Kilyo grinned. "Tell the truth, I cannot see you teaching. But I like that you want to be. Its pretty cool." They got to the steps leading to the school. "I want to own my own garage someday, once I get enough money. Working on mostly harleys but I know a lot about other cars too."

She smiled."Thats a nice dream..I think I only want to be a history teacher because I love it and I get A's in it every year."

She laughed. "Makes sense to me." She walked to her locker, put in the combo and hit it so it would open. "Ah, I love doing that. Whats your first class again?"

"My first class is science."She said lightly and opened her locker which was only a few away from Kilyo's.

After Katie had brought him home that night, Quinn felt ashamed of his rundown apartment building. Going upstairs, he gave the leftovers to his mother and went to his room to get incredibly high. Getting high that night was so needed by his body, but every second made Quinn hate himself and his needs more and more. He rolled onto the floor from his floor-set mattress. The floor was more comfortable than that rugged piece of shit anyway. he knew his mom and him couldn't afford another thing right now anyway. The world was spinning still by the time he woke up, clothes torn off from the heat flash the drugs had given him while he had slept. His head was pounding in his head, the high still mighty prevalent by the time his alarm went off. It was too early for him to actually wake up for school, so he hit snooze and rolled back over. 'Please fall back asleep, self.. please..' he thought to himself, not wanting to go to school and deal with the withdrawals during the classes he used to like. The only plus about this year was that he actually had friends, and an almost girlfriend. As he picked himself up off the floor in pieces, he groaned. Everything was sore, like most days. He shut his alarm off before the snooze beeped again and ran his hands through the many tangles in his hard curly hair. Looking in the mirror, he flipped the on switch of his stereo, "The Murderer" by Alesana playing from his cd. Picking up a few pieces of clothing, which, one might add, he was not sure were clean of not, and changed into them. He was dragging his feet as he walked to the school, early, for a change. His whole body felt ready to shut down as he lit a cigarette and let it hang loosely from his lip. It was his way of having a morning coffee, only, worse for you. Arriving to the school, he punched his locker open and grabbed his notebook and a pen. In all honesty, he believed he was going to fail this year from day one, and though it was only day three, he knew it wasn't going to get much better. |

Katie nodded."I'm gonna go fine Quinn.See ya in Science."She said and shut her locker,holding her bag full of books on her shoulder and walked down the hall to where Quinns locker was.She grinned and took the cigarette from his mouth when she came up beside him."I'm pretty sure you could get expelled for this."She said and pressed it into samantha Locks locker,it was a few away from Quinns and she was one of the preppy cheerleaders locker until it went out and then threw it away before giving him a kiss on the cheek."Sleep well?"

Kilyo smiled and then shut her locked. She went down the hall and went into her classroom early. She didn't really have anything else to do.

As Katie approached him, he rubbed the back of his head. Watching as she wasted the last few millimeters of the cancer stick, he took a breath. "Slept like shit. How was your night at Ki's?" He wouldn't tell her he was too high to function last night, but he figured she would guess by his cool demeanor. He was always a bit distant after a night of total drug induced metal warp. He felt like he wanted to crawl into a hole and die, but Katie was with him, which helped. She always helped. |
She took his hand seeing he was acting a bit strange,she guessed it was the drugs."It was great.I slept well..and her mother actually made food in morning..and I wasn't hit at all."She said with a small smile..she then frowned since he seemed to be in a crappy mood."If you ever want to see me or need a place to stay you can come to my fathers..Drake threw in a few nice words about you and now he has my father saying your a wonderful boy."She said lightly,maybe if he was with her more he wouldn't do drugs so often.

Quinn forced a smile when she mentioned she hadn't been hit. He truly hated that her father was abusive. Abuse was most certainly not okay. He touched her cheek with the hand she wasn't holding. "I'm glad you had a good night, and thank you. I usually like to be home so my mom isn't, but she has a new boyfriend, so I'm probably not needed as much anymore.." He rolled his eyes. Boyfriend? He was an asshole, but he knew that asshole made his mom happy, and if he didn't have to hear them fucking in the other room for a night, he would be happy.

She blushed and kissed him,then stepping back since she knew that if she didn't she would keep doing it."So what class do you have next again?"She asked,still holding onto his hand.She hoped he would come to her house sometime..her father acted nice when her friends were around.But Kilyos was nice too.

Quinn smiled at the kiss Katie had planted on his lips. A genuine smile, which was unusual for him. He looked up slightly, trying to recount what class he had. "Uhm.. Science? Or something like that. I don't know. I never go anyway." He shrugged, swinging there hands slightly. That's when he realized he had forgotten his school bag. But he didn't let it phase him. It was pretty much good for nothing anyway. He hardly used it.

"Well I have science too..so you should go."She said and looked down at their hands and then back up at him,noticing he had no books or even a bag."You can borrow my science book."She said with a smirk.

"Eh, fuck it. I'll go, but I won't pay attention. Don't worry. Unless you mean, we can sit near each other and share." He winked, kissing her on the cheek. It was a wonder, how could she instantly make his rough morning better? She entered his life as naturally as breathing, warm and safe.

"Yeah,we can sit by each other.We don't have assigned seats yet."She said and started walking down the hall until they reached the door of the science room."I want to skip gym today.."She groaned."I heard we were doing the fitness tests and I'm slow at running and I hate sit ups.."She said with a frowned and walked in the room and to the back table.She was happy that it was a table for two so she could sit by Quinn.She let go of his hand so he could sit down.She sighed and pulled out her science book and got out two pencils,giving Quinn one.She knew they weren't going to use them but atleast they would look like they were working.

Kilyo smiled at Katie and Quinn but then went back to the writing she was doing.

Quinn smiled at Kilyo and waved with his little finger before sitting down in a chair, slouching. "I don't think i'll make it to gym either. Fitness and my body don't go together. I have no muscle mass, practically." He rolled his eyes. Gym was one of his least favorite subjects in school, aside from the whole, school part. Taking the pencil and nodding in appreciation, he began to doodle on a scrap piece of paper. The design was messy now, sure, but one day, it could be considered a work of art.

She grinned."Atleast your cute."She said and looked down at his doodle."Whatcha drawin?"She asked lightly and brushed her bangs out of her eyes.She looked down at her paper out of boredom and began marking slanted lines in between the lines on the paper.She didn't know if because she did this she was insane or just so screwed up that she would.She would sometimes do this when she was thinking about something or sometimes when she was depressed.

"Nothing fancy, just abstract." He shrugged his shoulders and took a breath. "What about you?" He cocked his head slightly. looking at the lines she had drawn. He considered calling the other girl over, but he figured Kilyo wouldn't have much interest in being a third wheel. Slowly, he started to feel bad.

"Just random lines.."She said quietly..looking over and noticing his facial expression.She looked up to the front of the classroom and noticed the teacher was facing the bored so she gave him a quick kiss."I'm fine just a little upset about my dad.Are you okay..?"She asked,taking his hand in hers.He made her feel better and forget about her father when she was with him.She was so happy last nite when she was at Kilyos but now it was just hitting her that after having the good things happen..shes going back to the damn place tonight.
Drake walked in science class and noticed Katie drawing the lines in her notebook,he winced a little and sat down in the back left corner. |
"It'll be okay.. I wish you didn't have to go back. He seems like a regular asshole." Quinn whispered, kissing her as Drake entered the room. He wanted the bastard to realize what he lost and hate himself for it. Was it so bad to feel like that? Then he took a little leap of faith. "Hey, uhm.. Katie? Do you wanna come over tonight and have dinner with mom and me?" It was something he had never done, taken anyone home from school, but he knew it would make his mother so happy. Gnawing the inside of his lip nervously as the teacher looked up at the clock and prepared to begin his long and boring class.

Katie blinked."Sure..I'd love too."She smiled and kissed him one last time before the teacher turned and looked at the class.She looked down at her notebook,getting prepared for the boring science class.
