((Hi Koraru! :D I find this another case of Questa's unable to have a normal conversation. She had lived a while in a mental hospital, practically the cause for a majority of this.))

"I never said it was fake, but it's unnecessary--" Questa said, "A smile is meaningless. I know it can show happiness but it's also used as a mask." Her face was its usual emotionless as it was before tears. "I'm glad Ami cares for me, I admire Skyler for his continuation, but I can't have it. I can't... I'll end up getting hurt again."

Her dead cold eyes welded back up with tears, she was still huddled in a ball on the ground.

((lol she’d probably be mainly confused, sill naïve thing))

Ami heard Skyler suddenly perk up to ‘defend’ her and turned towards him a moment. He’d figured out why she smiled? She didn’t think she’d said so… after what she’d said about him trying to make her and her mother happy… perhaps it was obvious. She watched him a moment, seeing how he seemed so upset. For a moment she reached out, taking his fist in one of her hands and rubbing the back of his hand with her thumb in a calming gesture. She wanted to say something comforting to him but she didn’t know what to say…

Hearing questa and turning back to her she saw the tears, briefly her own eyes growing sad. She bent next to her, wrapping her arms around her and half laying next to her. “Questa… no… you’re wrong. You can have anything you want because it’s going to be okay. Just trust me hmm?” She said quietly, reaching one hand to brush a little of Questa’s hair out of her face. She then spoke to both of them, saying quietly “You’re both right about smiles… and wrong to… so please, don’t’ argue?” she hated conflict….

Ami's concerned gesture took the kid by surprise, but more so her words, and even more so that he was going to follow them. Skyler looked to the floor, still pouting, clinging to Ami's arm. He wasn't going to argue, holding his tongue, but couldn't help being annoyed. So what if it was a mask? It wasn't meaningless, or worthless, it was what kept him from going insane every day, its what brought him closer to others. There's no way something like that held no meaning, when it held such power around others...

Questa didn't respond, she just looked strait up at Ami. Her eyes were... different. They weren't her usually dead eyes, they were completely empty. There was no soul behind the now frightened grey-blue eyes, absolutely nothing.
She hit Ami forcefully in the jaw, backing herself into a wall immediately afterwards. "Stay away!" She shrieked, her piercing voice probably cracking a window somewhere. "Just stay away, Don't touch me!" She said again, her voice on the verge of screaming.

Dane had figured something was wrong when he heard a smack of someone getting hit. He ran outside his room. "_______" Dane swore, immediately running to Questa and pressing the back of her neck. She fell unconscious instantly. "Ami... Please," He started, apologizing to both Skyler and Ami as if it was his fault. He breathed,"I guess I really did need to come here..." He muttered.

((I'll leave what Dane said up to your imagination.))

Ami looked at skyler as he clung to her arm, giving him a warm if slightly uncertain smile. She knew he was hurting… and hurt lingered in her gaze for it… She wanted to help him… tell him how smiles meant everything to her but she knew that to some they meant nothing which was why they were both right. Still she really didn’t have time to say anything but “thank you skyler….” As she knew it was hard for him to stay quiet…

Feeling the hit she fell backwards as far as she could considering skyler clinging to her arm, sprawling on her side with her head bent forward so her hair covered her face and now bruised jaw. She said nothing for a moment, her eyes watering from the unexpected hit but only for a second. One wouldn’t even know unless they could see through her hair. As Dane approached she looked up at him, giving him half a smile. “It….it’s okay…. I..is Questa okay?” She said once her jaw stopped ringing enough for her to be able to speak.

"...No." Dane said honestly, responding at the same time as checking Questa's pulse, etc.
It was silent again. "I could go on to tell you about it... this was a normal occurrence." He said, finally sure Questa was physically fine before directing his attention to Ami's wound.
"This girl pretty intense adrenaline rushes, I'm sorry you had to be the victim on that." He said, cracking an ice pack and handing it to Ami. "Put this on your bruise." He instructed, and then sat down in front of the two.

Melana did not know what to do in this situation. She took a few steps back from Questa and Ami. What had just happened? Did she just punch her? Why? Why? Why? These were some of the questions running through Melana's mind as she back away from them. She turned to Ami and said, "You alright?"

((*twiddles thumbs waiting for Koaru to post >.> figures skyler might react some toher beign hit*))

"I suppose this has an explanation, ne?" said Skyler, holding Ami protectively. He pushed away the hair, revealing her bruise, and blowing a kiss over it. "A kiss to make it better... I'm sorry... it was my fault she got mad... not yours, Ami-chan..."

Ami shrugged as Dane spoke his apology, simply nodding on the rest and taking the ice pack to put on her jaw in thought. She’d thought Questa… was… her friend. If Dane said the truth, however, it wasn’t Questa’s fault she supposed. Still.. It did make her a little sad. The only one who ever hit her was her father …and only once. Her familiar had made sure of that….

Hearing Melana she looked up, giving her a weak smile and nodding. “I…I’m fine…” She said quietly, albeit a little shakily. She hadn’t expected this… she hadn’t expected this at all… As Skyler held her she blushed a little, not use to such attention. She looked up a moment, appearing … confused. The kiss made her blush further and she looked down as if ashamed of hwo red she was. She only mumbled, however, “it…it’s not your fault….”

"It's nobody's fault."Dane said, taking a breath to think about how he was supposed to explain all this. It was take around a full day to get every little detail in. He might as well give it a shot"It does have an explanation...." He trailed off. He ruffled his hair a bit, thinking it over.

(("... But I can't tell you guys till tomorrow morning." Says Dane. Little Missy is sleepy and has to get up earlier tomorrow. You guys hafta wait till then XD))

"Weeeeeellllll? We're listening" said Skyler, clinging now to Ami's waist, a look of contempt in his face. After seeing Ami blush, he knew he couldn't take chances with this guy: he was a rival, and he didn't have the body to compete with him.

Ami looked up a little as Dane spoke, hoping to hear more of Questa’s story. She was worried… such a fragile girl in this crazy environment… As he trailed off, she was about to ask for the explanation he spoke of when someone else did it for her. She glanced half way to him, realizing that he was still holding her waist. She flushed a little bit, trying to figure out why a moment. She was not one to think a guy could actually like her so she assumed he was just worried for her. Skyler was a good friend really, she decided.

"If you guys don't already know, Questa been suffering from mental disorders since.... forever, I guess. And I've only been with her for... five years." He said, giving the basic background before actually going into detail. "Before she was seven she had her panic attacks and actually sent an art teacher to the E.R., so the doctors told her parents she would be better in St. Marie's Institute. It was a mental hospital, but it's been closed down for 8 years now. It made her a lot worse, actually, then help her. She suffered from neglect, physical and mental abuse, and anxiety attacks frequently." Dane said, thinking the story over in his head. He learned most of this from her file and not Questa herself, so he wasn't sure if it was the whole thing, but it was fact. "While she was kept there the doctors said afterwards she developed something worse then she had before. They at first though it was bipolarism, due to the fact she was silent one day and chaotic another, but they finally figured out she didn't have all the symptoms. So, mostly what she deals with is chronic mood swings and Undifferentiated Schizophrenia... We think. He ran back in his room for a second, then coming back out with a crumbled piece of paper to hand to the two. It was just a quick note, in case they didn't understand Schizophrenia.

"So she was sent to me in a total chaotic state, and after four years I've almost been able to calm her completely, but that was in a closed safe environment. I was a bit worried about sending her to a school but helped convince her parents as much as possible because of Questa's request to go." He trailed off a bit, but now directed his speaking to Ami's bruise and Questa's attack. "I think something triggered a bad memory and a hallucination. I personally think it was the noise the headphones were making more then anything else, but her brain brought her back to obviously the hospital. Schizophrenics suffer from hallucinations constantly, so if she is really suffering from it it's pretty normal, but apparently she couldn't tell who anyone was. As far as she was concerned, at the moment, you were a nurse back at St. Marie's. She probably won't remember a thing either..." He finished, looking strangely at Skyler.

"Wait... Have I actually met you before?" Dane asked.

((Lol, don't let Skyler know that, Staria, although if Aiden indeed likes her, he might just back off))

Still eyeing Dane cautiously, he returned to his usual mask of a smile. "Iie, we haven't met before" responded Skyler, with his devilishly sweet smile. "Skyler Walker, at your service! But how could she think Ami-chan was one of those evil nurses! Ami-chan is too kind and sweet to do anything bad to Ques-chan! I knew she was a bit bad up here" He pointed to his temples "but I didn't think it was something as scary as Schizophrenia. You know, I wonder if Deka has Schizophrenia sometimes, you should really check him out."

Not precisely sure why this vampire would know him, Skyler tried to divert attention from himself. And of course, a mask of friendship helped to make sure he wouldn't distrust him.

Arlynn shrugged. "Go for it, I'm just going to lay out and relax for awhile." She said, plopping down on the cool grass and laying back. "Just wake me up when you're ready to go." She ordered, letting her eyes close. There had been way too much drama for her in the past few days. Sleeping was really the only thing she could think of doing right now.

Ami listened to the story quietly, not saying anything at first. Finally she just nodded to show she understood. Her jaw didn’t hurt that bad… so it would be okay. She just wondered now if Questa ever would be… She feared for her really, always wanting to save someone she couldn’t. Would it always be that way? “I see… Is there any way … I can help?” She asked quietly.

She suppressed a sigh as part of her knew the answer was no... As Skyler spoke, however, she glanced to him, smiling faintly. She couldn’t help but be complimented, as kind was one thing she wanted to be above all others. She liked helping people and them knowing they could turn to her.. It made her feel… special

Smiling as he decided to let her rest, Hikaru relaxed on his own way, practicing his katas in the water. Not only did it cool him off, and the flowing motion of the water hitting him help him relax, but it also put an extra strain on his movements, making them stronger and faster in actual battle. Maybe here would be a good place to train after all.

Still, he kept stealing glances at Arlynn, worried about how she really was feeling. He knew the girl was stubborn, probably as stubborn as his mom, which he considered a good thing, but at the same time he worried that she wouldn't allow him to help her at all. He knew she was nowhere near as vulnerable as Kari, and frankly he valued that, but he still enjoyed helping out.

"I wanna help too," added Skyler. "Ques-chan is a good girl, she's been through enough. And I can't let Ami-chan put all the worries in her shoulders, I want to make sure Ami-chan doesn't overexert herself!"

Ami glanced over as Skyler spoke, smiling faintly as he spoke. Worrying about her and questa… he really was a good guy. She was happy she’d made such a wonderful new friend. People were so nice at this school, it made her feel so at home. She murmured a soft “thank you” before turning her attention to Dane. It all was up to him now..

Melana was concerned about Questa. Poor girl. she thought again. Melana said to Dane, "I want to help too." She looked over at Ami and Skyler. Still in her pjs, she felt kind of awkward. She was wearing shorty shorts and a t-shirt. She sat down next to Ami and Skyler and tried to make herself not as visable.

"Skyler..." Dane mused, thinking it over in his head that he remembered the name. "Ah! You were the one that made her pass out, right?" He asked, actually amused by the thought. I thought you were a girl... He thought, then turning serious involving Questa's state.
"Nope." Said Dane, sighing to the fact there was nothing really possible. "Just stick by her, I guess. She's not used to be around too many people, actually, but she's naturally warming up. What's good is that I didn't give her a chance to scream, that would have just been problematic for everyone." He picked unconscious Questa up, carrying her over to Skyler and Ami. "I hope this isn't a lot to ask, but can you take her down to her room? She's not in any real need to visit the hospital wing but she'll probably want to wake up in her own bed. I've got to continue working on her headphones." He said.

Ami nodded but then glanced at her, biting her lip. “I don’t think I’m strong enough to carry her…” She said quietly, debating how to do so. As always she only thought of ways to do it herself, not asking for help. It was something she had in common with a lot of people here though it seemed… She glanced towards Skyler, however, accepting that she needing help. “Will you carry her for me please?” She asked with a cheerful and warm smile.
