"Yes I'm fine, thank you." She replied quickly, catching her balance and forcing herself not to avert her eyes. She gave a small smile, no teeth, but still a smile. It was part of her act to keep in line but it looked like a genuine shy smile. It was what she used on all of her parents dinner guests, and well, it had kind of sunk in as something to naturally do around everyone. "Don't worry about bumping me, its no trouble at all." A blush did creep up her neck though and she could feel it and was extremely thankful she had a jacket on for the cold because it covered her neck.

"You probably don't want to pick fights with people, especially since you are new here." That was an assumption on her part, but by the way he had peeled in and yelled at people already she figures that her guess was fairly accurate.

"Actually i have been going for 2 years, since i have been 15, but i could see why you might think I'm new." Did bumping into her really cause her to smile like that. "Oh how rude of me, my name is Jason Delhome. But you can just call me Jai." Jai says to the pretty girl he bumped in to extending his hand for a handshake, "I am a metal user but not in your normal sense."

"Krista Holcomb." She shook his hand, the smile not dropping from her face even as she closed her eyes briefly. The effect though was of just making her smile seem more genuine. When she opened her eyes again shoe nodded in understanding. "I wouldn't have thought two years, though the metal is easier to guess."

She gave hardly anything away in anything she had just said, only really revealing her name. When she talked it wasn't monotone, but it didn't seem filled with emotion either, not happy, not sad, just kind of neutral. Like a seashell being tossed in the waves that can't decide if it wants to float or sink to the bottom.

"Yeah i know i tend to get a little hot tempered and have been mistaken for a fire user on multiple occasions till i show them a little of what i can do with a cell phone," he then smiled at her and looked into her blue eyes. "Mind if i take a stab at your ability its a hobby of mine trying to guess what other people here can do," well shes not a metal user cause she didn't freak when she saw my car, definitely not an air or fire user shes to kind for that, maybe an ice user...no no no she doesn't have that vibe. She didn't cause my cell to freak out so not an electric user well that leaves earth and water. Her shoes are to clean to be an earth user so she is definitely a water user. "I would have to say that your a water user?" he said inquisitively.

Her mouth twisted into a startled 'o' that she couldn't hide quick enough. "Yes,that's exactly it." she replied pulling her face back into the small smile. Her blue eyes stayed on his before she decided to excuse herself, "I really need to get to the dorms to straighten up since I have been gone all break." She didn't want to be rude, for all she knew he had some connection to her parents, but she also was not interested and staying and chatting, she was far different than everyone else.

"Don't be a stranger Krista." he said to her right as she left him and he noticed that she was walking a little bit faster than before. A smile crept up on his face as he walked back to his room hopefully to find it the way he left it, completely clean and sorted. He decided to take the long way back to the dorms to see if he could run into anyone else that he might talk to.

Azure sat up and looked at the sun Man, it's burning up now... He thought to himself as he got up and started walking towards the other metal elementist, who was still tinkering with her "toy". He decided he might be nice and lend some help "You need some help?" He said the woman with the silver hair as he peered into her eyes How lovely eyes... He looked over his shoulder and saw a kid yelling and screaming at other kids, and giggled a little to himself Kids these days. He looked back at the silver-haired lady. "So?" He noticed that she and him weren't the only ones that could manipulate metal as he looked back at the 17 year old kid. His arm tingled and writhered under the metal as an indication of that simple fact.

Krista reached her dorms and immediately went to making sure her room was organized and everything was in it's place. Than she slid her locked chest underneath the bed. I wonder if I will have a room mate this time? She looked around and took note that everything was actually right and than opened the window to let in the cool air. Being to hot or to cold was not fun, and since it was cool outside the heat was on even if very low inside the buildings.

She went to her desk where she had a mirror set up and she let down her hair and began to brush it out. Her mind wandered to the boy that had run into her. He seemed so rude until he came and talked to me.What if I run into him tomorrow? Or during classes. Oh i hope he doesn't recognize me, I hate meeting new people, they expect so much from you. Her eyes lowered, and for a brief moment she thought about trying to be different, but ... my parents will get so mad at me if i do that. She let out an audible sigh. I can't change my ways ever, I will be punished and ruin their career.

Briefly she ran a finger over her upper arm, picturing the scar that was below it. I think I will head to the lake.
She pulled her hair up quickly with a ribbon and grabbed her jacket moving to the door, she loved the lake, and now that it was on her head she wanted to go there fast.

At that moment, a very weird idea came up in his head as he waited on the girl's response "Hey, do you like walking?!" He grinned underneath his mask as he waited for the answer. Solemnly his hand reached and touched on the mask where many scars had been created through a horrible accident If only it didn't happen... I wish I could take this disguise off... A flashback occured, he was sitting in his room, minding his own business when he noticed that there was a piece of metal sticking on his arm, and he thought "Oh maybe I could make something really cool!" He took a book and began reading the worst page in the entire book "Surgery for metal elementists" He began to draw his blood until he realized that he was taking too much, in fact his arm was about to fall off. Screaming in agony, he took a large piece of metal and welded it to his arm, which seemed to feel better after 12 minutes of keeping his arm from falling off. During that time, some of the metal had retracted and hit him in the face, horribly scarring his face to the point where he took his father's most prized mask, which was Azure's favorite one. Another flash back occured, he was walking past his father till he noticed that he had his mask, "What the hell!" his father said as he snatched it away from his face, revealing his injuries. He gasped and broke down, handing him the mask back, telling him never to take it off again. Azure suddenly snapped out of it and ran off to a place where he could think by himself. Maybe the lake would be nice...

Krista reached the lake and slid her shoes off. She was wearing her 'school uniform' still, a blue skirt and a white blouse, but she had not worn any socks that day because she knew she was going back to what she now considered home. They were for the most part nice to her here. She stepped gingerly into the water letting it lap at her bare skin, the cool breeze around her ruffled her dress reminding her about it.

For that brief moment she was back in reality as she tied the dress up so that it wouldn't get wet, than she was back to bliss. She untied the ribbon letting it fall as a slight rain had started and she wanted to feel it everywhere, she hadn't been this free in so long. Lifting her face to the sky she smiled her hair swirled in the breeze and rain trickled down her face. It was slow but she couldn't help pulling some towards her on accident. Krista did not have very much control over her powers yet.

She twirled a little bit and than wrapped her arms around herself (good reference would be the sound of music.) happy. Closing her eyes she immersed herself in the pitter-patter of rain on the surface of the lake. As she listened she moved deeper in until she was about knee height, at this point it wouldn't of mattered if she hadn't tied the skirt up. It was wet now.

Azure had finally made it to the lake, when a nymph looking woman was standing in it, about knee deep in the water. He looked at her with some distaste, his father had always told him that water people were cheaters and liers, but he couldn't resist the urge to talk to her, so he decided to walk over the the opposite side of the lake and sit down beside a tree while sighing loudly, not realizing that he could be called so many things for even being over here. What if father is right? What if she'll try drowning me? Obviously she wants to be alone... Azure had never been too fond of people since he was always laughed at and pushed around, and had a bad feeling that this might be really bad to try to make friends, not even aqquaintances. He got up and walked slowly towards to the woods, deciding to let some anger out, his father was always abusive. His arm quivered and shook as some of the metal melted off his arm and wrist and flowed down to his palm, where a large scythe took form. My childhood was always filled with disaster, so where will I strike next?! He stopped for a moment and spun around, and the area where his hand had held the scythe at the middle of the grips, was now at the end, while a tree was cut. Bah, 6 inches isn't good enough... He tossed the scythe in the the air and for a moment he could feel eyes on his back as he held his hand in the air waiting for the handle, and suddenly a tree fell down. Much better. He thought as he grinned widely under his mask, his hair wild, and his clothes all wrinkled. The scythe suddenly melted out of his palm and flowed back to his arm, where it shaped itself to the skin, and stayed there, as if nothing had happened. He went off sitting on the now cut down tree, staring at the water woman. I wish I could understand what it is like to be in your own element...

Krista started at the sound of the tree falling and she spun scrambling for her ribbon to tie back her hair when she saw this mask wearing boy with a metal arm watching her and a blush crept up her neck and into her cheeks. She had issues getting caught in the water because it had been impounded into her that it was a horrible thing. Her parents didn't even realize she had powers, just that she got weird around water and people got wet when they startled her near water.

The water splashed to the surface and she jumped again not having realized that some water had begun twisting up her legs trying to become familiar with her. She looked around quickly and ran towards the beach splashing a bit as she did so. Oh no, where did i leave my shoes! The blush darkened. what if he's a spy for my parents, oh I'm in trouble.

Azure looked strangely at the nymph as she quickly spun around and ran away. He suddenly gasped and jumped off the tree, about to apologize for bothering her, and ran over to where she was. "Hey! Wait! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to bother you!" He yelled aloud at the girl as she was running through the lake, and noticed that the water was going up her legs. He stopped for a second and sat down, saddened as he just thought that he had scared someone. "Please... don't... ah what's the use..." he mumbled under his breath as he glanced at the ground, and quivered at the thought of being alone forever.

She grabbed her shoes and held them to her chest while turning to face him.Didn't mean to bother me, does that mean... it's not my parents. her face was crimson as she looked at him and she tried to get the hair out of her eyes with one hand and dropped one of the shoes. "I'm sorry.. I ..uh... you didn't. I just didn't know that anyone was around. " She stuttered and fell silent, realizing that she had to embarrass herself even more in a moment. "I thought that you were someone else." She stumbled trying to find the right words and pull herself together. Dignified...elegant... silent. She gulped.

He looked up at her, as if somehow his wishes were tempting him. "Really?! I mean, I'll go away if you don't want me around... I just wanted to get a breath of fresh air." He glanced at the ground fidgeting with his ring that his father had given him, which basically yelled "I'm rich!" It was platinum with silver twisting thorns around them, with an upside down looking cross in the middle. In the cross it had a colorful spectrum of gems, and the blue seemed to shine even brighter than the others. He noticed the shining gem and quickly shoved his hand into his pocket thinking that if she knew that he was rich, she'd try to make fun of him. "So, um, hi?" My dear god, that sounded so dumb... I knew I should've kept quiet...

"umm. hi." She rocked on her heels awkwardly than bent to pick up her other shoe that she had dropped. She had seen the ring and her mind was drawing a blank because of the water being so close so she took that as something to talk about. "That was a pretty blue, what was it?" The silence was to awkward, she was used to picking out random things to make pointless rich talk about, but the water. It was so close, all she had to do was reach out just a little bit, it was right there.

"Huh?! Oh you mean this? Ummm, yeah, my dad, erm, my foster dad, gave this to me. He told me it went great with my moods. Haha." Why am I laughing?! He took his hand out of his pocket and started staring at it, gazing at the massively bright blue. He noticed that she was reaching for her leg, and blushed a little and pretended that something else was happening. "Hmmm, so I'm guessing you are a water elementist?" He looked back intentively "What is it like to be able to control water?!" His breathing stopped, and stood there silently, feeling a bit awkward, but not too badly. Thank god for not letting people see my face...

"Really, what does the blue mean? I've never understood mood rings?" She sat down next to him her hand having gone absently to the water that was still on her leg. She set the shoes back down in the sand and then remembered her hair and her blush darkened again, it had been fading. darn it! She barely noticed that her hands were wet as she started to twist her hair back into a bun and tie it up. I probably could have left it down, he's already caught me. She nodded at the question. "Yeah i am, and i love the rain." This last part she kind of trailed off as she had realized it had started to rain a bit harder. What she said next was almost silent as she seemed to step into bliss again, "I really do." Her eyes closed happily as the water continued to trickle to her sky-raised face. Snapping back to reality her eyes got wide and she put her hands to her mouth. "Oh I'm so sorry, I try not to do that around people."

"Haha, it's alright." He grinned, almost losing balance. "It's been a long time since I've actually laughed." He touched his mask and rubbed the check part of it. If only I could actually show my smile... He quickly snapped out of it and started to speak "My foster parents were always the kind to keep me locked away. I'm just not used to a smile." He rubbed his arm with the metal around it. "Hey, do you want a gift?" He asked as he felt little droplets of rain on his head, which instinctively made him pull his arms above his head and swat the sky. "Ah! Hahaha!" Why do I feel so happy?! He looked at Krista for a moment then said in a velvety voice "Oh, blue means calm beauty by the way. I've always thought of the beach whenever I see the blue." He gazed into the lake, almost entranced by the water and the calm feeling around him.

"That's how i feel when I'm near any water! Are you water element to?" She found that thought incredibly exciting since she hadn't made any friend yet really. Than she realized he was covering his head. oh...

smile? She realized she was smiling and thought briefly that she needed to cover it, again already realizing she'd been caught and she dismissed it. "Did... did they keep you locked up because of the mask?" That's probably a bad thing to ask. She realized to late with a little grimace, she changed the subject back. "Sure, what kind of gift." Her mind wandered back to her bed, and the locked case underneath it. i'll probably have to keep it underneath there....

"Hm? Oh this?" He asked tapping the forehead of the mask. "Nah, it's not that, this is just a piece of some memories that shouldn't be shown, bad memories, but I enjoy that you are the first to ask. My parents never really had the time for me, they were always too busy doing this or that." He looked at Krista as she evaluated and continued to smile, until she grimaced. "Ah, no, I'm not water. But I'll let you guess, and besides, this gift is special, you could say it is from the heart." He laughed a little while turning around so she couldn't see him drawing metal off of his arm and into his palm into a necklace, one that was woven with perfection and the ornament on it was like a heart, with one angelic wing on the left side, and and a demonic wing on the other. It had been his only creation that he had ever liked. "Here, does this work?" He said as he handed his creation to her. I don't think she'll like it... "Um, if you don't want it, I can just go change the ornament." He layed down and stared at the sun thinking that today was great, maybe the best day he has ever had. "Do you like it?"

Jaz started, blinking rapidly. "Did someone just talk to me?" she mumbled to herself, glancing around. She could have sworn the boy wearing a mask appeared, but he was gone already. She had a horrible habit of ignoring the world around her when she was working. Patting her "retriever," the silver-haired girl sighed. "It's time to get you back to the dorm, Spot."
Nodding to the girl she had been talking to, she gathered the contraption in her arms lovingly, the metal shifting to lean against her hip comfortably. "I'll see you around, Lestella." She grinned, the ring in her lip shining in the sun . . . just like the ring in her eyebrow, and the stud in her nose, and the multiple rings on both of her ears. In fact, the girl herself seemed to be a reflective individual - very . . . silver.
Heading to the girl's dorm, she glanced over to see yet another new student (this would be Jason. :)). She nodded, giving him a smile - he seemed like a nice guy . . . Oh, what am I thinking? I've never even met him. Sighing, Jaz mumbled as much under her breath before glancing around. Carefully setting her metal "Retriever" on the floor, she moved to poke Jason's shoulder.
"You lost . . . sir?" For once, she didn't have a pet name.

Krista took the necklace into her hand like a gem. "It's beautiful." She was fascinated by it, "Where did you get it, why would you give something this beautiful away for free just like that?" Her questions just came out without thinking, she didn't mean to lose control over her formalness, but that was something that water did to her. change the ornament? Oh!

She gave a startled little noise, "You're metal than!" She turned the little necklace over and over looking at the craftsmanship and did something she had never done before, she unclasped it and tried to attach it around her neck, blushing when she struggled with it.

"Haha, yup. Good guess. Here lemme help you with that." A tiny bit of metal flowed off of his arm and splashed onto the necklace chain, making it a better fit for Krista. "Did that help?" He grabbed his arm as it started to quiver violently, while making a grunting noise in pain. "Ow, ow, ow... OUCH! Okay, I think I'm better now." He giggled a little at the pain. Why in the world am I giggling?! This is seriously strange, but somehow I like it. "So how has your day been so far?" He said as he laid his arms back under his head. That is how you start a conversation, right? RIGHT?! Ugh, I'm just too weird...

"Yeah." She blushed and let the necklace fall down onto her chest, it stood out nicely against the white shirt. "I... i don't mean to be rude." She blushed deeper at her own words. "But are you okay? i didn't mean to make you hurt yourself over a gift.." her words trailed off. I want to tell him that lots of parents are like that, but i don't know if it would be a good idea. She thought, her mind contemplating her parents political situation. "I suppose my day has been good, my butl-" She gulped realizing what she had almost said. No one likes a rich kid. "My father dropped me off this morning, it's been a slow day. nothing special." When she said that she looked at him and realized that she didn't mean that. She had made a new friend, granted it was one she didn't even know the name of yet, but that alone was something special. I don't want to tell him that he's my first friend. That would make me look like a horrible person...
