Tahirah was sitting in a corner of the cafeteria. She was idly drinking from a glass of hot chocolate while reading through a text about magic control. As of late she had been frustrated by the limitations of her powers, without finely tuned control she was unable to master all but the simplest of puppets. She'd become skilled at making them but not using them.

Tahirah set down the book for a momment and sighed. The passages were taxing and boring. She felt unexplainably lonely. A feeling that was striking her often as of late. Her cold remarks scared off any possible confidents.

"Well I'm sure they have something caffinated here at the school," Hikari said, walking out of the room, "And if not we could always teleport somewhere to get something..."

"no," the cat interjected, "staying in the school is safer... especially with all the teachers around."

"ok, now that, thats out of the question..lets go." he said following her out, and down the hall. He stayed close, and tried to keep his eyes open. He was soo tiard at that moment, but had to stay up, for her safty

she reached back grabbing his hand, pulling him up next to her, than walked down the stairs, "I figured it would be... just making Histra worry some more." she laughed, "It's probably safer if we stick close together."

He smiled "sounds good to me" he said grabbing her hand back as they went down the stairs. "what do you think is going to happen next?" he asked, not really knowing what would become of them being partners now, and the whole demon thing

"I don't know.." she said as they came off onto teh floor with the cafeteria, "I know that it will be busy, the organization trains almost every weekend..." she said with a smile, "So we'll be hanging out a lot." as they walked towards the cafeteria, the school was completely quiet, the smell of freshly baking cookies could be smelled. "I think we may be able to get a midnight snack as well."

He smiled, and squeezed her hand a little. "food does sound good right now too." he said as they walked in through the doors to the cafeteria. There was a bunch of cookies on the table in front to the doors.

She looked around the cafeteria, checking the number of people in the room, there was only about 5 including themselves, "Pizza and cookies, interesting dinner." she said jokingly, "I wonder if the teachers are going to kick us out of here tonight, room time is at 1am right?" she started towards the coffee first.

histra looked around they will more than likely be safe here she thought to herself, the smell of cookies was driving her nuts, "I'm going to get the report for you... stay here!"

"what report?" he asked her as he stayed with, not letting go of her hand. The coffee smelled good, and so did the cookies.

the cat stopped, turning breifly to look at them, "the report the organization is going to give after their meeting," she said than turned to trot off.

Hakira giggled for a moment, "Don't mind Hist, she's a little snobby sometimes." she said yawning than grabbing a couple cups for coffee, "She always gets a seat at the meetings though for some reason so we'll hear about the happenings before anyone else so it kinda balances."

He chuckled. He grabbed some coffee as well, and sat down at a nearby table. There was a sound of a mouse. He looked over, and seen the little thing running accost the cafeteria floor. And he could slightly hear a voice, that was jabbering about cheese. "hey, you hear that?" he asked

"Hear what?" she asked, she hadn't noticed anything out of the ordinary, "Was it a good thing or a bad thing?" her voice was masking concern.

He followed the mouse with his eyes, and it was heading toward them."its not bad....STOP!" he said going from a point to a command toward the mouse. The mouse stopped right at their feet, and looked up what do you want? "hakira, look down at my right foot.." he said bending down toward the mouse. "i can hear him talking...." he was confused, and so was the mouse.

Hikari looked down seeing the mouse, she tucked her feet up under herself, "You hear it talking?" she asked, "you mean like Histra and me when you first met her? but how is that possible... I mean that's different, unless he's supposed to belong to you.."

"i don't know.." he said reaching to grab the mouse. Let me help.. the mouse said an jumped into his hand. He placed the little thing on the table. "you have a name?" he asked the mouse yea, squeakers, but you can call me squeaks "his names squeaks" he said with a smile.

She blinked looking at the mouse, "Squeaks," she said, "Thats an interesting name... Should we feed it or something?" she picked up her coffee cup, and took a sip, "what do we do with it?"

"I don't know, I just heard him talking and got excited" he said and chuckled. He placed the mouse on the table. you hungry? he asked the mouse yea, you got cheese? squeakers replied. "you know where we can get some cheese?" he asked looking at her.

Hikari stood up, "I can go look... they might have soem back in teh kitchen... and I didn't see any rules against students going into the kitchen." she said, "do you want to come or wait?"

Without a second to loose the mouse run back to his hand. "i take it we are going." he said adn got up to follow.

She laughed, "well thats a good thing than." she said, she got a little bit of a puzzled look, "I wonder why only you can here it? I wonder if you can hear all mice?" she walked to the opposite side of the table, to stand next to him than started towards the kitchen. She looked at the mouse closely, "He's really cute."

Histra walked into the main hall, the room was filled with tables and chairs, and the council sitting around it. The headsmaster being the first to greet her.

"so you came even though the situation." he said choosing his words carefully.

"I had to make sure the organization listened to my request." she replied in her posh voice.

"The meeting is about to begin.." he said as Histra jumped to his lap, it will be interesting."

The mouse squeaked Thanks "he says thanks." he didn't know why the mouse could speak to him, or if he could talk to other mice. He was just glad that he could talk to something, like she could.

They got into the kitchen and there were 2 fridges "you take one, and we will take the other," he said and headed toward the farthest fridge.

She walked towards one of the fridges, opening it, there was more food in there than she had seen in a long time. "Deal," she said when she started looking, "Divide and conquer." all the food looked really good. she started at the top and worked her way down, slowly.

Histra listened to the meeting it was the normal thing she had seen it a billion times, everyone talking and listening, no one seemed to want to get to the part she had come to, until finally they did. A massive fight broke out in the room, people chanting and others channeling until finally the headsmaster stopped them.

"She's too young for a partner..." the one said

"this is dangerous..." another said

"She has a connection with him." the cat interrupted.

"Lady Histra," the first said again, "does she really?"

"found some" he said as he grabbed some out, and placed it on the table behind them. He placed squeakers down and he ate. he talked about seeing this weird shadow this around the school. "I think he has seen the demon.." he said looking at her.

She closed the fridge, "Really?" She asked, as she walked over, "I wonder where?" there was a little bit of mischeiviousness to her voice, "I mean if he did we could always tell a teacher or something."
