"I think we should" She stood.

" lets god." he said and got up as well. They headed toward the professor, and he was still sitting at his desk like before.

"we would like to take your challenge, and go on the asinement." Tom was speaking for all of them.

Lacy saw the professor stand. He smiled and said "Ah, I have some brae ones in my class" The headed over to a filing cabinet. He opend it and pulld out a form. "On this form is a list of things you might need, and times of whn you go and get picked up. You wll be staying ogether as a team. Let me make it very clear. Do not split up. It will be dangrous and, well, you are the only peopl their, so no one can hear you if you scream Lacy feels chills shoot up her sine and her skn turns white.

Little did they know, they were not the only ones in the town that night. n fact, that was a bit of an undersatement. Thy had not chosn t go, although, they thaught they had. More like thy had been chosen.

Ben was home and getting impatient - no one was there and no one had called him to let him know what was up.

Ben paced back and forth in the living room and with an exasperated sigh pulled out his cell phone and called Tom to try and find out where everyone was.

Tom phone rang, and he answered it "yea...I am in my room, and I don't know where they are...stop yelling, I'll be down." he said and hung up. Tom was home for a while, and Ben didn't see him walk in the back door. He walked down stairs and seen Ben passing.."having fun?" Tom asked while chuckling.

"Not really - so what's going on? Did anyone talk to the professor? Do we know what we need to bring? Where are we meeting him and when?" Ben threw his hands up in defeat - it figures that Tom had been home for a while and never told him what was going on.

"here..though you should see this." tom handed ben the paper that he got from the porfesser. "We just go that at that time, and stay together." he added.

Ben practically snatched the paper from Tom's hand snarling at him in frustration and then realised what he had just done "Thanks Tom - sorry about that. Don't know what got into me there. I thought for aminute you all went without me."

"nope, we are just waiting for the girls." he said as he sat on the couch. He turned on the tv. "you ready for tonight then?" he asked

"About as ready as I'll ever be I guess - so do we have any idea what to expect?" Ben plopped down on the couch next to his brother.

"its going to be dark, scary, and haunting." he said stating the obvious. "other than that, who knows."

Karly's knuckles turned white as the professor explained every thing, and warned them. She loosened her grip a bit so as not to draw any attention to her fright. "Lacy?" she says to her sister, putting a hand on her shoulder, "are you okay? You look pale." Of course she is, Karly thought to herself. I'd probably look the same by now as well....

"Shoot!" Karly shook her cell phone, as if shaking it would help, after seeing there was no battery left in it. She plugged it in the charger and let it set while she went back to packing for the trip. "Batteries, flashlights, walkie-talkies," she mumbled a list of things to herself.

"Lacy, are you ready yet?" It was a little stupid of her to ask that; her sister was no where near her in the house, and she was mumbling. Karly scratched her head with one hand and sighed. How can I do this? She fell on her back on her bed, and then rubbed her face with both hands. "Lacy!" This time she yelled through the house. "When can we go?"

"OK, i'm ready" Lacy said as she poooped her head around Karly's door. She smiled at her and walked in. Lacy sat on the bed, next to her sister and asked, "Are you worried? Trust me, we'll be fine. I know we will. The boys wont let anything happen to us" She put her arms around Karly's neck and huged her softly. Then stood and walked out of the room.

Karly hugged back. "I'm a little worried," she admitted with a vervous smile. "I know we'll be fine." Karly grabbed her things and followed Lacy out of her room. She grabbed the car keys from a little bowl near the front door. "Do you want to drive, or may I?"

Tow got up and headed toward his room. He was tiard of staring at the screen, so he decided to go and play a game. He sat on his bed, leaned back, and started playing. He had a bigged TV in his room anyway, so it made the game better.

Karly parked the family car in the driveway of Ben and Tom's house. She got out, unloaded her two small bags, and then walked up to the door. "Anyone home?" she said as she knocked. A genuine smile was on her face. After thinking about the whole thing while driving over to the boys' house, she was kind of warming up to the idea. Besides, they would be safe as long as they stuck together.

"Can we come in?" Her voice faded as she turned the doorknob and opened the front door. "Oh, nevermind," she sighed. Karly set her things next to the door and then walked to the couch. She absent-mindedly made herself at home on the couch; sitting with her back against an arm rest and propping her feet, Converse and all, up on the cushions.

Tom heard someone open the door, so he paused his game, and headed down. "welcome, and come in...?" he said with a chuckle seeing how she was sitting on the couch. "about time toy guys got here." he said, and walked over, and stood by the couch.

Lacy walked in after Karly and giggled as she sat on the couch. "Make your-self comfy" She joked and smiled. Lacy headed over to the armchair by the fire and sat in it. She placed her bags on the floor and moved her hands over tto the fire, she was a little cold and needed to warm up, or she would be ill. As her hands warmed, she hared someone coming down the stairs, she smiled as she saw Tom. He made a remark at Karly's 'Make-yourself-at-home' thing then simply turned back to the fire.

Karly smiled and stuck the tip of her tongue out. She pulled her legs close to her and grabbed her feet. "Are you guys ready yet?" she asked. Karly shifted in her spot again so Tom could sit down if he wanted. "Lacy and I are ready whenever you guys are, and I'm guessing that we're carpooling?" she asked, resting her cheek on the tops of her hands.

Tom sat down, and relaxed by sitting back. He wasn't sure where Ben went to but he was ready. "I am don't know if he is.."

"Lacy," Karly looked over her shoulder, "maybe you should go check up on him?" She repositioned herself to where she had her back against the couch and put one leg over the other. Absent-mindedly she began to fidget with a ring on her middle finger. "We can go as soon as possible, or is there anything we need to do before leaving?"

"Not that I know of" Lacy moved around in her seat and tried to get comfortable. "I'll go and see what he's upto shall I? Tom? Is he in his room or did he go out?" She smiled at him. A worried feeling swooped over her and she shivered. Ben was never late to see her, he was always there. What if he was hurt? Maybe he was scared, and just didn't want to go. Lacy did not know. But she would soon find out.

"Last I know he was in his room. no idea." he said as he got up, he remembered he still had his game paused.

Lacy jolted up and ran up the stairs to Ben's room. She knocked and awaited the reply.

Karly sat alone after everyone had left. She looked around after a second, a little curious as to what she should do while the others were off doing there own thing. Karly decided to stand up and follow Tom to his room. She knocked lightly on the door and then let herself in. She walked up to his bed, crawled up next to him, and then sat with her legs crossed. "What're you playing?" she asked. Whatever the game was, she was not very interested in it, at least, not with playing video games; she was never realy good at them.
