Sam looked at the sun and saw that it was starting to set. "Well, you would have had fun, but I gotta go. Nice meeting you Lilly." He said before he started to head back home. Sam needed to get there before the sun went completly down or he would be in trouble. "Oh and noone would notice, they'll be busy stuffing themselves with treats and ale to even care to look up. As long if you were in a tree with a lot of leaves." He told her then he began to walk again.

Lilly stared after him, "I'll go if I can." She whisperd. He was probobly too far to hear her. She looked up at the setting sun. The sky was fadding into beautiful shades of purpple and grey.

Sam made his way back home just in time. He sat down with his mother and sister and they had dinner. Afterwards he cleaned up and gotten his sister ready to be in the play. Once they were ready, they started to head over to the curtain to place his sister and then went to sit in the audience to watch. He was hoping that Lilly came and see the play.

Lilly sat under her tree wondering what she sould do. She stood up and ran as fast as she could from tree to tree, each time getting closser and closser to the human village. She saw Sam and dartted up a tree near him. "Sam." She wisperd, looking down at him. "Sam." She said a little louder.

Sam had sat down by his mother when he heard someone call his name. When he looked all around, he didn't see anyone. Then when he heard his name even louder, he looked up and notice that it was Lilly. He asked his mom if she could get him something to drink and she said sure because she was thirsty also. He looked up at Lilly, "Hey, I thought you weren't coming and right now really isn't the best time to talk. My mom will notice and then the town will notice then we'll both be in trouble." he told her. Sam looked to were his mom was and he had a couple of minutes before she came back. "I can talk to you by the park after the play, but I'll only have ten minutes before my mom starts to look for me." he said.

Lilly shook her head, "Okay. Can I stay up here and watch the play?" She asked, looking towards his mom.

Sam looked and saw his mother coming. "Yep." he told her and then his mother sat down next to him and handed Sam his drink. He took with a smile as the play started to begin and he hoped that noone would notice Lilly up in the tree. The play had begun and his sister was first to go on.

Lilly watched the play with curiosity. She had never seen anything like it before. She smiled as the actors preformed.

Everything was going quite smooth with the play and with Lilly hidden. Sam was having a good day. The play would soon be over and then he would go off to talk to Lilly before it would time for him to go. After a few minutes the play had finished with a great ending. Sam and his mother went to go see his sister. When that was over, he told his mother that he left something by the lake and she allowed him to go get it. Sam started off towards the park to meet Lilly.

Lilly looked around and saw Sam. She jumped down from the tree. "That was AMAZING!" She said. "I never knew humans were so civilised!" She said. She layed down on the grass smiling. "I want to be human." She said looking at the moon. "Your so lucky...you dont have to hide."

Sam kind of laughed, "Well, its just a play." he rensured her. Then he leaned on a tree and then when she said that she wanted to be human, Sam smiled. "Humans aren't so great all the time. Sometimes who do have to hide, from ourselves." he said. He thought about things that vampires could do. "What is it like being a vampire?" he asked.

Lilly was caught off gaurd, "Its...I guess its like being a human...but we have supper strength and speed...some of us have special gifts too." Lilly closed her eyes, "Those are the ups...the downs are that were viewed as freaks, we feel cold..all the time, and we have to stay out of the sun...no matter how much we love it." She opend them and stared at the moon. "Whats it like to be human?" She asked sitting up and looking over to him. She looked at his blue eyes, getting lost in them as she thought.

Sam listened to everything she had to say and then all he did was nod. Then when she asked about what it was like to be human, he froze. He thought about it for a moment then spoke, "Well, being human in okay. Every year we celebrate that one day that we were born. We age, which is okay if you're young, but not to the people that are older. We're warm, we can get sick easily, and we always have an expiration date. There's nothing really good or bad about being human." He sadi when he looked at her.

Lilly looked at her hands, "I want to be like you." She said. She stood up and walked over to him, "Do you think theres a way?" She asked hopfully.

Sam just looked at her and then looked away. "I don't really know tha anwser to that question." he told her and then his name was being called for him to return home. "I gotta go, my mom's looking for me." he said before leaving. "I'll see ya tomorrow by the lake." He yelled to her as head started to head home.

Lilly sighed, "bye." She said as she started to walk deeper and deeper into the forest.

Sam made it home in time for bed and once he got there. He hugged his sister and told her that she did a good job on the play. Then he went to his room and got ready for bed. Once he was ready, he said a prayer and he jumped into bed and fell asleep.

Lilly walked home slowly. She opend the door and no one was home. She sighed and went to bed.

The next day, Sam had waken up and had made breakfast for his family before he had to do all his chores. After that, he was allowed to go out and have fun. He headed for the lake to have his time of peace.

Lilly woke up and went out into the living room, still no one. 'They must be hunting.' She thought as she cleaned up a little and went outside. It was cold and windy outside, but Lilly couldnt tell. She waked towards the edge of the forest, trying not to be seen by any other vampires along the way. Chip soon found her and scurried up beside her, "Your not planing on seein that human boy again are you?" He asked. Lilly looked at him, "That 'human boy' has a name. It's Sam, and yes I am." She said walking a bit faster. Chip ran up her leg, "You shouldnt. You never listen to me and I always end up being right. This huma- er, Sam, sounds like trouble." Lilly rolled her eyes, "Chip, im fine. I can take care of myself. Whatever trouble I get into i'll fix it on my own." She said as she climbed up a tree. "Now go collect nut...or something." She said, dissapearing into the thick leaves.

Sam arrived at the lake and sat down in his usual. He laid back and took a nap. Sam was quite tried from all the work he does around the house. As he slept, he thought about catching the huge fish and finding a way to get a new fishing pole.

Lilly saw Sam as she climbed threw the trees. She desided to creap up on him, "Pssst!" She whisperd as she looked around to make sure on one eles was there. "Sam." She whisperd, "Wake up. Im here." She said a little louder. "SAM!" She yelled after he wouldnt wake up.

When Sam heard his name, he moved slightly in his sleep. Then when he heard someone yell his name, he woke up with his heartbeating fast. Then when he looked up, he saw Lilly."Oh, its just you." he breathed heavly.

Lilly smiled, "Did I scare you?" She asked. She saw is chest moving very fast, so she came to the assumption that she had. "Sorry Sam." She said sliding down from the tree, carfull not to go in the sun. Her burn still hurt fron the other day.

Sam had looked at her and had gained his breath. "A little." he said with a smile. Then he stood up and strechted, when he saw her sliding down a tree he went to go lean on one with shade. "Make sure you don't touch sunlight." he stated.
