Ninde balanced her ax on her shoulder as she eyed The Statue Of Liberty. Her eyes scanned the waters separating the island and her. Squatting down, she placed her free hand into the water.
"No, swimming would not be a good idea" she mumbled quietly as she shuddered from the cold. Getting back up, she looked towards the sun. She brought her hand before her eyes and measured how many fingers it was from the ground.
"Three hours till dusk," she thought aloud. True, Ninde had no reason to talk, she was traveling alone, but she did anyway. To her, it helped to fight the feeling of loneliness that seemed to be suffocating her, instead of making it more obvious. She let her hand drop back down to her side before walking away from the beach, towards the city. She had seen a few pieces of wood and a tool shop not far away and even though she was never much of a engineer, knew the basic principles of making a boat. It had to support your weight for one thing, and then be able to float. She laughed at how obvious the things she knew where before stopping.
Did she hear footsteps? She took four steps forward then stopped. Click, click, click. Something was following her. She turned around but saw nothing but the sun setting. THE SUN SETTING?!?! Ninde broke out into a sprint, heading towards the beach. She had miscalculated and was probably going to pay for it if she didn't find a way to the island soon. It was New York, after all, and there might be hundreds of the dead running after her. Risking a look behind her, she saw nine of the once-humans chasing after her.
A sudden burst of adrenaline gained her another meter or so farther than them. No matter how cold the water was, swimming how many miles the distance of the island was better than facing nine zombies (Are they zombies? I mean, they sound like them). Leaping the last two yards, Ninde executed a swan dive into the water. Ice cold water poured down her throat and clothes as she resurfaced and began swimming towards the island. Swimming forward with fierce determination, she knew that this was probably the end for her.

((Yeah they are zombies...kind of, but for lack of another word, we'll call them zombies))

Rosaleen heard splashing, and looked out the window, a few zombies were chasing a girl..a girl? She stood up from her chair and opened the window of the apartment she had fixed up to be "Z-proof" and sure enough, it was a living breathing human. She grabbed her Laser and shot three of the zombies down, then growled as the others moved out of her reach. "HEY!! HEY!! THEY CAN SWIM!!" She yelled as the girl jumped in the water. Sure enough the zombies followed suit. She yelled out in frustrated anger and left her apartment, she ran down the stairs and jumped over the Pieces of wood that covered she had put over the door to keep them out, then ran after her. She reached the edge of the water and picked up a rock and cucked it at the zombies that chased her. "HEY BRAIN GOBBLER! OVER HERE! FRESH MEAT!" She yelled jumping up and down, sure enough it stopped and turned to her. It growled then turned around, the others following it. "Just what I wanted." She said taking out her gun, she pointed it and shot then all, one by one.

"Aw, Rosaleen, ye got 'em all before I could even take a shot et 'em." Leah said, coming up to the girl from behind. "Ya shouldn' yell so loud either, I jumped at hit meh head while workin' on somethin'." She continued now looking down at the desperately swimming girl.
"Ye think she's goin' to make et? That water der is pretty chille'."

Guess I won't be needin' this no more... She thought as she strapped the gun she had off her back and put it onto the floor of the room. Well, who's room was this? She just followed the yelling and there was Rosaleen all happily shooting away at the undead. Really, there are better things to do, whether you save someone's life or not.

((Are you inside?))

"Hey, I was having fun. You know, I think that one used to be my staff Sargent." She said with a laugh, watching the dead bodies float up to the top of the water. She looked at the girl still swimming frantically. "I think her body will freeze up pretty soon, the human body isn't used to such cold temperatures, unless trained to be." She said with a sigh. She kicked a rock into the water with her boot and placed her gun back in it's strap. "But, until then, we can just watch and wait." She said with a smile.

((Yep))

Leah sighed, looking back down at the swimming girl. "That was pretty stuped* of 'er, 'm guessin' she just got 'round here." She said, pointing over at the floating zombies.
"Ye don' say." She mumbled as she looked toward the undead person that Rosaleen was referring too. But her attention was turned back to the girl. "Ye know, she'll probably sink before she makes 'et, being she got that huge bag of 'ers." She said, pointing toward the large backpack the girl carried. It didn't look like the girl was willing to give it up though, so Leah didn't yell anything down to her. Like Rosaleen said, they'll just sit and wait. And, if the girl did make it, that would just mean another mouth to feed.
Leah sighed, now wondering what was going to be cooked for dinner.

((*stuped = stupid, I didn't misspell it, it's just how she talks.
Can Leah be the person who cooks around here? Just wondering...))

((Sure, and I was outside XD))

Smiling Rosaleen spat into the water and climbed back into the building, then went up the stairs and into their apartment. She jumped onto the couch and grabbed an apple off the table, then spat it back out. "I know you like to cook, but please don't put fake fruit out, you know how much I love apples!" She yelled tossing it at her.

[[huzzah x3]]
Arina made her way through some smoldering rekage of an old hospital building in New York. She knew that there might be some salvagable equipment, and hoped there might be more medication to add to her supply. She had been helping small parties on her way to where she heard was safe. She collected a few odds and ends, scalples and needles and such from a small box she had found in tact and added them to her bag before making her way to the shore where there was supposed to be a ferry taking passagers to the island. "I wonder if they have any books..." she asked to herself as she stepped on the ferry.

Lukas pulled his wagon along behind him his blonde hair shifting with the wind. He ran a hand through before making his way out of the abandoned grocery store on his search to update his supply. He'd been in luck most of the food in this store were in pretty good shape. He put what he could into his mini-refrigerator that he'd connected to a small generator so he still had fresh ingrediants and a lot of canned goods and made his way to the ferry he'd heard about. When he stepped on with his wagon he spotted the dark haired girl he'd seen scouring through the hospital he'd passed. He shrugged it off and waited patiently as the ferry took off.

Rosaleen yawned and watched out the window as a few people piled onto the broken ferry, "Where is everyone coming from?" She asked sitting up. She watched as a guy with a wagon got on and a girl. She wondered if she should tell them it wasn't working or not...She needed some fun, instead she opened the window and sat on the ledge letting her legs hang over and watched to see how long they would sit there before they realized it.

[[if they have to get to the statue of liberty, then there has to be at least ONE working ferry in NY, lol, i mean they're not going to swim to ellis island.]]
Arina sighed. "I don't think this is the right ferry man." She said to the guywith the wagon, she'd admit, for a guy, he was kinda handsome. She shrugged. "I'm guessing that you heard it was around here too, maybe we should work together to find it." She grabbed her pack and started on down the shore line.

"Huh? Oh, I spose you're speaking to me. Yeah, I was thinking the same, there's no person driving this one..." He mentioned. He was a bit shocked when she proposed working together to find the one that would take them. "Uhm... alright..." He said following her back to the dock pulling the wagon behind him. "So what's your name? I suppose if we're going to the same place we should at least establish names right? I've heard it helps when you have to deal with people every day." He was looking around, he hoped that there wouldn't be any of the infected beings around, the girl didn't seem to have anything to protect them with, and all he had were kitchen knives, which he didn't want to have to use on anything besides cooking.

{lol I love zombie RPs ^^}
{lol But Ninde will be able to swim there! I don't really feel like killing off one of the coolest characters I've created XD}

Ninde hadn't heard what the other girls where saying for the water that had found it's way into her ears blocker her hearing. Death and cold closed in on her, freezing her bones and flesh till they where nothing more than useless hunks of ice. Thanking God for being an athlete, Ninde swam on, trying her best to ignore the ever present desire to slip away, letting herself fall into the cold embrace of death that the waters where offering her. She would no longer have to struggle to survive another day, wouldn't have to loose anyone close to her ever again, all she had to do was stop swimming. Stop moving her aching arms and kick her frozen legs. Ninde shook her head before realizing that she was sinking.
"One more mile," she told herself, picking back up to a steady pace. But in the back of her mind the easy escape of death and how she would be rejoined with her family played.
Feeling that her arms where about to give out- and her legs, for that matter- she switched to swimming on her back, even though it made her head hurt from the cold.
Soon Ninde only had a 50 yards to go. Then, 15 minutes later, only 50 feet. Gasping and hypothermic, Ninde collapsed on the shoreline of the island. Now that she had finished fighting for her life in the waters, she had to fight to stay conscious, because she knew that if she fell asleep, she wouldn't wake up. But , alas, her luck had run out. Slowly her eyelids dropped and she fell into a deep but disturbing slumber, riddled with nightmares.

[[Building a boat would take so much time...]]
Arina shook her head. "I suppose you're right..." She shrugged and sighed. "Name's Arina, I suppose that means you'll tell me yours now right?" She asked as they walked along the waters edge. She'd been to New York before, so she knew there was a Marina along here somewhere, there had to be at least one working boat. Maybe a nice one too. She wasn't good with most mechanical things, but she knew how to rig an engine. She'd find a boat to get them across the water.

Lukas laughed and followed the chick. She was a little rude but he enjoyed having someone to talk to. "Names Lukas. I hope we can find a boat around here, it'd suck to have to try to swim there. I would have to leave my wagon behind.... I don't think I'm in the mood to do that." He said honestly he had just picked up some good ingredients.

Arina shook her head. "You wouldn't make it if you tried. You don't have enough body fat to keep you warm or enough muscle to make it much over a few hundred yards from the shore." She told him, having already analized him.

Sighing Rosaleen jumped down and landed on the awning of the hotel then flipped off and landed in a crouch on the ground. "HI!" She called running over, her boots thudding on the floor. She smiled when she reached the two. "I'm Rosaleen, Electrician." She said holding her hand out to the girl.

Arina gave the girl an odd look and took her hand. "Arina, medical." She said shortly, then pointed towards Lukas, "Lukas, from the looks of it, something to do with food." She gave a small smile. "We were going to check out if there were any functioning boats in the Marina. Maybe you could help, boats need electricity to run and all." She said with a bit of a smile.

Lukas let out a small gasp startled when the new voice broke in. He jumped and let out a squeal from the fright then calmed seeing it was another human "You scared the living daylights out of me!" he almost yeled and calmed as she and Arina started talking. He let out a small grunt when Arina introduced him "Try a trained chef." He said though doubted he was heard, more of a hurt pride than anything.

"Sure, but most of those boats need a completely new engine, I'm working on one in my apartment, if you guys want to come up and rest for awhile. It's completely safe, and z-proof." She said with a smile. It was odd that there were so many survivors to suddenly be showing up, but as she had heard on the radio, Ellis island was the only safe place left.

Arina shrugged. "I suppose that would be a lot better than wandering around out here. I'm game then." She looked to the water again. "Ah why must the ocean be so decievingly cold up here...." She trailed "Most human bodies can't take that cold for long enough that it would take to get to that Island. Though it's such a teasing dream of saftey." She shook her head. "I'd prefeer to stay dry anyway, and it looks like rain is to be had today."

Lukas blushed a little. Stuck in an apartment with two beautiful ladies, not like either were paying him any attention aside from snide remarks. "I wouldn't mind a place I could get some rest in..." He trailed letting his blue gaze scan over the buildings, most of them in decay. Then looked up at the sky as Arina had mentioned rain. "Oh wouldn't that be lovely to sleep in..."

"Sure come on." She said turning and walking up to the hotel, she looked around then climbed through the wooden planks and lead them up the stairs and to the third floor and to the first door from the stair well. "I knocked down the walls in this whole side of the building, so it's one big giant condo." She said plopping down in the couch.

"Pretty nifty." Arina said following behind her. She set her bag down looking to make sure nothing had expired or broken then looked back at the lady. "You look like you've had military training." She observed a little. She was much the anylizer, she was fascinated by the human body, muscle functions and the electric signals that pass from the brain to work muscles all the way down to the toes. She could always tell though if someone had been in the military.

Lukas struggled to keep up, trudging the small wagon behind him. He had to meneauver it throught the boards and drag it up the stairs clearly he was not going to get any help tonight. He siged and collapsed on the floor when he made it into the room. Just his luck that the two woman he happens to come across don't even want to aknowledge his presance much at all.

"Yes Ma'am, I made it out of Basic, and went over sea's. When I came back the army was already disbanded." She said with a smile. This girl was quick, cute and quick. She turned to the guy, "If your tired, there are 20 beds to choose from." She said laughing as he collapsed.
