Rivka was still outside the loop. Why was everyone so serious? "A stupid person?" She said as the other girl defined 'moron'. "Oh! I get it! Tee hee! That tall guy was being a stupid person!" Of course she didn't really know what he had done. That's when her stomach started to grumble ever so slightly. "I am hungry! Would you boys like something to eat as well?" Being a witch, Rivka could make almost anything was long as she had something to exchange for it, such as changing a candy bar into a delicious delicasy from her own world. "If you have anything edible, I can make it delicious!" She chirped happily as she linked arms with the two boys and joyfully stepped down the hallway.
Malcom watched the little angel girl as she looked at all the crappy cafeteria food. She was so... innocent! That freak of girl who was with Luca before would love to be friends with her, now it was just a matter of getting the angel to spy for them... "Yah, I guess your right, Lisell." He muttered as he waved at the little girl and then turned his full attention to the beautiful blond. "It still pisses me off that he finally made friends though, it's like all our hard work has been in vain." Malcom bit his bottom lip as she kept repeating "wait until school starts", that was so long from then though! Okay, so it was only a few days but still! A large majority of Malcom's time went to bullying Luca and flirting with Lisell, he couldn't flirt with the elf all the time!
That's when the other new girl walked past him. She kept calling him four-eyes! And what did 'Abruti' even mean? Malcom just chuckled darkly as she walked past him and Lisell and sat down by herself. At least he had friends and status. She was a nobody...

Waltz had to make a disgusted face while eating, she bet everything at this school tasted bad.
Merde, Merde, La pièce laide de merde! Her imaginary friends chanted, swirling around Lisell. She couldn't help but laugh a bit, her imagination taking it's toll without her even realizing it. That was the price to pay for abilities, she guessed.
She pressed her finger to her lips, silencing her illusions as if other people could actually hear them. Something did, in fact, but that was only a snake-bunny a couple of feet away who picked up the vibrations of the illusion.
Waltz nodded her head back in forth as if listening to a tune, enjoying the company of her own subconscious. She didn't need other people as long as she had herself to talk to, and that was that. So far today, though, she had come in contact with lot of different people.
There was Triste(Luca), Sympa(Rivka), and Yeux-Rouges(Lazareth)... then there was Four-Eyes-Abruti and Merde. In reality, she didn't really like any of them on a personal level. But that was just because she didn't like people generally.
"Ah." Neil said, accidentally bumping into someone slightly as he was going back to his table from getting a plate of food. "Pardon me, Miss. I didn't see you there." The girl was short and blonde, carrying a plate of strawberries and something that resembled cafeteria pizza.
Sheela was atop his head too, looking down curiously at the little girl. She sniffed lightly at her once, but then turned away at the sent of grease.

Ariana nearly fell over as someone bumped into her, but she just barely managed to keep her balance. She looked at the boy who had bumped into her and smiled brightly. "Oh, it's quite alright. I was an accident after all." She said happily as she looked up at the creature sitting on the boy's head. "It's so cute." She muttered under her breath, but just loud enough that he could still hear her. "My name is Ariana." She said, and though she would have extended her hand in greeting, she was carrying her food, so she couldn't do that. "I'm still very new here, would you mind terribly if I sat with you?"
---
Lazareth thought about Rivka's comment for a moment and of course he began to realize what she was. She had seemed a bit more human until just now, though the trace of magic that scented the air around her was unmistakable. She was a witch. That made a lot more sense. He reached his hand into his pocket and pulled out something wrapped in tin foil. "This is something from my home, so it might not be edible to anyone but demons. You can try to make it into something else though. I don't really care for these things myself." He said as he handed the thing over.

Neil peered up at Sheela atop his head, he had almost forgotten she was there.
"She says 'thank you'" He confirmed, actually not sure but assumed that could be an answer. It's not like people thought she was cute on a daily basis, usually they had to get used to the half-breed.
"New student?" He asked again after hearing Ariana's explanation, "And I really wouldn't mind, it's nice to meet you Ariana. I'm Neil." He shook her hand, pleased about how formal the girl was. He went back to his seat, Ariana following, and sat back down to allow Sheela to inspect everyone's food. Pleased at taking a carrot off Neil's plate, she went across the table and started to nibble on it.
"How are you getting used to the school then, Ariana?" Neil asked, knowing the feeling of being a new student. Of course, in his case he went right away to his studies, but apparently other students were more worried on the social aspect.

If at all possible, her smile grew even brighter as she followed him to the table and sat down. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Neil." She looked at the pizza and picked it up carefully, but she still seemed unsure whether or not she wanted it. She watched the little hybrid creature and giggled softly. "Well, that boy over there showed me how to get to the Administration Office. But other than that, I'm not sure what I should do." She said as she pulled out the school map. "I suppose I could wander around the school grounds until I know where everything is." She paused as she picked up one of the strawberries and bit into it. "Mrmph." She covered her mouth and swallowed. "These strawberries are really sweet. Would you like one?" She asked, offering the bowl as she still looked over the map. Though she lifted her gaze onto him after a moment.

Rivka's smile widened as she took the food wrapped in foil from her new demon friend. She chanted a few words under her breath and the foil and its contents started to melt in her hand; quickly she got to work. The witch swirled out the melting subtance first to form an arm, then a leg, then another arm and a leg and finally she twisted a head at the top. The substance was hardening and the foil and slowly disappeared to leave a light brown cookie with brightly colored decorations. "It's a ginger-beard man!" Rivka chirped as she held up the finished project. "But I am not too sure why they call it bread when it tastes so sweet." She displayed it proudly, hoping to impress her new friends with her magical abilities.

That boy? Neil looked over his shoulder to see who she was talking about. For a short second his expression darkened at the sight of Malcom, but turned cleared as he turned back around. He certainly didn't have the need to warn her about anything, she'd probably end up finding out soon enough.
"Oh, no thank you." He said to the offer of strawberries, "I'm not too much of a fan of sweet things." Sheela, however, was. The bunny-hybrid hopped it's way over to the bowl, digging her nose inside it eagerly before taking anything out. Neil continued regardless, "The school isn't so hard to get used to, especially if you have a map. I've never gotten lost before so that's not too high of a chance either." He said proudly, thinking back on it how often younger students could actually get lost. Not at this time of day, of course, when it was basically uncrowded before classes.

Ariana smiled when the hybrid took a strawberry and then she focused on Neil. "I almost forgot, does she have a name?" She asked as she looked at the little creature curiously. It was an interesting hybrid, certainly not something she would see too often. She folded up the school map and put it away into a pocket of her dress. "Well, I'm certain I won't have too much trouble finding my way around without a map. But I will need to hang onto it for directions if I do get lost." She said thoughtfully, her voice soft and sweet, and it sounded more like she was talking to herself at the moment. "Umm, if you don't mind me asking, what kind of classes are you taking?" She asked, her tone polite, calm, yet still very sweet, a clear sign of her innocence.
---
Lazareth stared at the ginger-bread man that Rivka had created out of his pathetic demon snack. His stomach rumbled and he realized how long it had been since he'd last eaten, or had any coffee. "Um, are there any vending machines that you can get coffee from?" He asked, he remembered seeing one once at the last school he'd been sent to, though only the teachers there had been allowed to get anything from it. That had been a real bummer, since he'd had to go off campus to the town and get coffee from one of the little coffee shops. That was just a pain, and as he thought about it, ginger-bread and coffee sounded really good at the moment.

Luca looked at his candy bar and soda that he had just got from the machine. "Here" HE passed it on to the girl wondering how this magic worked. He was interested in that kind of stuff. "Can you make it a burrito?" Thats what he was craving right now. so he just hoped that she would know what a burrito was.
Luca opened the can in his hand and it made the familiar hissing sound as it fuzzed up.
---
Lisell noticed the glare from the kid across the way. (neil) She just rolled her eyes. It didnt matter what anyone thought anymore they all seemed against them.
Lisell did notice that the other girls at the table were jealous because Malcom was only talking to her. She felt so high up there in status is was ridiculous. "Well i got to go" Lisell got up and started walking out. "Stu co meeting."

Rivka, who was still eager to please, handed Lazareth the gingerbread man and took hold of the candy bar. She had seen a burrito when she was staying in the town before and had done some research on "Mexican food", so she was fairly confident that she could do it. Quickly the witch got to work, removing the wrapper of the candy this time and rubbing it between both hands until the color started to lighten and a rolled tortilla was formed. "Er, I am not too certain what a burrito tastes like, however I hope this is to your enjoyment!" She handed Luca her creation meekly. "May I borrow some of your so-dah?" Rivka asked as she took the can from his hands and poured a small bit into the candy bar wrapper before handing it back. The soft plastic had now hardened into a foam cup and the sweet liquid was now thick and dark. With a heavy blow onto the coffee steam began to rise and she handed that to Lazareth as well. The witch blew on her empty hands and a spark of magic rose up, now to see if her new friends enjoyed her handiwork.
Malcom was very aware he was getting a glare from a boy sitting with the little blond girl, however he was looked at with such lust from some girls nearby that he didn't really mind. Lisell got up to leave though, and that's when he thought he should exit the cafeteria too. "Okay, text me when your done," He said as he stood up and stuck his hands into his pockets. "We'll get dinner." With that he walked out of the lunch room and back into the halls...

Lazareth took a whiff of the coffee and smiled, taking the ginger cookie, he dipped it into the coffee, head first. He bit into it and was only a little surprised by how good it tasted. Even just a sip of the coffee was just to his liking. He looked down at the witch, a fairly normal looking smile on his face. Sure demons were usually told to stay away from witches unless they were certain they could kill said witch, but he didn't exactly follow any of the other rules. And even then, they were more like guidelines rather than rules, as they weren't really enforced. Apart from the rule about demonic personality and the rule that a demon needed to have a head count of at least 100 to be considered an 'adult'. Stupid rules. He thought as he dipped the ginger cookie into the coffee more and bit off one of the arms.

Sheela squeaked, making a slight sound that resembled 'seewoo'
"Her name's Sheela." Neil confirmed, petting Sheela atop the scaled prat of her head. "I'm certain she's about two years old by now..." He said, not remembering the birthday of his creation. It was unfortunate, but a little detail like that wasn't too easy to remember in the grand creation of the creature itself.
Neil thought about the question towards his classes for a few seconds, this girl Ariana sounded much too innocent for her own good. It was a charming quality nevertheless, rare in the mobs of people this day in age. "This year I'm planning to take up advanced classes in the sciences, but not much else besides that since I don't have a particular super-ability. How about you, Ariana?"
Waltz refrained from talking to her illusions as much as possible, knowing that she would just appear to be talking to her own self. Fortunately, their taunting chants towards others had stopped and they were whisking around the room. One illusion creature, however, was not monitored by Waltz's watchful eye, and crept out of the room, fully visible by almost anyone since there was no control.

Ariana smiled at Sheela. "That's a lovely name." She said as she held a strawberry out to it. The pizza sitting on her plate would get cold, but it didn't look too tasty to her, so she was avoiding it herself. She listened to him talk and nodded as she took in the words. "That sounds fascinating, you must be very intelligent if you are to take an advanced class, especially in science." She said brightly. "Oh, well, having powers isn't always something to look forward to." She said as the emotions swirled in the air around her. They were almost overwhelming, but she was doing her best to block them out. She pulled out her class schedule. "The Order signed me up at this school, so I'm not sure exactly what my classes are about." She said as she looked over the schedule.
"Ah, here's one of my classes that's on an advanced level. Advanced Light Magic, most of it revolves around healing and nature." She said as she drew her finger gently over the list of classes. "Umm, there's something called Modern Studies, I suppose that means learning how to fit in with the modern world." She said softly. "Well, it looks like most of my classes are very basic, except for the magic class." She said after a moment. Of course, she was calling a Psychology class 'basic' as well as a class on Mastering One's Power.

'wrayoo' Sheela squeaked in reply, talking the strawberry and nibbling on it.
"I don't think you should worry too much about how basic your classes might be," Neil said, "It's most important to feel comfortable with the school then with your academics at first. My case is different, however, and the reason I'm more dedicated to science is because I cross-breed." He said, pointing to Sheela as an example of his work. She was his first successful attempt at created a living cross-breed, but he kept that fact hidden from the conversation.
He was curious about something, though. "Light Magic?" He questioned, not exactly knowing what it was even after Ariana's explanation. He wasn't too well versed in magic at all, focusing more on scientific reasoning.
The visible illusion, created by Waltz's mind, slowly made it's way along the walls of the hallways. It resembled a shadowy cat figure. Moving along, it hid behind Rivka and peered over her shoulder curiously.

Luca was a bit cautious as he bit into the burrito. She started chewing and all was okay till he opened his mouth and pulled out a jalapeño. He immediately started to water at the eyes. The reaper chugged down his can of soda till his mouth was relieved. He couldn't stand spicy things like that.
The rush of emotion had started a reaction in his eyes. It looked like yellow was seeping into the color of his eyes, but as soon as his mouth was no longer on fire his eyes went back to their dark blue. It was a thing that happen sometimes when there was a rush of instant emotion.
Luca shook his head "I don't think ill be doing that anytime soon." Luca had planned on going over to his dorm room and resting, but now that he was with a group he wasn't so sure of what he should do till dinner time came around.

Ariana nodded at his comment about how it didn't matter how basic her classes were. Her eyes darted to Sheela and then back to him. "I've never heard of anything like that before. Though I do remember someone from the Order complaining that humans were trying something called Genetic Engineering. I don't quite understand that however." She looked a little sad and confused but she shook her head lightly and smiled. "It's good to see that you're interested in something different than most people."
"Oh, well, magic isn't exactly the easiest thing to explain. The Order said that mainly science governs the rules of our world, but that Magic can bend those rules on occasion." She put her forefinger to her lip in thought. "There are many different kinds of magic. There's man-made magic, which is called Alchemy rather than magic. There is Dark Magic, which does things like raise the dead and all sorts of other harmful things. Combat Magic, is usually used by both sorcerers and witches, and it draws energy from the air to bend the elements to their will. And Light Magic is mostly nature stuff. Say someone is fatally wounded and there's no way to save them, a strong healing spell can save them from the brink of death, but it can't heal them completely. There are limits to magic, such as the strength of the spell itself, and the strength of the person casting it." She seemed lost in thought still. "They told me that a lot of the things that happen in our world, all the Miracles that happen are caused by magic. Anything that cannot be explained by science was usually casued by magic."
---
Lazareth would have laughed a little, but he didn't find it appropriate at the moment. Damn, he really wasn't like the others, but then why should he need to be like those crazy idiots? There was no reason for it. They would just have to get used to the way he was. It was kind of stupid to send him here in the first place, he was never gonna be like them. Pointless, really. He took another sip of the coffee and took another bite out of the ginger cookie. Now both arms were gone, and he smiled at that.

Rivka carefully watched the scene unfold. Luca was about to eat her creation and the look on his face will tell her if he liked it or not. It was almost to his mouth; he was going to take his first bite! Chomp. Rivka bit her lip as she watched Luca's cauious expression melt to a very excited one. Oh no. The boy pulled out something the humans called a 'pep-er' and his eyes were now watering. She made him cry! Oh no, oh no! "Ah, I-I am sorry!" Rivka started desprete to find a way to stop his tears (his eyes were changing colors, did that mean he was a witch too? No, he couldn't be!). That is, until Luca drank his so-DAH very quickly and shook his head. He looked fine now, but Rivka knew she had done something wrong. "I am very sorry, Luca Velvet!" She repeated, she was feeling horrible that she had made Lazareth smile with his food and not Luca. "How may I fix my blunder?" The witch was eager for a way to prove she wasn't a failure, she didn't want to lose Luca's friendship!

Luca had already calmed down and was over the intenseness of the pepper. "Its fine." He wiped the water off of his eyes and regained his composure. "It really is quite fine."
Luca noticed the strange shadowy cat on Rivkas shoulder. "Um."He was wondering if he should point it out or not. If she had made the creature appear herself then he would look like an idiot pointing it out to her, but if it wasn't something that she had created then he would feel bad for not telling her it was there. Instead he backed away from the creature a little. He didn't think it was dangerous just strange and probably listening on in what they were saying.

Rivka was relieved when Luca had said he was fine. She would need to make a mental note that he didn't like spicy foods and strive to do better. Lazareth was smiling though, and that made the witch feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. "Um?" She repeated. It was about that time that she noticed the small creature that had crept up behind her. "Oh my!" It was a cat, correct? No, it was more like a shadow. "What is this?" Rivka asked as she stared at the creature. It didn't seem like it was going to hurt her so she just let it be for now. "Is this what you would call a 'house pet'?" She asked Luca and Lazareth. "What should I do?" Being from another releam Rivka wasn't quite sure how to respond to the small shadow on her shoulder. "It looks like a demon!" She concluded. "Have you ever seen such a curious creature before, Lazareth?"

"Awro?" Said the illusion-cat, hopping down from Rivka's shoulder to the floor without making a sound. It did look somewhat like a demon, without a mouth or any real features for that matter, just a shadowy figure with large cat-eyes. "Miisa Awro~" It continued, looking straight up at the three. No, more like staring straight up at just Lazareth. It hissed slightly as it heard 'illusion' in his speech and continued to hop into nearby walls.
"Genetic Engineering, yes..." Neil trailed off, "... Plenty of people call it splicing, which I believe is a relatively new term." He said.
Not knowing much himself, Neil couldn't help but find himself interested in the laws of magic. He'd never studied it throughout his time here, because like most he believed the world was run by simple science. "I have heard of Alchemy," He concluded, "It was brought up in physics due to it's relation with an understanding of mathematics and science. I was just confused on Light Magic, really. It's not too well known?"
He picked at the leftovers of his food, finding peaces of raw fish in his salad as if it was a game.

Rivka watched the shadowy cat as it hopped from her shoulder and to the floor. She was in the middle of wondering how the small creature could make such strange noises when it didn't appear to have a mouth when the cat hissed and jumped through a wall. "That was exciting, correct?" Rivka concluded. She wasn't really sure how she was supposed to respond to the bizzare situation. "Shall we perhaps move our converstaion somewhere else?" Now that that the witch thought about it, that could have been a spy of some sort; maybe the vampires heard she was there and they were spying on her! Rivka shook her head to scatter the thoughts. She was being a little paranoid. It was probably just a deformed cat... That could walk through walls.

Ariana smiled and shook her head. "No, for the most part only Angels and Elves are capable of learning to use Light Magic. And since Angels are basically pure beings, their Light Magic is strongest. At least, that's what I've heard." She took a bite out of another strawberry before she continued. "The Order sent me here to learn more about this world, so that I can pass the test and become a Guardian." She said with ease, as if she wasn't revealing an age old secret.
---
Lazareth watched the creature move on with an apathetic look on his face. "Yeah, we could talk somewhere else." He said slowly, not really paying attention. Even with the coffee, his mind was still drifting on other thoughts, like what in the world that creature was. It seemed like it didn't like the word 'illusion', though he could have sworn... No, it was best not to get mixed up in it.

"A Guardian Angel, eh?" Neil said, smiling at the thought. It sounded like a little children's tale, but he assumed he shouldn't take it so lightly. Something at another table in the far corner of the room caught his eye. It looked somewhat like a cat, but with just an simple-looking structure he knew otherwise. Sheela hopped over and sniffed rapidly, letting it known that she had already sensed the creature.
"Do you see that over there?" He questioned Ariana, pointing over to the cat.
"Rarwoo" The cat purred as it made it's way back to Waltz sitting at the table. She still didn't notice it was visible to the others, so she let it sit by her elbow giving it a little smile. Not noticing the few stares she received, she just hummed at her table as other not-visible illusions surrounded.
"You know," She said quietly to 'herself', "It's a lot easier when you're not talking to someone."

She asked as she smiled at the girl. Though she loved dogs more than anything else, she still found the cat to be very cute. Ariana wasn't aware that the girl was trying to isolate herself, the emotions floating through the air were too dense to sense this girl's emotions alone.
