Darren nodded and ran off to his room. He grabbed his coat and gloves before running back. He threw them both on then responded to the questions. "I came here because of my parents. I got the letter and threw it away and somehow my true mother and father got it. Sending very angry messages I got the message that coming here would be best for me. Apparently they like the idea of me being around people like me and leaving the humans." He laughed thinking about it. His mother had burned down a vacant building in town and his father had sent a heavy smoke all over town. He really couldn't care less where he was.

He turned to Tok. "You would think that huh? Some guys at my last school thought that and decided I would be easy to mess with. After breaking a few noses and one arm I think they learned there isn't much soft about me." He really was sweet but he was still a bit off. When those boys had come to him they had called him names and tried to start a fight. They could tell he was different but they had guessed wrong and assumed he was gay. He had gotten in trouble at home but no one could prove he had hurt the boys so he hadn't gotten in trouble anywhere else.

"Food sounds great. I'm ready."

Haru nodded and followed Tok's orders. When he came into the building he really didn't have a coat, he was pretty much used to the cold anyways. Haru thought about Tok's and Darren's answers to his question and then thought about his answer. What was he here for? Then Haru remembered, it was kind of a stupid reason but he just wanted to fit in and have friends. The tengu didn't dare to tell that to his new friends because then that wouldn't even fit with his character. So instead Haru said, "I'm here so I wouldn't get bored, I mean, I haven't been to a school before so this would be interesting."

Rika giggled at Leon's remark about Lanalee coming back, then she thought about when she had a cat before she turned into a fallen angel. That cat was pretty cool. thought Rika sighing about the cat, ever since the scientists messed with her body, animals have been avoiding her and hissing at her just because they sensed she was dangerous. "So you're a shapeshifter? I'm a fallen angel, or an artificial angel." Rika replied shrugging, then her small black wings popped out.

"Good enough answer for me." Tok said regarding Haru's reasoning. She came back form her dorm with a large puffy coat on. "Let's go!"
They all headed out into the snow. While Haru seemed to be fine, Tok appeared to be facing one of the greatest challenges of her life. The wind had died down faintly from the time she had come in, but her blurred vision only allowed to to see the lights ahead of her and the grey/white of the snow.
"If you wanted to avoid physical fighting you should have avoided going to school in general," Tok said to Darren between the chatters of her teeth. "I personally don't see why classes are needed, maybe that was only because I was home-schooled. Technically." She said. Feeling the scales inch front her neck she sped up her pace. The building wasn't actually as far away as she thought, only a few yards away from the entrance. It smelled nice, like someone was cooking. "Yep, that's definitely it." She said, pointing toward the light.

"I can see that," Leon smiled, noticing Rika's black wings. "Apparently all the people I've been running into are "artificial", if you don't mind me using that term, I think it's a popular thing among splicers these days..." 'Splicer', in referring to mixing genes together. Some people were called that back at Children of the Zodiac, he remembered, probably wasn't for the same reason though. "But you seem a lot more kind then I've noticed other people around here seem. I guess it's how you're raised that matters." He mused.

Haru glanced at Tok and noticed her teeth was chattering, and while she was talking to Darren her voice was a little shaky. Haru was about to give her his jacket but the cafeteria wasn't far away, so he decided not to. Haru turned towards Darren with his arms behind his back, "I wish I was there to see you beat up those guys. Must've been a nice sight to see." soon the smell of barbecue started to fill up in his nose and he heard his stomach growl. Well, that was nice. Haru thought as he kind of blushed a little bit.

Rika shook her head when Leon used the term "artificial" for people like her and told him it was fine. "It doesn't hurt as much as it used to." the short blonde said making her wings disappear. Rika blushed and lowered her head a little after hearing Leon's compliment and remark about how people are raised and how they act. You're wrong. Rika thought, It all depends on how good you can cover up your past and how good you can lie about it. "You're right. I've met some people who have bad attitudes because they were raised in a bad environment." Rika looked up again trying to change the subject, "So if you're a shapeshifter, what kinds of beings can you change into?"

Aysel was startled to suddenly hear numerous voices behind her, the trial before her that was clear of snow disappearing as she lost her concentration. She glanced behind her, noticing only one of the other students of the group as Tok, whom she had nearly wlaked into earlier. She turned right back around and continued her walking, but since they were only a couple yards behind her, once she reached and opened the door, she would hold it open for the group of them, the smell of food drifting out and tickling her nose. My God, that smells amazing... I can't wait to eat!

Darren walked through the cold with his shoulders pushed up trying to block the cold. His leather jacket was warm but he was going to have to make some armwarmers or start wearing long sleeved shirts. "Boredom is a good thing to try to get away from."

He turned to look at Tok. "I would have prefered not hurting them but I will not let people bully me. And I have no choice in school. I can not stay with my mother because of my current form and my father could not keep me for long because of my mother. They both agreed that I should be schooled. It is hard enough trying to disobey one's parents. Even harder when one parent can eat you. I would much rather deal with human bullies then my parents."

He turned back to Haru. "Not really. They were expecting an attack. They thought I would back down. That I would cry and run. Breaking a nose is easy. I snapped the boy's arm when he tried to hit me to protect his friends. I lost my temper. I'm just glad I didn't shift. It would have made eating meat hard for awhile." He sniffed the air and noticed that meat was being cooked.

Tok noticed a shape up ahead, probably another person. She couldn't tell with her horrible vision who it was right now, but they were kind enough to open the door for them.
"Ah, now there's a description you fit." She commented after listening to Darren explain to Haru. "You could be leading a double life by now. Bullying is pathetic, though, I understand at least that." The snake girl said as they were nearing the cafeteria building. Tok was a very prideful girl, she wouldn't dare let anyone bully her either. Not anymore. For years she underwent verbal and physical abuse from scared witches, unable to fight back due to the fear of being killed. If she had even touched anyone in a frightening manor the main council of the village would have murdered her. So, doing what anyone else who valued their life would, she took the pain.
Ha, I'm not going to accept that anymore, she thought. "Well, you being here now pleases your parents, right?" She asked Darren before walking inside. Then added, "It's so warm in here... We meet again, Aysel." Tok said, finally being able to see the girl's face.

Rika seemed to be changing the subject quickly, Had I said something wrong? Leon stopped thinking about that. If he did he hoped he hadn't said anything offensive.
"Just a lion. Well, almost a lion." He said, "I'm not very good at any sort of shifting. It's uncomfortable too." And he wasn't planning on practicing anytime soon until he was more comfortable with his surroundings.

[[Ahh sorry for not being on a long time I got banned from my laptop. :O Can someone catch me up on what happened?]]

Darren smiled at the girl holding open the door. "Thank you miss."

"Yes, they are happy now. They wanted me in some place with people that are different. Someplace that if they showed up they would not be attacked." He sighed in relief as the heat melted into him. He took a moment in the too hotness of the coat then pulled it off. He pulled off the gloves and stuck them in his pockets before replacing them with the fingerless gloves he loved.

((Not much happened. Leon stopped to talk to Rika, although Lanalee can join back in any second if you wish. Tok, Aysel, Darren, and Haru are at the cafeteria. I drew a map. Basically that just about sums it up 8D))

As Haru walked in the cafeteria he sniffed the good meaty air and felt his eyes being covered in a fog as he started to daydream of meat. He hadn't had meat for so long, all he ever had was fruits and vegetables because of his old roommate being a vegetarian. While he daydreamed, he accidentally ignored the girl who was holding the door for him and ran into a table knocking himself down. "Whoa.. what just happened?"

Rika grinned at the thought seeing an almost lion, she thought of seeing Leon transforming into a lion plush toy. "Oh I see. It's the same for me too. Popping my wings all the time and using them too long makes me feel sick. That's why I didn't even bother flying over here." Rika replied with a little shrug. Then she heard her stomach growl again, "Um lets invite Lanalee to come eat with us!"

"Hm.. I do believe you were destracted by food, you were rude to our kind helper, and you walked into a table." Darren almost laughed at the man. The food did smell really good though. He cracked his knuckles. Meat always made him feel like ripping something apart.

Aysel would grin at Tok as she entered, nodding at her in reply, "Hi, Tok." To Darren, she'd also grin, but say nothing, only letting the door close after everyone had come through. Pulling her braids closer to her neck, just to ensure that her gills were again hidden, she'd look around the cafeteria and the people in it briefly before thinking about finally getting some food. Whatever they have cooking... it's got to be good. Taking a deep breath, she smiled as she smelt whatever meat was cooking, before walking over to get food.

Tok wasn't really paying any attention to anyone else at the moment. She remembered the scales that had made their way near her face, they weren't showing now, where they? She grabbed her neck instinctively, taking a deep breath and getting rid of any that might have been there. "This is why I need a scarf," She whispered aloud to herself, then turning back to the rest of the people.
"I think everyone is just much to hungry." Her stomach groaned uncomfortably again. The lunch room looked, just like the dormitory entrance hall, very warm an welcoming. Most of it consisted of beige walls and dark metal/wood tables, along with what looked like a very old lady with a missing eye cooking up the food and serving it in the back. Tok inched forward, almost not knowing if she should, but then managed to walk over to where the food was. There was a very minimal selection, but she ended up taking the fried pork and rice option, taking a tray and sitting herself at one of the tables.

"You'll learn," Leon ensured her, "If I'm right It'll be easier with time." It made the most sense, perhaps he could just get better at his shifting for an emergency without showing anyone his form. If he could, he would.
"If she wants to, lets." He said, grabbing Rika's hand as he ran over to catch up with the still wondering Lanalee, "Wanna go eat lunch?" He asked the vampire, already guessing the response.

Darren walked over to look at the food. Everything looked good but instead of taking the meat that smelled so good he looked over the other food. Finally he got himself rice, cooked vegetables, and grabbed two apples. He did get large portions of the first two though. He sneered at the meat before walking over to sit next to Tok. He sniffed the food carefully before starting to eat. It didn't smell like meat so they must have been vegitarian options. He smiled then started eating. Man, I miss meat. Maybe I'll eat a little tomorrow.

noticing that the energy was subsiding gael woke up from her fitful sleep that she had managed to achieve as the temperature within her room began to quickly rise again. feeling better she frowns to herself as her stomach growl but knowing that it would be worse on her if she didnt eat, she stood, and making sure to grab her key headed into the lobby. passing a group of three people she heads outside sighing in relief as the cold nulls her senses some.

realizing that the cafeteria now has quite a few people with in it Gael bit her lip before stealing herself and walking in, resolving to sit outside at one of the tables there. "thank god i can barely feel the cold" she thinks to herself as she walks inside and picks up her tray. grabbing some vegetables and some water she then made her way to the seafood section picking out her choices before heading back outside, as quickly as her legs could carry her, almost sprinting for the door.

Tok looked over at Darren's food choice, she honestly had not been expecting that. "Going vegetarian?" She asked, assuming that wasn't a regular diet. She herself was raised to depend on vegetables and fruits instead of meats, since witches where she came from were supposedly in-tuned with nature. Young Tok, however, needed something else in her system to quiet her demonic curse. Thus, the village people thought it would be acceptable to force the girl into eating the rats that plagued the village.
Tok shuttered a little bit. To this day she couldn't look at or even imagine rodents, emotional scares were still that deep.
Decided not to loose her appetite over this she started eating. "I'd expect you to get something a little more heavy then rice and some veggies." She continued. In the corner of her eye Tok saw someone run back outside, which she thought wasn't only strange but also stupid. Wouldn't the freeze? Then again, there were some unique people at this school, not all of them were cold-blooded.

As soon as Haru heard what happened his cheeks were tinted red and walked up to the girl who held the door for him. "Sorry about that miss." the tengu said gently and walked over to the tables where the food was held on. Haru immediately went to the meat table and got him a big piece of juicy steak, saucy ribs and fried chicken. Next, he walked over to get some fruit and suprisingly no veggies. When he was done he went to sit by Darren and started eating like a gentleman.

Darren sighed when he scented what Haru was bringing to the table. He turned to look at Tok as he started eating. "No, not really. Though the last few years I've mainly ate that way. I love meat. What dragon doesn't? In this form eating meat has a little negative effect on me though. It makes me give in more to my dragon side. Makes me angrier and more likely to attack. I just thought I should try to stay civil as long as I can. It also makes me more susceptible to the cold and falling asleep. I want to get used to the land before I eat meat." He sighed though as he really wanted it. He had stopped eating meat when he had to go to school. So he only ate meat during summer breaks.

Aysel looked over the food hungrily, taking her time to make up a plate that consisted mostly of veggies and fruit, though adding a small bit of meat and rice afterwards. She was surprised when the boy who had walked into the table approached her, grinning in reply, "It's quite alright." She would grab a drink before heading over to take a seat. She would sit near the others, but still minded her own space. Tucking one of her braids behind one of her ears, she'd began eating quietly, a napkin neatly folded over her lap.

Poor guy, especially since Haru had a plate full of the discussed food.
"Well you look like a recovering drug addict," She commented, noting his longing sigh. "I respect your decision, I wouldn't want you to go blood-crazy on us." Tok let Lucifer off from her shoulder and roam free on the table with a piece of pork in it's mouth. The snake would basically eat anything, and swallowed the meat whole without a second thought.
"And Haru, if you're not planning on going to classes tomorrow you can come along exploring." She said, by now it was the more the merrier. "Perhaps I could find someone else to go, too." Tok looked around the room for a possible candidate. There weren't many people, including that other person who ran outside. Speaking of which, was that a boy or a girl?
Whichever, then, Tok decided. If she couldn't find anyone today she'd ask around tomorrow morning.

Darren sighed again. "I probably wouldn't hurt anyone but there would be more a chance I would start a fight or simply go off in the woods and find some fresher meat to eat." He watched the snake roam around on the table and put down a chunk of carrot incase he was still hungry. "I'm used to eating like this so it really isn't a big deal." He looked over at the other girl and smiled. They would end up with the entire school skipping classes.

"Why not?" Lanalee shrugged, and agreed to having lunch with Rika and Leon. Walking to the cafeteria with the angel and the shapeshifter, she wondered what other types of people there were here. "I don't eat much though..." Lanalee peered at the different choices of food as she entered the room. There was meats, vegetable, fish, fruit. Well, basically the whole entire food pyramid was there. But it didn't really look all that appetizing to Lanalee. What she really needed was a nice drink of blood, since she hadn't had any in a few months now. Sighing, she turned to look at the two she had walked with. "I'll go grab a table and a drink or something while you guys buy, 'kay?"

"Roger that." Leon said, giving a small salut as he looked over the menu options. He wanted a balanced diet, so he ended up taking the raw vegetables, a roll, and a cut of steak which looked a little odd but still smelled great. He could see Lanalee was a bit disappointed at something, probably because she was a vampire or something of the sorts. They wouldn't give out blood in a cafeteria, no matter what kind of students attended the school.
"They have a surprisingly good food selection for some place in the middle of nowhere, don't they?" He said to Rika.

Being in a fight, huh? Tok thought to herself. She hadn't gotten in many fights that really counted, and actually found the thought of one thrilling. She'd be more likely to watch then actually join in though, not wanting to ruin her complexion on any way. It was sort of a complex of hers, to keep herself looking as good and human as possible. Tok fretted about the whole snake-thing constantly she was almost annoyed at herself. Just accept it and move on! She thought.
"Well I think we can all hope you'll get used to the school in the meantime, so you won't have to sniff longingly at the meat selection." She laughed, keeping her voice low. She still wasn't comfortable with speaking too loud.

Darren thought about it for a moment. "My body should adjust to the cold in a week so that I don't feel like I'm freezing all the time. Then I will not have to worry about it making me fall asleep outside. And It shouldn't take more then a few days to get used to the people. So I'll probably try a little meat tomorrow. I probably don't make good company sniffing all over everyone's food like a hungry dog." He laughed. If he shifted he would literally look like a hungry dog or really a hungry dragon acting like a dog.

He looked around and really took in the knowledge that everyone here wasn't human. I might go out later and fly for a bit. I haven't changed for a good fly for over a year.
