You could almost detect a pleasantly surprised expression on her face, either Darren was being polite about the smoking or just a mind reader. Tok was about to jump to the conclusion of 'mind reader' but decided that would be extremely illogical and abandoned that thought. She gave a small nod in response to say I sure hope I'm taking care of him well.
Lucifer moved quickly away from the hand, but cautiously proceeded to inch closer until the tip of his head was almost touching it. The snake stuck it's tongue out a few times, tasting the air and Darren himself. "I've never seen him warm up that fast, he says you taste funny." Tok said, "I don't think that was meant to be an insult."
She had relaxed a lot by now, the conversation wasn't awkward as if could have been. Her eyes were preoccupied by the snow outside, even if she could barely see it, and almost mindlessly talked. "I really do hate the cold too..." She mused. "I'll assume you've heard about the rumors? They make this place less welcoming than the exterior."

Darren waited patiently for the snake to make his move and smiled when he came closer and tasted him. "I've been around a lot of serpants in my life. I'm sure that is why he is being so friendly and why I taste weird to him." He had gotten so used to lying about himself it was second nature.
He was glad to see she was relaxing. It would make her slithery friend calmer too. "I have heard this place is filled with weird and strange people, that monsters roam the halls, and that all who dwell here are not the norm. And I have to agree they are a little off putting." He cracked a smile though at the thought of anything being more of a monster then himself.

"That's not it..." Tok trailed off, then snapping back into focus "... Lucifer said, I mean."
The snake had by now made it's acquaintance to Darren and resting himself back on Tok's shoulder.
She herself didn't care much about why Lucifer was so interested, she bet it was just a strange occurrence. It was bound to happen eventually, the two of them had been through plenty of conversations with mundane people as they made there way to this school.
"And the school is named for blood." She concluded, reciting what other fact she had learned. "I'm surprised the outside world carries so many rumors about this place, don't you think it would just seem like a haunting myth?" Still feels like one. She looked around, seeing the blurs of other people. "Everyone is. Look at you, talking to The Girl who Speaks to Snakes."
Huh.
The girl who talks speaks to snakes. Tok had heard that many times by now, perhaps she should go ahead and join the circus. She always did like those crazy outfits that they wore.

Blaze turned his head slightly at the girl who said hello. He nodded and said, "Hello." He wasnt a very social person, well he wasnt good at being social for the first time. He looked at her and said, "Im Blaze." He held out his hand for her to shake, not knowing if that was the right thing to do in these meeting people situations.
Blaze bet that his hand was a bit hot. It wasnt sweaty or anything, his hands were just usually warm from him using fire. Sometimes his hands got so hot people pulled away if he touched them. Once he touched his sister after practicing and his sister had a burn on where he touched her.

Darren dropped his hand from Lucifer when he moved back to Tok's shoulder. He resumed his postion of leaning against the wall. The snake was interesting as was the girl. She could really hear the snake. While Darren could not really hear the snake he could read the snake's body language. He had been around enough of them and things like them after all. He was curious what the snake was tasting though. If it was the dragon or the smoke demon.
"I hadn't heard that though I am sure there is much about this place that we don't know." He thought about what she had called herself and chuckled. "Hm... Girl Who Speaks to Snakes. That is very interesting. The most interesting name I've ever been given was Smoke Boy. But weird titles or different people do not change my opinions of people or make me not talk to them. As far as I've seen we are all weird here."

the energy from the people in the building was starting to build up on her as gael struggled to maintain her focus. finding it near impossible she grabbed her coat before heading out her door. not wanting to be seen, as most of the people seemed to be grouped in the general lobby Gael headed up to the roof almost running as she fought to keep control and not break down. she hoped that it would not happen frequently and that it would not scare people from her.
it took her all of a minute to make her way to the roof, despite her sprinting as soon as she was out of sight, though each second longer felt like hours, to her shattering control. looking around she smiles in relief before the first wave of energy swamps her, the energy filled with nervousness, dislike, anticipation, and bewilderment, and knocking her to the ground. the temperature dropped almost instantly freezing what water crystals remained in the air, and causing cold lightning to form from the difference in temperature. as the next wave of energy hit her she was again knocked to her knees as sharp ice crystals, sharp enough to draw blood, formed from the ground around her for five feet in all directions.
it was then that the seizures began, her with holding power to much for her and causing her to react violently. fighting her body, and the bloody nose, she straitened up using her powers to melt the ice, and release it into harmless vapor once again. nodding that all was as it should be she made her way down the stairs carefull not to fall with the seizures still wracking her body. she was glad when she got to the lower floor without falling, and even more so when she got to her room with out anyone wiser. ii was at that moment that she realized that she had forgotten her key.
not wanting to go through the lobby full of people with her abilities she was extremely thankful that her checkered pass came in handy. picking the lock with the lock set she always carried with her, she opened her door and walked into her room once again, closing it behind her.

"I wonder if that name has anything to do with cigarettes," Tok mocked a little, a genuine smile formed on her face. In reality she doubted that, like anyone at this school there had be to be a deeper meaning to everything. You wouldn't be here if that wasn't the case. "You sound like you have more of a heart of gold then you appear," She said, "I have a constant change of opinion myself. Depends on whether or not I'm impressed."
It was hard for Tok to accept people at first greeting, she still didn't trust the person before her at all. Darren seemed nice enough and she didn't care exactly who anyone was at the moment. By the end of a few months she planned to leave anyway, right after she got back on her feet. Maybe attend a few classes and ease her curiosity of the school
Tok's mind shifted back to the mysteries of the school for a second, enticing her greatly. "Classes start tomorrow, right?" She asked rhetorically. I think Lucifer and I'll go exploring afterward... Or maybe during classtime

Lanalee glared a bit and then looked at the blonde haired boy that had just commented on her outfit. "This? I always dress like this, since I don't get cold very easily, and practically can't feel cold weather. You'd have to stick me in the Antarctic Ocean during a snowstorm or something...but I can feel heat pretty good. Which is bad."
She then introduced herself. "I'm Lanalee." She stared at his outstretched hand, which was waiting for a handshake. Instead of going for the obvious and shaking his hand, she just looked ahead and kept walking, being stubborn. "Not shaking your hand."

Leon made a mock pouting face at the hand-shaking rejection as he continued to keep up with her walking pace. Apparenly Lanalee didn't like hand-to-hand contact? That probably wasn't it.
"Well you'd probably worry other people like that. It's nice to know you don't freeze, though." He said. Continuing to walk along side her was more tiring then he predicted, the girl was pretty fast. She probably didn't want to socialize, which was natural, but for some reason Leon felt compelled to at least make some form of conversation.
"Come to the right school then have you, Miss Lanalee?" He continued in reference to her talking about now she couldn't feel cold. That was interesting, but who knows, anyone here could be interesting.

She just shrugged. "I guess so. I had nowhere to go anyways." He was still keeping up with her pace, which was slightly faster than before. Lanalee had to observe this guy for a while before he was a friend...but walking down the hallway wouldn't really matter.
"I'm here because I'm a Laboratory-Made Vampire. My "master" or "creator" or whatever you call it died, so I had no family to go back to." She looked at herself. "I could go to the family of the body donor, but that would probably just upset them." Leon looked like a pretty average guy, one you would see on the street and not stare at because they were normal. "So what are you doing in a place like this?"

((Ah, sorry! ;A;
If you're confused, you can always butt into someone's conversation if you need somewhere to join. Nothing's really happening right now, just a few students are getting acquainted with each other (classes start tomorrow). I don't think anyone will mind if you come into the conversation with Darren and Tok, if you want))
Leon was blown away at how honest she was, if she was telling the truth that is. He'd assume people around here would have a little bit of a hard time admitting to anything, like he was. But Lanalee acted different, just admitting to what she was flat out. He took a deep breath out of self-pity, he had no courage to even admit what he thought he was.
"So what are you doing in a place like this?" She had said.
"Thats..." He stopped walking, feeling uneasy at the slightest memory, "That's not something I really want to say."
He picked up his pace again, a little behind Lanalee now. "But I'm sorry about you not having a home anymore, that's gotta be rough." What is a laboratory-made vampire in the first place? He asked himself, completely new to the term. He didn't want to ask, though. For someone who only knew about this strange world a month ago, he felt that knowledge would soon come to him anyways.

(Hehe, no problem. I was just making sure I hadn't typed something without realizing it, or something like that XD)
Cassandra smiled as he introduced himself, "I'm Cassandra. Nice to meet you." She greeted, before shaking his hand. His hands were hot, but she didn't pull away. She didn't want to seem rude or anything.
"So, why are you here. I mean, you must not just be a normal person going here, right. I mean-" Cassandra quickly stopped herself, before she said anything else that was stupid. "I-I'm sorry. I'm not really good with meeting new people." She said with a nervous laugh.

"I suppose that could be it. I knew many people who rather liked my smoking habit. I can blow wonderful smoke rings. Though the name came long before I started smoking. He smiled slightly. He thought about what he was then looked around. This school was for the weird. It made him wonder what this girl infront of him really was. "Ha, see looks are deceiving. No," He touched his arm where the tattoo was. It has a lot more to do with how I look. People can be harsh for even the slightest differences. So I try to act how I wish they had acted." He looked at her and smirked. "Well I hope your impressed with me. At least for now."
Darren watched her. He really did want friends and it seemed like this would be the place for them. But he had thought that at other places too and had been hurt everytime. He would be nice and even flirt slightly with this girl but only because she had been the one to come to him.
"I believe so. I wonder what classes we will have."

Blaze smiled at her and said, "No not normal. I am a demon I think that is what other people call me." He looked at the ground. He didnt like telling people flat out that he was a demon, because most people he knew werent. Blaze knew that there was other people like him, but he had never met one before. He hoped to meet someone like him here so they could understand him. Being a demon was harder then it looked. "How about you?" He said to Cassandra. "Demon, Vampire, mutant." He smiled and said, "Dont worry I am not good at meeting people either."

Cassandra listened as he talked. "I'm not sure about what I am to tell you the truth," She admitted, "I mean, I guess there really not a name for it. I guess I'm just here, yah know." She explained with a slight shrug. It probably sounded stupid to Blaze. A girl who didn't even have a clue with what she was. Cassandra hoped he'd see past it, but many hadn't, so she wouldn't be to surprised or even upset if he'd thought she was stupid.

Kyle smiled after his brother had run out of ways to entertain himself, and had actually fallen asleep. He figured he'd just sneak out for a few minutes. He wanted to explore without having his loud brother interfere. He loved his brother, but every now and then, he wanted peace and quiet. Kyle tip-toed out the door, and sighed hearing the noise level. The idea of peace and quiet had flown (?) out the door.

Did he light forests on fire or something? Tok wondered, thinking that would actually be pretty cool as a pastime. She had only done that once, by accident, and was subjected to solitary confinement at her home after that.
Now she had a slight amount of curiosity about Darren, but knew better then to ask. She would be mortified then to show her true colors in front of another person.
"People are just cruel." She said bluntly, "It's like picking on the fat kid during middle school. Except you replace the fat kid with a cursed monstrosity." She stopped talking there, realizing just what she was saying. Wasn't she just talking about herself? That wasn't necessary, so she stopped and switched topics.
"You're not too big on fighting fire with fire, then." She concluded, "I'll admit I am impressed, at least for now" Tok recited the last part just how Darren had said it with one of those devious smiles that a cocky person would give before a fight.
People around them could have assumed they were challenging each other.
"I certainly hope it's not anything that requires effort, though. They don't even count an attendance." Like that's any safe, She thought. Lucifer agreed, "I think Lucifer and I will just be looking around for the most part. You're welcome to join us if you want." Tok invited, she had to admit it would be less lonely if someone besides Lucifer was around. And if any rumors were true, her snake couldn't protect her as well as the next. Not that Tok was scared or anything. Just... cautious.

"They certainly can be." It seemed that she had had a troubled life too. It looked to be worse then his own. He had spent many years completely seperated from everyone but his mother and then his father. When he had finally been put with humans he was only different because of things he had done to himself. "A pretty thing like you having to deal with people thinking you a monster. Now that is truely horrible."
He laughed at her choice of words. "No I don't find fire to be a good weapon for me." He smiled at her cockiness. "Well that is good to hear."
"I wouldn't really mind effort if it was in something interesting. I would enjoy looking around too. I would prefer not being alone so I might take you up on the offer. Though I have to say I do not look forward to going outside." Darren really didn't want to go outside alone or anywhere he might get too cold. If he got too cold he acted like his cold blooded family. He went to sleep. While he didn't completely trust Tok he would feel better that someone would be around to drag him back in if needed. He hoped that Lucifer would give her second doubts about hurting or leaving him in that case.

Tok's expression could be found between shock and utter disgust, she just didn't know how to react to a compliment. She stuttered, looking like a franticly helpless child for a second. "W-who said we were talking about me?" She replied automatically, she was glad for once that her eyes wouldn't focus on anything. Lucifer was silently laughing at her. "Anyway, fire's just fine if you know how to use it." She said, "Fortunately that's something I should be specialized in, so I'd say that comes easy. Fighting fires with fire, that is." Speaking of which, Tok decided that she would at least try to pick up on fire magic while she was here. In this cold it would prove to be useful, and excelling in it could suppress her snake form even in the slightest. She could still feel the scales on the back of her neck, itching to spread towards her face.
"Oh yeah..." Tok remembered, the snow outside was brutal to anyone. "I'm just hopeful there'd be something inside, there are plenty of other buildings around here." Too bad they all look the same.
"Scared of hypothermia?" She asked.

Darren cursed himself silently. He had said the wrong thing again. "Well no one I guess. It just seemed that you spoke from experience and I doubt you were ever fat so it had to be the monster one." He shrugged, "I'm sorry if I upset you.
He looked at her trying to see the firey spark in her but couldn't see anything. "So you use fire?" He leaned off the wall and turned to face her better. He leaned so that he could look up into her eyes. "That makes me even more curious about you. My mother fought with fire but it seems at least in that one way I take more after my father.
She stood up straight again and looked out the window. "I wish they would have made indoor walkways. I suppose you can say I am. Though I'm more scared of falling asleep in the snow and not getting back up. I doubt I would get frostbite."

She was still in a little bit of frantic shock. "I'm not upset." Tok replied in a rather upset tone. "I-I just wanted to clear that up... that's all." She mumbled, shifting her eyes to the left although it hardly helped the situation. Of course she was originally talking about herself, but her headstrong ways wasn't going to admit that anytime soon. Complaining about the past makes you weak, along with mumbling and stuttering which she was unfortunately guilty of now.
Tok nodded, "I'm supposed to be able to, just like mum, but that good-for-nothing witch just sets my up for failure." It was her mothers fault originally that Tok was stuck in a reptile's body. That stupid old hag... She thought. Tok's mother was far from being old though. She was only 40 now, but retained the looks of a young teen girl due to the snake demon's magic. Her mother, Angeline, would probably longer then her daughter at this rate.
Darren was a little uncomfortably close for Tok, and she was thankful that he moved away before she impulsively slapped him or something. Poor Tok was prone to violence when she wasn't familiar with something.
"Pssh, lucky. I freeze easily." She said, "And so would Lucifer." Snakes, being cold-blooded, would stop moving in this weather then freeze and die in a matter of minutes. Tok would probably be fine, but the less energy she had the harder it was to maintain a human face and body. That would be her biggest fear over dying.
