling throughout her body.
"Oh Sh.." Then there was a big puff of smoke. When the smoke cleared there was a naked coughing Leilah on all fours.

"That crap is going to give me lung cancer." She suck out her hand with a smile. "Hi, I'm Leilah by the way."

Tim stood, gawking at the sight in front of him. Here was a naked student. A girl no older than twenty. Oh be still his beating heart. He was going to go into cardiac arrest.
Heat raced up into his pale cheeks. No, he had to calm down. He was a teacher, a teacher. A father of two fully grown women, and no less a grandfather at that too. Despite his age, he was indeed young looking. Barely appeared out of his twenties. Shape-shifting was a good thing in that sense.
"Uh... uh..." He could only stand there and stare at the girl. Leilah was her name? Very nice. Beautiful body--No! Don't think that! He scolded himself. "You... need... clothes... I-I mean... Uh... I... don't know what I mean..." His voice had become small and squeaky and he rubbed his hands together nervously, unable to tear his gaze away from the sight before him.

As Luna and Rei ate, the air began to grow stuffy. She was calming, comforting--yet somehow Rei was growing restless and uneasy. There was something about the girl that struck him as odd. But at the same time it was intriguing. He felt compelled to speak and be with her more.
His eyes landed on Marcus. "Marcus... is he your guardian of some kind?" Rei asked.

Leilah got off the floor and examine the fumbling stranger before her. She cocked her head to side trying to figure out what or who he was. He was obviously flustered about her birthday suit but she just shrugged and opened her door, now that she had her thumbs again. She secretly thanking evolution. She stopped in the doorway and peered over her shoulder.
"Thanks for the help, even though you didn't get to." Leilah let out a soft chuckle. "You wanna come in? I'm kind of late and missed the orientation, can you fill me in?" She flashed another smile, completely comfortable in her own skin, literally.

It was wrong, Tim knew, to go into a student's dorm. It was wrong to be looking at them naked. But hell, it was even worse to think what he was thinking. Alone with a girl in her room while she had no clothes.
He was a man though. A man who, despite his looks, was a lot older and needier than he showed. He opened his mouth, wanting to decline the invitation--for it was the right thing to do--but he found himself nodding his head slowly. She just wanted to be filled in on the assembly, right? What harm could it be? "Sure..." He spoke, voice slow and drawling and began moving towards Leilah's dorm room, until a voice stopped him in his tracks.
"What the hell are you doing?"
Tim halted, foot raised. At once his temples began to dampen. Oh crap... was all he could think. He knew that voice. He knew it well. It was the familiar vocals of his oldest daughter, Kass.
Kass had her arms crossed over her chest and a glare set on her face. She was mad. Then again, Kass always looked mad when she saw him. There was no good relationship between her and her flakey father.
Kass' eyes, small, yellow and pupil-less, slid from Tim to Leilah. Seeing the lack of clothing Leilah had, her nose screwed up and her lips twisted into disgust. "Oh god..."
"It's not what it looks like!" Tim said, raising his arms as if to defend himself from his disapproval. "I swear! It's not!" He looked at Leilah for support.

Leilah rose her brow in confusion. She looked down at herself, then to the man, then to the knew female stranger. She repeated this act a few more time before it her. Anyone stranger walking in on this situation would think the worse.
"Hold on one sec." She dissapeared into her dorm and grabbed one of the linen sheets off of her bed and wrapped it around her. Then she reappeared seconds later.
"Thats better, no isn't it?" She looked between her two guest and continued smilling even though she could almost smell the tension between them.
"Hi, I'm Leilah. I'm a cat, well cat demon. Your boyfrend here." She motioned to the sweating boy, " Was walking by and decided to help me while I was still a cat. Then I went poof." She made and another motion with her hands. " Then I was human again. Unfortunately I'm always naked. I was late so I asked him to tell me about the assembly and then you showed up. Whats your name?"

"Boyfriend?" Kass and Tim said in unison. They shared a look. One filled with nothing but horror.
"He's not my boyfriend." Kass growled.
Tim nodded his head vigorously. "No, not at all. I'm her father."
Kass' glare narrowed at the dark haired man. "Biologically only."
"You know, you could hurt my feelings by rejecting me like that..."
"Whatever."
Kass shifted her attention back to Leilah. Seeing a naked woman didn't bother her at all. It grossed her out that her father was no doubt going to do something completely illegal (in human terms) behind the teachers backs. She knew he shouldn't have gotten hired. Hell, she didn't even want to work, but unfortunately Mikayla forced her too with the help of Kass' mother, Silvia.
"Kass Matthews." Kass introduced. "I'm a supervisor here at the school. I came here to talk to you, girl." She shot Tim another dirty look. "You, on the other hand, can get the hell out of here."
Tim stuck his bottom lip out and placed his finger tips together. "Just like your sister..."
"Shut up."

"You're her dad? But you look so young, I guess its one of the many perks of being a demon." And Leilah wasn't lying. He looked like he could be a student. She was also shocked that Kass hated her father so much. After she got over the initial shock, something Kass said alerted her.
"You need to talk to me? About what?"
Leilah began thinking she was in big trouble for being late, or being naked, or maybe it was a combination of the two.

Kass ignored Leilah's question completely. "Get inside." She ordered. Pushing Leilah from behind, she closed the teen's door behind them as they disappeared into the dorm room to discuss the matter Kass had been instructed to speak about, leaving Tim standing in the hall by himself.
He fiddled with the hem of his navy blue dress shirt. "Kass is such a bully..." He mumbled to himself before turning and wandering down the hall back to the school. His patrol was over. He would get Oliver to take over for him. He couldn't handle the stress of the students and the pain from his daughters neglecting him.

Dylen was sitting on his bed staring down at the floor when Reanna literally kicked open his door. His head snapped up, long blonde hair shifting with the motion. Did he not lock it after he hid in his room? Or had he simply thought he did? Whatever the case, he was a fool to think he could hide from his friend.
Reanna's glare was so angry and powerful, it made the demon king shrink back in fear. "What the fuck were ye thinkin'?!" She all but screamed.
Dylen spluttered. "I... I... I uh..."
"Ye didn' show up!" She seethed. She stalked into the room, slamming the door shut with a wave of her toned arm. "Do ye know what we had t' do?! We had t' get Charlie t' do the speech! Charlie! Charlie fuckin' Matthews!"
Reanna was standing in front of Dylen by then. She leaned forwards and her long, pointed nose was almost touching his smaller, much cuter one. "That woman ain't a pushover. This school's got more 'n enough t' deal with an' puttin' her up there on the stage set us back a whole lot o' money!"
The angrier she got, the faster she talked and the thicker her accent grew. Dylen, in all the years he had known her, never really got the hang of translating what she said when she was fully ticked off. Terry was the only one who could do that and he was nowhere to be seen. Dylen's saviour, his older cousin, wasn't with him at the moment he needed him most.
Figured.
Dylen leaned backwards to try and make some space between them. It was hopeless because Reanna simply shortened the gap once again as she started yelling at him. She was the only person who did so. Not because she didn't take crap from anyone and didn't give two hoots about rules and laws, but she knew Dylen better than anyone else (maybe not Terry) and she didn't see Dylen as her king at all. She saw him as the annoying younger kid she had to babysit her whole life. A friend, as she never admitted.
She went on ranting for a good five minutes until finally (Finally!) she drew in a last breath and hissed her final words right in his face. "So... what're ye never gonna do again?"
"Miss a speech..." Dylen whispered. Like a child who was ashamed and being scolded by his mother.
"Good boy." Reanna grunted. She straightened her back and placed her hands on her hips. "We've got the three names down."
"Do you? Who are they?"
"Two girls, one boy. Names're Regora Janquell, Luna an'... Rei Robertson."
Dylen's ears visibly perked. "Robertson?" He repeated. "As in... A relative to Vincent and Kelly Robertson?"
Reanna nodded. "He's Vin' an' Charlie's kid." She said.
Dylen blinked, blue eyes widening. "They have a child?"
"Aye."
"That's..." He wanted to say 'very hard to believe' since neither Vincent nor Charlie seemed the parenting type. Everyone knew they were together, although not married, but their relationship was... odd... and the thought of them having a boy with one another was... weird...
A mental image of Charlie with a bulging stomach sent shivers down Dylen's back. Charlie looked more like a guy then a lot of the men who worked for Dylen. How she of all people went through pregnancy was beyond him. "So they are the three he picked? What about guardians? Any of those yet?"
Reanna, again, nodded. "I've sent some o' the staff t' speak t' them. Kass is headin' fer the cat demon, Leilah Sullivan. Mikayla is goin' t' a young Doppelgänger named Amaya. Wave took the other girl, a hybrid dragon demon. Kada Reiryuu."
Dylen hummed and hawed over the names. "Only one boy..."
"Women're better." Reanna sniffed, crossing her arms over her chest.
Dylen gave her a look, but smiled nonetheless. If there was anyone out there in the world who believed more in a woman's strength than Reanna, he had yet to meet them. Standing off his bed, he stood so he was eye length with his friend and his smile began to grow. His long, blonde hair was out of it's ponytail he usually draped over his shoulder, and fell down his back like ringlets of golden silk. "Let us give them a week or two to adjust to the school." He said. "Then we will bring them in and explain the mission."
"This' a lot t' put on some kids." Reanna frowned. "Think they can do it?"
Dylen didn't reply for a bit. When he did he had his eyes closed and his hands folded together over his lap. "We must only hope that they can."

"Hey! What the hell is your problem?" She snarled at her 'house guest'.
"Was theere really a need to slam the door in his face." Leilah glared and Kass for a few moments before her looks softened and she flipped her hair and she began walking deeper into her dorm.

Luna chuckled. "Marcus here is more of a surveillance tool. What he sees, Lady Demonia sees. He can also talk to her telepathically like he does to you and me. But... he's also the only friend I have. I'm a reaper in training under the guardianship of my Lady. She takes it very seriously, all I ever did was train. I never met anyone outside of her court. Well, except you now." Luna smiled happily.

Once again, Kass ignored the questions shot at her. She simply gave Leilah a look. She was anything but a child lover. She hated kids, especially loud brats. It reminded her too much of herself when she was younger. Not to mention patience was one of those traits that definitely did not run in either of her family lines.
"Be quiet and sit down." Kass ordered. "We have... what you could call a 'mission' for you and a couple others. You can't tell anyone--aside from the other students who are apart of this--anything, understood?" Her foggy eyes narrowed on the teenager that was staring up at her. Or down, technically. Kass was only 5'6".

Rei tilted his head to the side slightly. "Reaper in training?" He repeated. "You mean... like the Grim Reaper?" He tried to picture Luna wearing a long, dark cloak, her face made of nothing but bones and a scythe in her hands. Beside her, the same version of Marcus. Rei couldn't help from smiling at the silly picture.

Mikayla Elenn glanced around the lower floor of the girl dorms. She could sense many students energy levels, but none of them was the one she wanted.
Taking the stairs one at a time, Mikayla was careful to mind the bottom of her outfit. Being an Emiriling (heat user demons), she couldn't stand the cold of the above ground without wearing protective, heat containing clothes. Yet, despite wearing at least five pounds of clothing, she still looked exotic and beautiful. Beauty came as a trait for her demonic race. All Emirilings were--and always will be--extremely "pretty" as Annabelle liked to say.
Mikayla's eyes, large and orange yet still lacking in emotional care, finally caught sight of her target. A young, female, doppelgänger demon by the name of Amaya. What surprised her wasn't the appearance of the child. It was who she was standing with. One of the two targets Reanna had ordered to be filled in on the mission. What was her name? Kaida?
Mikayla approached the two with long, quick strides. They were talking in the hall. The hybrid dragon, Kaida, had just asked Amaya if she wished to see her true form. "Excuse me... I need to speak with both of you." Might as well tell them at the same time instead of waiting for Wave to get her hands on the dragon.

Leilah wasn't to great at taking commands. It was one of the most famous traits about cats. Unlike mangy muts they didn't listen to there masters and the had a tendancy to be very, very stubborn. But Leilah wasn't in the mood to argue and she was looking foward to an afternoon nap. She looked down at the woman and let out a fustrated sigh. With a typical roll of the eyes she sat down on her bed Indian style and wrapped herself up in the linene so her eyes were the only thing visible.Then she asked the only question on her mind.

"What mission?"

Kass glanced behind here to see an empty chair. She took the seat without asking permission. "Lets start from the beginning..." She said. "Do you know anything about the demon history?"

"Um... I know about the whole humans thought we were bad so they cast us out ordeal. The King goes all omnious on them with the whole 'we'll be back' and so on and so on. Thats all I know so I'm pretty clueless. Teach me oh wise one." Her last sentence was oozing with sarcasm, as she bowed. Once again rolling her golden feline eyes.

Amaya walked into what was now her dorm room, the very first one she had ever had. She had told her new friend that she would see her dragon form later. She had wanted to see where she would be living from now on. She figured that once she unpacked it would feel more like home, but now all she wanted to do was sleep. While she had been standing outside she had watched a cat turn into a naked girl. It had been a huge shock to her system to see. “god I’m probably the worst demon ever I bet stuff like that is an everyday occurrence to the other kids here.” She mumbled and threw one of her suitcases on the bed.

A nerve in Kass' temple twitched. This girl was almost exactly like her younger sister. Only, she actually looked female. "That's just the short story, smartass. The long one includes the crystals.
"Demons and humans made a pact a long time ago. The sigh of their peace were ten crystals. The crystals were made by the humans, and the demons put a special seal on them, giving them the ability to amplify a person's power. After a few hundred years a demon--who we call a "dark lord"--came along and tried to steal the crystals so he could use them to overthrow the king and wipe out the humans.
"He was stopped, obviously. But before the crystals were retrieved the dark lord placed an incantation on the crystals and they disappeared. This incident is what brought the humans to fear us demons. They wanted to fight us.
"Well, of course demons could and can easily kick the human race's ass, so King Dylen--obeying the demon laws--refused to harm the mortals and took all of us demons underground."
Kass leaned back into the chair. It was quite comfy. She continued on talking, "The school was built because we've got information on the crystals locations and a "rebel" group has been created in the demon race. People who want to kill the humans and take the above ground as our own. His Majesty has to stop them, so he's sending out you guys to get the crystals before them."
Kass pointed at Leilah. "The three students that have been chosen will be sent out in a couple weeks to go and retrieve these crystals. You, and a few other kids, will protect them along the way. Got it?" She asked.

Mikayla's lips twisted into a deep frown. The girl, Amaya, had completely ignored her. Inwardly she started seething. How she hated children. Their impudence and rude attitudes were absolutely horrid.
But an order was an order. Giving the dragon girl, Kaida, a final look, Mikayla proceeded to knock on Amaya's door and waited for a response. Wave would be coming soon to speak with her target. Mikayla had no reason to drag her in any further if Amaya didn't.

The knocking on her door was getting annoying. All she wanted to do was finish unpacking then maybe take a nap. Tossing the cloths she was hanging up back into her suit case she ripped the door open”Can I help….oh.” The person at the door not only didn’t look happy but it didn’t seem like they were a student either. ‘Crap, I mouthed off to a teacher already.’ It wasn’t turning out to be a good year and it was only the first day. “I’m sorry do you need something?” she looked down ashamed for snapping at a facility member.
