Zarrah stares at the black knight, and then at the pixie. Slowly, her pale hand reaches up to touch her wounds - one on her neck and the other on her arm. Already the blood flow was slowing; the bites weren't very deep.
The silver-haired girl then turned her blue eyes upon her sister, and knew that she had cried far too many tears already. Zarrah couldn't mourn for her family. Not now, not here. A strange shift of emotions seemed to occur inside of the pale teen, and a look of wonder appeared in her eyes. She stepped forward and cupped her hands underneath the pixie, her dirty face breaking into a weary smile. "I've never seen any of these things," she said breathlessly, "dragons, vampires, knights, pixies... undead." The young woman shook her head in amazement. "My world is falling apart, and I start seeing things from fairy tales!" The laughter that followed her words was harsh, but loud.

"Do not be afraid, child" Trix floated up to Zarrah's head and projected her voice into Zarrah's mind. It was sweet and calming. "I do not normally show myself," Trix said, floating before Zarrah, "None of my kind do, to anyone - but this evil force is not only theatening your lands, it is threatening the forests too. I watched as you ran through the forest before, I wanted to help... but I wasn't sure." She turned to look at Zarrah's sister. "Will she be okay?"

Meng whistles, and a falcon lands on his shoulder. H e writes down what is happening, ties the note to the falcon, and sends it back to the main kingdom. "Hopefully, my warning will get there in time" Meng thinks to himself.

Watching the bird flutter out the window, Zarrah looks back to the tiny fairy. "I think my sister will be fine. We'll both be fine," she muttered, her blue eyes taking on a slightly crazed look. "We just need to get out of here and get some rest. Maybe things'll get better." The slim girl absentmindedly rubbed the wound at her neck.
"Will you help us check for survivors?" Zarrah asked, looking first to the fairy, and then to the knight. "I don't want to leave anybody here alive."

"ok, but first I insist that you and your sister drink this healing potion." Meng says.

Trix nodded. "I will help, but I must soon return to the forest to help prevent this taint from reaching my home" she told Zarrah. She quickly darted up, out of the house, and started to search more buildings for any other survivors. Her small size stopped her from being seen by the undead unless they actually tried to look, which was lucky.

It was deep in the darkness where Trix found a final survivor. He was sitting against a wall with his brown hair falling about his face. No emotion passed across his cold grey eyes, and the blood that coated his leather vest and bracers didn't faze him. He merely sat there in the darkness, staring at the corpse of a once-undead.
It was only when the gentle light of Trix's glow entered the window that he looked up slowly, his pupils flashing into a slit as he pinpointed the pixie's location.

"Hello? Is anyone in here?" Trix said loudly, her tiny voice travelling further than you would have thought. She lowered into the building, sighting two bodies, not sure if they were dead. "H-hello? Anyone alive down here?" Trix tried not to sound frightened, but in truth she was. She had never been so alone before.

The man stood, lifting his blade and sheathing it behind him. "I'm the only one here," he said, his deep voice filling the dark room. "What do you know?" His question seemed a bit... ominous. Once again, his grey eyes flickered with slitted pupils before returning to normal.
His expressionless face showed nothing but a stone-like facade, and he kept his gaze locked on the tiny girl's flitting form. No matter how fast she moved, his keen eyesight followed without losing track of her. Narrowing his slitted eyes, he stood straight and tall, waiting for the answer to his strange question: what did this creature know?

((Hehe, kinda figured that Zarrah was gonna... ah... *cough* well, she's not going to be living through this whole thing, so I needed someone else. Everyone, meet Leon. :D))

Trix was confused. What did she know? That the town was burning and that he was sitting next to a corpse? "I... don't understand your question. Who are you? I will help you get out of here, if that is what you wish." Trix lightened the room, so they could both see clearer.

[[Gotta go for now, cya in a while]]

He stared at the flitting girl as she spoke, pupil's shifting once again before looking a bit more normal. "Leon Wehsker," his deep voice stated,"Has it spread? Did it work?"
As he spoke, the man flexed his broad shoulders and seemed to orient himself and test his muscles. Looking over to the window, Leon slowly headed over toward the illuminated opening. He never did respond to her offer to help him out, but he didn't leave the building before looking back to the fairy. "Did it work?"

Trix was perplexed by this question. Did it work? Trix thought. Did what work? That question made this new... 'being'... a little suspicious. "You... you did this? To the land, and to these people? You turned them into these monsters?" Trix said, jumping straight to conclusions. "I have to warn the others!" Trix said quietly, as she scurried off.

Trix flew back the way she came, hurriedly looking for the knight, or the vampire at least. She could find no sign of them. She looked around, and started to panic, but quickly calmed herself. She could feel darkness rising in the area, so she went back to the room to investigate.

"Yes, it worked" Trix finally answered, referring to the taint. "It is the taint you're talking about, aren't you? You caused this!" Trix said, starting to get angry. She still did not know much about this 'Leon' person.

His pupils flickered once more, and he watched as the tiny girl flew out the window. She said much, but knew little.
"Yes, it worked," her little voice trilled as she returned. "It is the taint you're talking about, aren't you? You caused this!" The way her wings seemed to catch in the air showed her fear, the rise in her tone made it apparent that she was frightened.
Leon didn't respond to her accusations, but merely headed for the window. He didn't answer to a three-inch fairy, and no one else needed to know what he knew. Turning his grey eyes out to the burning building across the street, he spoke.
"There are survivors?" he asked, hearing the murmers of voices coming from the next building over. He listened harder, tilting his head slightly, before nodding to himself. Good. Survivors were a good thing.

Jill suddenly gets up and wipes her tears. She cannot look at her parents - a.k.a. ashes - any longer. "I'll be alright." she says with a smile, answering the knights question. She feels a chjill and wraps her arms around herself, chattering quietly to herself.
"You got any place we can stay for the meantime?" she asks.

Zarrah stepped over and hugged her sister, nodding. "We need somewhere to stay." She, too, looked toward the knight.

((Pssh, talk about a small post. I feel kinda... at a loss! lol))

"I can take you back to a camp not far from here" Meng said. He took out his sword. "Alright, follow me"

Zarrah smiled at the knight, her eyes weary. "Thank you," she sniffled, rubbing the bite wound on her neck. It was really starting to bug her, but she didn't want to say anything about it. Maybe it would feel better after some sleep and food. Nudging her sister, Zarrah went to follow the black knight, hoping for the best. It would be good to get out of the destroyed town... and their pixie friend would catch up.

Leon saw the group of survivors as he glanced out the window. With a slight smile, he cast his slitted grey eyes over toward Trix and rose a finger to his lips. The man then slipped out of the window gracefully, landing on his feet in a way that showed both the speed and strength of his form. Ignoring the strands of brown hair that drifted into his face, Leon Wehsker followed after the black knight and two young women ahead of him.

Meng and the two girls left the destroyed village, and headed into the woods. after a while, they arrived at a camp where the other knights were. "You girls warm up by the fire, and I'll go get you some food" said Meng.

Trix was stunned as she saw the figure jump out of the window. She darted up and out again and quickly followed it. She saw her new acquaintances trying to escape the town... and the figure running after them. She was struck with panic. She quickly started to fly down, hoping that she could reach her friends before Leon could.

Leon followed the group until they reached a camp outside of the town. He slowly slid into the bushes and shadows as the sun sank in the sky. The only trace of his passing were the sentries he encounted, who were left dead in the night. She is a carrier, he thought, keeping track of Zarrah and her sister as they mingled with the encampment of warriors.

Zarrah chewed hungrily, munching quickly on the lump of bread she had been given. "This is amazing," she said threw a stuffed mouth, "I didn't even know you guys were this close to town!"
A couple of the warriors chuckled and bantered amongst themselves, but the silver-haired girl wasn't listening. She was far to intrigued with her soup and bread. "Isn't this great, Jill?" she mumbled, glancing at her sister. "We're safe!" When she laughed, her blue eyes were glazed. Despite the recent happenings, she seemed almost... joyful. Like she had forgotten the zombies, the destruction, and the lost fairy that they had left behind.

"After giving the girls a warm meal, Meng went to sharpen his sword. Chopping through the undead had made his blade dull. It was then that he saw Trix glowing in the shadows." Ah, pixie. Thank you for helping me out back at the village."

"Not as lost as you think," Trix voice was heard in Zarrah's mind, almost as if Trix knew what Zarrah was thinking. She glanced at the knight and flittered down from above to land on Zarrah's shoulder as she was eating. "Terrible, terrible!" Trix said, knocking her tiny hands on Zarrah's face. "Zarrah, you... we are in danger!" Trix was hurriedly pointing at the direction of the decaying town, but words couldn't form in her mouth. "He... the... Leon... he..." Trix slapped herself sternly. "A... monster! He calls himself Leon, he is following you! He is the one who spread the taint!" she said, trying not to stumble over her words.

Zarrah stopped chewing her food and swallowed deeply. "We're safe here," she said slowly, staring at the little girl on her shoulder. "... and what's a Leon?" The silver-haired girl reached up and rubbed the bandage around her arm. It seemed to be bothering her more often than not, but it would most likely feel better in the morning.
Her blue eyes were still glazed, and she looked slightly loopy as she brushed the pixie away. "Oh, we'll be fine, Trix." She then went about scarfing her food. It wouldn't fill her up! She just couldn't get enough of it, no matter how much she ate!

Trix watched as Zarrah ate, and ate, and ate. After a while Zarrah was still eating, Trix stopped her. "Zarrah, I've only known you for a while, but even I know this isn't normal. What's up?" she said with worry in her voice.

"I'm 'tarving!" she exclaimed, her voice muffled by the bread in her mouth. She covered her mouth and swallowed. "Sorry, I'm making such a huge mess." Zarrah laughed, brushing her silver hair back with dirty fingers. "I'm just . . . so hungry! It's like I'm not really eating at all."

Leon wiped the smear of blood off of his face and pushed the guard to the ground. He wouldn't be getting up again. With fresh blood coating his leather vest and the whole front of him, the man strode into the camp calmly. "Where is the child?" he asked the nearest warrior, his grey eyes cold as the pupils flashed into slits. When there was no response, a blackened cord shot from Leon's hand, suffocating the man. "If you will not tell me, then I will search for her myself."

Zarrah wiped her face as best she could with her dirty sleeve, smiling at Trix. "So what's all this about a Leon? You were freaking out about it a few moments ago."
