Nathaniel sat down as their drinks arrived and he thanked the waiter. He waited for Andy to sit down with Riley and he started picking at his crab rangoon as he waited. He watched the two picking food and he smiled. They were his entire life, he couldn't even imagine... ever leaving them again.

Once they sat down, Andy gave Riley pieces of real food in between bites of sugared fried dough. She'd gotten him a cup filled half-way with water, so there was less of a chance of him spilling and gave her more of a chance of catching it if he did spill. She glanced over at Nathaniel and noticed him staring.

"See something you like?" she teased him.

"If I'm looking at you, always." He said and smiled, watching his son eat, intrigued. "You know he has powers..." He said and smiled quietly, looking at the boy. "He understands everything we're saying, he's much smarter than any one year old and you know it." He said and glanced up at her. "I haven't figured out what it is, what with the whole power leeching a few months back... I don't know.... But he's smart."

"Well, whatever's going on, he's still our son," Andy replied. "We'll figure it out, I'm not all that worried about it. In the meantime, I can teach him how to control the power he pulls from me, so that he knows what to do with it when he does have it." Tearing up another 'snowball' (the sugared fried dough), she gave Riley a few more pieces when he finished his bits of chicken.

Nathaniel nodded. "I love him either way, don't get me wrong, it's just the fact that... I don't know. I have never had so many parental fears as I do. Not even when you were pregnant. What if he exposes his powers to the general public? That'll get us sent straight to the science labs... It doesn't make a difference, we're a good family no matter what happens. We're just a bit different." He said and took a bite of his own chicken and grinned. "Riley, tell your mum to stop feeding you so many bloody donuts. They'll make you round."

Andy leaned over and gave him a kiss.

"Calm down," she said. "We can teach Riley and make sure he knows what not to do when there are people outside the family around." She reached over and took his hand. "I hope you're not worried like this the next time I'm pregnant. You're supposed to be the one there to keep me calm and happy, not the other way around."

"You say that like we're a normal family where the guy keeps the girl grounded. But Andy, since when have we been a normal family. We both have panic attacks and... it doesn't matter. You're not having another kid for awhile." He said and rolled his eyes. "By then the fear should have passed." He said nonchalantly. Nathaniel moved his food around finding the sushi and sticking it in his mouth and chewing. He found a small piece of chicken on his plate and pushed it around quietly as he thought. "I think I'm just stressed, you know?" He asked and then shrugged. "I just... I need something to keep my hands busy, like a job. I could get the sketch artist job... That's what I wanted from the start. But things just... kind of got different with you. I love you so much Andy... I'm happy with you, I hope you know that."

"I'm not stopping you from getting the job you want," Andy pointed out. "Go ahead and get the job. I'm sure you'd even be able to sell off some of your sketches, maybe take on some commissions." She grinned a bit. "That's why you had the studio built, after all. Besides... I thought you wanted another child. What changed your mind?" She was sure he would want to get her pregnant again now that they were both recovered from the accident, and she was surprised when he said it would be a while.

"No, Andy. I'm not saying I want to wait. I just figured you would, losing... losing her was hard for both of us, and I figured since I didn't see it in my future you must not want one just yet." He sighed and shook his head. "I would love to have a daughter as soon as possible and I know you didn't keep me from my dream. I'm sure I can get the job done but I'm worrying so much that I built the studio because... I had to stay connected to it. We have a son to take care of and I figured I should be with him instead of at a job. Especially while you finished school..."

"You can work from home, you know," Andy pointed out, taking his hand. "Especially if you're working on commissions or something like that." She hesitated for a moment, knowing he was right about the miscarriage being hard on both of them. "It may not be the best idea to try to have another child right now, with the wedding preparations and everything, but... Maybe afterwards? Once the stress of planning everything is over?"

"Yeah... Maybe after. Most definitely after. Right after. That night." He said and grinned, winking at her. "Make this wedding your dream one okay, because you're only getting one." He then helped Riley pick up a noodle and he grinned. "I'll see about working at home, I'll look into it and promise to try and stop stressing so much." He said and grinned as he tore the noodle into smaller bits for Riley.

"I'm already working on making it my dream wedding," Andy replied. She grinned a bit. "Maybe you should let me know what you want me to wear that night," she teased. "Pick out something you like." She picked at what was left on her plate, and ate a few more pieces before setting down her fork. "Is there a particular budget you want me to stick to for the wedding?"

"Keep it... cheaper than the presidents daughters." He said and smiled. "Have fun with it, I know you... You won't go overboard. And I'll make sure to pick something out for you that would stop men dead in their tracks." He said and smirked, kissing the man calmly. "I want you to be happy and let your... wait, I have to choose a best man don't I..." He said and smirked, looking at Riley. "And he'll be our ringbearer right?"

"If you want him to be," Andy replied. "And you do have to pick a best man, just like I need to pick a maid of honor." Really, she should have picked one by now anyways, but she wasn't sure who to pick. None of her friends at school were really close enough to be her maid of honor, and the one girl she WAS close enough to was in a diplomatic meeting in Japan.

Nathaniel grinned. "I gueeeess I could ask Jason... And maybe pull some strings..." He said and smiled quietly. "She'll be home before Christmas." He whispered and then felt his phone buzz in his pocket. He answered it and hung up quickly. "They need me at the school, one of the teachers fell down a flight of stairs. I love you and I'll see you tonight?" He asked, laying down money and kissing her cheek. Ever since he graduated he'd applied as a substitute at the highschool and was called in about twice a month.

Andy nodded and gave him a kiss.

"Go on," she said. "I'll take Riley home with me, we'll be there when you get home." She grinned. "Maybe I'll have Jason watch him for the afternoon and I'll go shopping, maybe get something you'll like." Even if they weren't actively trying for a child, she still wanted him in her bed, so to speak.

"Don't tell Jason, I want it to be a surprise." He said and then smiled, kissing her again. "I'll switch the car seat over. Tonight... And I'm thinking angel... Yeah, I think you'd be a gorgeous angel. White... maybe light blue... Surprise me." He said and disappeared.

Later that night he entered the house and hung up his coat. "Sweetie, I'm home!" He called out.

Andy was sitting on the bed reading when Nathaniel got home that night. She wasn't wearing the outfit she bought earlier, she would change into it later, to surprise him.

"I'm in our room," she called back. She wasn't all that worried about waking up Riley, he was a few rooms over and he was a deep sleeper anyways. "I was just reading for a while."

Nathaniel smiled and entered the bedroom. "Hi..." He said and stretched. "I'm so glad I took that weird Egyptian history class back in undergrad ed." He said and leaned down kissing her as he started getting undressed to his boxers. "I'm going to take a shower... Do you want to join?" He asked and then raised an eyebrow, throwing his shirt in the washbasket and looking over his shoulder at her.

"Feeling a little adventurous tonight?" Andy teased as she got up from the bed. Using her power, she turned him around so that she could kiss him. "I wouldn't mind joining you... but that means saving my new outfit for another time, and you won't get to see it until then."

Nathaniel moaned and kissed her back, moving his hands to slowly slide up her arms. "No, I really am in the mood for seeing you... dressed up. So... I'm going to freshen up then and I'll take a shower afterwards? If I feel like I can move?" He said and kissed her softly once more.

"Then why don't you do that and I'll get changed," Andy suggested, giving him a nudge towards the bathroom. "I'm sure you'll like what I picked out." Giving him a kiss, she pushed in towards the bathroom again. "Go. I'll let you know when I'm changed."

Nathaniel smirked and rose an eyebrow. "Demanding. Hot." He said and then laughed as he entered the bathroom. He started the water in the sink and washed up a little, trying to smell less like children at play and more like a man about to see his girlfriend in the most sexiest outfit she could think of. He added a tiiiiny bit of cologne and ran a hand through his hair as he waited.

Andy quickly changed into the outfit she bought and then knocked on the bathroom door to let him know she was changed. It was a sheer white corset overlaid with the palest blue lace. She'd seen it in the store and knew it was perfect.

"I could have saved this until after the wedding, you know," she teased when he came out of the bathroom.

"Oh my..." He whispered and shook his head. "I couldn't have waited that long for this sight." He said and smiled as his hand ran down the front of her corset across the lace. "I was thinking more devil for that night anyway." He said and then quickly lifted her up, carrying her to the bed and falling on it. "Corsets... You know how to tease a man." He said and then nipped her lower lip and kissed her again. She did know how to dress up.
