Aware of Kemper and Snipe behind her, both with their guns placed on the newcomers, Dani purposely stepped in front of them, blocking their line of fire as she helped support the man as best she could. When he was through, Dani responded. "Yeah, I have medicines and bandages. Come on, bring her to my place."

Thorn didn't seem happy about the newcomers, no more so than he had about Kemper, Blair, Snipe, and the man anyway. But he flew back to Dani's arm as she put it out, ruffling his feathers menacingly. Seeing a glint of metal out of the corner of her eye, Dani paused before going over to investigate. It was an electric scooter! Thank God for her luck!

Wheeling it over to the man, she motioned for him to get on. "It's electric! It'll keep your injury from getting worse on the way to my place," Dani said, patting the seat. She could walk after all, though if Kemper and Snipe ran, she'd be left behind. Her tiny legs were no good with running fast. Long distances, yes, but not fast.

When the doors opened Kemper eyed the two, both clearly hurt. He frowned knowing what needed to be done he nodded to Snipe, knowing he was thinking the same. He cocked his gun. When Dani placed herself between them, he waited gun still drawn. The male spoke, informing them they were not infected. The chances they were just wounded were great, but the chances that they were lying were equally as great. He lowered his gun but didn't put it away, keeping his distance he would follow behind the group in case either of the two changed. The large flood lights above the city walls were more than enough light to light up every inch of the ground inside the walls. He wondered if they ever attracted the walking dead, not that Dani would know, nor need to as she had always been locked safely inside her city. He looked to the group again waiting for them to move.

Valen glanced at the young-looking female as she patted the scooter. Shaking his head, he smiled politely. "No, I'll be fine. Trinity is the one who needs to get help quickly. She's had this fever for a few days, hasn't been able to keep any foods or liquids down either." He replied, though his icy blue eyes landed on the large looking male. Staring at him made Valen feel rather weak and useless. Rolling his shoulders as he tried to adjust his grip on the long haired red head, he gasped at the twinge of pain from his side, Trinity's legs dropping his arms and he feel to one knee. "Gah...Sorry Rini." He said softly, pulling her arm over his shoulders and standing again slowly. "Would it be alright for you to carry her? I probably wouldn't have lasted anyway. I don't think we were followed either." Valen commented, turning to the male, though he was still nervous about the gun.

Overhearing the conversation, Fenris stood up and said, "I'll do it." Slinging the Rifle over hs shoulder, He lifted the girl in a fireman's carry. She was surprisingly light, as if she hadn't eaten in far too long. Looking at her, Fenris thought that she was rather cute. Shaking his head, he thrust the thought aside. He wasn't sure about the relationship that these two had, and he didn't want to cause any problems. "Where to?" he asked Dani.

Frowning at the man, Dani was about to insist that he and the girl ride the scooter, firmly. But Snipe had already taken him. Still slightly angry at his foolish rejection, she started for home. "This way," she said, voice terse. There were medicines at her house. Tylenol, penicillin, etc. They should help the girl out.

Arriving back at her house, Dani threw open the door before stalking to the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. Upon entering, Thorn had taken off from her shoulder, perching on his favorite wooden rod to stare at the newcomers with his intense eagle-stare. Pulling bottles from the medicine cabinet, Dani skimmed the symptoms they cured before setting them back. So far she had found two that were meant to reduce fever, though they couldn't be taken together. Unfortunately, the children's Tylenol probably wouldn't do for the girl what it would for Dani, so that left Ibuprofen.

Emerging from the bathroom, she entered the kitchen, grabbing a little mallet and a bottle of water on the way to the counter. A few pounds later, and the pill was dust, which was added to the water and shaken thoroughly. Then she took a pin, pounded it through the cap, pulled it out, and walked back into the living room, radiating a strangely dispassionate air. Impatiently, she motioned for the man to set the girl down on her couch.

Following Dani, Fenris was very careful to hold the new girl gently, and avoid all the bumps in the road. When they arrived at one of the houses, Fenris Gently lay the girl down on the couch that was pointed out, and then he crossed the room to lean on the wall. He was worried that the girl might be infected, so he was gong to protect Dani.

Nodding in satisfaction that Snipe had put the girl down as directed, Dani gently tilted her head back before putting the bottle in her mouth. Then she squeezed gently, allowing a trickle to go down the girl's throat, which she swallowed by reflex. From the corner of her eye, she watched the other injured person from before, who appeared to be sleeping soundly on her other couch.

Sensing his companion's mood, Thorn ruffled his feathers and gave a squawk. He stretched his razor sharp talons around the board, leaving decent sized chinks and gouges in the hard wood. They would certainly cause some damage to anyone who was foolish enough to hurt Dani.

"It's ibuprofen and water, so it should get reduce the fever," Dani said, again in her strangely apathetic voice. This level of emotionlessness was extremely odd for her, which was part of the reason Thorn was so agitated. She had never been this way before, even when she had been living here by herself and Thorn was too small to hunt for himself. It truly was a strange phenomenon.

When the new stranger asked Kemper to carry the girl he was relieved that Snipe piped in to carry her. He didn't know what it was about him that drew people to him, in need of his help and even company. Perhaps it was his strong and muscular physique, perhaps his kind eyes that always gave him away when he was trying to be the tough guy. Plus, he wasn't sure if this girl was really infected or not, she looked to have clear symptoms of someone who would be changing within the hour, and he didn't want to be holding her if she did. Eyeing Snipe as he lifted the girl he smirked. He could read Snipe like an open book, always could, and he could see the attraction Snipe felt towards the girl. He followed behind them as they walked back to the house keeping a close eye on the girl. She was pretty attractive he had to admit. As they entered the house Kemp shot a short wave to Blair as to say "It's under control" when she dropped the dish. As Snipe layed the girl on the second couch Kemper put some distance between himself and her, leaning against the kitchen counter where Blair was doing dishes.

Blair had cleared the table and stove by now and was washing dishes thoughtfully, peeking over at the stranger with the IV every now and again. She wondered if Dani would take them up on her offer to travel North with them and leave all of this behind. Of course she would, she couldn't live here alone... She was almost done when she found herself wondering if Kemper and the others were doing ok when the front door opened. She looked over her shoulder to see Snipe bringing a girl inside who looked deathly ill, like she was infected with the virus. Blair dropped the plate and sponge as she turned to reach for her pistol. Were they crazy bringing that girl here!? She shot a look to Kemper as he signaled her to relax, moving to stand beside her. She turned the water off and watched as Dani medicated the sick girl hoping for all of their sakes that she truely was sick with anything else but the virus. The raptor screeched making Blair jump, she certainly wasn't used to that sound. The bird was beautiful, and dangerous looking. Blair was slightly creeped out by him, but respected him greatly knowing he was smart, and Dani's only companion. She looked to the new man in the room as she walked to stand in front of him. "I'm Blair" she said with a smile. "Are you ok? Can I help you?" she paused before looking over to his friend, "If she is infected..." she turned to look him in the eye, not wanting to say the words that everyone already knew.

Valen sighed as he noticed the female was rather mad at him. He hadn't meant it the way it came out, he just didn't want to admit not knowing what the hell that thing had been, let alone not knowing how to use it. Anxiously he followed the one carrying his companion, then watched the young girl from earlier feed Trinity some liquid. Nodding to her, he went to go sit by her, but paused as a brunette stepped in front of him. Holding his hands up in a surrendering motion, he shook his head. "I understand, but I swear to you she is not infected. She came down with a fever, it had been light at first, two days ago. No wounds were on her, I'd already healed them. By last night it had progressed to her not being able to walk on her own, puking food back up, and the fever hitting over 102. Frankly if she had been infected, the virus cell would have been over heated and died by that point. Unable to regenerate as well when she got better." He explained vaguely, not really paying attention to what he was saying anyway as he was more concerned about Trinity. Moving around the brunette he settled on the floor next to the couch before laying his head down, sleep making his eyes drift shut.

Trinity groaned softly before it turned into a fit of dry hacking coughs. Brown eyes cracked open, blearily looking around. Muscles tensed to get up and run, but she paused as her fingers brushed Valen's hair and her gaze landed on the male furthest away from her. Squinting her eyes, she gasped, devolving into another fit of coughs. "Jesus I'm doomed now." She whispered roughly, eyes closing as she looked at the ceiling quickly before looking back at the male with a grin. "Well shit if it ain't little Corporal Borowicz." She tried to chuckle, but it went to coughing again. "I hope you've gained some medic skills Corporal, I really hate leaving my health in the hands of the untrained." She commented breathily, trying to grin to take the sting of her words out.

People talking, moving about. Slowly Alice opened his eyes to the unfamiliar ceiling and some partly familiar voices. More or less. He blinked once or twice and moved to sit up, licking his lips. His mouth was only a little dry, and a slight twinge of soreness brought his attention to his arm. Steel blue, nearly grey eyes narrowed at the IV in his arm, he shuddered lightly and glanced at the others. So many strangers in one room, Alice shuddered again, inhaled deeply, held his breath and pulled the IV out with a slight wince as he let out the breath he held. Slowly the young man stood only to sit back down with a soft sigh. He felt so weak. Weak and useless. He was hungry and thirsty. He still felt tired.

Alice ran a hand through his hair and leaned back some on the couch, those eyes not looking at the other people that were crowded around the other couch. He watched the IV cord dangle from the coat rack it had been hung from for a moment and then dropped his gaze to watch as a few drops of blood beaded on his skin where the IV needle had been.

When the man moved around her and sat in the floor next to his friend, Blair couldn't help but feel bad for him. She knew how he was feeling, worried about his friend, not knowing if she was going to survive or not. Blair didn't know them, but she trusted him when he said the girl wasn't infected. When the man with the IV sat and pulled the IV out Blair shook her head at him. He really was stubborn. As the blood beaded on his arm she grabbed the roll of guaze and medical tape from her pack and sat next to him. Knowing he would slap her away, she quickly grabbed his arm, "Just sit still" she said sternly, and rolled a thin layer of gauze over the hole and taped it down. She couldn't help but notice the scars that lined his arms, but kept to herself knowing he probably wasn't much for story telling, especially since the scars were probably from something awful. When she was done she tossed the things back into her bag and turned to observe the others for a moment before turning to him again and smiling, "Thanks for helping us earlier. You didn't have to do that, and you risked your life to do it. It's clear you're not one to ask for or accept help, but know that I'll jump at anything you need, so don't hesitate to shove that ego aside and ask sometime..." she said studying him for a moment, he was probably starving by now. "I'm Blair" she offered. "Can I get you something to eat? Dani, the small girl there made a wonderful dinner while you slept..." The girl on the couch was waking. Blair's attention shot to her. She trusted that the man believed she wasn't going to turn into a zombie, but that didn't mean he was right. She was having coughing fits as she said something about being doomed. Was she talking to Kemper? As she went through another coughing spell she continued speaking to him, yes, they knew eachother from somewhere...

Kemper watched Blair as she moved to offer help to the new man. He sighed. Blair to the rescue as always, he thought, grinning slightly at her. He would never admit it to her or anyone else, but she surely had grown on him. He was still leaning against the counter watching the group when the girl on the couch began to move around, as she woke into a coughing fit, before landing her gaze on him and claiming her doom. When she called him by name he frowned over at her. Did she know him from somewhere? The only people who called him Corporal Borowicz were people he knew in the military, and even then, his friends still typically called him Kemper. 'Medic skills' echoed in his head for a moment as he realized how he knew her, a large grin plastered to his face. "Rini. I almost didn't recognize you, looking like the walking dead and all." He made his way to stand behind the couch that Blair and the man who'd had the IV were sitting on, still talking to Trinity, who he had only known as Rini. "I've seen my fair share of medical emergencies since then, if that's what you're getting at" he said, smile still plastered so wide his dimples showed. "Can't say I've saved any lives though." That was a blatant lie, he'd saved people before, women, children... but he had an image to uphold. "But I do owe you my life, Rini, so I'll try not to get you killed" he said with a wink.

Anniebelle begins to wonder what's going on outside the walls of the Langdon Estate, she hasn't been beyond it's barricading walls in such a long time, that it's practically suffocating her. She walks into her Fathers lab to see if he there, but he wasn't, so she left the lab with not a word said and headed out towards the front lawn.

Today she's adorned almost twenty pounds of light steel mesh, her combat boots, a black leotard, and a pair of spandex shorts, with her sword belted to her side.

She begins her effortless jog to the front gates and ascends the ladder to scout her surroundings, the coast was almost clear, whatever her Father was doing was decimating the number of zombies around the manor, it was somewhat relieving to see less abominations this week--compared to the previous weeks. She sat on the eight foot wall for a while, just watching. She would have to come down after a while to attend her training, but until then she took in the fresh air and gazed up at the sky thinking of her mother.

Alice's body tensed when the girl sat next to him, and even more so when she grabbed his arm and told him to sit still. He eyed her with what could only be called a mistrustful eye. He grit his teeth, it was obviously an effort for him to not smack her away or jump up and move away from her. Finally she released him and he scooted a bit away from her. She was saying something about his ego being in his way. Alice shook his head, ego had nothing to do with anything.

People could not be trusted. It had been a hard lesson, but one he had learned very well before the zombie outbreak had ever happened.

As the military man moved behind the couch that he and the female were sitting on, Alice shivered. Glancing over his shoulder warily. So many strangers, too many people. He had to get away. He'd do better on his own, because on his own, there was no fear of being stabbed in the back.

Weakly grinning in return to his, she sighed softly. "Waking dead my ass. Even sick I look better than them shits. And I'm sure you saved plenty lives." Swallowing thickly, Trinity tried to stave off another bought of coughing. She frowned mildly as she noticed her southern accent started to show through, really it only did so when she was pissed, drunk, or sick. Shaking her head she mumbled something about big bad army guys needing to keep their image as she relaxed in the couch, yawning. This had to have been the longest she'd been awake ever. "Since s'not yer piss poor med skills takin care'a me an Val, make sure I get fever reducer e'ery 6hrs. Addin cough meds now would be bad, dun mix well. Cough drops later." She drawled, slowly falling back sleep, unconsciously letting her fingertips brush against Valen's hair as if still worried about him.

Anniebelle stretched, then pulled the CB Radio from her belt, starting with channel one to see if anyone would respond, she knew some of the old military channels, but figured they would be a waste of time.

Leaving each channel on for a few minutes, she spoke into it softly, "Hello? Is anyone there, do you read me?"

Channel after channel, she spoke repeating herself, hoping for the crackle of an incoming transmission, another voice, a reply, someone to talk to.

Kemper could see the man sitting on the couch in front of him looking tense, as if he were going to stand and bolt out the door at any moment. Looking down at him he said, "Relax, I'm not gonna eat ya'", before moving aroud the couch to stand where the man could easily see him and his actions. When Rini mumbled some instructions before falling back asleep he half hoped Dani or Blair had been paying attention and would take care of it. But he did owe her his life for what she had done for him all those years ago in the military, so he would see to it that she was properly cared for. All of a sudden his mini CB made a loud static sound. He looked down at his hip, "What? This thing hasn't made a sound in weeks..." he said, pulling it from it's pocket. He heard a girl's voice cutting in and out, "-llo is any-... can yo-... read m-". He quickly responded, "Hello, are you there? This is Corporal Kemper Borowicz. What is your location?" He looked around the room for a moment. This could be a lead to a safe location, but it could also be a cry for help, or trap. He wasn't one for rescue missions, they were always trouble, and usually a fail. He hoped the voice wasn't asking for help, knowing that Blair would be well on her way to saving someone and he would have to follow to keep her out of trouble. His mission was to get North anyway, so he hadn't planned on staying here for long, maybe this was a good out to leave this ever growing group behind, he hated traveling in groups, it was bad news.

Blair was suprised to see that Kemper had run into yet another pal from the military. She watched as he grinned happily, unknowingly smiling at the sight of his adorable dimples. She wondered exactly how Kemp knew this Rini, but it wasn't any of her business. When the girl mumbled some instructions, she made a mental note, but would leave the work to Dani probably. It was her house and her medicines. When Kemper's radio went off in a loud burst of static Blair jumped grabbing onto the man's leg who had scooted slightly away from her. She looked over at him as she removed her hand, embarrassed, "Sorry..." she looked at Kemper and waited for the response on the CB, if someone needed help she would be gone as soon as she could. She hadn't planned on staying here anyway, she needed to get North.

"My barrings are north-east, about fifteen miles from town, the Langdon estate," Anniebelle spoke softly, a lot slower this time to make sure the Corporal understood her. "Are you alone or with others?"

Anniebelle's eyes lit up, finally someone answered her transmissions, after so long waiting, she looked down at her solar powered watch, it was almost time for her training, training could wait, this was far more important.

Alice had watched the military man as he moved from around the couch so he could see him better. He didn't react when the radio buzzed with static, but when Blair grabbed his leg, Alice shot up like he'd just been bit on the ass, and jumped away from her a few steps. Honestly, what was with that girl wanting to touch him so much? He shivered, frowning deeply and somewhat glaring at the girl. Alice wanted to be left alone, but he didn't really want to be alone. As much as he distrusted people, now that he'd somehow landed in a group of them, he didn't really want to part from them. He ran a hand through his hair, sighing softly and looking over everyone in the room.

It was silent for some time, which worried Annie deeply. She took a minute to get on a decent train of thought.

"There is a Gas Station about twelve miles South of me, I could meet you there. I can go no farther than that, my Father will worry. I'll borrow my Father's Lab Vehicle, it's armored. If, I leave now, I can only wait two or three hours," she spoke nervously, knowing that her Father would practically kill her for going out by herself, but she was old enough, plenty old enough to go out on her own, and do what was right.

She took a deep breath, her stomach felt like it was in knots, she needed to know if he was okay, she continued, "Are you or anyone you are with hurt, is anyone with you infected or showing small signs of infection?"

Fenris shifted uncomfortably. He kind of regretted scavenging his radio's batteries a while, ago now. Walking over to Kemp, he said, "Even if we could gather supplies enough, and find the place, we have wounded. It's best for us to wait a bit first, then when they're able to walk we can get moving."

Standing off from the group, Dani paid attention to the conversation, especially taking note of the girl's instructions. Intrusion wasn't for her, even though she had no idea what manners were. Motioning quickly to Thorn, Dani sighed with relief as he perched on her shoulder. One thing was for certain, and that was that the raptor was always going to be with her.

Slipping out of the room, Dani made her way up the stairs and onto the roof. The stars were certainly beautiful; undiluted by the light pollution of most major cities. As she leaned against the tilt, so designed to reduce the effect of rain, Thorn adjusted himself on her shoulder, her flesh protected by a leather band and calluses. The calluses did a nice job of hiding the scars from when his talons first grew in. That had been painful.

Having missed the whole conversation over the radio with the girl, Dani didn't really care one way or the other whether they helped her or not. She had come up here to relax. Who knew that so many people together could be... bothersome? Everything had just gone by so fast. It was a bit of work to adjust so quickly.

As the voice on Kemper's CB responded he tuned away the static and responded. "We're in Grandfalls, in a safe city. We're in no danger. There are seven of us" he paused for a moment "...and a bird." Dani's eagle quite frankly gave him the heeby jeebies. "We have one with a fever and one mildly injured." He wondered what she meant by her father's armoured lab vehicle. Who were these people? When Fenris approached him and said they should wait until the others were better, he listened. The two of them had been through some heavy situations together and they thought much alike. He probably should have asked the others what they wanted to do, but he didn't really care. He was used to calling the shots, as he was good at it, so that's what he would do here. If anyone didn't like it, they could leave. Talking back into his radio, "We're safe here for now. But we are headed North when our sick are well enough to travel. Can we find refuge at your estate?" He half hoped the others didn't really want to leave so he could be on his own again. If nothing else, he would leave them at their next destination.

Blair had been listening in on the conversation between Kemper and the girl on the radio when she noticed Dani out of the corner of her eye, standing off from the group, looking stressed, if nothing else. When she slipped out of the room Blair stood and followed behind her, climbing up the stairs and onto the roof. She offered a smile, "Mind if I join you?" she asked as she sat, laying on her back with her arms behind her head. "The stars really are somethin' huh? It's not often I have the chance to stop and appreciate them like this." She looked over at Dani and the eagle. "Are you alright Dani?"

At Blair's question, Dani looked up at her before shrugging. It didn't really matter to her either way. She had to admit that it had surprised her that Blair had followed. For one, it showed she cared, and for the other, it showed that she had noticed Dani sneak off, which was something she was good at.

"Balls of hydrogen and helium, among other gases," Dani intoned without really thinking about what she was saying. "But yeah, they are really beautiful." Thorn had ruffled his feathers and sort of hissed at Blair, but Dani's hand stroking his side had calmed him down. He certainly was being finicky today.

"Huh?" she asked, confused for a moment about Blair's next question. She really cared that much? For a total stranger? "Yeah... No... Maybe? I don't know. I just feel kind of funny in my tummy, and I don't know how to interact. And my head hurts. But worst of all is the amnesia. I should know things, but I can't remember what form of government we were. And the things I've forgotten are random. Like, I know how to read, but I didn't know that a thesaurus was until I looked it up." Fidgeting a little as she finished, Dani resisted the urge to glance over at Blair.

It was in Blair's nature to care for and about others. She watched as the eagle seemed bothered, and how Dani easily calmed him. Their bond was admirable. She listened for a moment to Dani before looking back to the stars to speak. "The feeling you have is normal for what you're going through, try not to let it get you Dani, I'll help you through it if you want. But I wonder what happened to this city to be empty, and to you to not have your memories." She was deep in thought for a moment before she rolled onto her side resting her head against her hand to face Dani. "Did you put any thought into coming with us? I heard there are places North that are entirely free of infection where people are thriving and living normal lives. Maybe someone there can help you get your memory back. If you're willing to leave your home here behind..." A cool breeze swept over them ruffling Blair's short hair as she studied Dani. The girl must have gone through something crazy to have lost her memory and be here all alone. No wonder she seemed so nervous in the group. Blair felt bad for her and was going to make helping Dani her business.
