Her sharp mind immediately picked up on Aden's attempt at being nice. This made her smile and she relaxed infinitismally((oooooo fun word!)). Glancing around furtively for a moment, Catlyn gathered her things together, well, really she just picked up her bag. She stood up and switched the nameplates on the two desks: hers and the one between her and Aden. She glanced around once more to make sure that no one had seen what she'd done then folded herself gracefully into her new assigned seat. Callahan followed a few seconds later as he finally recovered from being dumped over; he had been sitting on her feet after all, and when she'd stood he'd been tipped. She arranged herself carefully before turning her attention back to Aden. With a small grin, she gave him the universal sign for quiet by raising one finger to her lips. "Thanks for saying what you did... But it isn't that simple for me." She gave a tiny shrug, barely raising her shoulders at all. However, the faint smile never left her face. Things like that didn't bother her much anymore.
"What about you Mr.Aden Blake? You said you were the same your first year, so I take it this isn't your first year. Right? What year are you in then?"

Aden continued to smile as Catlyn moved to the seat that had been empty and between them. To him the vampire girl appeared a little more relaxed than she had previously been. His red eyes had witnessed the 'dumping' of Callahan and he once more quietly let out a chuckle. "It may seem that way at first, but as I said I'm sure you'll fit in just fine here" he said once more giving her a reassuring smile.
He had both been a bit surprised and not by her question of how many years he had been here himself. "You are correct on that assumption Miss Catlyn. And please you're welcome to call me just Aden if you'd like. I'm a second year currently. I'm actually a bit surprised that the invitation was sent to the correct foster home" he said with a quiet and gentle laugh.

For the first time, a look other than shyness and kind curiousity crept into Catlyn's eyes. "It isn't the same... Nothing is ever that simple. Not for me." She kept this expression for a moment before letting her face soften. As if once again needing the confidence boost she got from him, she placed her hand between Callahan's ears and stroked him absentmindedly.
"Foster care eh? I've been on my own for as long as I can remember. I never once wanted to go through the hell that was finding a new family. You're lucky though, at least you don't have to go through that anymore. At least until summer break." Her hand continued moving the whole time, but now, Callahan sensed that something was up. He looked imploringly at Aden for a moment then away and let himself be petted.

A ghost of a smile appeared on Nickolai's lips, maybe she wasn't all bad. "I don't know about that, sometimes a bad reputation can help you by striking fear into their hearts," Nickolai said calmly, "Its actually quite fun if you think about it so don't worry about trying to change you reputation," Amazing, he was actually giving advice the old man would have a field day with this.
Nickolai gently pulled the anicent spell book closer to him, finding the spell where you conjure up a mini-library. He quickly cast the spell making the mini-library appear with a 'pop!' and quickly chose the book that he had been searching for. Nickolai gingerly placed the book onto Rinno's desk, in dark red script the title was "How to Destroy Your Enemies" Nickolai waited a few seconds before saying, "Also if you insist in trying to stop your reputation and it fails well you could always try this. It has many interesting spells," Nickolai winked at her before looking at the other books in the mini-library.

"A backstabbing bitch?" Aidou turned his head to the two talking, "How'd you get that reputation?" He questioned, his tone somewhat apathetic. He didn't really care if they answered him or not, it would be nice to have people who didn't want to kick him out of the room though.

Aden could only smile reassuringly once more at the vampire girl beside him. He had noticed the look that Callahan had given him, though he wasn't sure exactly what aid that was being begged of him. He could only shrug and decided that at the moment it wasn't anything to maul over right now. "Don't worry, I've discovered things are a bit easier here than they are outside of the school grounds. What may seem rather difficult out there in the world isn't quite so much here" he said kindly trying to reassure and possibly convince Catlyn that things would indeed be a bit easier here, even for her.
He quietly listened as the girl revealed she had mostly been alone. "You know in some respects I wish things would have went the same way. It's hard to watch your human families grow older and die while you remain the same as you were when you first began living with them. I wouldn't be surprised if I was transferred to another home before the end of the year, so more than likely foster care will even be affecting me here" he said with a small and quiet laugh.
He had noticed that in a different section there were three students conversing amongst themselves and in the Moon Class the werewolf girl was still by her lonesome. That fact of course didn't sit well with Aden and before long he was calmly motioning for the girl to come and sit with or near him and Catlyn for the time being so that she wouldn't be alone, especially since she too looked like a new student. "I'm surprised there aren't many Moon class students here yet. I hope you don't mind if I invite her to sit over here so she isn't by herself" he said in a sort of apologetic tone as he realized he had motioned for the wolf girl to sit near them without first asking the vampire girl if she would mind.

Leoda had noticed the vampire boy motioning her to come closer. She tilted her head in response and nodded. She had felt quite isolated where she was so she slid the few seat over to be closer to the moon class."Sorry if I looked at you funny before," she said softly, "I've never seen vampires before. Just wolves... my name is Leoda Firenze Ieao... but you can just call me Leoda or whatever floats your boat. I get called lots of things." She looked to the other vampire girl hoping she wouldn't mind the wolf so close to her. Leo began figiting again. Her horrible habit of not being able to sit still.

Aden smiled at the werewolf as she moved closer after seeing his motioning. "It's quite alright and understandable. I know that typically the vampiric and werewolf races don't typically mix with one another, so I do not mind. My name is Aden Blake, though simply Aden will be quite fine and more preferable than my whole name" he said, letting out a quiet chuckle.
He had noticed Leoda fidgeting and wonder if perhaps she was either nervous or if she was simply antsy. Either way he didn't mind it, but he did unconsciously hope that it wasn't due to any nervousness or uncomfortableness at being near vampires, and two of them at that. He also continued to hope that neither Catlyn nor Callahan would mind the werewolf sitting near them.

Leoda Firenze had noticed Aden looking at her strangely. Then she realized it was because of her figiting. "Ah, pardon me for my fidgiting. I've never mastered the art of sitting still for periods of time. Guess it's because I grew up out in the wild," she appoligized. Leo always felt bad for being so antsy, but she never was really able to prevent it. "It's nice to meet you two though. So far all the Moon Class is upper classmen, and being new I don't quite fit in yet," she said quietly.

Aden smiled reassuringly at her. "It's quite alright, it's nothing to apologize for" he said gently to Leoda. He didn't mind that the werewolf appeared to be rather antsy, after all each person was different. In some ways he was similar when he was new, although his fidgeting came more from nervousness rather than anything else, so he knew it was fairly different.
"And you'll find where you fit in at no time at all. It might seem a little strange at first, but now is the time to mostly just enjoy yourself and have some fun in finding out" he said once more with a smile. Aden knew a few of the Moon Class upperclassmen and most seemed rather pleasant to hang around. He had no doubt that soon both Leoda and Catlyn would easily find their places within the school. "And if either of you just need someone to talk to or just hang out with I'm always open for that. Then you won't be completely on your own" he said kindly with a smile to both girls.

When Aden's attention shifted to Leoda and away from her, Catlyn turned her attention back to her desk. She sat, staring down at it once more and petting Callahan absentmindedly. She wasn't trying to be rude in not talking to the lycan she just wasn't social. Her eyes drifted closed as she hoped, not for the first time since he'd said it, that Aden would be right. She hoped that things would be easier here. She was tired of everything being hard. Because she was looking away, Catlyn didn't notice the kind smile that Aden had given her and Leoda.

{not that I am aware of. }
Leoda grinned at Aden. "Thanks it bothers a lot of people usually. I just never had to sit still in all my life... expcept when I'm sleeping off course," she answered. Then she nodded when Aden said he would always be welcome to having their company. "Thanks again! You're really nice Aden," she exclaimed. Leo was happy to have made her first friend who was not a werewolf and not scarey at all! She was never good at making friends in the various packs she had been in. It just never quite worked out right. Usually if they were a boy they wanted to be mates and if they were a girl somtimes they were jealous. Being a wolf was never quite as thrilling as it seemed.
Leo had noticed the girl had looked away from the two of them when she had come over. Being somewhat bold she looked around Aden to the girl. "I promise I won't hurt you. I'm not a bully or anything just always jumpy," she stated looking at the girl. She had a small smile on her face and her ears twitched a little bit. Leoda kept her body calm for the first time today trying to make the girl comfortable.

(I don't think she has for awhile now.)
Aden continued to smile at Leoda and nodded. " It's not a problem. I will agree that there are a fair amount of others that may find it bothersome, but I don't mind at all. It's understandable, after all sitting still after a while can be a bit difficult too" he said calmly. He was glad that his offer of friendship wasn't immediately rejected like it occasionally was. "You're very welcome and thank you for the compliment. I admit that I do try" he said playfully with a quiet laugh.
His gaze then went back to Catlyn. She didn't appear to mind the werewolf's presence so he figured that was a good thing. She appeared to be rather quiet though he figured that, that was just how she was. He hoped though that she was at least a little more comfortable in their presence, even though they had all just met, and that she wasn't uncomfortable instead.

When Leoda addressed her Catlyn looked up. Her hand stilled on Callahan's head for a moment. Looking to the left and right she then raised her free hand and pointed to her chest. The look on her face showed the question she didn't ask outloud. 'Me?' Of course it's you stupid! Who else is she talking to?! Stop being shy, they aren't going to hurt you. Not here.... Catlyn shook her head to clear her thoughts.
"Thanks Leoda. It's nice to know, I just... I don't talk much. Not really a people person I guess..." She smiled sheepishly, her fangs standing out starkly against her other teeth. Turning her attention to Aden the smile turned from sheepish to just, well, a smile. "I'm kinda' quiet ya know? It's just the way I am." She peered down at Callahan who had bumped her palm with his nose. That was his only way to show that he was proud of his mommy. "G'boy..." She said to him under her breath. When she looked back to the others she appeared visibly calmer. Her body looked less tense and her smile was less timid.

"That's good. Yeah, I'm sure I'll get used to it just where I'm from I never had to sit still. Always doing something," she smilied at Aden. It was true. Leo had never been to a school before. She had previously just been running wild in the woods and forests. Doing little tasks asked of her by her pack... though she had never found the perfect pack. She always had to leave. "You don't have to try really hard obviously. I think you're just a nice person," she said softly to Aden.
hen she looked to Catlyn and nodded. "No I understand. I used to be really quiet too. I just wanted to let you know that I'm not a bully in case that's what you were worried about," she beamed happily. It was good to know she was just quiet not hating Leoda. She had quite a problem when people hated her. Always made her feel extremly awkward whenever she saw them.

Aden quietly chuckled and nodded his head in understanding. Although before the school he never really had much interaction with werewolves he knew enough about them that he could understand why Leoda was fidgety. After all they were perhaps one of the more active races that he knew about. "I can understand that. From what I've seen and learned most of the werewolves that I've met here are very similar" he said gently. To a certain extent he could understand being an active person, although his activeness was a bit more limited due to the susceptibility to the sunlight and heat.
The crimson eyed vampire continued his calm and kind smile. "Thank you for that. I'm usually always afraid though that I'll end up saying something offensive accidentally." he said with a chuckle and rubbing the back of his head. He tried to make sure that anything he said wasn't offensive, but then sometimes words and phrases that aren't meant to bring offense sometimes do. Throughout his entire 130 years of life, that was one of the things he had learned and he knew that pleasing everyone just wasn't something that could be done successfully.
He then turned his attention once more to the vampire girl beside him. "I can understand that as well. As I've said I was fairly similar during my first year here. After a while though a few others that I've met here began to rub off on me, and now I find at times it's difficult for me to stay quiet. It's kind of strange" he said quietly and gently with a matching chuckle.

Leoda nodded quickly. "Mhmm, I'm used to huge expanses of forests and not really having much to do but run and hunt," she grinned. Though her pack life was never that simple. All the males wanted a mate and she was a common want. All the other females got jealous and she would feel awkward and run away. The girl nodded again when he made the point of saying something offensive. "Eh, it's sorta hard to offend me. I get a hot head sometimes, but it takes a bit to make me mad," she grinned. Leo had flipped out because a she wolf {haha} had told her she reaked of pond water asking if she was raised by fish. She never liked her family to be insulted so of coruse she got a little hasty and beat the girl quite badly. "I used to be shy then I started switching pack so much I just got used to talking," she grinned.

Aden couldn't help but let out another quiet laugh. "You know most of the other werewolves I've talked to usually have the same or similar answer" he said with a gentle smile. It was now that his fangs made a small appearance, gleaming white as they reflected a bit of the sunlight that hit them. They were longer than normal canines and clearly sharper, although they weren't the extremely long fangs that were sometimes portrayed in Dracula movies. Once he realized though that his fangs were showing the vampire boy calmly worked on hiding them a bit.
"I'm glad then that so far I haven't said anything so far that's offensive and I promise I shall try my best to keep it that way. Though if I do say something that offends either of you you're more than welcome to let me know or simply do something like hit me upside the head. Whichever one you'd prefer" he said gently. He wondered a bit what it was like for a werewolf to switch packs. That was something he didn't hear quite as often among the other werewolves. He thought that perhaps it was a relatively difficult thing to do, at least emotionally, but he couldn't actually be sure.

Leoda nodded at Aden with a smile. She noticed his fangs, but their appearance didn't really bother her. It was not as though she felt threatened by him now. She was quite comfortable with the boy. Leo just continued to smile at him. She was happy she had come over to talk to the wolf boy. "Well, I think i'll just let you know. I'm not fond of violence when it can be prevented... that is of course if I'm threated," she chuckled. Leoda Firenze had sometimes let her tempter get to her. Not an uncommon occurance for werewolves. She then looked to Catlyn to make sure she was still ok. Then smilied seeing the girl was ok just in her own little world.

Catlyn appeared to be completely spaced, but this was just one of the things she did. It was fun to seem completely spaced out and ignoring the world, then to come forth and be able to recite nearly the whole conversation; if not the whole thing! She listened to the werewolf with a lot of interest, though none of it showed.
Aden was quite interesting too. He almost seemed as if he might actually understand the things she said. She knew all to well that things like that could be deceiving though, and didn't let her hopes rise too much.
So far things had gone much better than she could have hoped. No one had been creul to her, no one had asked about her past, and no one had said anything mean. It was quite amazing. With a deep breath, she decided to push it. She would actually try and socialize; this was something she rarely, if ever, did. "Don't worry. It's hard to offend me. I can usually tune it out most of the time." She laughed quietly, even though her reply was a little late. "I'm used to it anyway." She then turned her attention from Aden to Leoda. "Your story, it makes me somewhat sad. But I know how you feel." She sighed, a small sigh, before continuing. "You seem to have coped with it better than I have though."

Leoda looked to the woman and nodded. "It was hard at first. After moving so much I had to adjust. At first I was really quiet and wouldn't talk to anyone. I learned that I couldn't do that. As a traveler I had to open up and learn to talk to people... It's hard, but easy to adjust, " she explained to the vampire girl with a smile.

(Sorry for the short post. I appeared to have hit a writer's block at the moment. ><)
Aden let out a quiet chuckle. "Well if you ever decide to change your mind and want to smack me on the head for something I've said just remember I had offered. And that offer holds for you too Catlyn" he said with a kind smile. He was a bit relieved that he wouldn't have to worry too much about insulting either girl. Regardless though he was still going to watch what he said and did just in case. He listened quietly as the two discussed their stories somewhat. "Well hopefully neither one of you will have to worry about being alone here" he said quietly, waiting until both had finished speaking.
