Blaze smiled and said, "Dont worry I didnt even know I was a demon until I was about 14. The school will hopefully help you figure out what you are. Its much easier once you know your 'species.'" He said. Blaze knew what it was like to be confused, but he could also help the girl because he knew how to get through it. Since he lived in the shadows mostly his whole life, he sort of understood her situation. "So, you have any powers or anything?" He thought that if he knew her power he could maybe guess what she was. Since figuring out he was a demon, he studied mystical creatures. Well to humans they were mystical... but to him, they were real.

Darren wanted to laugh but stopped himself. He knew that would upset her. "Ok, milady. I understand." He realized he had said milady. People no longer said that. Sometimes he slipped with a word, from a time long past, that his mom or dad had said often.
"Hm... you say witch. Is that literally what she is or just a figure of speech? Usually I wouldn't ask but this school is for the different. And I do have a harder time with these figures of speech."
"Oh, I would freeze but I probably wouldn't die from it. Yes the little brotherin do have a problem in this weather." He looked at the snake then the girl and finally around at the school. He knew this was a school for the freaks of the world, for the nonhumans. So why was he still hiding what he was. Because I've never told anyone before. He looked at Tok. I might as well start with one person and she does seem to care for her snake.
"Would you care to know what I am? We all know this school holds no humans. I do find it hard to tell people though as I've never told anyone. After living as a different person and hiding who I was it is harder."

"Milady?" She questioned, looking around the room with a fake surprised expression. "I see no lady here." It was a funny thing to say, Milady, she hoped he wasn't making fun of her.
"Both." Tok replied seriously. "She's a horrible old witch that I never wish to meet again." She had no real problem telling anyone that she was a supposed witch, it eased any curiosity.
Tok bit her lip slightly, actually thinking the question over. By now she was curious. A minute ago she couldn't have cared less, but subtle hints seemed to be dropping here and there. Besides, Lucifer was probably wondering too, since Darren tasted funny. She didn't feel like she had the right to know, and what if Darren was just making something up? She had been around people enough to know the skin deep and inner personality, usually consisting of people who were dishonest underneath. Lucifer would tell her, though, if he sensed any wrong. "I am a bit curious," Tok admitted, "But I wonder why you'll tell me."

Darren blushed slightly. She had noticed his slip. "Sorry, it was a word my father often used. He didn't care for the new terms." Hm... a witch then and from her talking about fire probably one that specializes in it. "I am sorry to hear about your relationship with your mother." He did mean it too. While he hadn't seen or spoken with his true parents in years he knew they loved him.
"Well I think it has more to do with Lucifer there. I can tell you really care about him. Plus your the first person that has ever talked to me for more then a few minutes and it has been nice." He paused trying to think of how he should tell her but having no experience he decided a straight answer would be best. "I am a dragon. Well I'm only half dragon but I share most of my abilities with my mother so I think of myself as a dragon. My father is a smoke demon."

Well, good, he wasn't making fun over her. He actually looked embarrassed at using that word, although Tok couldn't tell very well since she couldn't see his face.
"Heh. You don't need to be sorry." Tok said, "It's my hate, not hers." Unlike the rest of the people in her village, her mother absolutely adored her. Whatever she did, though, Tok would deny her of. Like how when she was younger Angeline would braid little Tok's hair constantly, so Tok cut it off. Or the time where she brought home a pet bird for her daughter, and Tok killed it. Whatever Angeline did was bad in her daughter's eyes, and Tok wouldn't accept help from someone like that.
"talked to me for more then a few minutes and it has been nice"
Tok pondered that for a second. She herself had never really spoken to anyone for this long before, it felt a little bit like a weight was lifted. In fact, just being around people, even if she was only talking to one at the moment, seemed a little relaxing.
Yeah, that's right the girl thought, I bet there are people here with a similar problem as myself. She was still going to have a hard time trusting what anyone said, though. That wasn't going to change, but talking to people couldn't hurt.
"A dragon..." She repeated, looking up with her blurred vision. Lucifer whispered, telling Tok there wasn't a lie. "I sure couldn't have guessed that. Why do you look like a human, though?" The last question was more for her own sake.

Darren nodded and accepted what she said. It wasn't his place to pry more.
He looked down at himself. Many people wondered about his form. "All dragons can shift their forms. Most can become human and some can even change to other animals." He could leave it at that but decided to continue. "The reason I am in this form and not a dragon with my mother is because it seems that dragon and demon blood doesn't mix perfectly. I have to stay in this form most of the time because of that."

((I wonder where everyone else went... :|))
Oh. So apparently Darren wasn't a human because he wished to be. Strange, Tok would give anything to have a semi-permanent form like that. "That's strange." She said, "It's different then fairytale dragons then. I can't imagine you at all any taller then now." She said, noticing the height difference between the two of them. Tok was tiny by genetics, and probably wasn't going to get passed 5'2 in her lifetime.
Tok paused, looking around. How late had it gotten? People had gotten hear around noon, and she couldn't tell from the snow outside if she could even see it. "Oi, do you have a watch or something? I think it might be getting late." The sky hadn't even begun to darken, it was always just a cloudy grey.

((Ah! Sorry for disappearing, everyone. >.<'' I could've sworn that I subscribed to this thread.))
Aysel, now settled, peeked her head out of her room slowly, not wishing to repeat her past mistake by meeting someone via almost walking right into them. Seeing no one, she took a deep breath, tucked a stray lock of heair behind her ear, then stepped into the hallway, closing her dorm's door behind her. Off in one direction, she heard two voices conversing, so she instead took the path leading in the other direction. She was somewhat shy when it came to meeting new people, but that wasn't her reason for wishing to go around another way. Aysel simply wanted to explore. Heading off fown the hallway slowly, softly humming a little tune, she began to mentally map out the building that they were in.

"Most dragons are though it is best for us that it is. I would hate having to eat maidens and have a knight come riding up on a white steed to kill me." Darren thought about his height. He was rather tall in this form coming to 6 feet. The height advantage did not translate to his dragon form. "In my dragon form I'm actually kind of small since I am still very young. I'm a little bit under 12 feet."
He looked out the window again. "I don't have a watch on me. I left my pocketwatch in my bag. Though I think your right. It should be about time for food. My stomach never lies about that."

Tok was actually a bit disappointed. "Not a giant beast from the middle ages? Now I just feel lied to all my life." She pouted, holding her head high in an upset lady's manor, in contradiction to what she said before.
"I guess it would be... But I don't know where they'd serve anything close to a meal." Tok was hungry herself, now that she noticed, she hadn't actually eaten anything since she was on the train this morning.
Damn all these buildings looking the same! They certainly wouldn't have students going out and buying groceries at the nearest train station, would they?
Tok sighed, that was probably the case if there wasn't a cafeteria. She couldn't cook for herself if the world depended on it, either.
((Hey... there should be a cafeteria on campus, right?))

"Oh there are a few like that. I have an uncle who fits that role. Though he doesn't eat many people. He does have the gold hoard and even had a knight come after him back in the day. Though, as he tells the story, the knight ended up not trying to kill him because he happened upon him while he was in human form. Instead they ended up in a relationship. Mother told me this was true and that their parents were so upset. He had a relationship with a human and not any human but a knight and a male." He shook his head then smiled. "He always had the best stories."
"They have to plan on feeding us. I'm sure there is a cafeteria somewhere. They can't expect us to cook. If they do they might end up losing all their wild life around here. My family might have hoards of gold but I'm broke. I'll have to change forms and start eating deer and other furry things."
((I would guess so. I'm hoping it is close to their rooms. Miniumize the time outside in the morning before breakfast. lol))

"Interesting family." She commented, thinking the senario over in her head. It could have been the plot of a comedy.
She looked out to the window for about the 10th time in the whole conversation, shivering at the thought of going out there again. The wind still didn't look like it was settling. "Good luck finding wildlife out there..." She mused. "And since there are no school fees here I bet they wouldn't give free meals." Got to make money somehow. Tok thought. The train station 'guides', who were the ones who directed students to the school, had not only warned about the rumors but how in the winter you're basically trapped in snowstorms. If the weather is mild, however, you could go to the train station easily.
"I think we could try the next building over, it had lights on." Tok suggested, "They'll probably give some information as well. But... I'll definitely need my coat again."
((I say i'd be close to the dorms, that would make sense.... I think I should draw a map of this place))

"Ah.. ah... ACHOO!!" Riku sneezed as she heard the familiar tingle and pop coming from her back. The blonde glanced behind her and saw those familiar wings on her back and sighed in discomfort. Riku wore a cute little black and white outfit and she was freezing like crazy. It wasn't her fault for wearing thin clothing. Actually, it was her chauffeur's fault. He dropped her off in the middle of nowhere TWO MILES away from the school. The driver said that he was afraid that he would be cursed by the school if he got any closer, If I was a dark angel you would've been cursed by me Riku thought as she heard her teeth chatter.
Soon Riku finally saw a big castle-like building and cheered, then she sneezed. As the little blonde walked in she saw a bunch of people talking and becoming friends. Riku saw two people one holding a snake and the other smoking. She thought that they were a strange combination. All of a sudden Riku felt a little tickle inside her nose and felt her throat getting a little bit warmer than usual. Uh-oh... "Ah.. ah.. CHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" soon flames came out of her mouth as she sneezed. When Riku finished she blushed a bright red and noticed that her fire didn't harm anything or anyone. She sighed in relief then realized that she must have caused a huge commotion. NOOOOOOO!!!
Haru flew slowly towards the school and felt his necklace dangle on his neck. He reached up and held it in his hand feeling the heat radiating off the necklace. Haru didn't really want to go to the school that day just because he is really lazy. But he had to go. No matter what. Soon he saw the grand old school and saw a young blonde girl running into the building. Haru slowly flew down towards the ground and went inside but before he did that he saw the girl breathing fire and he kind of... flinched.

Snakes happened to be very quick-reflexed people, and even though she was a klutz Tok was no exception. At the first feeling of a warmth she whipped around violently, waving her hand to expel the flame that appeared to have come out of a girl's mouth. Nobody was harmed, and neither was the wood flooring, fortunately. Why does this place even have wood floors in the first place? Tok wondered. Lucifer hid himself in her thin indoor jacket, poking his little head out.
"You there, girl." Tok pointed to her, but her aim was a little off and was actually pointing at the wall. She didn't notice. "That could've hurt someone." She wasn't trying to be mean, just flat out state the facts. It did sound like she was saying a command at first, though. Tok wasn't the nicest greeter, as was shown before.

"That is true. I think any family would get interesting though if the members had been alive as long as mine has." He laughed. His family had always just seemed weird.
He grew sad at the mention of no free food. "Thanks but I'm sure I'll find something. Well maybe I can figure out someway to make money. I am an alright cook. I blame that on taking lots of home ec classes since they were the simplest." He thought about the layout of the school. "Sounds good to me. I'll have to get my coat too."
He turned at the feeling of fire. It was kind of nice. Too bad there wasn't a fireplace. He saw that it had come from a new woman. Tok had turned and apparently dismissed the fire. She seemed a bit upset.

When Riku heard the snake girl's remark, she blushed even harder and bowed her head, [B]"I am so sorry!! I can't really control my powers while I'm sick." Riku felt her wings pop out again from embarrassment. Riku wanted to murder herself right there, if this was the Sims 3 she would lower the hunger bar to zero and starve herself to death. Riku, you're overreacting. Everybody would forget this sooner or later but looking at the snake girl's face, Riku seemed to have made a very bad impression on her."I'm sorry!"
Haru stepped in front of the blonde and greeted the snake girl with a laid-back smile. "Don't be so hard on the poor thing. She just caught a cold."

((Sims3 reference ftw~! ^^ I play that game like it's life))
Tok's eyes narrowed, looking more pissed then before. She wasn't angry at either of them, just the flames themselves. If they had gotten close enough to touch her the sudden rush could have triggered a snake-form, so it was only natural she'd get slightly angry at the girl. The boy protecting her was a different story, just adding 'fuel to the fire' in this case, and his smile just irked her slightly. She could see it just fine, though the rest of the face was a blur.
Tok remained calm though, admitting to herself that she was overreacting. "Ch," It's our fault for wearing and outfit like that She was going so say, but refrained. "Try to keep yourself under better control next time, and put a jacket on." She said, turning back around to get something out of her jacket pocket. Taking a bottle cold relief medication she through it to the boy since he was close. She motioned to give it to the now winged girl. "That should work." She said before directing her attention to Darren.
"Sorry about that." She mumbled, Mumbling again? Tok thought to herself.
"I can't cook at all." Tok said, admiring that Darren could. "You've taken home ec classes?

Darren smiled when Tok tossed meds to the guy for the new girl. "That's fine. Things happen. And yeah I have. I know pretty much everything about kids, adult living. I can cook and I can even sew. I spent one semester making quilts." He paused and thought for a moment. "Hm.. I wonder if the other students know how to cook? Maybe I could make a little money cooking for people."

((I drew a really crappy map for you all, it should give at least a basic overview of the school and stuff)
Stuff like this does happen, doesn't it? Tok thought. She really couldn't get mad at any of them, and by now she had calmed down. It was a slight case of the girl getting wound up in a situation, and stressed about her appearance.
"If you want a business to thrive you'd better hope lots of people at this school are like me." I'm sure I could burn water if I tried. "You don't seem like the kind of guy who'd do something like that. Especially with the quilts." Tok said, letting out a small giggle. A lot different then her first impression of Darren, she could imagine him in an apron on a cooking show by now. It was a funny thought.

((Lol!! I love playing the Sims3, I'm totally addicted to it :) ))
Haru caught the medicine with ease and popped it open and handed it to the blonde like she was a little girl, which she is in a way. The young girl took the medicine and murmured a thank you as she popped the medicine in her mouth. She seems interesting.... Haru thought as he saw the young girl walk away. When the girl left he decided to butt into the snake girl's conversation with the man who was smoking. "Er, hi, do you guys mind if I join the conversation?"
As Riku left the boy who stood up for her, she started to blush a deep red again. No guy has ever done that for her, actually nobody has ever stood up for her. The young fallen angel felt a little bit happier and saw a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes talking to a pale girl with long black hair held in pigtails. She approached to them feeling a little bit confident, "Um, hi, I'm Riku."

Tok was startled when that same boy came back up to them. She had thought he left with the other girl, apparently not. Although calm, she was still a bit upset with him for no explainable reason.
"I don't see why not," She said, trying her best to be polite, "We're thinking about finding a cafeteria somewhere in this snow. I'm Tok," Tok said, pointing at herself, "You?" asking for his name. By all means, she should learn it. Perhaps she could learn to tolerate more then one person today. Wouldn't that be an accomplishment.
"Well hello there, Miss." Leon said, "I was just trying to get Lanalee over here to start talking, but do you need something?" He asked. He admired the girl's confidence for approaching, since he was walking pretty fast to keep with with Lanalee. This new girl seemed pretty nice, a little uncomfortable with the situation though.

((I like the map.))
"I probably wouldn't make much but it couldn't hurt." He shrugged. It didn't really matter he could find money some way. If he had too he could send a note to his mother. "Yeah, I know I don't seem the part but those classes are the only reason I didn't fail out of school. Plus I kind of grew to like them. It does help that in almost all of them I was the only male in class. And the quilts were easy. Simple straight lines. Lots of cutting but an easy way to make a grade. It was a nice time to think." He shrugged again. The quilts had also made him a bit of money. He had made enough in class, where supplies were free, and had made around a hundred dollars on each quilt that he managed to save a bit. He had a soft spot though so he had donated most of that. The remainder had bought him clothes, smokes, and paid for his way here.
He turned to look at the man when he came over. "Not at all. My name is Darren."

((Thanks for the map. :) I find it really helpful.))
Aysel eventually made it around to the entrance once more, shivering a little at the mere thought of returning back outside, and quite frankly, wishing she could just stay in the dorm building. However, with the small grumbling noises coming from her stomach told her otherwise, leading her to want to find food, wherever that may be on this campus. Hesitantly, she opened the front door, slipping out into the cold once more. This time, concentrating so that as she walked to the next building in the complex, a narrow trail of the snow in her path would move aside to give way for her. After all, snow is made of water... Noticing that the school was surrounded by at least some kind of water was a great comfort to her, which she was vary appreciative of as she made her way over to the closest building on her quest to find the cafeteria.

Haru nodded at both Tok and Darren, "I'm Haru. Nice to meet you." he glanced at the snake girl and felt like he sort of ticked her off. Is it because I stood up for that little girl? Haru thought, if it was then he should apologize. Even though it wasn't his fault, or so he thinks. But the tengu wants to make some friends and he decided it should be those two. "So, what brings you two here?"
Rika grinned at Leon and Lanalee, "Um, actually I just wanted to join in on your guys' conversation that's all." she took down her hoodie showing her short blonde hair. "So er, what are you guys anyways?"

((don't worry, it happens every time I try to post))
Strange question. Why was she really here? Of course, Tok had gone over the reasons in her head multiple times. To escape her mother, those villagers, and just to pass the time. But then a strange thought pushed itself into her mind, what if she had come here just to feel accepted? No, that can't be it. She thought, shaking the thought out of her head. Some reason like that was weak, and she wouldn't admit it to herself.
"I'm here to explore," She answered Haru, "It's not like I need to attend any classes."
She turned to attention shortly back to Darren, "Some soft side you have then, huh?" She said. He turned out to be more interesting then she had thought before. A dragon who made quilts during school, it would seem a little strange to anyone.
Then Tok remembered from the growling of her stomach, "Cafeteria. Right." She said, noting off what they had actually planned to do beforehand. "Get your coat again, Haru, your coming along." It was in invitation, but by now Tok had become hungry enough that whatever she said or asked could have been a command. She walked back to her dorm to find her overcoat.
Leon stopped, letting Lanalee keep walking to wherever she was going. He had the feeling she wasn't really in the mood to talk anyway, and whenever he saw her again he would try once again to pick up a conversation.
"She can come back when she wants." He explained, treating the vampire as if she was a cat. He turned back to the new blonde girl, Rika. "I'll assume you're new here too then, Rika. I'm--" He couldn't say it. Leon wouldn't answer when Lanalee asked him why he was here, and it was still hard for him to admit what he was entirely. "A shapeshifter, I suppose. My name's Leon." He finished. It was a good enough answer, even though he could only change into one thing. It seemed everyone here was pretty open, so he asked, "You?"
