Lilly nodded, "Yes, I know." She said. She looked up nto the tree and saw Chip. "GO AWAY CHIP!" She yelled at him and threw a rock that missed him as he scamperd off.

Sam had laughed to himself and then sat down in the grass. "So, how many vampires are there?" he asked her as he sat down. Then he pulled he knees into his chest.

Lilly was quet for a few minets, she wasnt supposed to tell any humans about this kind of thing. "More than you think." She said, wishing she could say more. "What about humans?" She asked. "I mean...there were rumors going around that your spicies is endangerd." She looked up at him, "Are you?"

Sam nodded his head and then looked at Lilly. "There's a lot of us all over the world." he said and then when she asked if humans were endangered. Well, that was something he never heard, "I don't think we're endangered." he told her.

Lilly pointed to the sky, "What about that black stuff?" She asked jesturing to a cloud of smoke. "I herd that your people have put those things in the air...and that soon there wont be any sky left." She said. She stood and walked almost directly into the sun, but she stopped just centimeters before it could touch her skin. "Why dosnt the sun burn you?" She asked reaching her hand as close to the sunlight as she could without getting burned. She looked up into the blue sky, "Nevermind, you dont have to answer anyo of those questions. Im talking too much." She said closing her eyes.

Sam looked confused with all her questions. "First question, can't anwser. Second, I'm alive is the reason I don't burn no offense." he told her.

Lilly nodded her head, "Sometimes I forget that im dead." She said sitting down, and hugging her knees to her chest. "I want to touch sunlight...and have it not hurt me." She said, looking Sam in the eyes, then quickly looking away.

Sam looked at her and then at the lake. "Well, nobody wants to remember something like that. It would be good to just feel everyday to feel alive." he said before he looked at her again.

Lilly closed her eyes, "I never asked for this." She said. "I dont even remember my human life." She opend her eyes and followed Sam's gaze to the lake. She watched the sparcling, clear blue water as she thought.

Sam's eyes still remained on the water. "Well, what do you remember about being human?" he asked being curious. Sam was always curious baout things he quite didn't understand. He wanted to know more about those things and try to figure it out.

Lilly didnt know how to answer the question at first. "I dont really remember much...wait, I remember always being close to animals. I always knew how they fealt. And I always used to have a dream, then the next day it would happen. I guess that why I got my powers." She said as she watched Sam. "I also remember my mother. She the best person in the world. She had blue eyes that would change to grey if it was cold outside. And her long golden hair was so perfect." Lilly smiled, "But the part I loved most about her was that she was so open minded." Lilly sighed, "I miss her. She was the only one that ever understood me."

Sam listened to the wonderful things she had to about her mother. "So, is that why you talk to that chipmuck and call him Chip?" he asked her. It was kind of strange to know that someone could talk to animals and you're there, but you can't hear them.

Lilly nodded, "Yes. I would introduce you two, but he dosnt like be being around you, let alone being anywhere NEAR a human." Lilly fealt bad because she forgot to mention that she could see the future and comunicate with animals earlier. "What about you? Tell me about yourself." she said laying down and putting her chin in her hands.

Sam laughed and smiled. "Really, wow." he stated before he looked at the water once again. Things about Sam, she wanted to know. "Well, I'm 16 and I take care of my mother and sister because my father died a couple years ago. I love to fish because it relaxs me and it was something my dad taught me and we did together. That's pretty much it." he told her before he looked at Lilly.

Lilly smiled, "You have a lot of resopnsiblity." She said. She noticed that he kept looking at the water, "It brings back good memories dosnt it? The fishing I mean." She smiled at him, thinking.

Sam smiled at her then back at the lake. "Yes it sure does. I might have a lot of responsibilties, but I'll manage." he said. Then he heard a noise and saw that his sister had followed him to the lake. "Sam, who's she?" she asked him.

Lilly gasped and ran up the tree. She looked down at the two humans, terrified.

Sam looked at his sister and then looked at Lilly, "This is Lilly and she's a vampire. Camie" She looked at Lilly and then to Sam. She made him remove his knees from his chest, so that she could sit down in his lap. "Wow, that's cool." she said as she looked at Lilly. "Hi there, I'm Camie and don't worry I won't tell anyone." Sam smiled and then he looked at Lilly, "It's true, she's open-minded like me. She won't tell anyone. come down." she told him.

Lilly studied the two for a few moments, looking from one to the other. She slowly crawled down the trunk of the tree. She sat farther away then she was before, trying to hide herself a little within the trees. "Hi, im Lilly." She whisperd, still staying behind a few branches.

Camie looked at her and smiled. "Don't be afraid, I'm just like my brother. He practically raised me to be open-minded. I really liked vampires, but momma says their evil. She doesn't understand that there's more to a person if they're dead or alive. Sam taught me that." She smiled even more at her brother.

Lilly took a few steps forward, "You did?" She asked. She ducked under a branch and leand on a tree, a few feet away.

Sam just nodded at Lilly as they talked. Camie looked at Sam, the lake, and then Lilly. "Do you have any family?" she asked because she was curious like always.

Lilly looked down, "In a way. There more like adopted me. I used to have family when I was human... but that was a very long time ago. My 'family' is rarely home. When they are, they treat me like a baby." She said. She didnt like talking about her Vampire family very much. Then something clicked, "Were you that girl in the plat the other night?" She asked, a bit more enthusiastic than before.

Camie looked her with a smile, "Well, yes I was." she giggled. Sam gave her a hug and a kiss on the head. "She practiced all by herself to learn the part." he added.

Lilly smiled, "Thats AMAZING!" She said. "That was the best play ever, and it was even better because you were cast as that part." She said smiling.
