Welcome to Open Stone Preparatory High School. We are known for the rigorous curriculum for the 21st century students to excel into college. Our school is also known for the diversity of different ethnic groups around. We offer a variety of programs that fits each student academic level. Our school API Index is placed in the top 100 Schools in the nation by Newsweek magazine.

-AVID

AVID supports students in all academic programs including International Studies, MYP, and IB. Students in AVID enroll in courses that fulfill rigorous "a-g" college entrance requirements. AVID students and their parents commit to enrollment in the AVID elective for three to four years, one period a day where they practice organizational and study skills, work on critical thinking and asking questions, get academic help from peers and college tutors, and participate in enrichment and motivational activities that make college attainable.

The International Studies (I.S.) Program is an interdisciplinary, humanities-based program of specialized, rigorous coursework meeting a-g college/university admission requirements.

-MYP/IB

The International Baccalaureate program is part of the International Baccalaureate Organization's world-wide system of schools. The IBO's mission statement clearly indicates the philosophical approach of all IB schools:

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

All attendance will be recorded and kept track. If you are sick or going on a vacation you must make a notice ahead so we can excuse all absences.

For the 4 weeks. There will be only freshman. After the first 4 weeks, the ones who were freshman will get one week break or summer school. and After that they are now the new sophomores and new incoming freshman who chose to attend Open Stone Preparatory High School will be admitted.

MYP/IB classes are numbered differently. The program MYP starts from 6th grade-10th and IB is 11th-12th.
MYP (PE, language, english, history) are all MYP (class) I and in 8th grade it would be MYP III, and in 9th grade it would be MYP 4 and so on. Then when your in 11th grade. It would be IB (Class) I and for 1wth grade it would be IB (Class) II
