Madison Academy for the Gifted - Now Open

Dear Student,

You have been chosen to attend Madison Academy for the Gifted. We at the Academy have been made aware of your ability and are inviting you here to hone it, as well as to learn in a safe and friendly environment and to make new friends. Now that you have received this letter, you will have no choice but to attend the Academy. Not doing so will result in legal infractions.

You receive this letter in the mail, and some strange force compells you to pack your things and board a flight to the Academy. You're not sure how they found out about your power, or how life will be like at the Academy, but you know one thing for sure: There is something strange about Madison Academy for the Gifted...

Biography: Harlo's parents didn't care. They were drunk all the time, and Harlo was the result of an accident. when Harlo was four they got into drugs, selling her to people for weeks as a slave to pay for them. One day, they sold Harlo to a scientist who fused her DNA with that of a snake's. Harlo thinks she has no place in this world and hates her parents, who recently died. She had been living on the streets since she was 12 when she found the letter adressed to her in a dumpster, as well as plane tickets to the academy.

Biography: Rin had neglectful parents as a child, who worked almost 24/7 and were never home for the holidays. This made it very easy for Rin to conceal his ability. Rin accelled in school, particularly in art but his abilities began to act up. He found the academy and decided immediately to transfer, feeling he is a danger to himself and others. Rin's art has been featured in many gallleries, including the infamous Grange. The reason it is infamous is because a mysterious fire burned it down, right in the middle of a show Rin was being featured in. Rin was in the bathroom, stressing out as it was his first show, which caused his powers to act up. Thankfully, nobody died, but Rin has a wicked scar on his right palm to show for it.

Power(s): Visions which are not always good because she comes out of them usually hurt. When she does have a vision she usually looks like she is zoning out. She learned to fly when she was a child after an older kid tried to push her off of her school building. When she fell she was more like floating but learned within time. She found out she could control electricity when her mom was having a nervous breakdown on her 3rd birthday and it was storming pretty bad out side. She still lives with her father since her mother she accidently killed when she was only 3 after learning about she could catch the lighting. But she has a good home only thing is there is a terrible secret about her. (You'll learn later on)

Biography: Keiichiro is an orphan, and he has been for a really long time, since he can remember. Always moving from foster family to foster family made him resent people in general. Once they got bored of him he would be kicked out and would have to move on, he never understood that as a child. As he got older he understood it as the cruelty of the world. And so he turned to art and literature, the visual and the vocal, anything to let out all the emotions that he normally kept pent up within himself. He made a name in music for himself, under an alias though of course. In the midst of recording one day he found a letter addressed to him, the real him and not 'Angel', the stage name he had chosen. He had picked it up, and then upon opening it decided to give the school a shot, it would be a good time to get some explanations as to why the wind always seemed to surround him in a protective boundary.
Photo or Description: Stands at 6' 3". Keiichiro has layered shoulder length snowy white hair. His eyes a clear vibrant purple color. He has a lean body and isn't one of those really muscular looking people, his is more lean muscle if any. Oh his back is a tattoo pf a pair of wings with a cross in the middle.
Other:Keiichiro likes dressing in a punk/visual style on regular days, for stages though he chooses simpler styles.

Power(s): Luthien can move himself through any shadow at will, as well as hide inside them or make any room he's in completely dark. When inside a room or hallway, as long as it's not amazingly large, he can make it so dark you can't see your hand in front of your face. The male is able to completely block out any and all light, apart from fire, but even when created, the fire seems compressed and wont light up as much as it might have otherwise. The male, when moving through Shadows, has to have a general idea of the location of where he wants to come out of, and doesn't always manage to get quite where he wants to go. Traveling to a shadow that he can see before he steps into one is easier, and has less chances of being screed up. If he stands beside/inside a shadow, the male can pretty much disappear, yet still see and be aware of what's going on around him.

Likes: Neon colours, when it's dark outside, reading, eating ice cream, taking walks, and pretty much doing just about anything.
Dislikes: Really bright and hot days, strobe lights, people complaining about things they shouldn't, being stuck in a large group of people and not being able to get out, and most forms of violence.
Biography: Luthien hails from a very rich family who has pretty much given him whatever he wanted since a young age. While the male would have preferred the attention of his parents every now and then - specifically when he found out he had powers, in his second piano performance in a school musical ( after which he walked home, alone, as his parents had done a very good job of forgetting about him ). The male knows he's lucky for coming from the family that he does and pretty much being spoiled his entire life. Coming to Madison Academy was one of the few things that the male has ever asked for, and since only coming tot he academy within in the last year, the male is hoping to make friends that are more or less unbiased towards him/his background, unlike many others were in his past schools.

Biography: She has only one parent her father, which is more busy with work that noticing what Kuro is up to. It's true that her father makes a good amount of money and uses that to keep Kuro from complaining. However, Kuro is still upset about her mother's death three years ago. She sees her father as generally evil and wants nothing more than to leave her house. She also wants a friend who she can confide in when she needs to. However, she has made a mental barrier and acts very selfishly and rude to people.

She has a heart-shaped face with long black hair. Her eyes are different colors one is misty blue while the other is a dark green. Her nose is small, yet she has full lips which are striking against her skin. Her skin is pale and she is slender and looks delicate.
Other: She has an odd connection to birds and keeps a yellow canary as a pet. She also has another talent for the violin.

Biography: Genie was born in a small middle class family in Venezuela. Her life was average; she went to a large high school and was very popular. But that was before her father got into the business of drug trafficking. Her world was shattered once he was caught and sentenced to 40 years in prison. In hopes to start over, Genie's mother immigrated to the US with her daughter, Genie, and her two sons, Kent and Matt. As they move into their new apartment, Genie walks around inside, exploring her new area when she finds a small ornately designed letter addressed to her lying on her bedside table. -Genie's personality is VERY loopy, sometimes her family tease that she's a bit bipolar.-

Biography: Jeffrey was a rather normal kid until about middle school. His power of athletics manifested itself when he was in seventh grade, along with an irresistable compulsion for strenuous activity. He failed a lot of his classes due to skipping often to go run laps or lift weights. His precognition dreams started happening at this age, mainly about mundane things such as doing well on a test or a snow-day. As time went on, Jeffrey learned to keep himself under control when the urge to exercise hit in an inappropriate situation, though he finds it most difficult to do anything else when the compulsion hits.
In Grade 9, Jeffrey discovered an innate talent for singing one day as he was going along with his music - he was able to serenade even teachers with his singing, if he tried hard enough. In this grade, Jeffrey started using his physical abilities well - joining local sports teams and running track. He dominated in these areas - his record for the mile run was two minutes, thirty-five seconds. But his family life steadily deteriorated as he grew more confident and reckless in his abilities. The peak of his conflict with his family was nearly killing his father after his father threatened to disown him - which he promptly did. With no home, Jeffrey crashed at various friends' places for about a third of a year. As he was about to begin his sophomore year, he recieved an invitation to the Madison Academy, and the rest is history.

Biography: Lan was an orphan from the start of his life. He never like being around too many people because they always seemed to be crusades against him. This was proven when he was 4 years old people would tease him, make him drop his food and tell him to eat it, and sometimes they would hold him down on the mattress just to beat him with anything that they could grab. After 9 years of this torment, he had enough of the beatings and began to devise a plan on what he would do to them, but once he started to put his plan into action, he began to overload somehow. He fled the orphanage, running to a small abandoned pier and the energy inside him forcefully released itself. He stayed alone from that point on until he could control it. Months went by after he finally gained the control he needed over his talents and he began to steal food to survive, which caused him to occasionally run into the authorities. One day, he received a letter from a school called Madison Academy, but he never heard of it. So he read the letter over and over, debating on whether or not he should go to the school, which he did in fact.

Rin Pattersyn did not like cold weather. It was a brisk day and the only thing that was on his mind was the roar of his motorbike and the haunting fear of the cold. He zipped around corners on the jet-black Ducati until he finally reached the academy. Within a few seconds he was in teh student parking lot, where he carefully put his bike in a corner lot, a few stalls away from any other vehicles. Dismounting his bike, Rin patted it and proceeded to remove his helmet. His luscious teal hair fell over his shoulders like a waterfall, catching in the wind. He smelled musky as she zipped up his dark leather jacket and bent over to get his books out of his saddlebags.

Harlo Valentine sighed, gazing out her dormitory window. It was going to be another stupid day, but at least she was out of the streets. She shuddered as a cold breeze tickled her face and slammed the window shut. with anotehr deep breath she turned on her heels... and fell to the floor. She dissapeared, replaced by a lime green snake that seemed to be medium in size, however it was not classified as any one species. With a hiss Harlo slithered under her dormitory door and down the hall.

Keiichiro walked down the halls of the school, books carried under his right arm. He was listening to music as he walked, a sad melody could be faintly heard, emitting from the headphones atop his head. His converses produced a soft sound with each step and it echoed down the hall. The halls were still pretty empty, considering it was still early. Keiichiro liked it better that way, nobody to talk to, nobody to bother him. Just the silence. The tailcoat vest he wore swished lightly behind him and the chains adorning his outfit clinked together in harmony with the swishing and the echoes of his step. Eventually he reached his destination and knocked lightly on the door before pulling it open to see that it was empty. He moved through the room and placed his books on a desk in the back of the classroom and closest to the windows.

Diana looked at the school and her lip curled, "I'd rather stay in my padded room" she said with something close to a growl. Her father gave her a look that silenced her. She brushed at her black skirt wishing she could put some chains on it but her parents would only hate her more. Once she got to the door her parents left without a word. Her eyes darkened with sadness for a moment before she wandered in. She stopped at a desk to get her schedule and her dorm number. She thanked the woman and started down the hallway, One, two, three, four.....five! here we go she thought and opened the door with her key. She gasped innerly at the room, "Ohkay no padded room" she said to herself. she ran over to one of the beds and set her suitcase on top of it. She undid the zipper and started taking out her clothes and refolding them. She glanced at the second bed and wondered who her roomate was.

Rin jogged up the stairs, his sneakers softly echoing in the empty staircase. What was his dorm number again? Five? He hoped he wasn't walking in the wrong dorm. He rapped loudly with the back of his knuckles before turning the knob and flinging the door open. His eyes widened when he saw a girl, ad beautiful one at that, standing in the middle of the room. "Oh! I w-was not aware that t-t-this was a co-ed dormitory!" He said in a shocked tone.

The sudden outburst from someone else in the room made Diana jump and turn around, "I didnt either" she said in a clear bell-like voice. a blush set on her face when she looked at her clothes, her underwear was on the top she turned and sat down on top of them. "Im Diana and it looks like were roomates" she said in a quiet voice looking at him. He was cute that was for sure.

Rin sighed, relieved for some reason. "It's very nice to meet you, Diana. My name is Rin." He smiled happily. "So you're taking that bed? I'll just take the one by the window then..." He closed the door behind him and tossed him duffel bag onto the bed.

"Nice to meet you also rin" she said. she turned and picked up the clothes and put them back in the suitcase zipping it up she shoved the case under the bed. Smiling she looked at rin, "So where are you from?" she asked trying to make small talk. She ran a hand through her blonde pigtails then moved upward and tightened the deep purple bows, this entire time she was making a special effort not to set anything on fire.

Rin began to unpack his things. "I'm from, you know, around here, I guess," he said anxiously, pulling a foldable easel out of his bag. He set it up, looking at Diana. "You?" His hands began to glow subconsciously, as they did whenever he was excited. He shook then out as he began to unpack his clothes and put them away into the wardrobe.

"Around" she said sort of distantly, she noticed his hands glow, "Why did your hands glow?" she asked him. She felt like she was being nosy and she hoped he wouldnt get angered at her. She pushed her bangs out of her face and her pink eyes widened, she looked for something and spotted some candles set up on the dresser by her bed she turned her back to him and pretended to be lighting the candles with a lighter. She touched each of the candles wicks setting them aflame and she sighed with relief when the heat from her hands went down.

"Oh." Rin shrugged. "It's just a side effect of my power, I guess. Speaking of which, what's your power? You don't have to tell me I gues sbut I'm just curious and..." He shut his mouth, and blushed. He didn't ramble often. He turned around so Diana wouldn't see his face.

"Fire" she said snapping making a small spark. "What exactly is your power?" she asked him stepping somewhat closer to him. She giggled when he blushed and turned around.

Rin extended his arms, and a steady stream of teal electricity ran between his hands. "Electricity," He said with a grin, quickly bringing his hands together with a clap. Teal spraks rained from the ceiling.

Dianas eyes widened as she watched the teal sparks rain down. "Thats cool!" she laughed, she made a small fire ball rest in the middle of her palm and she made it form itself into a glowing red and orange butterfly, it moved its wings and flew around rin and landed on her palm again. She blew on it and it disappeared. Looking up she grinned at Rin.

Rin smiled. "That was beautiful." Raising his arms in the air, he controlled the electricity to spell out 'Diana' in mid-air before it morphed to a ball of electricity. Rin tossed it up in the air, and quickly formed another two so that he was juggling. Then he caught all three and 'ate' them. "Ta-da!"

Diana giggled clapping her hands, "that was awesome" she wanted to do the streamer trick she taught herself but she would only set the room on fire. She settled on making the fire into an eagle it flew around the room and then stopped, a few feathers fell from it and made 'rin' in mid air before disappearing in little embers that went out before hitting the ground. The eagle flew and landed on her arm melting into a snake that wrapped itself around her arm. She grinned at Rin again and the snake disappeared.

Rin smiled. "That's cool. I think I saw a shapeshifter girl do that just before I came into the school," he remarked.

She laughed, "Well then i guess im not as original as i thought" she sighed. "i was gonna do something with streamers on fire but that wouldnt.....end well" she said with a chuckle.

Kuro hated the cold and wanted nothing more than to find some place warm. Additionally, the size of the school wasn't very appeasing to her. All it meant was more freezing time. She made her way to the dorms and hoped they would at least be an improvement from outside. She walked up the stairs and passed the rooms one by one. As she passed room number five she heard sounds from the inside. (I guess I'm not alone.) She thought to herself. Deciding it wasn't any of her concern she continued to her dorm, number 7. (Empty. Not surprising. Well, at least it's warmer than outside.)

Vane walked around outside in her big fluffy winter coat with brown and white fur along the hood. She had her black warm gloves on and in her pockets as her black scarf moved a little in the wind. She had on jeans and some snow boots with brown and white fur to match her coat. She was just wondering around to see if she could find anything like secrets about the school until some kids ran by her throwing her off balance in an almost frozen lake and she made a splash going under which she thought 'ah cold-damn brats'

"Uhm.." Rin flashed back to the art gallery. "I've had my mishaps as well." He blushed, unpacking his things silently with his back turned to Diana.

Harlo slithered through the grass towards the lake.
