hephaestus hadn't been to the market in what seemed ages. he looked around at the now dust covered stalls and shops along the street. his attention drew back to aphrodite "no clue" he said gazing at her then he quickly looked away. "i havent been here in awhile, but where would you like to go?" he asked her. then he remembered the girdle and realized that it had enough power to attract even gods and thought maybe she wore it to attract me? and looked at her again.

Apollo touched the ground gently, his feet making contact with the soft grass almost soundlessly. The sun was risen, his sister having done her duty of letting the night sleep. It was his duty to bring warmth and light to the world. He would not fail. He could only imagine the shame and humiliating the gods would put him thought if he did...
The humans were gone and everything was silent. Apollo stared at an empty nearby farm and let out a quiet sigh. How lonely it was, not having anyone to talk to. Often he wondered how Artemis, his dear little sister (or was he younger? They never did settle that argument) was doing. He hadn't seen her in many days. A wind picked up and Apollo turned towards the source. Hermes was doing his job right. What would Earth do without the gods? Suffer, and be taken over by eternal darkness, of course. The humans wouldn't survive. They were suffering already though. What difference did it make? Apollo shook his head and stretched his arms. "Don't think too hard. You'll start getting wrinkles. Then you'll be in trouble with Aphrodite!" He knew better than that. Gods didn't age. They could take any form they wanted. Wrinkles were the least of his worries when the sun was his main job. His strides long, with a bit of a hop, he made his cheerful way down the hill and towards the market. Nobody was there, as the stands had been abandoned long ago, but it gave him comfort that people used to mill around the dirt roads, busy and laughing, joyful during their lives. Through the streets, Apollo turned a corner and paused in his step. Standing off together were two familiar faces. Two faces out of a dozen he would ever see in Greece. "Hey, Hephaestus! 'Dite!" Apollo waved gleefully and skipped over to the couple. |
Aphrodite flashed her beautiful smile a bit and looked around. "Would you like to go see if there are any decent clothes left?" she asked as she raised an eyebrow. She walked to the clothes marketplace and found an adorable red dress she liked, and walked in the dressing room. She came back with the dress on, adding a black mini-jacket over it. "What do you think?" she asked.

hephaestus was stunned when she came out of the dressing room. the clothes she tried on were absolutly stunning on her. is this me or the girdle making me think this he thought and said " beautiful" and he suddenly realized he should have said somthing different. he accidentally spoke his mind and was overcome with a slight blush which he tried his best to hide.

"Oh and what have we here," Hera said as she stepped out from behind a tree. She looked at Zeus and Artemis with a curious expression on her face. "If it isn't my loving husband," she said as eyes got hawk like looking at Zeus. She then turned her gaze on to Artemis. "And my lovely step-daughter," she said to Artemis as she stepped closer to them. "What a nice surprise," she said as she stopped a couple of feet away from them.

Aphrodite giggled a little bit and swayed back and forth a few times in front of the mirror. She let her hair out of the ponytail and brushed it out in front of her chest. She smiled and looked over at him. "Wanna go get some food?" she asked.

Apollo clicked his tongue as the couple ignored him and wandered into a clothing store. "Nice to see you to. Always glad to be brushed off... It's cool. I'm cool. We're all cool," he muttered the last part bitterly. No use thinking bad about things, although he always did dislike Aphrodite's vanity.
Turning, he wandered off back down the street. Maybe he would see Artemis somewhere. It'd be nice to chat with his sister after so long of them not speaking. Or maybe Poseidon was up. Doing a 360 degree turn, Apollo made his merry way down to the ocean. Poseidon had better be awake. If not, Apollo would make him get up. Old Seaweed Brain was always a late sleeper. |
"uh...sure" hephaestus said still a little stunned at her beuty. he never did get why they broke up, but that was all in the past. " what type of food did you have in mind?" he asked her still admiring her beuty. that girdle is really doing the trick, or is this all me? he thought as he stood up.

Aphrodite looked around. "That new Chinese place sounds nice." she said, smiling politely. She started walking, only then did she noticed she walked in a perfectly straight line. She laughed at herself a little bit and walked in the restaurant. She sat down at a table and looked at the menu, peeking over every once and a while at him.

hephaestus looked at the menu and noticed her peeking over at him, and remembered something. "um... so whos gonna cook the food? there aren't any humans left" he said with a little sadness that if he had to cook it wouldnt be very good at all. he looked at aphrodite wondering why she chose chinesse.

Aphrodite looked over at him and grinned a little. "That'd be me, now what do you want?" she asked. She stood up and finally decided on what she wanted to eat. She wasn't the best cook on the planet, but it would be edible at least. She thought up the recipe and ingredients for what she wanted and waited for what he wanted.

"i'll have whatever you're having" hephaestus said and was glad he did't have to cook for there would most deffinatly be a fire if he was to cook. he put the menu down and looked around. it deffinatly did feel lonely in the resturaunt.

Aphrodite nodded and walked in the kitchen. She put on an apron that had been in there and started preparing the food. She came out with a massive plate of sweet and sour chicken, and a small bowl of sauce. "Dig in," she said as she sat down. She put some in her mouth, not dipping it in the sauce and thought it was actually pretty good. "You like it?"

hephaestus watched her come out with alot of food and thought wow that was quick. he took a piece and dipped it in the sauce and took a bite. it tasted really good and he took some more. "it's really good" he said reaching for another peice and dipping it in the sauce again. "you are trully a way better cook than i am" he said and smiled at her as he watched her eat some of the chicken.

"Well I try," Aphrodite said. She ate some more of the chicken and smiled to herself. She had left the girdle in the changing room for someone else. She didn't want it anymore, it would mean if she did have a relationship that it would be based on lies, that being the last thing she wanted.

hephaestus happily ate more of the delicious chicken infront of him and smiled. he didn't feel the effects of the girdle anymore and figured she left it when she tried on the dress. he finished eating his share of the chicken and said "that was good, thank you for the meal" he looked at aphrodite as she ate and smiled. he liked spending time with her even though he hadn't seen her in awhile. he thought about last nights encounter and thought it best that he didnt tell any of the gods about it lest they assume somthing.

Aphrodite leaned back in her seat and pushed the plate towards him. "I'm not nearly hungry to eat any of that, go ahead and eat the rest." she said as she nodded. She set the fortune cookies she had grabbed earlier and set them on the table too.

hepheastus happily ate the rest of the delicious chicken, and grabbed a fortune cookie. he smiled at aphrodite and opened it. it had some wacky fortune on it but it sorta made sense at the same time, or at least he thought it made sense. he looked up at aphrodite and asked "where to now?" he was looking forward to spending more time with her.

"It's your turn to decide, I decided on shopping and eating, it's now your turn." she said, smirking as she stood up. "So, with that, where to?" she asked. She pulled on the bottom of her dress when she stood up so that it didn't reveal anything too personal.

hephaestus stood up and smiled as aphrodite fixed her dress. "um... how about..." he thought for a momant then said "how about the beach?" he asked not really sure where to go. he started to head out of the chinesse place and stopped and waited for aphrodite.

Aphrodite nodded and walked down to the beach with him. She sat down and hugged her legs loosely. She looked over at him and smiled a bit. "Isn't the moon beautiful?" she said. She sighed and leaned back on the palms of her hands.

hephaestus looked at her when she spoke. "yeah beutiful" he said looking at her then he looked out at the water and sat down beside her. "i can't believe it's already night" he said looking out over the water. "today went by so quickly"

"Time flies when you're having fun," Aphrodite said quietly. She looked over at Hephaestus. "I wonder if Poseidon has gone to sleep, the waves aren't flowing very much anymore..." she mumbled.

Athena woke, looking around confused.
Then she realized that she was looking at the inside of a book, and sat up. She was on her couch, and the book she was almost finished with tumbled to the floor. She stretched, got up, and headed out of her house. She looked around, surprised it was night, then shrugged and headed towards the market stalls. She wondered what her sister, and her father, were up to. |
"yeah it does" hephaestus said looking at the water. he looked over at aphrodite and noticed that she looked stunning in the moonlight. he stared at her for a moment then lied down and his back and stared at the night sky. spotting several constelations. he put his hands behind his head and closed his ees for a second, and opened them again looking at the bright moon.
