By the time he was done talking, Fable was sitting up. Listening with such intent. When he showed her the scar, Fable could not help but think about how bad it had been. Rouge was an amazing medic. A scar as bad as that must have been way worse when first made. When he finished, she nodded immensely right away. His secret was best kept with her. Fable might have been an intel gatherer. But even she never told everything. "Do not worry. Your secret is safe with me." She said giving him a smile, sinking back down in the bed. |
Rouge smiled reasured and looked at Fable. "Yes... And if you don't know poisons very well don't pick a fight with him... His little girlfriend poisoned me about five different times... She's a piece of work..." he said hate flashing in his usually gentle eyes. "What about you miss Fable? Any dark past? Hopefully not as painful as mine." he said smiling again.

"Nothing you need not concern yourself with Darling" Fable said just shaking her head. Not really wanting to talk at first. Her biography in school was only half right. She was a trouble maker in school. But that was only to get out of not going home on more days. She then decided to change the subject suddenly. "About me taking some time off. What do you think I should do?" |
Rouge let her subject change slide. He didn't want to push her if she didn't wan to talk. "Well... I sneak out of school and just... Hang out... Grab some pizza... You know..." he said shrugging and his eyes gleamed. He loved it when she had called him darling and it was hard to sustain his joy. "It makes me feel normal... And reminds me I'm not invinciple..." he said and settled his chin on his arms again.

"pizza.." Fable repeated. She seemed to be thinking a bit to herself. She then laughed a bit at herself. "Sounds like a date" Fable told him rolling back onto her side, bringing her legs up to her chest. She laid comfortably while waiting for some sort of reaction from him. |
Rouge smiled clearing his shock up right away. He had to remind himself that she wasn't exactly thinking like he was and she could still be a bit high on the oxygen. "Its a date." he said smiling and looked at her his eyes softening. "Now I'm pretty sure you should get some sleep... I'll keep guard..." he said getting up and carried his chair to put it back. The scar on his back catch the light slightly but it was obvious it was still the same scar from his side... But it just kept travelig up his back all the way to the opposite shoulder.

Fable stretched a bit, watching him as he moved. His body was very scared up from past battles. It added much character to him, but also boosted his mystery. Fable felt very safe with him in the room. Though she was a light sleeper already. Trained to be ready for anything. "Good Night Rouge." Fable said to him before drifting off into a sleep. For some reason, Fable had a dream of Rouge. It had him and Venom in a room, with him being cut by Venom. The scene scared her, but yet, it would not stop. The dream switched half way though. It was one of a dark man, straddling her. Screaming at her with other voices in the background. On the outside, Fable seemed to be sleeping peacefully. Every now and then she would shift in her sleep. |
Rouge watched Fable sleep and checked the hall now and again. He then looked at her and seeing her shift he came closer. He looked at her and studied her face as she shifted again. She didn't look as peaceful as she snood and he had a feeling she didn't usually move in her sleep. He gently shook her softly and cupped her cheek. "Fable... Fable... Wake up..." he said softly.

Fable's eyes shot open, adjusting to the light too fast. Rouge was above her, cupping her face. She leaned up immediately, thinking the worse. Comepletely shoving her nightmare aside as always. "What is going on?!" She asked confused. "What happened? Is everyone okay?!" Fable asked over and over, stopping when Rouge did not answer her right away. She realized she was asking too many things at once. |
Rouge smiled and pushed her back down gently. "Relax... Nothing has happened... I just thought you were having a nightmare." he said caringly. He looked at her smiling and something stronger then care flashed in his bright silver eyes but quickly dissappeared. "I hope I didn't wake you during a nice dream..." he whispered and checked her tubes trying to ignore the fact that their faces had been iches apart.

"oh" She said relaxing again. Her heart had sped up a bit in the commotion. The line on the monitor seemed to dance as she looked up at him. They had been only inches away seconds ago. he went back to checking her. making sure everything was alright. Fable rolled on her side away from him. A little embarrassed. "I was having a nightmare... well a few actually" The spy said honestly. Closing her eyes. The second part was in fact her dark secret. One she felt very responsible for. |
Rougelooked at her happy he had woke her. "Would you like to tell me? I found it better to talk about them afterhaving them... They seemed to leave me after I did..." he offered and grabbed the chair from the corner of the room and sat down in it after putting it next to her bed. He felt slightly worried because she had turned away. He hoped he had done nothing wrong. "Fable? Did I do somthing wrong?" he asked quietly.

"No you did nothing Rouge" Fable said honestly, glancing at him for a second. After a bit of silence she looked back at him. "It's my father... When my mother left, he pretty much ignored my brother and I..." She said as her eyes shifted. Showing her true self for once. Instead of a barrier that she used quite often for work. "That was until one day, he came home and mistook me for my mother.." She paused looking down, allowing her chocolate hair to cover her eyes, "he hurt me. Calling me a home wrecker.." |
Rouge's eyes softened and without thinking he pulled her into his arms and hugged her softly. He kisse the top of her head and stroked her soft hair gently. "Im sorry..." he whispered understanding what she ment. He instantly hated the man. If he ever saw that man he would personally hurt him, physically and mentally. "Ill protect you Fable... I promise you that..." he said softly his grip on her tightening slightly.

Fable reacted by gripping his arm. A small tear rolled down her face. Just one though. She pulled him closet to her. Feeling his warmth against her own. It soothed her more than anything. Even her violin. "I have not spoken to him nor my brother in years." She burred her head a bit into his arm as his grip tightened. She had honestly just lied to him, hoping to lighten his mood. Just last week Fable received a letter from her family. One of which she disposed of right away. "Rouge.." She spoke softly, "Thank you... It means so much to me" |
Rouge smiled and looked into her eyes. "Its nothing... And I will always be here... Even if you can see me..." he whispered and realized how close they were again. He didn't pull away but was intranced by her. Without thinking he reached out and stroked her cheek gently. He smiled his eyes holding all the care in the world.

Fable's eyes started to droop again, but she smiled at him. He knew just what to say, and seemed to hand pick every word with a care and grace that was so foreign in these days. Fable tightened her grip on him before laying back, still in his arms. "I never told any body that" She said softly. "I'm sorry." |
Rouge smiled and looked at her. "Dont be sorry.... You have done nothing wrong..." he said and loved hoe cute she looked. Even half tired and half asleep she was still beautiful. "Now get some sleep.... And I'm going to stay right here to fight off those nightmares." he said softly and his eyes gleamed slightly. "Now get some sleep." he whispered and kissed her forehead softly.

She nodded and moved over a bit. Allowing him some more room to lay next to her if he please. But also enough so he could come and go. The bar to her bed on her side was up already, so there was no chance of her falling off, even with the larger man next to her. "Alright Darling" Fable liked this, the whole thing. Although she knew it would have to be a secret. From everyone. But hey? That was part of the fun. she rubbed part of the scar on his side. Hoping it would make him feel a bit better too. Fable fell asleep after a bit. This time dreaming of nothing. |
Rouge smiled and layed next to Fable. Her soft touch upon his side felt like heaven. He watched her fall asleep and smiled warmly. He stroked her cheek softly and layed by her side. He felt extremely relaxed and her touch sent thrills threw his body. He began letting his mind wonder and couldn't help but kiss her head again. Was this love?
