bells walked to the girl and held up her chin to her face. "eh? you might make it..." she straightened and looked at the boy. "you on the other hand may have to work for it." she looked at them both and sighed. "you have to know what this place is. and you have to know why your here." she crossed her arms and continued. "since there isnt any medical staff around i can tell you guys all i know about the spirits around here. they like to talk. a lot. but most of them are your average ghosts. no talking. no faces. just black shadows that travel with no destination point." she rubbed her temple a bit and looked at them both. "it'd be easier for you guys to ask questions and me just answer, then me tell you everything i know..."

((Can't sleep!))

"What about those ones that surround the place outside? Th..the ones on fire." She whispered the last part after looking around as if expecting someone to be eavesdropping.

bells smirked at the girl. "the building had a fire in the rehabilitation department a few years back. the patients never left, i guess...its as simple as that. they never come inside though, i dont know why..." she looked at the girl more closely and tilted her head. "and what is your name?" she glanced at the boy. "and yours too."

"I..I'm Bekki.." Bekki said slowly, she didn't really like telling people her name, she felt like once they knew her name, they could maybe control her somehow.

bells nodded, seeing her reaction and replied, "im bells. i would say that it was nice to meet you, but seeing as were in a mental asylum, i dont think i will..."

Bekki smiled nervously and looked around the room. "How long are we going to be locked in here?" She asked wiping the drops of blood off her arm.

bells watched her arm and frowned. "until they think were 'better'." she air quoted 'better' and sat down next to bekki. she held her arm and frowned. "this isnt going to speed up the 'recovery' if you ask me..." she said looking at her scornfully.

Jem walked over to Bells, Bekki, and Johannes, seeming to appear from nowhere. She was carrying two clipboards, each with a pen and piece of paper attached.
"Hello Bells," Jem greeted cheerfully. "How are you?" Not waiting for an answer, she handed one clipboard to Bekki and Johannes. "This is just basic stuff we do when accepting new patients. All it is is a form you have to fill out. You don't have to fill out any questions you feel uncomfortable, but at least fill out the upper half. The questions there are pretty simple: "What's your name?", "How old are you?", "Why do you think your here?", stuff like that," she explained to both of them, occasionally bending over to point at a question or to show what she was talking about. "Now, if you have any questions or need anything at all, I'll be in different rooms around here. You can just press the little orange button by the door labeled "Nurse" and I'll come as quickly as I can." Beaming down upon the three patients, Jem was about to turn around when she noticed the cut on Bekki's arm.
"Oh dear, how did that happen?" she asked, her voice dripping with concern. Kneeling down, she pulled out a handkerchief and a large band-aid. Taking Bekki's arm gently, she wiped the cut several times until she seemed satisfied. Placing the handkerchief back into her pocket, she then peeled off the wrapping from the band-aid. "Here," she said while laying the bandage on Bekki's arm. "Be careful, please. We don't want any accidents," Jem cautioned while getting up, once again her voice thick with worry.

bells put on her fake "good patient" attitude and looked at the nurse, who she now remembered. "i'll be sure to make sure their well taken care of, nurse jem." she smiled.

he shivered weakly, "R...ight..." he muttered and stood up slowly trying to ignore the forms bustling around him, "can I get... outta here? Please?"

bells waited until the nurse left and she looked at the boy. "you cant leave until they think your healed. stop whining about the seeing them part. you get over it sooner than later." she stood up and walked to him. "like i said im bells. and what you are doing will not help your "fast recovery" from illness." she air quoted 'fast recovery' since she knew none of them were mental.

He shivered, "S... sorry... just... th...theres more here... alot...." he hid his face in his hands, "and the others... the people... they don't respond... I don't know what... it is." He shuddered, "It's... overwhelming.... yeah... It was easier... at home."

"its always easier wherever you were before here." she looked at him closer. "what is your name? i would feel more comforatable talking about all the spirits if i knew you better..."

"Johannes..." he nodded, "I... don't thi... think I caught yours either..." he muttered as he watched as a pale image of the three of them where sliding through their previous actions, "D...do you see those?"

bells nodded pointing to the three shapes she thought he was refering to. "those are the no-facers." she said grimly. "their not the worst, but can be very scary when your alone..." she looked at him and added, "my nickname is bells."

he shook his head, "No facers? the... you mean you see more than shadows?" he turned to her and cocked his head, "all... i see are the shadows... And you guys... and me... and..." he sat down again and held his head, "too many..."

bells watched him and put a hand on his shoulder. "it gets easier after awile. can you talk to them? or hear them?"

He shook his head, "no... well.. not...them... but the ones... outside... they speak...." he closed his eyes and smiled, "b...but you can hear... them right?"

bells nodded. "i can see, talk, and hear them." she sat down on the floor closing her eyes and breathing deeply. she called one of the child ghosts she liked to talk to and looked at him. "this is kyle. he was eight when he died." she pointed to kyle and he waved at him. "he says hi."

Shivering he turned back to her as the shadow moved closer, "R...right... h... hi there." he muttered, "d...does it mind... umm... leaving please?"

bells nodded and smiled at kyle. "you can go now." she said to him. he nodded solemnly and disappeared into the darkest part of the room. she looked up when he was gone and frowned. "you dont like seeing them?"

He shook his head, "all I see are shadows... That and those things... what are they, the past? I guess... But the shadows are disturbing."

bells nodded. "i sort them into three groups. the no-faces. which are the shadowy ones with no real outline. the classic ghost. which is mainly the ones who have their human shape, but most usualy look like the way the did when they died. then there are the monsters. those are the twisted ones with no shape at all. they are just blobs of evil and anger from their life." she looked at the window. "i usually feel a few of the strong emotion before one comes around though."

"The monsters... Like the ones that hide outside?" he closed his eyes. "The ones that follow us around, feeding off of us, tormenting us?" he grinned, "I can see them... the real them." Bitting his lip he lokoed around, "they watch us."

bells frowned. "yeah, those are the worst ones. i dont realy talk to them, but when they come to me, i respond."
