"Are you tired?" Aphrodite asked seeing him laying down. His eyes were closed, another sign of him being tired. She laid back as well and arched her legs. She drew a little heart in the sand, just like the one she had drawn the other day, before Zeus ruined it.

Artemis turned to the voice and saw Hera. "Aha,long time no see.How have you been?" She said smiling and thought to herself Zeus better tell me the reason even if someone else is here.She looked at the time and wondered where Apollo was since she hadn't seen him in a while. She then thought about going to the beach for another late night swim.

"not at all" heaphaestus said looking over at aphrodite drawing in the sand. "i am just relaxing" he stated looking back up at the night sky. "it's been awhile since i have relaxed like this". he leaned on his elbow and drew some random picture in the sand, and the covered it up. he lay back down and stared at the sky.

"What'd you draw and why'd you cover it up?" she said as she moved his hand. She saw nothing, so she just stared up at the night sky again. A small shooting star flew across the sky, she didn't wish for anything, she had everything she needed.

hephaestus looked at her as she moved his hand from where he drew something. "well, i drew something random" he said as he looked at her. he looked up in time to see the shooting star and wondered about what the future might bring.

Aphrodite stood up and walked down the beach, leaving Hephaestus in the sand. "Well, are you coming?" she asked. She watched her footprints dissapear, one of her favorite past times of Greece.

hephaestus stood up and brushed the sand off of him. "yeah im comin" he said as he walked along beside her. he couldn't quite get over how beautiful she looked in the moonlight. he watched his own steps fade away as he walked beside her and looked out over the calm ocean.

"Poseidon!!" Aphrodite yelled over the water. She looked at Hephaestus and laughed. "Run!" she said as she ran for her house. She ran inside, panting. She sat on her chair and put her head back. "He's probably really pissed." she laughed.

hephaestud stood shocked then saw her running and chased after her. at her house he sat down in the chair across from her. "yeah he probably is" he said slightly breathing heavy. e looked around and the previous nights memories flooded back to him and he turned a little red remembering them. he looked at her as she laughed and couldn't help but laugh a bit to. "so why exactly did we run?" he asked "he wouldn't be able to catch us even if we walked"

Aphrodite shrugged. "Everyone needs a little exercise." she said. She laughed as she remembered last night. "You're such a klutz...how'd you even shoot yourself anyway? Well...not yourself...but your pants." she asked. She stood up and made some tea.

heaphaestus turned red when she mentioned it and said slightly embarassed "well when my hand was in my pocket i accidentally moved the trigger and my gun went off". he scrathed his nose. "and yes i know im a klutz, but thats what enables me to invent non-klutzy inventions." he said trying to make his klutzyness into a plus point, but ended up sounding stupid.

Before Hera could reply to her question, Artemis was already starting to walk away."Well I have to go.The moons gotta be set soon and I wanna find Apollo..."She stopped and turned back around."And Zeus don't think I let you off easy.You better tell me the answer sometime soon." She started to run towards the beach.

Aphrodite laughed a little bit. "How's your leg doing?" she asked as she walked back in with her tea. She sat down across the room from him and smoothed out her dress.

Apollo reached the beach after only a few minutes of walking. There was a bit of road between the town center and the water, but when you're the god of the Sun, the one who rides through the skies all day long, what did a few miles matter? He bent down and touched the water. Ripples formed from where his finger poked through the liquid, and he waited a moment. Nothing happened. Impatient, he started slapping the water, much like a beaver with it's tail to ward off danger. If the loud, obnoxious noises didn't wake up Poseidon, nothing could. Well, maybe a giant rock being thrown into the ocean... but he could never do that. Again, no response. "Oh, come on, Fish sticks," Apollo muttered. He was getting bored. There was no one to interact with. Artemis was missing and if Apollo knew her location he would rush there immediately. Although they had their spats, the twins were linked together more than most gods. Apollo sighed. "Old barnacle..." He grumbled. Standing, he dusted off the back of his pants and turned as he heard the crunching of gravel coming towards him. Oh, goodie! A god! He wondered who it was and he waited, bouncing in one spot, to see the newcomer. [That's your cue, XxPERFECTxMESSxX! ;D] |
heapheastus watched her come back into the room and smooth out her dress. "it's fine" he said. he didn't even remember it hurting when his gun burned a hole in his pants. he looked around the room, and wondered how it could be this big when the outside looks so small.

Hera looked at Artemis her usual 'kill everyone' look. "I have been just peachy," she said to Artemis. "Well good bye then and give your lovely brother my love ," she snapped as she glared at Artemis as she walked away. "And what was that about," she said as she turned her glare on to Zues.

After smoothing out her dress, Aphrodite set her tea down and folded her legs. "So, where exactly do you live? I'm not going to kill you, I promise. Just out of curiousness." she said. She looked around for Cupid, but expected he would be in another country shooting arrows for the night.

heaphaestus watched her and suddenly snapped back to reality when she spoke. "well i live a little ways past the market, its that big looking warehouse just past the jewlery stalls." he said trying his best to acuratly place his house. he couldn't help but notice again how stunning she looked in that dress.

When Artemis finally got to the beach, she saw Apollo.She quickly ran over and hugged him."APOLLO I MISSED YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!"She squeezed harder hoping it would annoy him a little.She hadn't seen his annoyed face and it was her favorite face he would make.When she saw that the ocean was calm she let go and picked up a couple small rocks throwing them in."Yo fishy wake up!"She was hoping that Poseidon would get mad, since she didn't have that much excitement left in her life since the humans were gone.

Apollo yelped as his sister lunged at him. "Artemis!" He cried, overjoyed at seeing her after so long. He started to open his mouth, wanting to tell her of how much he missed her too, but her hugging got tighter. He grimaced. He hated tight hugs. Anything that constricted him annoyed him and Artemis knew that more than anyone.
He rubbed his stomach after she let go. "Gee, you're still the same as ever," he murmured. His eyes followed his sister while she wandered over to the water and threw a rock in. "I already tried. He's sleeping too deep... So, what have you been doing lately?" |
Artemis stopped throwing the rocks in the water."Stupid fish-brains.... I've been doing the usual.Hunting,swimming, and I was looking for you most of the time.Where were you?" Her happy face filled with tears when she remembered the long months without Apollo."You left me alone all that time....I was looking for you forever....."

Apollo's heart sank. Being the god of the sun, he was always busy with his duties. He hardly had time for himself let alone anyone else. But he and Artemis weren't like the other gods. They were twins, connected not only through their birth and lineage, but their control over night and day. Polar opposites. Yet still the same.
"I'm sorry, Sis," Apollo apologized glumly. He glanced down at the ground, suddenly finding he could not meet his sister's eyes. "You know how busy I get. We both do. It's a hard job." He paused, hesitant to continue. Would it upset her more or make things better? He wouldn't know until he tried. So he did. "Now with the humans gone, maybe we can spend more time together. Like back in the old days..." By old days he meant back when they were first born, just before they learned of their responsibilities. |
Artemis wiped her tears away and smiled."Yeah. Hopefully our jobs wont be as hard now."She walked over and hugged him again. This time she didn't squeeze him to hard since she didn't want to make him mad.She looked back out to the sea."I wonder when Poseidon is gonna wake up. I haven't seen him in two days...Usually hes out at this time of day."She couldn't help but wonder since it was almost sun set and he hadn't set a foot out of the ocean all day.

Apollo shook his head slowly. "I don't know, Sis. Maybe he's not here. Maybe he's out wandering around like everyone else." It was strange for Poseidon to be sleeping so long. Too strange. Apollo wondered if something had happened to the god under the water. No, the sea was Poseidon's domain. He wouldn't get hurt in it... Would he?
Regardless, he had a job to do. "The sun needs to set soon. I must be on my way. Gotta bring light everywhere I go, y'know?" He flashed his sister a bright grin and mockingly saluted her. "See you later, Sis." |
Poseidon woke up to rocks hitting him in the head. "Ugh, just when i finally fall asleep..." He quickly rose out of the water and saw Apollo and Artemis."Oh no.It's the two troublemakers. Can you do me a favor and not throw rocks at me when im sleeping?" He quickly pushed a wave over both of their heads.
