Moonbeam smiled and nodded to Devan's soft words as she watched him and her daughter. The only thing that worried her was if Senri wasn't going to accept the connection between their little girl and Devan. But she knew for now, that everything was alright. And she was very very greatful for that. "Well I don believe it's your heat.... But your scent... Kei knows mine and Devan's because Devan came to see them hours after they were born... So I think he just has to get used to you." she said snd picked Kei up amdgently set him in his grandfather's lap.

"Perhaps," Nayin muttered, accepting little Kei. The child blinked, his maroon eyes moving up to meet the elder's. For many moments, the two stared at one another. The expression on Kei's face was serious, as though he knew exactly what was going on. It stayed that way for many moments before he lunged up, his hand grasping a lock of Nayin's silver hair. It was the only stray piece that could be found, yet Kei didn't seem to mind that. It was minutes before the two were playing; Kei tackling whatever he could while Nayin provided things for him to tackle. It would have looked rather gruesome if Kei were older and had sharper claws.

((:XD Don't . . . know . . . what to post. *sniffle* And they're so cute.))

((*purr* Teen years sound wonderful.

Nayin has moved back to the Drake home to take care of things there, though he still stops by occasionally for a visit.

Devan has stayed with the pack (and become awfully close to Kiyomi).

Senri is a bit unhappy with Devan's close proximity to his daughter - especially since it's constant - but is willing to keep things peaceful for Moonbeam's sake.

Lana is over the death of her "little brother," and is considering having children of her own - but hasn't done anything about it quite yet. (We should probably wait for some more children. x3)

But . . . I dont' mind a time skip at all! :eager:

Kei's powers havent' really flourished yet - I'll take care of that in just a little while.))

((here's Kiyomi:
Kei:
and I thought that Kiyomi should have better healing power then her mother and Telekenisis. And that it would be cool for Kei to control the elements.))

Kiyomi hummed to herself as she walked towards home with Kei. She was wearing her school uniform and a bow in her hair like she always did. Her plaid mini skirt was short and swished playfully as she walked. She looked at her brother again knowing he felt her excitement. She was always egor to get home. Always ready to be welcomed home by their parents, but mainly Devan. She loved how he hugged her, it made her feel needed and safe. And the funny thing was, she never called him uncle, it was just Devan. But she had to be careful, being daddy's little girl, and being close to Devan wasn't the best mix in the world. "Mom said theirs a surprise for us when we come home... I couldn't wesel it out of her mind... What do you think it is?" she asked after a few minutes of walking. Little did they know their mother was planning taking them to the city and letting them have their first expierence at shopping in a big crowded mall with their own credit cards.

((^_^ Elemental control! Sweet! Good idea. I'll post Kiyomi and Kei's pictures on the front page so we can see them. They'll be in my first post on that page.))

White ears laying low, Kei shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe it's something to do with food." That was typically his first guess - he'd never gotten over his love for any kind of thing that could be consumed. Maroon eyes shooting up to follow his sister, the youth pushed his hands into his pockets. With his bag bumping against his legs, Kei felt Kiyomi's excitement radiating off of her. "Have any guesses?"
With a small purr-like noise, he shot one hand out and snagged her arm. Linking it with his, Kei gave her a crooked smile. The sun seemed brighter than ever at that moment; warm and welcoming. He loved the day time; the warmth of the sun was something he never could compare anything else to. There was nothing like curling up on a warm couch with the light filtering in over you, warming your skin with its very touch. . . .

By the time Kei shook himself from his daydreams, the youth found his eyes moving over Kiyomi's happy features. She was his twin; his very mirror. Where she was happy and radiant, he tended to be moody and quiet. They were alike in many ways, including their dashing good looks. To break the silent moment, Kei leaned over and nipped at the girl's ear.

((Heheh, loving this. How old are they? Roughly . . . what? 17-ish?))

((hehe sounds great! And I was thinking that their birthday was a week away so they will be turning 17 and Moonbeam's surprise is an early birthday present.))

"Of course... You and mom's cooking should get married." she said and giggled. Though she only teased her brother, she never once fought with him, they understood too much about eachother to really get mad. She then purred and happily linked arms with her brother and walked along side with him. Hearing his question she pondered it until he nipped her ear, making her mew and squeek and then give him a good smack in the arm. "Not fare I was thinking!" she said knowing their little game of seeing who could catch the other off guard the most. "I'm still winning. 6 To 5." she stated and stuck out her tongue like a little kid. She then giggled and grinned. "I was thinking it might be an early birthday present. You know mom.... She can never wait to give us our gifts." she said lightly and giggled. She then walked threw the gates of the estate with her brother and noticed a car that appeared alot lately at the estate. "Oh your crush is here again." she said in his ear just to see her brother blush. Their mother worked in turtoring another girl from their school in her healing powers and she would come over alot of the time for asking questions and also giving their uncle Fang updates on the law enforcements from his second in command the girl's father.
((hehehe thought I could give Kei someone too. And here she is Toru: And I thought these would be perfect school uniforms: ))

((School uniforms = So cute! I'll get that posted up there too . . . and gah! :squee: Toru is so cute! She is now in my front page too.))

"I wish," Kei muttered. If he could get married to the food his mother made, he would gladly do it. If there was one saying that cut clear and described him the most it was that the way to his heart was through his stomach. If any girl knew that, they could easily catch him hook, line and sinker.
Feeling Kiyomi smack his arm, Kei couldn't help but chuckle. "I'll catch up before the day ends. I always do." Purring, he flicked his tail against hers before leaning his head to hers affectionately. They'd grown up that way - they were never apart. With no scruples for physical contact, the twins were like two sides of one coin.

Kei took a few seconds to think over his sister's thoughts. Early birthday present - Moonbeam had been known for such things. With a small smile, Kei then felt his ears drop low to his head in embarrassment. He saw Toru's car - and he heard Kiyomi's comment. "She makes excellent cookies," he mumbled, keeping his pale face expressionless. No matter what he did, he couldn't hide the blush that spread over his features. Lifting his free hand to cover his mouth, Kei cleared his throat. "I don't have a crush on her. Honest." Lie. Ever since Toru had been studying with Moonbeam, Kei couldn't help but suddenly realize how darned cute she was. That friendly smile, those big eyes . . . her every movement caught his attention.
To stem any further talk of his "crush," Kei pulled away from Kiyomi and tossed his messenger bag to the side of the path. "Race you to the house!" Without another word, he darted for the door.

((hehe I know! I found them and then pictured Kiyomi and Kei like the two in the pic and was like That's perfect! And snatched the piccy and ran. Hehe. Yes, Toru is the little sweetheart I had in mind for little Kei when he was attcking Naylin. hehehe don't ask how she randomly popped into my head but she just did. ^^))

"That's not surprising." Kiyomi giggled hearing Kei's response and then shook her head. With their mother's cooking they were never bound to go hungry.... As long as they could keep some hidden from Kei. She then shook her head and rubbed her head against her brother's happily. They had always been so tight and affectionate to eachother. They just didn't seem to ever grow out of the hugs and purrs for eachother. Then watching Kei's eyes look over the car she grinned knowing she had scored a point as Kei blushed. "Uh huh... Cookies, and a cutie... And no crush? Come now, you can't lie to me." she teased lightly and then dropped her bag and sprinted after her brother. "I'll get you for that!" she called gaining on him fast. One mager advantage from being Moonbeam's children, they were fast. Hellashiously fast. Being so leath and strong they put the whole track team to shame. She then pounced as he nearly made it into the house and they tumbled inside. Laughing she looked up and grinned seeing Toru. "Oh hey Toru." she laughed as she untangled herself from her brother. Toru smiled and giggled looking at the two with her huge sparkling brown eyes. "Hello, Kiyomi, Kei." Torus said softly in her light voice and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. She then stood and gracefully leaned down to grab a tin and then held it out to them both. "I made cookies for you two... And early birthday present. I hope you like them." she said and Moonbeam walked in holding a glass of water and giggled. "Devan I could've won that bet that they would end up sprawled on the floor today... Why don't you ever take me up on those bets?" she asked and shook her head smiling widely. Moonbeam didn't look too much older then she had when the twins were born. She looked in her mid twenties now and age seemed to only make her more beautiful

((Wonderful post.))

A laugh escaped Kei's lips as they ran, ending only when he ran out of breath. Tumbling to the ground with Kiyomi, he instinctively went to grip her in a choke-hold . . . only to hear Toru's sweet voice. The instant he heard the girl, his grip on his sister died. Face burning, he waited for Kiyomi to disentangle from him before pulling himself to his feet. "Toru." Ears low, the male cleared his throat and offered Toru a slight smile. "Thank you," he whispered as he accepted a few cookies from the tin. He tried real hard to only take a few. Honesty, it was a miracle that he was still as slender as he was.
The first bite of the cookie was like heaven. Ears and tail perking against his will, Kei purred in enjoyment as he consumed his share - all too quickly, for him. Once his cookies were gone, his only option was to look to Toru again. Her sparkling eyes caught his attention, and he offered a crooked smile . . . before ducking his head and moving to the kitchen. Muttering something about being thirsty (he never could get himself to talk to Toru for more than a few moments), the tall youth slipped past Devan as he entered the room.
-

Devan chuckled, shaking his head. "If I took you up on more than half the bets you made," the vampire made his way toward Kiyomi as he spoke, "I would be feeling guilty." A soft look came over his features as he wrapped his arms about Moonbeam's daughter, giving her a tight hug - as he had nearly every time she came home. Knowing that Senri was a bit touchy about the action, Devan tended to give the girl hugs when the father wasn't around.
"How was school?" the vampire asked, his red eyes scanning over Kiyomi's flushed face. She was still breathing quickly from her run, her scent just as sweet as it always was. "No trouble today, I hope?" As though no one else were in the room, Devan's attention revolved around the young woman completely. It had been doing that recently - ever since she grew up, he could hardly keep his eyes off of her (much to Senri's disdain).

((hehe thank you. ^^))

Toru smiled happily watching Kei say her name and take the tin. It made her happy to hear his voice. He didn't say alot to her in school so it was always a great thing for him to say something to her now. "You're more then welcome Kei..." she said softly a pale blush on her cheeks as she watched his eyes sparkle with happieness as he ate the cookies. She knew they were the twins' favorite and it made her oh so very happy to see him happy. But then he left barely muttering anything autible and her ears drooped sadly. Seeing this Moonbeam walked over to the girl and hugged her with one arm. "Its alright Toru.... Kei just isn't a big talker around cute girls..." she said reasuringly trying to get Toru to cheer up. Poor girl tried so hard to talk to Kei, sometimes their lessons turned into talks about how to get Kei to talk. It was just bad she couldn't get her own son to talk. She would have to work on that.
Kiyomi's eyes lit up seeing Devan as she panted trying to regain her breath. She felt his arms wrap around her in her favorite hug and hugged him back tightly. She purred softly and blushed as she ran a hand threw her hair. She straightened her skirt and then nodded. "Everything was great...." she said softly and smiled widely. To be truthful she was a bit worried. She had been asked out today at least five times to go to the random dance the school was holding. But she didn't wanna go with anyone, no, not just anyone. She wanted to go with Devan. He was the one who taught her how to dance when she was younge, and she could only imagine ever dancing with him. And it made her heart nearly flutter at the thought of him holding her close like that now. Let's face it... She was crushing on him... Horribly...

((*giggle* The Toru/Kei thing is just darn right cute. :squee:

And Devan/Kiyomi = AMAZING. The dance thing . . . totally something to learn from a vampire. Can you imagine learning to dance from someone who's known how for over a few centuries?))

"How do you feel about your paper?" The two of them had put quite a bit of effort into her literature paper . . . though with the occasional hint dropped here and there, Devan had guided Kiyomi through the darned thing. The young woman had been the one with the words, he was only the editor and offered a bit of his long-lived experience to help the writing sound realistic enough to pass. "Is your teaching giving you hassle again?" The last paper had been . . . well, disastrous if you counted "b's" as terrible.
The vampire slowly withdrew his arms, letting Kiyomi stand on her own once again. She was fixing her rushed appearance, which made Devan chuckle. You'll always look fine, dear. Glancing to Toru, the vampire offered a smile. "Kei never was one to talk." He'd often heard the two talking about Kei, but didn't have much advice to offer. He tended to avoid other were's - his involvement with the pack wasn't something he liked to broadcast. There were some families that found the arrangement rather disgusting.

His crimson eyes flickered from Moonbeam to her daughter, and then back again. Your family has always been my own. With a smile he couldn't force away, Devan slowly reached out to smooth a stray hair on Kiyomi's head. "Your brother must have found the punch. I would get some before he drinks it all." Nodding toward the kitchen, the vampire gave the girl a grim smile. He could hear Senri returning from his hunt . . . and it was always best if he didn't return to find Devan beside his daughter.
-

From where he was in the kitchen, Kei took another drink of his punch. Should I offer some to Toru? His white ears drooped in thought. No, Mum's already gotten her some for sure. Hasn't she? Torn between being shy and being a good host, the shifter leaned against the counter. For once, he set down his drink and stared at it instead of guzzling it down quickly. I think she'd like it. Toru would definitely like it.
Tail twitching in thought, Kei crossed his arms and took a deep breath. What's the harm, right? A few moments later, he had two glasses: one for himself, and another for the girl. Yet, as he contemplated going back out to the living area, Kei halted and set the cups down. He couldn't do it. Grumbling to himself about being a coward, Kei brushed some of his silver hair from his face in agitation. Don't be such a sissy!

((hehe yes it is. *giggles*
*nods and grins* that would be sooo uber cool! I love these cute couples <3 ))

Kiyomi looked up at Devan and then groaned and hung her head. Grrr... He had to bring up the dreaded paper. "She didn't like my ruff draft... She said that I jacked it off of some internet sight because I'm not capable of using such big words." she said in exaspiration as she looked at him and then blushed as he fixed her hair. "Doesn't she understand.... I have been using big words like ambadexstrious sense I was ten.... Ugh... I must look stupid or something..." she grumbled and then shook her head. "She's so picky... So I think I'm going to have to take the vocabulary down a few levels so its dumb enough for her.... Grrr..." she said her tail flicking in agitation and her ears flat on her head. It seemed only Devan understood her goals in getting all A's and fighting to be ahead and well off at her younge age. Though her mother was an amazing tutor, she was a bit too soft sometimes sense she just told both twins to do their best... Which they both got mostly straight A's. But She was struggling in literature while he was struggling in Algebra 2.
Looking up at the vampire Toru nodded and then sighed. Moonbeam smiled sadly and then nudged Toru towards the kitchen. "Some of my famous punch is in the kitchen love... How about you go and wet your wistle." she said and Toru's eyes grew huge and she shook her head. She protested the whole way, not wanting to make a fool of herself if she ran into Kei in their. But Moonbeam wouldn't take no for an answer and soon pushed her threw the door. Toru stumbled and her head bumped right into Kei's chest making her freeze, her fur on her ears and tail on end in shock, as her eyes slowly looked up into his eyes as she turned a deep red. "H-H-Hi... Kei..." she studdered completely and utterly embarrassed.
((hehehehehe go moonbeam! hehehehe))

((:boogie: Oh, go Moonbeam!))

Starting in surprise as Toru stumbled into him, the youth instinctively caught her to keep her from falling. Kei stuttered over his words for a few moments, and mentally covered his face in embarrassment. "H-hey," he swallowed, his own blush rising to match hers. Swallowing again, he slowly let his arms drop from holding Toru steady. Shoving his hands in his pockets, the tall youth seemed awkward for more than a few moments . . . and then glanced to the cups of punch. "M-Mum made some punch. I-I was going to bring you a glass. . . ." As his words trailed off, Kei blinked his maroon eyes rapidly. Reaching for the two glasses, he offered one out to Toru. Oh. My. Gosh. He felt so . . . so awkward. So out of place. So . . . silly. Like he wasn't trying hard enough, but if he put effort into it then things might look strange. Unsure of what to do exactly, he merely held out the cup for Toru while taking a rushed drink from the other.
-

"Dumbing it down for the instructor," Devan wrinkled his nose in distaste, but chuckled. "I suppose she doesn't think highly of her students then. You couldn't look stupid if you tried." Just as Senri could be heard entering through the front door, the vampire moved in a blur of movement. Pressing a soft kiss to Kiyomi's forehead, he gave one of her ears a gentle tug before moving to Moonbeam's side of the room.

Senri entered the house a few moments later, looking slightly flushed. He'd just transformed into his human form, though the family had gotten into the habit of keeping extra clothing out near the back of the house. Wearing nothing but a pair of comfortable pants, the werewolf closed the door behind him. After a quick scenting of the room, he smiled grimly in Devan's direction.
"Good afternoon," he nodded in Devan's direction before moving toward his daughter. Nuzzling the side of Kiyomi's head, the werewolf stiffened. He didn't say it, but Devan's scent on Kiyomi was enough to make his blood boil. Devan might be part of the pack, but it was hard to think of him as part of the family. "I hope school went well for the two of you." Kissing the girl's ear, Senri then moved toward Moonbeam to greet her with a kiss (which was enough to make Devan roll his eyes to the ceiling and avert his gaze).

((oh no big bad daddy has entered the house. Eeep! Hehehehe *giggles*))

Toru's mind had barely managed to desicifer the fact that Kei had been holding her for a split second, the most amazing split second of her life. She then straightened her uniform and her hair before smiling sheepishly and taking the cup. "Thank you Kei..." she said snd took a quick drink her mouth suddenly dry. The silence was kinda awkword as they both drank in silence. She then pulled the cup away from her mouth and bit her bottom lip cutely as she tried to think of something to say. "How did you like the cookies?" she asked softly and looked at him hoping not to scare him off.
Kiyomi smiled and giggled at Devan's words. She then blushed at the last part. Feeling his kiss made her heart skip a bit and she thought her legs were going to give oh any second. Scratch that she was totally crushing on him. Hard. She then used her self control and got rid of the blush as he father walked in. She smiled widely and hugged him back tightly knowing he worried so much about her and Kei, and nuzzled him back lightly too. But then she saw the flash of thoughts in his mind and her ears nearly flattened in sadness if she hadn't forced them to stay erect. "School was fine... And I got to tackle Kei so alls well in a days work." she joked lightly and then groaned when he kissed her. "PDA! PDA!" she shouted and exited the room quickly. She retreated into her room and then stopped and looked at her bed. She slowly sat down and put her head in her hands. She hated her powers sometimes.... When she was younger she would see the flashes of her family's past, and when her mother finally revealed all the memories of her own Kiyomi had broke down and had been sick with sadness for almost a week. Seeing all those horrid memories of pain and sadness was something she could hardly take. It killed her to see the past happenings between her father and Devan most of all. She knew her father, and she loved and felt absolutely horrible for what had happened to him, but she could not blame it on Devan. That wasn't the Devan they knew now. And she refused to ever believe it was. But the rift never healed between Devan and her father... And it tore at her everyday. It tore at her constantly and she couldn't turn to anyone... She knew her mother went threw the same pain and grief, but it was much too different for her.... She wasn't like her mother, she couldn't sway people's hearts with her innosence, she wasn't innosent.... Looking down at her hands Kiyomi shook as she saw the flash of blood again on her hands. She and her brother had tried hunting down Rafe one night when he had gotten too close to the estate for his own good. But instead of killing Rafe, they had accedentallt killed one of the coven's scouts in the blood lust. Yes they had wounded Rafe but he had gotten away, at the cost of an innosents life. Curling up and feeling all the sadness weighing on her again she let her tears slowly trail down her cheeks, knowing that nothing could ever cure her hurting heart.
Moonbeam smiled kissing back Senri happily and then watched Kiyomi go. "How was your hunt love?" she asked lightly turning her attention back to her husband and ran a hand threw his hair softly. She then looked at Devan and call it mother's intuition but she felt that Kiyomi needed him. go check on her please. she sent to Devan in his mind as she kept her eyes in contact with Senri's.

(( Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum! LOL))

"They were excellent," Kei said after taking another drink. Slowly letting his cup rest on the counter beside him, the youth let his maroon gaze finally rest on Toru. The instant it did, he blushed a bright crimson that would have (if they hadn't been furry) colored his ears as well. "You make the best cookies I've ever tasted." The shifter felt his tail flick with interest as he slowly brought his gaze back up to hers. "You were very . . . ah, kind. To think of our birthday, that is." Once again, he mentally covered his face. Why can't I just talk normally? Like when I talk to Kiyomi? To be truthful, the current conversation was the longest one he'd ever had with Toru. It wasn't that he didn't like her . . . but avoiding her was certainly something he did often. No matter how much he loved seeing her car in the driveway, it always made him cringe and want to slink into the back room. Even now he was tempted to excuse himself. . . .
-

Hearing Moonbeam's voice enter his mind, Devan merely nodded. 'Anything for her well-being.' He slid from the room as Senri focused on his wife. The vampire made his way past the kitchen (glancing in for good measure) before heading down the hall. He knew the way to Kiyomi's room better than any other. When she was young, he'd helped take care of her - her nightmares, her dreams . . . when she was sick, it was Devan that seemed to be there. Even when Senri wished him to leave, he would use the window to enter. It was his obsession - he needed to ensure that Kiyomi was safe and secure; happy. He would take any number of bullets just to ensure that she was living a good life.
As soon as he paused by her door, the vampire frowned. By the sound of Kiyomi's breathing, she was crying. The thought made him want to enter immediately, but Devan restrained himself. "Kiyomi?" Knocking softly, the tall male pressed his hand against the door. "Do you mind company?"
-

Senri stroked Moonbeam's hair affectionately, his single eye roaming over her features. "It went well. Lana and Markous are out cleaning up . . . we brought in quite the catch this time." Prey was far from scarce throughout the days - it was good to see so much. It also gave them something to do when things were too peaceful for the pack.
"How did Toru's lessons go?" The werewolf kissed Moonbeam's head before linking his fingers with hers. He needed to get cleaned up - dirt and blood took quite the liking to his sculpted form. Shaking a few locks of dusty grey hair from his face, Senri blinked at the sound of beads clicking together. The sound always reminded him of the days he'd spent with Devan - from the times of slavery.
Narrowing his gray gaze, Senri pushed the thoughts away. "Has Kei talked to her yet?" He well knew the troubles of the family . . . but that didn't mean he was privy on the details. As they headed toward the nearest bathroom, Senri glanced to his woman. "Or is he still keeping quiet?"

((lol hhehehehe))

Toru smiled sheepishly setting her cup down as well. Her arm brushed his making her blush and then run a hand threw her hair nervously. "It was nothing.... Ah... You're mother... She talks about you guys all the time..." she said softly her blush stubbornly not leaving her features. "I forgot to ask... Umm what is your favorite cake? Your mom said I am going to make you your own cake this year so Kiyomi can have more then one piece..." she said softly and giggled nervously hoping she hadn't just offended him and mentaly slapped herself in the forehead.
Kiyomi sniffled hearing Devan's voice and curled up more. She hated him seeing her cry and weak. but she knew it hurt him more if she tried pushing him away. "No.... Enter...." she choked and then shivered. She bit her lip a bit before she continued to cry as the memories from Devan and her father kept plauging her mind, as well as the blood that had been on her hands did. It made her shake in fear and sadness....
Moonbeam smiled widely and nuzzled Senri. "Thats wonderful." she said. She knew that Lana and Markous were thinking of doing the same thing Fang and Caprica had done. Build their own house, just in the adjacent lot to the estate, so they could raise their own family, but still be close to the pack. She saw the narrowing of Senri's eyes as she walked with him and knew she woudl have to talk to Senri before he hurt their daughter.... Moonbeam saw the signs, and the visions of her two babies, and she knew that Senri wouldn't approve of their little girl's love. "I literally gave them a push... So hopefully we shall know by the end of the day." she said and then smiled. "It went well. Toru is going to be a fine healer."

((Oh, I forgot to ask in my last post: is it Autumn-ish, or do we have a season? x3))

Kei let a smile spread over his features upon the mentioning of Kiyomi eating cake. It was true . . . the previous year Kei had managed to eat the entire thing over the course of two days. It wasn't his fault that it was so good! "My favorite," Kei tilted his head, trying to think for a moment. The fact that their arms had just brushed sent his tail into a small dance of motion, his fur standing on end. The two of them must have looked just darned adorable standing there against the counter, blushes spread over both of their faces. It was many moments before Kei finally let his maroon eyes look upon Toru once again. "That's a hard one," he admitted. "Anything with vanilla is good." As the awkward silence returned to plague them, Kei cleared his throat. "Do you wanna . . . well, uhm, sit down?" Glancing toward the well-used kitchen table, the shifter twitched his tail in that direction. It was silly of him to keep her standing there for so long. What if she wanted to sit down?
It was then that something hit him. "Y-you're going to make a cake?"
-

As he entered the room, Devan's gaze fell upon the girl. Seeing her curled up, tears running down her cheeks, the vampire literally blinked out of sight as he flickered to her side. "What's on your mind?" Devan sat down on the edge of the bed, as he'd done many times before. Leaning over, he stroked her pale hair from her face with careful fingers. "Why are you crying?"
The vampire wiped away a few of her tears with his icy touch, frowning as he listened to her shaking breaths. Seeing her tremble made Devan's thoughts wild with worry . . . but it wasn't something he hadn't seen before. Pulling himself closer to Kiyomi, the dark-haired youth stroked her cheek once again.
-

Splashing himself with water, the male thought over the Kei/Toru situation. Senri chuckled, using the nearest towel to start wiping his features dry. "Here's hoping he learns to speak his mind." As he finished quickly cleaning up, the werewolf shook the water from his newly wet hair. Playfully spraying Moonbeam, he grinned. "He'll learn. Someday, he'll learn." As his wife was wiping water from her features, he leaned forward to kiss her again. He still loved her as much, if not more, than he had when they had first married. This woman was his life - his soul-mate. Moonbeam was the gravity that kept him on the earth . . . and it was what kept the pack together.

((oh I really don't know.... I thing it's like autum... Ish...))

Toru waited patiently as she swore she could see the gears working in Kei's mind. She then smiled almost tryumphantly when she got an answer out of him. She took down a mental note of his preference and then took his offer for a chair. Just incase her nervous knees gave out on her. She sat and then looked up at him as he realized she was making his cake. She giggled and then shook his head. "Ive made your birthday cake for the past three years... So yes." she said smoothly and looked at the table embarrassed. Had he not remebered her delivering the cake to the house everytime? Was she invisible? Oh she hoped not....

Kiyomi sniffled feeling Devan's loving hands move her hair from her face. The icey touch comforted her only so much as she laid there, wanting to be held. "I-I hate it..... I hate seeing the look daddy gives you...." she choked and more tears poured down her cheeks. "Why can't he love you? Why does he have to push me away from you?!" she demanded sobbing and then burried her face in the comforter again. "Why does their have to be so much blood.... Pain... And hate..... Why can't we forgive and forget?" she choked and shook more violetly.

Moonbeam nodded and then squeeked as she was splashed. She laughed and then kissed Senri back deeply. She had always loved Senri deeply, and nothing seemed to change over the years except for their bond was so much stronger now. And they had two beautiful babies that were growing up fast. Maybe a bit too fast for Senri to handle. "Senri.... We need to talk... About Kiyomi..." she whispered softly her tone and features turning serious.

((*giggle* "see the gears working in Kei's mind." Oh, glorious! LOLZ))

In a sudden rush, Kei seemed to recall the delivering of the cake year after year. Come to think of it, Toru had first met their family about three years ago. With a small intake of breath, his maroon eyes moved to her face in surprise. "That's right," he muttered, slowly taking a seat beside the girl. Their conversation was full of quiet words and short sentences, but it was the longest talk they'd ever had. "You always make the best cakes." Swallowing the last of his punch, Kei took a deep breath. They needed to do something other than say a few words every minute or so. The youth finally brought himself to glance toward the drawer under one of the counters. There was a deck of cards in there. . . .
"Do you want to play a game?" he asked quietly, hoping he didn't sound too . . . childish, perhaps. One ear perking, Kei watched for Toru's response.
-

Devan was silent while Kiyomi spoke, only moving when she finally stopped. Her sobs shook her form, and the vampire didn't bother restraining himself any longer. Shushing her, Devan moved to sit against the headboard. After situating himself, Devan held a hand out to the girl. "Come here."
Drawing the warm "child" into his lap, he wrapped his arms about her. It had changed - she had grown. It had been a while since he'd held her so - Senri's protesting glare made Devan feel as though it were too forward. After all, Kiyomi was no longer a little girl. She was growing up now. Things weren't the same as they were a few years ago.
"I don't blame him," Devan whispered, hushing her once again. Whispering words of comfort, the vampire stroked the tears from her face as they continued to fall. The warm droplets made his features soften further, and his heart gave a light tug. Kiyomi had always done that to him, even when she was an infant. "I . . . owned him for a long time, Kiyomi. Longer than you've been alive." He'd kept Senri for over twenty years before he was finally freed. Those two decades were nothing to a vampire, but everything to a were. "I took his life." Devan's voice dropped to a whisper. "His family, his home, his freedom. There was nothing that he could call his own." I even took his sight. Swallowing, the vampire pushed guilty thoughts away. He'd once delighted in such things - the taking of freedom, the twisting of other's lives. It had been a while since such thoughts tempted him, but Devan always wondered if they would someday return to his mind. "Your father tolerates me here because I have shown myself to be trustworthy," Devan said, stroking more of Kiyomi's watery emotion away. "But neither of us can forget what I did to him." For a moment, his heart dropped. He'd avoided thoughts of confronting Senri's protective stance on his daughter, but that meant that Devan could only go so far. Would he be held at arm's length forever? Just the thought was like a knife to the chest.
He'd never admitted that he loved Kiyomi, but it was written in his careful actions and soft-spoken words. Every look he gave her was laced with kindness that he didn't show to any of the other pack members.
-

Senri sighed, wrapping his arms about Moonbeam. "And Devan," he finished. The werewolf growled quietly, but shook his head. "Let's find a place where we can be alone." Moments later, they were safely behind their bedroom door. "He loves her, doesn't he?" Senri moved toward the bed, falling back onto it before reaching for Moonbeam. As if that thought isn't terrible enough.

Toru smiled and then blushed. "Thank you...." she said, flattered that he thought her cooking was the best. She then thought to herself and silently planned to make him a nice three layer cake, maybe he wouldn't eat threw that as fast... She traced a heart on the table with her finger as the silence washed over them again, forcing her to try and think of something to say. They both seemed to be conversation killers with their small sentences and answers. She then snapped her eyes up to Kei again, shocked that he had asked her to play with him. It was the cutest thing she had ever heard him say and she blushed lightly. "I would love to." she said happily and smiled at him brightly. She couldn't believe her luck! Thank the gods for Moonbeam...

Kiyomi sniffled as she was pulled into Devan's arms. She had craved his soft touch like this for so long... The void between them had kept them from being so close for a long time... And she had hated that. Closing her eyes, she memorized the feel of Devan wiping away her tears and holding her close. His arm around her waist made her rest her head on his chest and one arm wrapped around his neck instinctively as the other clutched his shirt. She had always wondered if Devan was as well built as her brother and father underneath his shirt but she had never seen him without a shirt....
Kiyomi listened quietly as Devan spoke. She took everything into her heart and slowly began to calm down. Devan had only ever opened up to her like this, had only used this tone with her. She saw the hints everyday, and wanted to give her own hints... But the thought of her father always held her back. She didn't want to make him angery, honestly the thought scared the hell out of her... But she was sick and tired of beating around the bush. "I understand..." she whispered softly and her tears slowed to a stop. She took in a slow steady breath and mounted her courage. She was finally going to do it. She slowly looked into his eyes with her own shining maroon eyes, and her hand unclunched from his shirt. Slowly she reached up and cupped hischeek and the amazing shock of his skin nearly made her shiver in excitement. "Devan... I-I have wanted.. To tell you something for a long time." she whispered and paused taking a breath as her heart sped up. "Even if we have to hide it from the pack.... I can't stand to hide it from you anymore..." she squeeked softly and bit her bottom lip and then took hold of her courage and leaned in closer to him. "I...I... Love you...." she whispered and then gently pressed her warm lips to his. The shocking sensation errupted threw her viens making her instinctively press closer to him. Oh my god! She did it!

Moonbeam nodded and followed Senri into their bedroom. She watched as he flopped onto the bed and then crawled over to him and laid next to him. "Senri... I know you've seen how much Kiyomi has taken to liking Devan.... And I know you don't like it, but look at what he's done for our daughter... He's watched her, tutored her, fed her, nurchered her, and loved her.... He has committed no wrong against us or our daughter since the twins were born." she whispered and ran a hand threw Senri's hair gently and kissed his cheek. "We can't stop our baby from falling in love Senri... And I've seem the fear in her eyes... Have you seen it as well? Have you seen how she fears our scorn and hides herself from us all the time?..." she asked and then sighed heavily. "I don't want her to fear us..."

The smallest hints of a smile spread over Kei's features as he stood rather hurriedly. The action almost knocked his chair over, but he managed to catch it before it fell. With quick movements (made even faster because of his bloodline) Kei brought the deck of cards to the table as fast as he could. He almost appeared eager to play. Food was the first thing on his heart, but games were the second. Sure, it wasn't the most complicated lock to his heart, but it left him open for friends (when he actually tried).
The cards were swiftly shuffled and ready. Kei seemed a tad bit more at ease as he looked back to Toru. This time, his eyes didn't flicker away from her gaze as though he were nervous. "Do you have a game preference?" While waiting for the girl's response, Kei went to the fridge to bring over what was left of the punch. Now they were set - cookies and punch with a card game close at hand. If Kei wasn't falling for Toru before, he was certainly considering it then.
-

Feeling Kiyomi relax against him, Devan stroked her arm softly. He was treading on thin ice - he needed to be careful from here on. He was just thinking as much when the girl startled him. Her heart was racing as her hand cupped his cheek - it was so reminescent of her mother, it darn right shocked him. The vampire met her shining gaze steadily, listening to her beloved heart beat quickly. The sound was like the fluttering of a bird - free and wild, full of ambition and longing to take flight.
The sight of Kiyomi biting her bottom lip made him smile - she did that whenever she was thinking long and hard about something. The shocking tingle of her words left him stunned. I love you. How many times had he said those words when she was little, only to stop when she got too old for it. The vampire frowned slightly, thinking of how Senri had suddenly clamped down on their "relationship." Of course, Devan hadn't quite listened. If he had, he wouldn't be living with the pack but with Nayin instead.
Kiyomi pressed herself closer to him, her heart gaining speed. Gathering courage, are you? He almost chuckled, but his thoughts weren't allowing it. Instead, his mind lingered on her warm touch; the gentle scent of her breath, her soft kiss. Devan froze as Kiyomi pressed her lips to his, his arm moving to hold her to him after a split second of complete shock. So soon? He didn't move to kiss her back . . . at first. Instead, Devan's mind went to Senri and the pack.

A few moments of thought passed, during which Devan's gaze met Kiyomi's without wavering. "Kiyomi," he breathed, trying to find something to say. If they did this . . . if they decided to love one another . . . then they would face more trials than ever. The vampire let a frown crease his brow, and he swallowed quietly. Just thinking over the soft sensation of her lips pressing against his made Devan instinctively pull her closer, his lips parted as he took in her scent. You're lucky that I hunted last night. Suddenly seeming to throw all precaution to the wind, Devan leaned in to kiss Kiyomi in return. The feeling was one that he would never forget.
He could hardly speak when he paused before kissing her addictive lips again. "I love you," he whispered, his cool fingers wiping away the last of her tears.
-

Almost seventeen years from him. I can't cover an entire lifetime of pain and torture. Senri slowly closed his eyes, sighing. He didn't want to be feared by his daughter - ever. But if it meant keeping her away from the life that he once lived, then he would do just about anything. "You've seen how Devan works. He changes his mind often. He'll be with us one moment, and gone the next." The vampire had done that exact thing when he first joined the pack - leaving, returning, and then wavering between the two sides. It isn't us that she needs to fear. She has fallen in love with the one man that I would do anything to-" Senri cut himself off, frowning. "I know it has been a while since he's done anything, but what is twenty years to a vampire? Nothing. They live longer than we do, Moonbeam."
The one-eyed male linked his fingers with hers. "I've seen her fear. I've seen the way she looks at me." Senri sighed again. "She hates it. She hates that I keep Devan away from her." A small growl of frustration broke from his lips. "But I can't trust him. Not with Kiyomi."

Toru smiled widely as she watched him as he moved quickly. Loving the way his body moved so fluidly and so fast. She knew it was from his parents mostly, she had seen them in action before. It was amazing, and she could only imagine how amazing the twins were in action. She then grinned as he brought back the rest of the pounch and then thought to herself of what she wanted to play. She then smiled widely and giggled. "Ummm I don't know many card games... But what about go fish for starters?" she asked lightly as sheblushed. SHe was trying so hard not to look at anything but his face. But his body was just so well built... And the tightness of his school shirt wasn't helping her cause. "Is that okay with you? I could always learn a new game." she offered as she brushed her hair behind her ear again. The silly little strand didn't want to stay out of her face.

Kiyomi's hopes took a nose dive as Devan didn't kiss her back as she kissed him. It nearly brought tears to her eyes again as he gently pulled away from her. She met his gaze bravely and knew what he was thinking. He could try to hide it from her powers but she could desifer any message in those red eyes. She knew he was debating the risks. Wondering if it was worth it to put them both under the gun for the love. She then was taken by surprise as he kissed her of his own free will. Kiyomi wanted to squee in excitement but instead she jsut kissed himback deeply, maybe a bit too deeply. Seeing the looked in his eyes she knew that she couldn't have planned this moment any better. Luckily they had kissed after Devan had went hunting. She knew that she smelled amazing to him. Her mother had warned her of that a long time ago. She felt slight jelousy of her mother, her mother had felt Devan's lips on her neck, had felt those beautiful fangs pierce her skin. Call it a sick dream if you wanted, but Kiyomi wanted Devan to trust her enough to feed on her, if only once. Then hearing his words made her heart explode and her eyes widen in happieness. She kissed him back again, deeply. She was so happy. His arms around her, his lips against hers, and him returning her love. This was the best kind of dream, because it would still be here when she woke.

Moonbeam heard everythought, every word, and took it all in. She sighed and closed her eyes and linked her fingers with Senri's. She knew she couldn not change his feelings toward Devan, but she had to try and make him see whathe was saying. "Senri.... Listen to me..." she whispered and cupped his cheek and looked into his eyes. "We all know that you two can never fill the rift.... we know that forgiveness is something that you cannot give to Devan... And for you trust to him is unthinkable..." she whispered and then took in a breath. "But do you not trust our daughter? do you not trust Kiyomi?... Senri... Our daughter is smarter then we could have ever imagined... She started out playing us in chess when she was 5..." Moonbeam whispered and kissed his forehead. "She understand's the risks... she, unfortunately, is almost too much like me..." she whispered and looked into his eyes. "She will even give herself into slavory for the one she loves." Moonbeam whispered and kissed him softly, knowing that it was a bit unfare for her to bring the memory of agreeing to give up her life for Senri to be free, but she had to make Senri understand. Kiyomi was stubborn just like she was, she wouldn't stop until the right thing was done.

As Toru's hand moved to wipe her hair out of her face, Kei couldn't help but watch the movement. Swallowing, he nodded. "Go Fish sounds good," he whispered, and started dealing out the cards. "I can teach you more after a few rounds." The youth lifted his own hand, glancing to Toru before leaning his elbows against the table. A game with Toru - while drinking punch from Mum and eating birthday cookies. There was nothing better than this. "I dealt, so you can go first." White ears perking, Kei forced his attention to his own cards. It was hard to keep his focus off of Toru herself.
-

I love you. Devan hummed in contentment, his hands slowly winding their way up to tangle in her hair. I always have. The vampire couldn't get enough of her warmth, her touch. Though he'd been avoiding it, Devan never said he didn't love this young woman. Kiyomi had his heart the instant he saw her. Just thinking of that tiny little infant looking up at him with sparkling eyes made the man's heart lurch. Kiyomi had grown up so quickly - and he had been there every day, every night.
"We should speak with Senri," Devan whispered against her lips, shifting so she was even closer to him (if it were possible). "I don't want to get us into trouble." Because we are already in it deep after this. Another kiss was pressed to Kiyomi's lips, and he savored the warmth of her form against his. She was so soft, so gentle. This was what he'd longed for . . . this is what he wanted. Her deep kisses and beautiful smile, her loving words and touch. Deepening their kiss, the vampire felt a part of himself ignite once again. He hadn't felt like this toward anyone in many years.
-

Senri's hand moved to stroke Moonbeam's cheek, and the werewolf sighed. "I . . . do trust her." He returned the woman's kiss whole-heartedly, but then relaxed against the bed with a grim smile. "Do you really think this is worth the risk?" His gray gaze was full of torn feelings. He never wanted to hurt Kiyomi . . . but trusting something so dear to him to a vampire? To Devan Drake? "I know you want me to change. I know she wants me to change." There was a pause. "I can't forgive him. But I can . . . trust Kiyomi." His heart hadn't changed . . . but perhaps he was considering something other than hatred.

Toru smiled and watched with intrest as Kei delt. He must've played alot of card games, his fingers just flew over those cards. Her eyes neber left his hands until she had her own cards in her deck. She then hummed softly to herself as she put her pairs down and then looked up at him. "Do you have a queen?" she asked with a small smirk on her features and then nearly giggled watching his reactions, she wanted to see if she could read his facial expressions well.

Kiyomi enjoyed the feel of Devan's hand threw her hair, making her sigh softly against his lips. The feel of his cold lips against her burning ones left her body tingling with a sensation nearly indiscibeable. She knew Devan had been avoiding to tell her he loved her, she had sensed it sense she got into highschool. The way they fit together though, was something unexplainable. Like two puzzle pieces. She then pulled away to breath against his lips and then looked up into his eyes hearing his words. She shivered at the thought of talking to her father, fear clenching her heart, but as she looked up into those eyes, she knew he would protect her. You know we're already in deep trouble... But trusting him she nodded and smiled at him lovingly. She cupped his cheek and then closed her eyes and accepted his kiss. Kissing himback with deepness andpassion she gently ran a hand threw his hair. How many times had she day dreamed about this in class and had Kei throw a pencil at her to snap her out of it? way too many times. But it tasted and felt like nothing she could ever imagine. She then gently pulled away to breathe again and then fixed his hair lovingly. "We shouldn't wait.... otherwise... He'll think we're trying to hide..." she whispered knowing her father too well. She then giggled softly as she straightened Devan's shirt and looked up into his eyes. "Sorry about that." she siad with a humored smile.

Smiling Moonbeam slowly closed her eyes and then purred softly. "Of course Kiyomi does... She doesn't want you to hate her or her love." she said and cuddled closer to him. She kissed his cheek adn then sighd. "Well, I am going to let the twins take their new credit cards and go to the mall in the city... Maybe, if I have Toru and Devan go along as well.... Good things will happen... And Kiyomi will prove that you can trust her." she said softly and smiled gently at Senri happy that he was working on trusting his daughter for her happieness.
