Tessa sat staring at the book for a moment. James had questioned a stalker, could this vampire still be following her? "I.. didn't know. He had been chasing me earlier, when Kasimir came for me, that's how I met him and Hiro. I didn't know he was still following me..." she said shaking her head. She had let her guard down when she was reunited with her brother, what a stupid thing to have done. She placed the book in her lap, she would open it tonight to see what it held. Thanking Mizu for her hospitality she placed a fifty dollar bill on the table to cover the food, drinks and tip. She knew Mizu had offered, but it was the least she could do in return for Mizu's kindness. Upon their parents death, her and James had inherited a large sum of money. Then they had sold their home to travel in search of their parents killers and aquired even more money. Tessa never let on how much money that actually was, but she wasn't broke, to say the least. The quakes had slowly stopped by now and Tess looked around the table, "If everyone is finished, I really could use a shower," she said clutching the book in her lap. She needed a shower and sleep, but she really wanted to flip through this book. Maybe it would hold some clues about this vampire who was following her.

Michael's eyes opened slowly as he woke up from his short sleep. He looked out onto the balcony, just staring into the sky, before sighing and sitting up, stretching, looking to the clock and nodded, satisfied with how much sleep he had gotten. Luckily he didn't need as much sleep as others to get going.

Enna walked out of the amusement park happily. It had been super fun! She walked down the city streets not particularly going any where special. She was hungry and she spotted a small cafe. "Maybe I'll get something to eat there." She walked in and sat at a table ordering some tea and cake. She adored sweets with a passion. She munched on her cake happily and was able to ignore the world around her.

Liam met Iyzebel's look for many moments before he finally looked away. She was right - everyone did deserve happiness. Even if it was just the semblance of it, it was needed to keep everyone moving. The hunter let his gaze lower to the ground before him. "Jaz, help her with her shirt."
The navy-haired male turned to leave, his anger finally slipping from him like water through his fingers. He let out a quiet sigh as he moved into the next room in order to give the girls a bit of privacy. Jaz was . . . absolutely stunned when she heard that her brother left the room. Her silvery eyes were wide as she carefully reached forward to find the shirt. "He's . . . just upset," she said, trying to smooth things over a bit. It was a few seconds later when the girl continued in a whisper. "He loved you? He truly loved you?" She sounded surprised. It wasn't often that a vampire took a keen interest in food or cattle. Absentmindedly she reached back to tug her striped purple and black shirt down. It had the tendency to hike up when she leaned over - which she was doing in order to help Iyzebel. |
Riku-kun slowly opened his eyes, feeling incredibly sleepy until his eyes shot open in shock. With a cry of fear and revulsion, he threw away the severed arm that he had been holding and looked around, taking it all in with growing fear and disgust until he collapsed to the ground, vomiting. After a few moments he stood up again, saying quietly, "God, Rikku-chan... why do you do these things? Why!" He looked up as he heard the sounds of police sirens and ran out of the (that one room in hospitals where all the babies are after they're born, y'know, with the windows so new parents can look in and stuff) room, slipping once in the blood soaked linoleum floor as he got to the hall and ran down to the window at the end. Opening it, he sighed first with relief at the sight of the fire escape, but then again in fear as he saw how far up they were, four stories. Gulping and closing his eyes, he stepped out and started, slowly, making his way down the stairs, saying to himself, "Man, I hate heights... but I need to get out of here, I can't go back to the White Building. All the white doctors, with their white lab coats, and white halls, and white, soft rooms. It's just too much white, and Rikku-chan hates white. Can't go back or she'll make the white building crimson like she did last time. I have to get out of here!" He made it to the bottom of the fire escape and jumped down, stumbling as he landed before running down the alley, just as the first police officer stumbled into the baby room, stopped, and turned around to vomit. According to the chart on the wall, there had been 20 newborn infants in the room, but now it was blood soaked, silent, and had scattered... parts. On the wall, painted in the blood with the arm Riku-kun had tossed aside used as a paintbrush, was a simple message, saying, 'Happy Birthday." Blocks away from the hospital, Riku-kun collapsed against the wall of the alley, sitting down and looking at his blood-caked hands for a few seconds before simply rolling down the sleeves of the orange straight-jacket, blood stains, both new and old, all over it. He simply stared at the other wall of the alley before breaking into tears.
(OOC: forgot to mention it in the profile, but he's supposed to look pretty effeminate, even as Riku-kun, in both voice and looks, so much so that it wouldn't be hard to mistake him as a girl) |
Kasimir had grinned and leaned in close. Giving Mizu's ear a slight nibble as he whispered. "Allow me to keep you and your bed warm tonight?" That hand gave her thigh another gentle but firm squeeze. His lips moved, placing a sweet kiss on her cheek before he pulled back slightly. He glanced to Tessa and her brother, for the most part ignoring them. He was more interested in Mizu's response...however...the theif's fingers did twitch quite a bit when Tess tossed such a large amount of money on the table, and his eyes did linger on it for a moment. He knew better, he wouldn't snatch it. His eyes moving back to watch Mizu.
Alistair shrugged lightly. "Kasimir and I have already offered protection to Tessa, we would not let a stalker or anyone else harm her. She is our friend." Alistair glanced at Kasimir, but he said nothing to the German, just watched him rather closely when Tessa had put the money on the table. When Kasimir's attention went back to Mizu, Alistair's returned to Tessa and her brother. |
James nodded to Hiro, he at least seemed trustworthy, and he stood to help his sister out of the booth. He'd nibbled on his bottom lip for a few moments before deciding something then glanced at Mizu. "Ms. Tatsumaki, a double room for me and Tess is fine." He'd answered the girl, trying so very hard not to show his disapproval over her letting the blonde male treat her in such a way. Call him old-fashioned or a prude, words didn't matter to him, but he just didn't not think that was the proper way to treat women.
Mizu's breath hitched as he leaned in close, humming softly at the nibble, but sapphire eyes hardened at his words as a sudden feeling of hurt and cheapness flooded through her. "Maybe if you don't treat me like a cheap whore." She hissed at him before she pulled her legs up from under the table to stand in the booth and, using the clear space in the middle of the table, vaulted away from Kasimir effortlessly. She smiled tightly to the two siblings as she pulled her gloves back on, rolling the bunched fabric at the wrists to show they actually extended to her elbow. She left the mini sweater off, not really needing it since it wouldn't be a far walk from here to the hotel, just two blocks away. "Just follow me ok? And don't call me 'Ms. Tatsumaki'. Mizu is just fine." She told them as she furiously glided from the establishment, only pausing a few minutes outside. She sighed and relished the chilly air, suddenly feeling guilty at what she said to Kasimir, and debated going back in to apologize. She chuckled, that was the second time today that she felt like apologizing to someone. |
Kasimir had blinked at Mizu's reaction. His lips slightly parted, to apologize or assure her when she vaulted over the table and left him there. The German remained like that for a moment, honestly caught off guard. Had he really made her so angry? She didn't love him, it had just been a night of carnal pleasure, as far as he could tell she didn't really have a reason to be angry. Kasimir startled slightly when Alistair pinched his arm and nodded as the Vampire spoke, then he watched his friend walk away. Kasimir sighed, slowly stood and slowly followed them. He stayed a few steps behind them.
Alistair had stood, and watched Kasimir and Mizu. Shaking his head softly, he stood there, waiting for Kasimir to get up, but the German seemed rather startled. So he reached over and pinched the man's arm. Getting a wince from the German. "Kasimir. If you don't want people angry at you, you shouldn't use them in such ways." Alistair turned and walked away, knowing Kasimir would catch up to them soon enough once he had collected his thoughts. The vampire strode up to Mizu and whispered softly to her. "Come now, do you honestly believe that Kas sees you only as a cheap whore?" He had glanced over his shoulder at the sulky, pouty German. |
Mizu startled, letting out a loud gasp and jumping a foot in the air. "Jesus Effin' Christ! Thats the second time I've not paid attention and get startled." She shouted out loud before sighing and raking a hand through the blue locks. She glanced back and frowned at the pouting blonde, it just didn't look right on him. "No. I don't know really." She murmured, glancing again to the blonde. She...Needed someone to talk to but didn't want the risk of Kasimir hearing. "Hiro, is it alright if I talk to you privately? I...need some advice." She asked softly after a few minutes of walking toward the hotel she stayed in, glancing back once more, more to check that no one was directly behind her. She was suddenly very nervous.
|
Alistair had the decency to look apologetic when she jumped and exclaimed loudly. He was silent for a few moments though. Letting her speak and glancing back at Kasimir. The German was still pouting and he was within eye sight of them but not close enough to hear them clearly, especially if they whispered. Alistair glanced at Tessa and her brother. The vampire would be able to hear them, he was sure, no matter how quietly they whispered. "You are Kasimir's friend, and so I would like to think of you as my friend as well, so of course you may speak to me privately. I cannot guarantee that I will be able to give you good advice though." He smiled kindly to her.
Kasimir kicked a pebble, his hands shoved in his pockets. He was doing a good job of looking exceptionally pouty and sulky, at least he thought he was. The German was pretty sure Mizu bought the act, but Alistair always had a way of seeing through him. Sometimes it was unnerving and sometimes it was frustrating and whenever he said something about it to the vampire, Alistair would merely shrug and say it was intuition. Then again, after living a long time and observing humans, Kasimir figured the vampire was just really good at reading people. He blinked, when he thought Mizu was glancing back at him, he slumped his shoulders just a bit more and let out a soft sigh. |
"He loved me for as much as he could, he didn't spend so much time with me just to eat me..." she chuckled a little. "I think some part of me still loves him, but I want someone who I at least know has me in mind, not just owning me. Heh, someone like your brother would be nice," she said this softly and just to Jaz. She shifted a little so that Jaz could better help her.
She wished her life was different, wished that certain things had and hadn't happened. If only she would have known, maybe she would have stayed with her sister. With the innocence that came with being a human. Some people assumed that all vampires were evil, she was living proof that this wasn't true. Who could ever say that all humans were innocent? All she'd ever known was gone forever, and she was all that was left standing. How could she be happy about this? The fleeting happiness she'd found had shattered into a trillion pieces never to be found again. And she almost wished it hadn't sometimes. The only thing she ever wished for was her sister to be alive. And she knew that it would never happen. Though she knew had she ever met someone like Liam, her life would have been better. She was glad to have met these two and kept them from a more horrible fate of finding a vampire like Detric. He would have slaughtered Jaz in front of Liam before convincing him to shot himself. She shivered at the thought of what may have happened had she been a different vampire. She didn't need to think like that, it didn't matter. Other vampires weren't her concern, these two were. |
Mizu snorted, her last glance had seen the extra slump and the sigh, now she was beginning to wonder if he was playing her for a fool. "Thanks. Um...What would you do if you knew your life was in danger continiously, and you cared for someone who you're not sure likes you back, but you don't want to risk getting the other hurt?" She asked, quietly, though she'd been tempted to mention that the other was a shameless flirt but that'd be too obvious. "He's pretending to sulk, huh?" She murmured, catching a reflection in one of the store front windows of the group behind them.
|
Jaz's eyes widened dramatically, even though she couldn't see. "Oh, no. You don't want someone as protective as Liam. He doesn't allow the air to pass through your lungs without him knowing." She smiled a bit though, and finally helped Iyzebel get her shirt on correctly. "He loves me. I know he does. He's just a bit rough around the edges sometimes." The youth laughed, quirking a pierced brow. "I didn't even know a vampire was capable of love."
Wrinkling her nose, the girl shook her head. "I also didn't know that my brother was capable of leaving me with a stranger for more than ten seconds." As though he'd overheard that comment there was a knock on the door's wooden frame. "Finished?" He didn't wait for an answer. Stepping back into the room he passed Iyzebel a glass of water and placed a matching cup in Jasmine's hand. "You should rest. You look ready to pass out." His brown eyes flit over Iyzebel momentarily before moving back to his silver-haired sister. The hunter looked uncomfortable for a moment, hesitating. As though reading his thoughts, the younger of the two spoke first. "We . . . have no place to stay for the night," she said quietly. "I don't mean to ask so much, but could we stay here until dawn? It's just . . . not safe to be on the streets." ((O_O' Wow, are these two glad they didn't get involved with Detric.)) |
Alistair had blinked, glancing over his shoulder at Kasimir again and shaking his head slightly. "He isn't really pouting or sulking. Your words did hurt him, but I imagine they did not hurt him half as much as the way he treated you as hurt you." He shrugged slightly and blinked at her when she asked that question. He found it to be an odd question. He was in constant danger, from hunters and those of his kind, yet for some reason Kasimir enjoyed his company enough to risk being exposed to those kinds of dangers. "Tell the person about the danger you are in. Let them decide if they wish to be with you through it or not." Alistair said the words simply, as if it were the easiest thing in the world, he continued to speak. "I am always in danger, but Kasimir tells me he doesn't mind, because having a friend is worth the risk. He told me once, that if he or I die it would be alright. Sure he would be sad if I were the one to die, but he would still have all the memories of our time together. He said to me, it didn't matter, even if he wasn't around me, I would still face those dangers, and that he was in constant danger from my kind anyway for being human, he told me, we might as well stick together for a while, because on day our dangers may get the best of us, but at least we wouldn't be facing them alone. He told me, it is better to face such things with a friend at your side than alone." Alistair paused for a moment, though he didn't really need to to take a breath. "He only acts the way he does to hide the scars of his heart."
|
She nibbled on her bottom lip, her typical tick when she's thinking carefully about something. Pale fingers poking through the black gloves tousled her hair once more as she tilted her head to the side. "I guess...That makes sense...As for his treatment of me, I don't normally mind. But I guess I was still sore about what he did before. He was my first..." She murmured, though why she continued to now didn't make much sense, except for that last part. She was willing to bet Kas hadn't even known that detail, even they'd shared a bed. Gymnastics training had been gruelling and when she'd been injured in her pelvis one year, thats when she found out. Mizu looked up at him, the corners of her eyes crinkling lightly as she smiled. "I could tell you know, when you first walked over to the table, that you and Kasimir had been companions for a while. And I'll admit I was a little jealous. I only had a few days of his friendship. So I guess thats why I don't really understand..." She started speaking normally, trailing off at the last part even as she slowed down to let the others catch up and glancing back to offer a small, forgiving smile.
|
Alistair nodded slightly. "You should not be jealous, Kasimir is my friend, but he is also your friend. You have had friendship with Kasimir longer than just a few days, if ever you called him, he would come running to your side as fast as possible. He has the personality of a cat I think, but the loyalty of a dog. He wanders whichever way suits him best depending on his mood, but if his friend calls him, is in danger, needs help I know he would rush to their side. You should not judge him too harshly." Alistair paused for a moment, then shook his head slightly. Deciding something. "Kasimir is hard to handle sometimes, but deep down he is a good person." He had glanced over his shoulder and grimaced. Kasimir had stopped in the opening of alleyway and was rummaging through the pockets of a corpse that had been over looked by the clean up crew. "Rather shameless about most things, but still. I suppose that is part of his charm?" He glanced at Mizu and flashed her a smile. "He is your friend. He cares for you, I cannot tell how deeply he cares for you, but I know he cares. You should talk to him about some of these things, I'm sure."
|
She'd started to nod in agreement with im, though the grimace made her curious and look behind to see the blonde pick-pocketing the forgotten dead, which out in the back alleys, most of them were. "If thats shameless then I suffer the same. But then again, I don't steal from just everyone, and I don't really see it as stealing. Just...acquiring something no one would miss anyway." She shrugged at her own words, sometimes she'd hated it, but she needed the money to survive. Her words suddenly made her think of the mother-daughter duo she'd acquired her newest electronics from, and she placed her hands together in a soft prayer for them. When finished she caught Hiro's smile and smiled back. "Yeah. Once we get to the rooms."
|
Tessa and James had been following silently behind the group. She was curious as to why this vampire Weston was following her. She honestly didn't think he meant her any harm, as he'd had plenty of chances if he'd really wanted too. She sighed, this city was a strange place. She was learning more about herself and her foes as the hours passed, all the while becoming more separated from the hunter she once took so much pride in being. The others had stopped ahead. Walking to stand beside them Tessa felt something on her face. She reached up to wipe whatever it had been and smeared ash across her cheek. The ash from the eruption had finally reached their city and was slowly begining to fall from the sky. Tessa stood staring up at it for a moment falling like snow, the city would soon be covered in a blanket of this mess. People were surely taking cover inside buildings and homes by now as to not be covered by it, but Tess still just stared. She found it to be a beautiful sight. It had been many many years since the last snow, which was predicted never to happen again. She looked around at the group to see if everyone was still there, "We should get inside before we become ash scupltures, or this mess causes an outage."

Mach swiveled round and round in her little chair at the control panels and sighed. She was bored. The plant was running smoothly for the first few hours in a long time, which was good, but left the girl with little to do. She softly rested her head on the panel, being careful not to accidentally hit any buttons or switches, and listened to the life-like hum of the machines.
She smiled. Most believed that the machines were dead, but somehow...at times like this, they seemed so alive. She pushed backward from the panel, sending the rolling chair across the room to a small window. Flakes of grey floated through the air like snow. Quite enchanting, really. The belly of the volcano was filled with fire, but these flakes seemed almost gentle. An alarm went off in the building, moderate level alarm. "Build up on Coolant Tower 2. Possible shutdown to prevent overheating if not cleared." quipped a metallic female voice from the computer by the control panels. She sighed. They weren't gentle at all, she supposed. She went back to the control panel, hit a rather blue button, and a small microphone popped out of the console. "Please send a group of five to clear the ash around the tower and put up something to cover the top of the tower. Don't forget your haz-mat suits." She said into the mike. A male operator on the other end said something to the tone of acknowledgement. She swiveled over to another console and lowered the amount of coal going into the furnace and decreased the turbine speeds, rerouting the water to coolant towers 1 and 4, as well as backup 5. ((did you know that there's this really nasty bacteria that grows in coolant towers in power plants that will KILL you ._. people have to wear haz mat suits to go into the coolant towers because of that )) |
(lolz, I always have to have one super violent character, they're usually female though... But yes be glad, he ish not a nice person... He slaughtered her twin sister and then scarred her because he's unhinged for some dark unknown reason)
"I don't mind, just don't shot anyone. I do have weapons stored here if you need more." she said with a smile, and looked at Jaz. "You're about my size, Jaz, you can sleep in my bed, your brother will take the couch since it turn's into a bed." She opened her closet and pulled out a big t-shirt a pack of undies and a new bra. "Here, I keep things just incase, so you can use these for tonight and then you can even have more tomorrow, because you guys saved my lives, I'm grateful." she smiled again and then looked and found some pants and boxers that should fit Liam. "You want a shirt?" she asked absentmindedly as she sat back on the bed, making sure not to bounce so she didn't jar her shoulder. For some odd reason, she wanted to help these two out. She knew she could get them a room or rooms here. Or even have Divine, her sorta stalker set them up. She was only hoping she wouldn't get rejected. She had a big heart, and these two did need some help. |
Michael looked up at the sky as ash began to fall and grimaced before turning around and heading back inside, closing the balcony doors behind him, saying, "Damn ash, so disgusting." He left the bedroom and stepped into the suite's living room, sitting at the table where a traditional English breakfast was waiting for him. He began eating but stopped and looked up when one of his bodyguards came up to him, offering him a vanilla envelope with the symbol of the British crown on it, the guard saying, "Here's the information on that woman you requested your majesty." Michael nodded, taking it and flipping through it as he ate.
Riku-kun looked up into the sky as the ash began to fall as he wiped away his tears, saying, "Ash... it almost looks like snow, but not white. Yeah, I know that's why you like it, and I know you hate white, you don't need to keep reminding me you know. Yeah, I'll look for someplace to sleep." He got up and left the alley, making his way down the sidewalk, looking for condemned building or something to sleep in. |
Ash had begun to fall, and Kasimir was already coughing. Quickly he pocketed what he'd taken from the corpse and ran full out. One hand covered his mouth and nose. Inhaling too much of that stuff, he was sure it was dangerous. The ash already irritated his lungs like crazy anyway, he was sure it didn't affect others quite as badly as it affected him, but he was the same away around certain scented soaps and perfumes. It made his lungs feel like they were full of a thick smog and like he couldn't breathe properly. Kasimir did not like that feeling at all. It only took him a few moments to reach the group. "It's dangerous to breath too much of this in, anyway." He'd gotten there just as Tessa made her comment about becoming ash sculptures.
Alistair had blinked his eyes a few times and wrinkled his nose slightly when the ash begun to fall. He had scented it just a little bit before it had actually reached them, but the vampire had expected them all to be inside a building by now. When the ash had started falling, he had turned to watch Kasimir. A subtle shift in his muscles and Alistair had been ready to rush to the German if he thought he might need to. He didn't though, as Kasimir rushed towards them. When the German reached them, he reached out to put his hand on the blonde's shoulder. "Kasimir is right, ash can be very harmful to human lungs." His hand slipped from the German's shoulder so he could poke Kasimir lightly in the center of the chest. "We should hurry inside." Alistair gazed at Mizu. As she was the one leading them. |
((Sorry was having comp issues, and temporarily was getting database errors when I was trying to get here))
Mizu frowned, staring up at the sky as the particles fell. It reminded her of snow, and she almost let out her inner childishness and spin around. But she didn't, and noticing the others had caught up and were looking nervous. Letting off a quiet 'right' she quickly started walking again, making a sharp turn up some stairs on her right. "In here." She said as she held open the door, holding out two key cards for the others. "The rooms are just down the hallway behind the registeration desk. 1100 is my room, 1101 is across the hall." She told them but reached in a back pocket for a third key. "I don't know if you want your own room or not Hiro, but that key is a master and go anywhere you like." She offered with a shrug. James stayed near his sister, he was nervous about the possibility of someone stalking Tessa. It also made him angry. Shaking it off though, he didn't want to worry his sister after all, he seemingly glided up the stairs and grabbed the right key from Mizu before Tess could. Storm grey eyes looked around critically at the less than stellar conditions, old dried stains on the floor and some of the furniture, a few broken tables under the far windows. He glanced at Mizu, one eyebrow lifted as if to ask 'Seriously?'. But then again he could understand, the place was isolated, one could hide here and not be found. |
Jaz gladly accepted the clothing that was offered, blushing a bit when she found out what it was. "Thank you," she breathed, and then started to feel her way toward the bathroom. She said something about getting ready before closing the door behind her.
From where he was sitting Liam frowned toward Iyzebel. "I'll be fine." Of course, about an hour later the shirt disappeared . . . and the hunter changed. It was nice to feel clean clothes once again; traveling never really gave them much time to stop at the laundromat. "The ash is falling again." His brown eyes were locked on the "snow" falling outside. "It's like it will never stop." The male sighed, turning his attention to the woman once again. "Do you remember what it was like? Before all this?" |
"No, I've come to live with it... The sun isn't something I liked much before the ash became so frequent anyway, so I don't miss it much..." she said with a shrug of her shoulders. She didn't miss it much because of that, can couldn't bear it because of her vampirism. But that was fine with her, so long as she didn't let Liam find out. She liked these two, they were very different from other humans.
She laid down carefully on her belly and then yawned. "The blanket is on the small chair if you want it, it's thick though, cuz I'm always cold." she said idly as she picked up her book to continue reading. She lived mostly like a human, except for eating and such things, and going out into the sun. But she liked her life, her simple quiet life. It would hopefully be this way no matter what happened. She didn't give much thought to if the sun was shining tomorrow, or what would happen past all this. She just wasn't going to worry because it did nothing for her or them. She was just going to deal with it as she did everything else. When it happened and not before. She prayed fervently that she wouldn't have to explain things to Liam before she gained his trust. |
